This is excellent espresso. Ordered a double shot, a cortado (skim) and a caffe latte (soy). All were strong. The espresso shot was strong but smooth with a nice crema on top and zero bitterness or burnt flavour. The milk was volumized beautifully!! Thank you! Service was highly efficient and very friendly. Will definitely be back.

This is one of my favorite San Diego coffee spots, and my go to when I want a quick coffee break at work. The cold brew concoctions are incredible - Finest City tastes like coffee heaven. Food is also fantastic; Ive really enjoyed the veggie sandwich and build-your-own bagels.

Live right around the corner from this place so the convenience is the main draw. But they also serve delicious coffee. My husband and I enjoy the San Ysidro pour over. I’ve never tried their food but it looks great. The baristas are friendly and quality is consistent. I also like that it’s a walk up window. I usually have my toddler and dog with me so I don’t have to mess with going into a indoor place.

As advertised, the Bankers Hill was truly a killer breakfast sandwich. (Love pretzel rolls!). The Swamis pour over blend coffee was reasonably priced and really good, the Park Blvd smoothie was great. Cappuccino and avocado toast were average. They had professional jazz musicians playing outside which was nice to stumble in on on a Saturday morning.

Very good coffee and a cute atmosphere! The San Ysidro and Gaslamp pour over coffees were delicious! Only a block from Donut Bar so my wife and I had a couple donuts with our coffee while listening to this good little string jazz band with four talented girls!

Classy, inexpensive coffee bar! I highly recommend this shop to all my family and friends who enjoy coffee as well. Yesterday, I came here, and I was so pleased and fulfilled with the overall service. I like your staffs because they were so friendly and courteous. You deserve to be known to a lot of guys! Thank you very much for that.

Great place to pick up morning coffee if youre in downtown. Its more like a outdoor kiosk with seating around, but not a coffee shop or cafe. Great fast and helpful service and the brew is a thumbs up! I got the Almond latte, but there are specialty coffees on the menu all named after popular areas or landmarks of San Diego. Great for catch up with friends especially on a nice outdoor day!

The best pour over coffee I’ve found. I was extremely impressed with the barista, Cynthia, and her skill of the pour over. She had to remake my first coffee because it wasn’t just right. Just goes to show she takes pride in what she does. Delicious coffee. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome food and drinks, but a few of the employees haven’t been wearing masks. I wish I could still give this place 5 stars. Hopefully they’ll do some training or something. They also aren’t actually asking customers to wear masks when ordering or standing at the counter.

Excellent quality and selection of food and coffee. Staff does a great job. However, the line moves far too slowly and coffee and sandwich plus tip $16 is a stretch. That price point is a tad high for takeout and there’s limited outdoor only seating. Is the Rey really putting the screws to them with the rent, are the food cost too high, or are they just operating at a very high profit margin? It’s impossible to know. I would like to see them continue to succeed, but the high price point and slow line are problems that need to be addressed.

This is place for a great cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich. I was in San Diego for the weekend, staying at Marriott Pulse less than a block away, rather than have overpriced hotel breakfast we thought we would check this place out. So glad we did, coffee was amazing and we tried a different breakfast item on each of the 3 days day we went there. Theres plenty of outside seating, clean, and dog friendly.

This place gives me the coffee fix I need every time I visit whenever in SD. The scenery is relaxing, coffee satisfying, and the food is wonderful. Bankers Hill sandwich grew on me esp with the fig jam. I ordered a half-caf dark roast pour over. Staff were polite and apologized for asking so many clarifying questions before my morning coffee. Ill have to check out their other location... Eventually

I had been coming there every morning for coffee and it was fine. I was loyal. One day I looked at the food menu and the manager said were out of everything on the menu with meat (which is literally everything). All we have is bread and cheese.I said, ok, Im hungry, how bout just bread and cheese toasted.. how much? The manager replied with an arrogant six bucks. I dont change the price for you. ($6 is the price of a full sandwich with egg and ham and cheese and such.)I said, what do you mean I come here all the time with my Boxer dog and order food and coffee and always leave a tip and youre gonna charge me full price for bread and cheese??I evoking my right to refuse service to you. You are no longer welcome here.Meanwhile people standing behind me are flabbergasted like I am at what just happened so I told him he can take his coffee shove it cause thats BS. Dont know the guys name but he has a strong middle-eastern accent

I dont say this lightly - I am OBSESSED. During a recent trip to SD, I came here every day (on two days, I came TWICE).Its not often you find a coffee spot doing new, fun, and creative things. Theyre doing those here--and more--at Achilles. And their food is DELICIOUS on top of the exceptional coffee choices.Coffee wise - their Aztec is BOMB. I had the barista do mine with nitro cold brew .. nothing short of heaven in my mouth. Here I am at home in Austin wishing I was sipping on that.Cant wait to return when Im back in SD!

The manager is a sweetheart who always make you feel welcome and Alex (barista) is super knowledgable about each of the different roasts they offer. He can craft a coffee beverage for each customers personal preference. Each drink feels like a custom/couture order. Every item on their Concoctions menu is sooo good and the Hillcrest breakfast sandwich has a nice, fluffy bread. Yum! Also appreciated is their choice to offer compostable straws.
