They have fresh and delicious pre-made Super Bowl trays! The staff are all friendly and accommodating. The location is also good with lots of parking! They also have other kinds of food that are all so delicious too! Money spent here is money well spent!

Classic small grocery store that still offers butcher services plus a deli. Great beer & wine selection considering the overall size of the store.You can call ahead on orders from the deli which makes all things Mexican plus a proper sandwich bar. I enjoyed my visit! Convenient neighborhood grocery store with just about any standard things you would want from your grocer. Very good produce at great prices. Boars Head deli in the back. In the back as well combined with the meat counter are freshly made tacos, burritos, tamales, and fried chicken. All very good and affordable. Nice beer and wine selection. I always appreciate how they keep their nice breads at the checkout so I rember to buy them. Friendly staff and usually cool music playing.

Excelent! it looks like they did a face lift, nice little bakery, meats are priced well and the carne asada meat is nice and juicy. Also salsa super good and once you teste it you can feel the freshness.

Great neighborhood grocery store. The last one in the area since they tore down Miller’s Market. Target Express down the street is fine, but I enjoy going here a bit more. Don’t overlook the meat counter and adjoining deli counter, they have lots of great choices. I like to buy my own pastrami and sliced Swiss cheese at the deli counter and bring them home to make my own Reuben sandwiches.

You go here for the Mexican prepared food! The guacamole, chips, carrots, beans and rice, and the crema. I do some of my grocery shopping here but it’s overpriced.

I came here to pay by money order for the last year and a half. One guy that does it is great and charges 2 usd per check. While the other charged me $22 today! Inconsistent and a completely unprofessional worker. I will find another place to pay my rent.

Living a few blocks away i have had the pleasure of watching thos little mexican market metamorphasize into the perfect store. The owner has changed with the demographic (hipsters live here now) but has kept that authentic cozy Mexican market appeal. Their meat is terrific. Great beer selection. Veggies are getting better. Food Bowl has been around forever and has continued to be one of the cornerstones of South Park. The store is in beautiful shape and carries a variety of items to suit your needs. They have an excellent butcher counter with a deli that serves up all sorts of delicious food. I will recommend and continue shopping here!!!

Ive personally shopped here many times and its prety convenient. Produce is always fresh, staff is friendly. The prices are slightly inflated (but that makes sense because I dont have to drive 20 mins to Walmart or something for sour cream or a potato) my absolute favorite is this gem (look at picture) they shape the chorizo into a pork head :)

Hidden gem of a tiny neighborhood store. Good produce selection/quality and reasonable meat selection, though the quality of the meat was not quite as good as Sprouts in my opinion (more cartilage in the chicken thighs, marinades were not quite as tasty), but still pretty decent for a small neighborhood store. Prices for meat/produce are very reasonable.Very good selection of Mexican foods and ingredients. Reasonable beer/wine selection as well. They have some uncommon Kettle chip flavors as well (chili verde, korean bbq).

Great local market! I try to support local as much as possible, even if theres a slight difference in cost. I truly appreciate the store being so close to me. It beats going to the larger markets with more people and longer checkout lines. The deli and meat section were perfect. Nostalgic of going to the market with my grandma. This is a great go to store in the South Park neighborhood.

Highly over priced and price gouging during pandemic. The fruits always go bad very quickly. Except the bananas, those are never ripe.Go here for a quick buy with short notice. 2 stars only because it has a butcher service, that convenient. But i try to NOT go here!!!

So I am pleased to say that Im updating my review. About a month or so ago I had a terrible experience cashing my check with people I felt knew me well, today I am happy to say that that issue was resolved just a misunderstanding. I love food bowl and have been coming here for years and I wont stop coming! matter of fact I recommend this store to all my peers. Felt really good to get the respect I felt I deserved from the owner who knows me more than most people that meant a lot to me. And I took that as a sign of respect and for that I want to say thank you God bless!

Wow. The chicken noodle soup is amazing. Its got so much flavor... by dunking bread into the soup I got to extend the life of it. The lemony, garlic, ginger, and other spices work so well and the spiraled pasta is just an amazing add.Its better than my grandmas. Seriously. Check it out.

Food Bowl is the best neighborhood market. I shop there every other day. As a budding home chef, they not only have cheap produce and staples but some speciality items for last minute ingredients in the recipes. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

This is my favorite local neighborhood market. Ive been in the neighborhood 20 years and used to only buy a few things here but they have gradually improved their offerings, and now I buy most of my groceries here. They now carry organic produce, a huge wine and beer selection, and a full Boars Head Deli. You might think being a small market that it would be more expensive, but I find I actually get the best prices in town on certain items, like for example the local organic bread I buy. Most amazingly, theyre one of the few places that still has an on-site full butcher. Prices on meat are very reasonable, probably couldnt do better anywhere else.

I love this grocery store in our neighborhood! I have lived in South Park for years and I have seen this store move with the times but yet kept their Hispanic roots. I live the owner, he has so much passion and really listens to what the customers want. What I love most is the meat selection and the home made guacamole, salsa and chips! Love this place!! ❤️

Husband and I were stationed out in San Diego for 2 years . We went to his market at least 3 times a week. They always had deals . Great selection of fresh veggies and a deli. Also the staff were amazing . Almost grew somewhat of a friendly relationship with the butchers as well as the cashiers it was very homey given being miles from home . The fresh made tacos arent bad either, my husbands favorite was the burrito . Theyre not stingy with meat either ! They almost always give a surprise flavor salsa so its very refreshing .

Being new in town, I love this little local grocery store. They have a great selection of products including the fresh meat butchers counter and also a Boars Head sandwich Deli offering Fresh Sandwiches and salads and Deli items.On my particular visit, all though it looked like I wasnt going to be able to buy the meat that I saw on sale, the butcher went to the back and found something for me and Fresh sliced it and then he made sure I got the deal on it.The folks at food bowl Market excel in great customer service, Quality Meats, and excellent product selection.I am now one of their regular customers!!!

This is a great little store. It was my go to when I lived in South Park. They have a great meat counter, decent produce section and some of the best tacos in San Diego for under 2 bucks each. A must try!

Great medium-sized Mexican market. They have decent produce, good meat selection, lots of beer, and a pretty good wine selection. One of the only places I know of that carries Columbia Winery.

They have a good selection. For a local grocery store the prices are really reasonable. They have some decent whole bean coffees which is nice. A solid selection if beer. The carneceria (butcher) is well stocked if a bit small. They have good produce. They also have a good assortment of root/ginger beer.

As Ive gotten older and understood the value of supporting local businesses Ive made it a point to stop in to check out local grocery stores! Ive only been here once to date but will definitely be back! Avocados 3 for a dollar, need I say more! I only perused the fruit and vegetables section and noticed a huge butcher section since it was a quick stop. Going back next week for a thorough inventory ;-)

My favorite locally owned food market, every time I go they have done something else to improve the store and the selection. Now they have a nice deli area and if course their housemade salsa and chips are terrific. Their butcher shop in back is very good as well

Hidden grocery store gem in South Park. Its clean but not super fancy. They have a full butcher with great prices and a wide variety of cuts and even marinated meats. Its fairly small (about 5 medium sized isles) but between the produce and the meat I find my self coming here often. The owner will often open a register if he sees the checkout line is growing too long.

Meat, Produce, Beer and some fish/seat food. Also, to order tacos and sandwiches. All amazing selections. But you can pretty much skip all the middle aisles not on the perimeter of the store. Prices all 30-40% over what u woyld normally pay.

South Park San Diegos independent grocery store. Carries a decent selection of everyday food items and dry goods with an emphasis on northern Mexican food stuffs. Excellent selection of craft and mass-produced beers. Full service butcher counter and San Diegos finest homemade salsas and chips.
