I had booked a private course with Seth through Ocean Enterprises for my Advanced PADI certifications and could not have been happier. Seth is very knowledgeable and accommodating and ensured that we covered the dive plans and discussed any potential hazards before the dives. The shop is a little inland so expect to be hauling tanks and any rental gear back and forth, but the very friendly service and reasonable prices make up for it.Would definitely come back for my next diving needs.

My fiancée and I took the Weekend Open Water dive course with #OceanEnterprises and had a great time. Our scuba instructor, Kym, was fantastic and took care of us and everyone else in the class. She and her divemaster, Allie, kept a close eye on everyone, learned each students individual needs during the course and helped us out directly. If we wanted to try out other styles of goggles, theyd pull some out of their stash for us to try on. If we were cold one day in the water, theyd show up the next day with an additional base layer for us to wear. It was so reassuring to have instructors who were so attentive to us as we learned how to be safe and have a fun time in the water while diving.The dive shop at #OceanEnterprises was equally awesome and helped us pick out the right gear we needed for the class. The wetsuit, tanks, buoyancy control device (BCD), and regulators/SPG/computer can be rented, but we had to bring our own mask, snorkel, fins, gloves. The shop staff were super friendly and explained how everything should fit, and what the pros and cons to different styles of gear were. The rental shop at #OceanEnterprises was also great and helped us get fitted properly in our rental gear so we were all set to get into the water.Looking forward to the next class we can take! I was equal parts anxious and excited to try scuba. I couldnt be more happy I chose OE. Everyone was super knowledgeable and kind. While they take scuba serious, as they should, they make sure to make it fun as well. I have found my dive shop moving forward!

Took the open water certification class though Ocean Enterprise with my fiancé back in September and it was such a great experience. Everyone at the dive shop was super helpful getting me fit for the perfect gear and Kym and Allie were amazing instructors going above and beyond what I would have ever expected.  Cant wait to take my next scuba class with Ocean Enterprise!

Excellent service throughout. The instructors and divemasters are very patient and thorough. The service and rental staff carefully made sure we understood everything and were prepared. And the sales staff is very patient, answering all my questions in detail.

Whether you are debating on getting your scuba certification or you are deciding on what company to go through, you will not regret choosing Ocean Enterprises. I was indifferent about getting my certification, but my instructors (Kym, Rob and Pedro) were so passionate and knowledgable, you cant help but love it. They equip you with unmatched information and are insanely awesome people. Even at the dive shop getting equipment, every associate is very bubbly and there with your best interest. I always wanted to be a diver and finally decided to the jump! This dive shop came highly recommended by a friend and I literally can’t say enough good things about the people that I met and that taught me how to get open water certified! Everything from communication and expectations through the course were above and beyond. I actually forgot to pick up my dive gear before the pool certs and the shop called me giving me the heads up to come get the gear. Which to me really showed the business cares about helping you become a diver versus making money which is really important to me in a business I support. Because they could’ve easily had me make my mistake and charged me for rescheduling.The instructor staff was awesome, attitude and knowledge wise I had Trevor/Allie for my pool time and Donovan/ Jessie for our open water dives. Not a single bad experience just awesome times taking my first steps into the world of diving thanks to the instructors. Even when I was getting helped at the store and fitted for gear or what to buy, I never felt pressured to buy or rushed and the knowledge demonstrated by the staff was awesome definitely coming here as long as I live in the San Diego area.

I recently took the Open Water certification with Ocean Enterprises and I felt very prepared, confident, and had a ton of fun. My instructor (shout-out to Andrew) was so encouraging and shared lots of his experiences to get us excited for diving trips. Cant wait to use my new skills!

Ive had a lot of fun learning Scuba with OE, I am glad I joined the dive club because that just add to the fun and diving the local reefs.San Diego is better than I ever expected all year round.They shop has very comprehensive prices on scuba lessons and gear, and their tent sales are amazing, you can talk to the reps and learn about a whole bunch of gear, is like a scuba show.

For everyone looking to do Open Water Diver, here are the prices:~$225 for the course (includes the main scuba rental items)~$180 for the PADI e-learning (cannot be shared with anyone else)~$50 for the guidebook, dive log, etc.And you need to have fins (~$100), snorkel (~$40), mask (~$50), booties (~$50), and gloves (~$30), which can be rented ($40 per day?) or purchased (prices above).Total is roughly $750.Would be nice if this were quoted on the site.Another thing you arent made aware of on the course sign-up: you will have to drop off/pick up your air tanks from the store. You borrow two at a time and need one tank for every dive. This meant that for a course I took, I needed to visit the store 5 times for pick up/drop off of air/equipment. (We had four pool dives, 4 ocean dives. And actually we had to go an extra time, but that was unexpected.) A lot of extra driving and time I wasnt expecting, when the course is already quite demanding!All the pool dives were completed within 2 or 3 hours, never 4 as quoted. We rarely went below 2000 psi on our tanks (though ymmv). Felt like those skill learnings couldve been condensed into 2 or 3 days.The orientation was OK, but felt more like a sales event for the snorkeling gear. I definitely felt pressured to buy and the orientation part did not feel meaningful--could have been accomplished online or on the night of the first pool dive.The people in the rental department were pretty cool - I liked their calendar with random holidays - yoga day, rocky road day, etc.Then there were the vagaries of the particular course I took, which I dont feel like getting into. Suffice to say, Im getting my advanced cert at another shop in the area.It wasnt the worst experience, but wasnt great either. I did get stoked to keep diving! But for how much money youre spending, itd be nice to receive a consistently positive quality of service.

Best dive shop in San Diego by far. Amazing selection, very customer focused and have a great staff of avid divers to help along the way. It is hard to find another place that has the range of products, especially the higher end items by scubapro/aqualung etc.

This is my wife and Is favorite dive shop by far, we are relatively new to diving and still getting our gear figured out. Staff are always super friendly and eager to help and make sure all our questions are answered. Jacob helped us when picking stuff out and made sure we got the right gear we needed, super friendly place and very kind to newbies like us. Would highly recommend them and this is for sure our new favorite spot to shop.

From the moment I walked in the customer service was excellent! The sales lady was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. It is a large store for a dive shop, but that meant more selection. If I need anything else for diving or scuba, this is my now go to shop.

These comments apply to the SERVICE DEPARTMENT. The service staff are exceedingly well trained and qualified to repair most scuba equipment. They have serviced my gear for at least 10 years and their work has been excellent. I trust them to do the repairs right. They do.

I’ve been diving with Ocean Enterprises for three years now and it has always been an enjoyable experience. Continuing education with their instructors or the knowledge of their shop and repair staff has been great. Also their travel wing has put together some great trips!!

My boyfriend recently started trying to get me into snorkeling and he brought me here to get a wetsuit, mask, and snorkel & I honestly had the best first experience. Claire helped us and she’s very knowledgeable and patient. I felt intimidated going to a dive shop cuz I know nothing but she was welcoming and had helpful suggestions! We still return here and there and she’ll even remember us. If you come here ask for her! She’s the best!

My husband and I came to San Diego to do a great white shark dive . We were ill prepared since Georgia doesn’t carry much 7mm stuff . My husband had called before hand and spoke to Hanna who happened to actually be at the store when we showed up. She was so amazing and patient in helping us choose the right gear for our dive . She was knowledgeable and provided many different options from suits to masks and even different Go Pro accessories . Our dive would have been impossible for us without her . Our gear was perfect from head to toe and kept us warm the whole entire trip. We are so happy we purchased the suits instead of renting them because we want to use them for future dives since they were that awesome. If you go to this store ask for Hanna because she will hook you up and get you exactly what you are looking for . I can’t wait to visit the dive shop again next trip. Thanks Hanna!

Great scuba store. Friendly, professional and good products. They are one of the best scuba repair service shops in SD. I have bought gear for me and my girlfriend many times. I showed up 5 minutes before closing with faulty BCD. They gladly looked into the problem and had it diagnosed and fixed, by replacing the dump valve o-ring. We were out the door in 5 minutes and still able to get back out to La Jolla for a lobster dive that night. Awesome service, great shop. Thanks, Ocean Enterprise!

Ive been a customer there since day one. Always enjoy a visit. Their service department has kept me safe forever. Seeing complaints about staff surprised me. They all do their best and are helpful and will patiently answer questions. You can always get expert advise since they have some very experienced staff. When they are really busy they can get swamped especially during a sale or tent sale. All the players in the dive industry try to have a rep on site for the Tent Sales. They have price matching so the complaints about high prices are not fair. I occasionally check out the other local shops but nobody has their selection. Ive also had other shops work on my stuff when necessary and was disappointed to say the least. Theyve been in business for the longest time for a reason.

They care about your safety, comfort, and success as a diver and understand that we as an industry must be a team in order to enjoy what we do and grow as instructors and individuals. Take a course here and absolutely go in for gear-fittings and advice on gear selection.

Ocean Enterprises and the entire OE team are a fantastic resource if youre diving in San Diego, or if you want to get into diving for the first time! Ive done all of my advanced designations through them, and their team is absolutely top notch. Every person that works there is a diver, and they are all educated on their products, and are always willing to help answer any questions about a new gear purchase!

I have never been to a shop before that people dont just try to push you to buy the best product ever thats also the most expensive until I came here. This shop is great with great staff that actually cares and takes care of their customers. I have zero complaints and will continue my business with these guys for as long as I live in the area. I absolutely love Ocean Enterprises! Their instructors helped us get our open water certification and we kept going after that. Right now we are doing our Divemaster certification with OE. We have purchased all of our equipment from them and they have stood behind all their products 100%. The good thing about buying from a local shop is that you now have a place to fill air. The more you can buy local the better off we all are. I recommend buying the air card and your fills will be a fraction of the cost. Their repair shop is awesome and very reasonably priced. How can you put a price on your life! I can be cost conscious in many areas of my life, but this is not one of them! We have also done many fun events with OE and will continue doing them in the future. Great job to all the staff at OE, why go anywhere else. Oh yeah the other cool thing...they all know us by name now so it is kind of like Norm on Cheers!

I had tried scheduling open water certification dives with a different shop in San Diego and was struggling to get clear communication, so I switched to Ocean Enterprises last minute. Kaylie made scheduling a dream, diligently taking care of everything last minute. She even emailed me back after 10pm one night! Misty was also a pleasure to work with in equipment rentals.Once we had our equipment, my wife & I set off with Jay (our instructor) to review our skills in a pool before hitting the ocean. He was very detailed and was patient with us (it took us awhile to don our 7mm wetsuits). Jay made sure that we displayed proper skills before deciding it was time to head to the ocean.Upon arriving at the ocean, it turned out that conditions were too hazardous for diving. It was the same story the next day, so unfortunately we were not able to complete our open water dives during our vacation. However, the shop was very fair about refunding our money for the open water dives. They charged us for the pool time but not for the equipment, even though we had it for two days waiting for good weather.If Im ever back in San Diego, I will go straight to Ocean Enterprises for my diving needs.

I have had my SCUBA gear for about 20 years so it was time to upgrade. I was sure the technology has changed in 2 decades, so I wasnt sure what to expect. Camille Rice was the dive professional that helped me out. We actually had alot of fun finding out about some of the equipment together. Camille was incredibly helpful while not being pushy or impatient as I took quite awhile to decide on what equipment I wanted. Most fun $1000.00 I have spent in awhile. Great job Camille 🤗

Things are all a bit overpriced. Bought Mares bungee strap for my fins last week and it costs $10 more than the other local dive shop that I visited. Scuba classes are fine. Instructors are professional, experienced, encouraging and dedicated. They have lots of interesting dive stories and useful tips to tell.

The best place in San Diego for all your dive gear! Kristy was phenomenal in ensurIng I got exactly what I wanted when I went to the store for new dive gear. When I wasn’t totally happy with my chosen unused bcd and computer, Kristy patiently worked with me to determine exactly what I wanted, and found the suitable replacements for exchange. After all her assistance, I love all my new gear and can’t wait to go back to OE for more accessories, even though I have exactly what I need and then some.OE certified me in 2003 and they are still providIng value after all these years. Great Staff

It’s hands down the best dive shop in SD. They provide lots of scuba equipment -head to toe- and lots of brands to buy from. Rental gear are new and are in great condition.

I cant comment on the training here, but I had a great experience renting gear. I have never dove in SD before, so I let the staff guide me. They were able to help me rent exactly what I needed and my dive went great.

All of the staff that I interacted with were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were accommodating and willing to help with whatever I needed!

Service department is a joke. They look out for their wallet and not the customer. They think they are the scuba safety patrol and need to make you safe at every turn, usually resulting in more money pouring out of your wallet.

I have been pleased with their service on regulators etc. I have used them to inspect, fill and hydro tanks. They usually have some very good deals at the tent sale, and some other times of the year.

They are acclaimed for their personal service. And I see them living up to that every time I have the pleasure to shop with them.

Walked into this place with a fin in my hand. Spent several minutes trying to get somebodies attention. Couldnt even get anybody to make eye contact. I didnt need help immediately, but if their employees cant even let you know that they will get to you in a minute, then... there were about 6 customers in the store and at least 4 employees.

I went here to get PADI certified and was treated with the utmost respect. Being in the navy I deal with a lot of hurry up and waiting along with courses where you get certified that are all education and no fun but that definitely wasnt the case here. I learned everything I needed and felt comfortable enough to dive many times off of grand cayman island. I went to their tent sale as well and realized anyone who wants to start diving and has some money saved up needs to go to this sale, they have everything available and for prices anyone can afford. This is a great place to be whether your a new guy just looking for answers or an old pro that needs the best gear out there.

Went there for the first time today, I found the customer service and prices to be excellent. I was able to get a tank & valve for a much better price than anything I found on the internet. Staff was very friendly and helpful, will buy more diving supplies from them in the future.

Went in to get a new mask, and they didnt have the colour I wanted but they were going to order it. There was miscommunication and it didnt arrive in tjme before I left the San Diego area. I called them and they apologized profusely and were very accommodating for my upcoming dive. Since the mask I ordered still wasnt going to arrive in time, they overnighted me the same mask but in another colour for free and my other mask arrived a day later. They were wonderful with the misunderstanding and making sure I was happy with everything. I would go back there any time I was in the area!Thank you guys!

The girls that work there are really rude. Looks like we are doing a favor to buy there. One was more interested in texting, other one want us to leave ( showing the exit) and other really upset to explain about the gear. The guys are nicer. I was buing wetsuit, light and BC, and wanted to know about brands, prices... Looks like I was disturbing the girls... I bought what I need, but I dont think to come back there anymore.

The most expensive prices Ive ever seen.My bottles which are in date, were labled with stickers from a rival dive supply company. My bottles were refused, The lead bottle tech said i could take them back or i would have to buy two new bottles@ 500$ each. When i asked specifically WHY, he responded with they are LUXFERs we havent charged those in years and years..He just wanted to make me buy new bottles.I refuse to support a business who seeks to screw over its fellow brother.

Great experience taking the open water 2-week course!

Definitely not your typical dive shop, and that is not a good thing. Being located within an office building should have tipped me off immediately but I proceeded to do business with them anyway because they are one of the very few PADI 5 Star IDC dive shops in San Diego. Upon entering you can tell this is a large organization and, as I continued to learn each time I visited over the past two years, has lost (or never had) the customer service touch within its bloated walls.Staff is very hard to find - nary a greeting upon entrance. Sales staff, once identified and made aware you are an interested customer, provided good service. However looking for them becomes a chore that an organization with as many people on the payroll should not suffer.On the service side, which is almost a completely different company within the Enterprise, seems out of touch with the meaning of customer relations. My most recent interaction with this staff resulted in a passive-aggressive attitude that is not required nor desired. The dive industry has for the most part eliminated the holy than thou attitude, but it remains with these individuals. I tried attempting to correct this in person but unable to find a manager in a timely manner proved impossible (see previous paragraph).Nothing negative to report on the rental side - that is a well run shop. But just like the service side, it is a completely separate company internal to the Enterprise. What happens in one, stays there - it appeared there was no cross-talking between their systems.Pricing: out of this world. Very large selection of items but each are priced very high. Items displayed as on sale are marked down to the MSRP. Regulator service is also over-priced by a very large margin in what must be an attempt to make a nice profit. To maintain the Enterprise, one must charge the customers through the roof.And finally, the little things that add up. Store opening on weekends is 0900 - how do you expect to service divers opening at such a late hour? Open at the latest by 0700. Social media marketing galore - but what supports these claims? Another business focused on corporate sales - you can start to get the idea that the primary business model isnt focused on the individual customer.I wanted to like this establishment but the Enterprise is just too big for itself. Have a look at how many instructors they have - 34 plus 13 assistant instructors/divemasters! I cant speak to how they excel on the instruction side but to maintain such a beast of an instructor pool doesnt come cheap. Based on the high prices, the poor attitudes, and the lackluster service, I am no longer a patron of this dive shop.

One stop shop for anything Scuba and my go to place. Best customer service I have had in any type of retail store. I received my Advanced certification, Night Diver cert, drysuit cert, EFR and now signed up for Rescue Diver all through OE. The staff is amazing and extremely helpful. They are always laughing, always have smiles on their faces and without a doubt love what they do. I have dove with several of their instructors and DMs since becoming a regular here and they are always a good time.I started as a clueless open water diver and now have the goal of being a DM with OE.
