Amazing cupcakes my favorite by far. The baby cake one is amazing as it has some cookie dough in the middle. Also big fan of the Boston cream cupcake and the tres leches.Loved them so much I had to share and ordered a huge platter of them for a family party. Very accommodating

Delicious, soft cupcakes that are not too sweet!We ordered cupcakes for our twin girls first birthday and they were PERFECT!! I wish I had ordered from here sooner for our oldest daughters birthdays. I cannot recommend them enough for any celebration or occasion or just to treat yourself!

The frosting on the cupcakes are delicious but I’ve been there multiple times and they are always dry. I just had the salted caramel and It was like they forgot to measure the salt it burned my mouth. Probably won’t be going back after having so many sub par sweets.

I stumbled across this place when walking by! I walked in and saw a beautiful display of marvelous cupcakes and other baked treats! I orded the Blood Orange, Carrot cake, salted Carmel and Chocolate mousse I believe. All were delicious but I would like to say, not sure if maybe it was sitting on the display for a while but the salted caramel was not as fresh tasting as the others. Besides that everything was delicious!

Carrot cake cupcake frosting was not sweetened or flavored. It had plain cream cheese on it with no flavor or sweetener. It was quite nasty as far as frosting. I contacted Babycakes and they stated it tastes normal. Since I buy this one often, it does not taste right. I will not buy the Carrot cake cupcake ever again. I cannot recommend this cupcake

I love a good cupcake but was not impressed by these! I stopped in to see what was available, I was headed toward the salted caramel but got pulled away by the tiramisu cupcake. Unfortunately, it was a dry cupcake and the filling and frosting were underwhelming. I did not taste any coffee in this cupcake.Maybe another choice would have been better .

Eclectic bakery and coffee shop. They offer a variety of Cupcakes and coffees. They did forget some of our order and we had to ask for it again. It wasn’t very busy so I’m not sure what happened here. They offer a free treat on your birthday. ID must be shown and this is only good for the day of your birthday is what we were told. Nice place for a sweet treat. Overall a little pricey for what it is.

Best customer service! Cassie was very patient and understanding when I had to change my cupcake count and cake size MULTIPLE TIMES. BLOOD ORANGE IS PHENOMENAL.

I am not from the area and was looking for some bolillos, walked into the bakery but the cupcakes looked pretty so I bought two. One was lemon, beautiful but- save your money, it tasted like any box cake from the grocery store. :/ The second was a Tres Leches -NO LECHEs, not evan One!!! Tasted like vanilla cake :/ Dont taste as good as they look.

There is absolutely nothing on the menu that isnt scrumptious. I recommend Babycakes to everyone that asks me for bakery.

Very pleased with my experience with Babycakes! My consult request was responded to quickly. Cassie was great with helping me choose the design and pricing of my cake. We chose a baby shark theme and strawberry short cake for my sons first birthday. It was beautiful and more importantly - delicious! I will gladly use their services for any other treats while I am in the area!

Amazing Wedding Cake!

Perfectly sweetened moist oversized cupcakes and desserts. They also have a full menu of lunch/dinner options, but this time I only wanted dessert, and Im glad I stopped.

We were here twice in less than 24 hours, we liked it so much! The food, drinks, desserts & service are all pretty great!Over two visits, we tried the Baby Mac (both with & without ham), Chicken Quesadilla, Spinach Quiche with Spinach Salad, Chicken Pot Pie with Fruit, Pork Sliders with Fries, and then- the desserts...Lava Cake, rich & decadent. Tuxedo Cupcake, moist cake, with a delicious raspberry filling. Chocoholic Cupcake, delicious not-too-sweet chocolate frosting; cake tasted a little overcooked and was dry on this one. We love the Mexican hot chocolate here!

Absolutely recommend for dessert & event cakes. We worked with Tanya in booking Babycakes for our wedding cake and are absolutely pleased with our decision. We samples several local cakes that were supposedly more well-known in the wedding industry, but nothing even came close. The flavor of the cakes is amazing, the price was great, ordering/delivery were flawless. I wouldnt change a thing. I love the fact that we can visit Babycakes any day and grab cupcakes that are the same flavors we selected for our wedding cake - easy way to reminisce.We showed Babycakes a picture of an idea we had for the cake design. They replicated with ease and no worries at all. When we discovered how great the flavors were during our sampling, we brought a few cupcakes home for friends/family to sample and weight-in. They all agreed that the flavors were amazing.

An interesting dessert place that has a bar attached!! Stopped by the day after a fantastic experience at Extraordinary Desserts, when someone told us Babycakes was its competitor slash equal. That should explain a missing star! :) Babycakes is a cute, family-style, colorful joint with corny quotes on plaques on the wall. The ambience is cool and kitsch. The service is cheerful. Friendly! Between two of us, we sampled a blueberry scone, a tiramisu cupcake and peach-peppermint Italian soda. The bill sure surprised us, very reasonable fare. The cupcake surprised me in its presentation, very gourmet. Wrapper peeled out, set in a plate with pretty chocolate artistry. The consistency and layering was beautiful, like some serious study had happened.. of the coming together of tiramisu and a cupcake. We walked out with another soda.. a coconut-peppermint, which explains the success on that front. But, but, but.. the wow factor! The explosion of a perfect tiramisu hitting the palate didnt happen. Nor did the scone. It was great, but not wow = bottom line.

I purchased a custom wedding cake and gave a week notice, everyone at BabyCakes San Diego was super accommodating and friendly! My cake was exactly what I wanted and I was able to do it all through emailing. It was a delicious cream cheese butter cream carrot cake! They even delivered it to the Hotel Del Coronado where I had my wedding! 5 star rating for me 😁

I was able to complete an order all the way from Canada for my friend who lives locally! Not only was everything perfect and thoroughly enjoyed but they went above and beyond to make my friend feel special. Love places like these and they deserve way more love! Thank you so much!!

I cant say enough. We had stumbled across this place after having lunch not far from here, GREAT cupcake selection. Highly recommend stopping by for a delicious treat, maybe sit outside and watch the world go by.If you like unique and different tastes of cakes, this is a must.

Im always impressed with babycakes and have never had a bad experience here. Their cupcakes and other desserts are perfect because theyre not overly sweet. I usually hate frosting on cupcakes because its too sweet, but here their frosting is amazing because its perfectly sweetened without ruining the flavor of the cupcake. And I cant forget their amazing coffee they have! Cant wait to keep on coming back for more desserts and coffee dates!

Vacationing in California, and we went here several times! The Happy hour is fantastic, plus their tacos for taco Tuesday were amazing. Very friendly staff, and nice outside patio. Definitely recommend, and if we vacation again will be returning.

Last year I bought a (small size) $38 cream cheese (and another flavor, cant remember) birthday cake. In LOVE with DECOR of cake and the flavor (i think it was) cream cheese. This cake was Tres leche I didnt like it. Thought it wasnt moist enough to be a tres leche. $$ pricey but Affordable

Omg. Words cannot describe how elegant, beautiful, DELICIOUS, and perfect our wedding cake was. We just got married on 10/10, and ever since the beginning, Babycakes was always there. The communication was so great, which is a huge deal!! I NEVER worried. Since the tasting, we just knew it was you who we wanted to make our day even better. Everyone loved the Marble Bianca cake, and WOWED over how it looked. Did I cry when I saw it? You bet I did- it was even better than I dreamed of. Amazing cupcakes and I like the place and service over here. Price is fair and everything is fresh and delicious. Staff working here is nice and served you well. Flavors of cupcakes and ice creams are plenty. It is difficult to choose the one. Overall it is nice experience and I will be back to try some more flavors.

This was my first time at this location. Its just the next street over from my grandmas house, so I will be coming back. My family and tried the chocoholic, the tres leches cupcake, the black bottom, the cinnamon cookie, and the vegan brownie.They were all good! The cupcakes always taste fresh and decadent. I ate mine too quick to take a picture, but I highly recommend this bakery. Cassie was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

This is by far my favorite San Diego bakery where everything Ive tried, including the matcha latte are great! The girls that work there are also attentive & courteous. Wish there were more places like this one scattered around the city.

I love this place! The cupcakes are delicious and so is the quiche. Most of the time I just stop in for the great deal on mimosas. My last visit was on my birthday and they gave me and my friends bonus mimosas. This place one of my favorites in all of San Diego!

I asked for a bowling cake for my husband and I got a disappointment of a cake with flowers. I was so upset when I pick up the cake I just left. It look like the did not cate at all. Never again!!!!

What taste! Incredible staff!You pay the same for all the flavors. The size of cupcakes is definitely not a baby one (contrary to its name) and thats just one of the most amazing feature! Perfect location, in fact they have limited outdoor seating as well which just adds up as a brownie point!

Stopped by upon arriving in San Diego in search of a bakery for my sons wedding. We tried two cupcakes which were okay. The young woman behind the counter was lovely to work with, but the product was not as good as I expected after reading the reviews. I found the cupcakes to be a bit too heavy.

I called in last minute for a cake for my girlfriends birthday and they did not disappoint at all! My cake Looked absolutely amazing! There was no wait time to pick it up, the communication between us was filling with no empty spots. And when I got the cake they made sure that it was to my satisfaction. Best dessert place ever! I Im definitely coming back, if not for a giant cake then for those scrumptious Cupcakes and tarts in the window.

The food, environment, and staff are excellent! I come here for breakfast, coffee, or for drink. They are really connected with the community and create a nice space to network with others. Also, Baby Cakes did my wedding and they were on it! The taste and presentation were perfect. I highly recommend them!

Pricier cupcakes at $3 each but the flavors are unique and the cakes are always moist. I have only had the cupcakes but they also have cheesecake along with other sweet treats. The owners are friendly and make pretty designs on your plate with sweet syrup once you order it. My favorite cupcakes are the pistachio and passion fruit guava flavored ones. Its been a while since Ive been back but nothing has ever disappointed any time I went. There is outdoor patio seating as well as bar seating. Its the one place where you can knife and fork your cupcakes just to enjoy the ambiance of the place.

Best place ever

We needed to take dessert to a gathering, and decided to try out the cupcakes at Babycakes. They were a hit! They had just the right amount of sweetness that I didnt need a glass of water to swallow the rest down.

This place is quite fantastic. Half of it is a chill bar and the other half is an awesome bakery! But wait. Theres more. You can order lunch and they have a lovely pet friendly front patio. The staff is super nice. Sundays is crazy busy in the afternoon and you need to place your order at the counter. This place is so good!

Been here a couple of times and overall its a great place for dessert. The cupcakes arent overly sweet, which makes it easy to eat the whole thing. First time at BabyCakes I had a blood orange cupcake, and it was perfect. I tried the peanut butter cupcake the second time and it was still good but a little dry. There are a few parking spots in the front, so be prepared to search for parking.

Really cool spot right in the center of hillcrest, great find to be honest. Im a pastry fanatic and this place has many pastries to fill that sweet tooth void. I love the quality and presentation, great seating outdoor and nice views. Great cupcakes for any event or just to surprise your coworkers.

Been here a few times for friends birthdays at night. The bakery stuff is pretty good. Bar makes decent drinks. Alcohol and dessert, pretty good by themselves .. Awesome when you can get both. Outside area is good for large groups.

Greta desert selection, but it can be a little intimidating! I only wish that the guy at the register had been a little more helpful in terms of knowing more about the desserts. But, the atmosphere is incredibly warm and inviting and I really love the coziness. The separate bar area is a nice touch as well

Babycakes is a great option for weekend brunch! Its always easy to get a table and as a previous reviewer mentioned, service is colorful! The staff couldnt be more spirited and nice! I normally get one of their egg dishes but end up eating my boyfriends red velvet pancakes which are to die for! And their cupcakes rock! Fun and cute decor make this a Hillcrest gem! We love it there!

The best red velvet cup cakes I have ever tasted.. Last time I went to SD i didn’t know they moved to a new location I thought they closed out, thankfully my friend told me about this location which I have yet to visit..

This is sort of a must when we visit Hillcrest. The cupcakes are delicious and fancy. If youre craving chocolate with a little fruit I recommend the Black Bottom which is chocolate cake with a rich vanilla cream cheese and chocolate chip frosting/filling and a bit of raspberry in the center. My family is in love with the blood orange cupcake. But theres really no wrong way to go here. The bar is also good but the cupcakes really steal the show.

What a phenomenal first time experience. I ordered a marble (with fudge) cake with vanilla buttercream icing for a special occasion. The cake was super delicious and unbelievably beautiful. At first glance our guests did not believe it was an edible cake. There was not one crumb left.

During the day there is a mellow energy here which makes every seem very relaxing. The perfect way to appreciate the sweet or savory items on the menu. Ill tell you what though, I was there on a Sunday afternoon when all of a sudden a DJ & bar was set-up out front and groups of people started walking up creating a lively sunny SD party. So no matter what type of vibe you are looking for it seems to me that Babycakes finds one way or another to bring it.

This is my last stop when I go shopping around the area. I save the best for last. This where I go whenever I have a sweet tooth, and a cupcake is exactly what would cure it. They offer a variety of mouthwatering & creative cupcake flavors from oreos, blood orange, pistachios, to peanut butter. However, you can also stop here for brunch and lunch. I like here to catch up with friends, or a have a quiet moment with me and my book.

Staff is great. Love coming here for brunch as its not packed like some of the trendier places nearby. Menu is small but food is good, drinks are stiff. We usually grab a few cupcakes on our way out.

Baby cakes has a nice outside eating area and a bar over on the side. Of course parking in terrible because it is Hillcrest. If you are lucky you might get one of the 4 spots right in front. Sundays are crazy! Its packed with people like a day club! The cupcakes are delicious. Very creative with flavors. Cant get enough!

OMG, Babycakes never fails. My baby wanted a unicorn cake and boy did they deliver. The look was magical and the taste an explosion in our mouths. It wasnt too sweet, so I dont have kids running around hyped up on sugar. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

This is honestly the best bakery I have ever been too! I got a medium latte and a oreo cupcake here for $8 and the best $8 dollars I have ever spent. Also this is my first time here and I am going to take my friends here and I highly recommend this place.

Love it here. The service is great and the cupcakes...OMG!!! Many different flavors to choose from like blood orange, red velvet, lemon, dark chocolate, etc...made fresh at the restaurant, delicious. You can order giant size or little minis.

Nice presentation and a very cozy atmosphere. Theres a back patio that is great for groups and Gathering. The cupcakes are created and fun.

One of my fave cupcake bakeries in SD. Love love the pistachio cupcake its my #1 there!! I always take my out of town friends here. You can also have drinks and eat there as well which I think is pretty cool!

My mother in law had my gender reveal cake made here. Not only was the cake beautiful it tasted wonderful as well. The cake was moist, flavorful and not overly sweet. Would with out a doubt use them again.

In general pretty good you wont hate it thats for sure. People are awesome as well as desserts. Food had different spices or dressings but still good.
