This was a special charter to the site of a Navy helicopter crash for a wreath-laying ceremony. Captain Lora gave us a thorough safety briefing which helped put those who are not familiar with boating at ease. She did a wonderful and respectful job allowing us to say our final farewells to the lost Navy pilot.

My first trip with Lora & Chris. I had such a great experience and it made the dives that much better. They are very caring from supply water and snacks to a goody bag with anti-fog solutions and cute stickers. The dogs on board were great too. Would defiantly book with them again!

Top notch! Always love getting on the Marissa boat. Captain Laura is always amazing and goes above and beyond for her guests. I was really impressed to see the safety measures they are taking with Covid and they are not over packing boat. They had goodie bags for each person with snacks and bottled water along with the cutest defog, hand sanitizers, disposable masks, Kleenex and stickers. Everyone gets screened and they have custom setup for your rig with individual rinse bucket for your mask. I really liked all the extra little details they put in and their service is always outstanding. Cant wait to get on her boat again.

Fun dives as usual. However, we had one person on board who wasnt vaccinated (for not very good reason) who was unmasked and throwing up over the side. It would be great if Marissa Charters would require vaccination proof of EVERYONE. Vaccine is now FDA approved, no legal reason why you cant require it. COVID could put a real crimp in ones diving (like permanently).

Had a great day on the Marissa dive boat. Captain Lora and Divemaster Chris were friendly, very helpful and well organized. The labled, well filled snack bags and water placed in color coded crates for your dry gear, was a nice personal touch, and the 2 dogs, Captain and Scout were adorable and friendly as well. I have to thank Captain Lora for going above and beyond, by ordering me a new dive bag that the puppy ( Scout ) chewed the zipper on, before the boat even got back to shore !!! Heading back out with them in two weeks ! Would definitely recommend this boat to all intermediate to advanced divers. Very satisfied customer !

Captain Lora and DM Chris provide a fantastic experience for scuba diving in San Diego. They put safety first and are committed to making sure all guests have the best experience possible. Lora goes above and beyond with her goody bags, accommodating allergies and diets. They have a wide variety of dive locations, with some of the best being locations they scouted. To top it off, you get to enjoy her doggos, Captain and Scout!

Chris and Laura were incredible! They managed the health and safety guidelines to perfection, allowing us an incredible experience. The snack options were awesome and they were there to answer all of our questions!

Greatly appreciated all the work Chris, Rod and Lora put in on behalf of all of the divers. They even went the extra mile for one of my clients who dropped an expensive piece of equipment into the water. Without hesitation they pulled together to make sure my diver got their personal gear back while still remaining committed to the other guests who were on the boat. Thank you again for getting us out and on to some great diving.

I love diving on the Marissa and have been diving it for 8+ years. Lora and Chris are fantastic, and willing to help any way that they can. My technical diving career has literally gown up on this boat, starting from deco procedures and progressing all the way to CCR Normoxic Trimix. Great operation that I recommend to everyone. Probably the safest in terms of COVID protocols that I have seen south of Santa Barbara.

Great dive operator! Captain Lora and Chris run an organized, uncrowded and unhurried boat (a big plus when youre trying to teach!).Excellent COVID precautions include spacing divers out by not booking to capacity; personal gear bins and storage spots for everyone; a VERY thorough bag lunch with enough food and snacks for probably two days of diving.The ladder is of the keep your fins on type, which is nice, and even though it wasnt my intention for them to do so, they put my fins on and took them off for me.Great attentiveness to divers gear needs: one of my students forgot his hood (the water temp down on the Yukon was ~57 degrees), and they came up with a hood for him -- after we had already left the dock. Also, they take excellent care of divers cameras.All in all, a great team -- cant wait to dive with them again 👌🏼

What an incredible team, they go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. Lora made us feel especially taken care of and cared for when we were feeling sea sick. Hands down one of my favorite crews, I cant recommend them enough.

Had a great time aboard the Marissa for the 2 tank Yukon dive. There is plenty of room on the boat and they follow all safety procedures. The really personalize the experience with wet and dry bins with your name on them as well as a goody bag for each diver. The bag includes snacks, water, hand sanitizer, a mask and some defog. Will definitely dive with them again and highly recommend them.

The Covid-19 precautions taken on the boat were well thought out and executed. The crew as usual did a great job of preparing the divers for their dive and helping them out when difficulties arose (as in my case case with hypothermia after the first dive). Loved the goody bags, and the allotment of separate stations and storage space for each diver on the boat (may be a good idea to continue even after Covid).

Another amazing experience with Lora, Chris and Captain! This crew is so helpful and attentive to each divers needs and safety, I wonder each time how I can go back to normal diving when I leave. Helping you don and doff your gear, checking your setup with a keen eye.example: I wore a weight belt on my first dive as I had new gear. My weight was spot on so I moved my weight to the integrated pockets and ditched the weight belt for the second dive. Lora noticed that I was did not have my weight belt when I stood for the second dive. Amazing attention to detail!I love that they have nitrox mixing onboard. I get to dive my favorite doubles and still dive nitrox! Chris moves like a ghost about the boat making sure each diver has specifically the mix they desire between the dives and ensuring they have witnessed the analysis. Im not certain I have actually witnessed him walking though... one minute hes here, next minute hes over there.. moves in mysterious ways. heh.I love diving the Marissa! Ill be back soon to be sure.

Great day (09/06/20) on the Marissa. Laura has the COVID issue down. Masks, individual baskets, food, drinks, mask clear. She and Chris were awesome. Nobody else I would dive with in San Diego.

We were fortunate enough to go on the Marissa for her maiden voyage after Covid. The boat and staff were immaculate. My 88 year old father lives with us so I have to be especially careful these days and I felt completely safe with the boat and crew. And oh yeah, the wreck and reef dives were phenomenal too !!

Thanks to Captain Lora and Divemaster Chris for making my first Intro to Tech dives that much easier! Excellent Covid 19 protocol. Best I have seen or heard of on dive boats. Crew always delivers and have customer experience at top of their list. Reduced loads and extra care in these difficult times and crew concern for everyones safety is obvious. After over 30 years of diving and 28 of those as a instructor I will definitely be dive with this boat many more times in future.

Had the absolute pleasure of diving with the crew on the Marissa the week of July 25th, 2020. They are an awesome outfit with an attentive staff, awesome Dive Master and an excellent Captain. Great communication and even tho COVID has hurt many in the industry, the crew on the Marrisa has gone overboard on making sure everyone is safe as can be while still having a great time. I will be visiting them again next time this desert diver makes it to San Diego!

As always, great to dive with Laura, Chris, Captain and now Scout. Visited a couple of reefs off Point Loma. Really cool dive sites, and a lovely day on the water.

As always, the crew of the Marissa takes good care of their customers, doing all they can to keep everyone safe and trying to make sure everyone has a pleasant diving experience. Ive been diving with them for over ten years. They are my first choice for boat diving in San Diego.

The Marissa crew takes great care of their guests and theyve put lots of thoughts and care in updating their procedures against COVID19. Its in the many little things that made the trip seamless and pleasant:the goodie bag, seat and crates labelled with your name, accurate Nitrox fills to the full pressure - and I did not have to go and search or ask for an analyzer - it was right there and ready when the fill was done. I highly recommend this boat.

Great time diving with Marissa Charters, we dove lazy Daze and connors canyon. I will most definitely be diving with them again and Captain the beagle keeps his eye out for any sea lions or dolphins.

Awesome boat dive experience. The crew was super friendly, efficient and very professional. They were superbly prepared to deal with COVID-19 requirements. Had a great trip the weekend after the 4th with Marissa Charters. Gear we needed was there, crew was super helpful, and the boat was well maintained with plenty of space to gear up and move around during surface intervals. Will go again.

Great Dive boat, with an awesome boat dog, Captain. Marissa has great food between dives and EAN fills for a fair price. Captain Lora and Dive Master Chris are taking the current pandemic seriously and have implemented safe and reasonable precautions to protect everyone on the boat’s health.

First and last dive in San Diego. Before getting into the negatives, I do have to say that the captain and her assistant were exceptionally kind. The boat is comfortable with plenty of shade from the son. However, this didnt make up for a very unpleasant dive trip. I have never felt so unsafe during a dive. When we arrived to the boat, they didnt have all the rental gear for everyone. The assistant was making calls to the captain trying to get all the equipment. We waited for an hour before the captain casually showed up with the gear and a Starbucks in hand. We finally got underway into very choppy waters. When gearing up, three out of the five divers found they were missing equipment (fins and hoods) from their rental gear. Fortunately, they did have extras stored on the boat. At this point, we found out that we would be diving alone without a guide. Granted, I cant blame this completely on them as it is not listed anywhere on their website that it would be guided. However, they took us to a location, gave a two minute diving brief, and said jump in, we will be here when you get back. The crew recognized the water was so rough their brief included instruction to not hold onto the anchor line as it has been known to dislocate divers shoulders. With the water being so choppy, we only had a few feet of visibility until about 30 feet down and then had a max of 10ft visibility. There were other boats driving around the area, and they didnt provided a safety sausage to deploy prior to surfacing. The visibility was so poor it was near impossible to relocate the boat prior to resurfacing. We chose not to do the second dive and forfeited our money because we didnt feel like it was safe to do so. I dont feel like this dive company provides a safe or enjoyable dive experience. I definitely would not recommend them to anyone.

Took my two kids ages 10 and 12 diving with Marissa Charters. They were professional, nice and knowledgeable about the dives. We had a blast. My daughter was scared as it was her first ocean dive. The captain and guide (which I requested) were very patient with her. She got over her fears and we had a successful dive trip. I am so glad we choose to dive with them!
