I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Premier Cuts.Allow me to premise this review with the fact that I messed my hair up BAD! Last year, I hacked at my hair and destroyed it. Because of how bad I messed my head up, I waited over a year to gain some length to it, so that whomever had something to work with.I love the fact that you can walk into the salon. I was told that there would be a 45 minute wait, however, I was seen almost immediately.The dear angel, who I had the great pleasure of addressing my hair, is Emily. Right away, I liked her a lot. She greeted me with such warmth and friendliness, that I was immediately at ease. I knew she had a great task ahead of her. We had excellent conversation as she worked her magic. I completely trusted her and her educated, professional opinion on how to even out the mess on my head.Emily took her time, carefully adjusting the various layers and dead stuff.When she was finished, I was more than pleased! Emily gave me a wonderful cut and my hair looks like a normal persons hair again - not that crazy witch hair that I had been sporting for way too long.I highly recommend Emily, not just for her excellent personality, but for the fact that she takes great care to deliver her best services. Also, I want to add that she appreciates working with long hair, and it shows.Thank you, Emily! You are an angel!

Avoid Samantha! Velma was nice enough to try to rectify the haircut I was given, but in the end I still had to go to a completely different salon just to fix the mess she created. My boyfriend accompanied me for a hair cut, also by Samantha, as soon as we got home he asked me to try and fix it for him. When I really took a good look at it, I was in shock at how bad it was!

I was helped by Sarah and she did a great job on my hair cut. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with the top but I knew I wanted a low fade, so she worked with the scissors and it came out really clean and fits the style I’m going for. I recommend this place because it’s pretty affordable since it’s the same price as other companies.

Phoebe did a wonderful job styling my hair for my birthday weekend! I got a wash, curl, and braids for a very reasonable price. Phoebe was very friendly, personable, and was very enjoyable to talk to! She took her time and did everything she could to ensure I walked out of the salon happy, I’ll definitely be back to visit her again!

I usually went to gr8 clips, seems every time I went there to get s return haircut ? The person moved on .They were slower than molasses.Premier cuts was the 3rd place I checked into that day. I always get great haircuts from Phoebe. I came in and asked to cut my mid back length hair into a pixie cut and she did an amazing job. I understand this is a more daunting cut for most people, but Phoebe handled it with ease and professionalism. She walked me through every step and I’m so happy with the turn out!

Love Velma, I dont go anywhere else anymore and I only let her cut my hair and my husbands hair too. She always does a great job and listens to what we want done. great communication while cutting as well to make sure its short enough etc.

I had an excellent experience at Premier Cuts yesterday. The entire staff was just amazing. The receptionist is very prompt and friendly. I had my hair cut by Velma and she did a great job! Overall a great experience and I will definitely be going again.

This business takes walk-ins and advertises that they are open till 7pm.I showed up at 6:40pm was refused service and told they were closed.Customer service at this establishment is nonexistent. When I questioned their hours of operation the receptionist stated they had appointments ahead of me. Dude, there was no one waiting to get a haircut. No one. I wont be going back to that establishment.

Good customer service and patience on my soon to be 11 month old baby boy... stylist did an amazing job and love that there is a private room for the toddlers to keep the focused on the cartoons.

San Marcos store staff was fantastic. COVID-19 safe and all precautions taken. More than pleased with the haircut and prices.

I asked for my hair to stay past my shoulders but instead of an inch off my hair they cut off 5, and with curls added to that my hair is far above my shoulders I’m really upset about it it took me long enough to grow my hair out just for them to take it all away in seconds. My hair looks like a bowl.Update I just straightened my hair and one side is drastically shorter than the other. I’m so disappointedDon’t come here if you have curly hair.

I love my haircut! I didnt get her name but it was cut by a young lady 2 chairs behind the register and she did a fantastic job. I she listened to my concerns and has a very artistic eye for hair styling. 10/10

Had my haircut with Tyler last night. This guy is the real deal. Took his time, and it paid off. it was as if I was a member of Outkast cause my cut was “so fresh and so clean!” Definitely use this guy fellas! Freakin Edward scissorhands over there!

The atmosphere is good and the staff is polite, but the gentleman that did my sons hair no longer works there, and because he no longer works there the haircut the lady gave my son was not as great as when the guy stylist did it. The way the guy cut his hair was absolutely amazing.

Went in and got my 16m.o daughters first hair cut. She was super patient and accommodating. Even got my hair cut while daughter sat in my lap which was also no problem. I think her name was stephanie... either way friendly customer service.

I wish someone would have let me know of the pricing before hand. I had the idea that getting my hair braided would be $13 ( which it is stated on the wall), but I was charged double just because I got two braids (also who gets one braid? That’s not a very popular hair style). It was an unprofessional and judgmental environment. If the haircuts are priced at $10, why is my 15 minute hair braiding appointment twice as much? My braids look amazing and the lady was very nice..... but as soon as I started talking about how I do not believe in teaching traditional Christmas traditions to kids (such as Santa Clause), I felt like my hairdresser did not like me and wanted to hurry up and finish so I could leave. I was very friendly and was not trying to pick a fight. My opinions are valid and as an intuitive person, she was giving off judging vibes towards me. I also did not want to pick a fight about how I did not want to pay $26 for a service I felt uncomfortable by. I honestly have never paid more than $15 to get my hair braided, especially to a chain hair salon. I am giving Two stars because this is my honest review and opinion. This is a customer service job and it is so important to make your customers feel like they are in a judge-free zone by a comfortable and friendly experience of their service.

Went for a simple haircut, was told they do walk-ins only. Walked in the door and BOOM Julia will take care of you right now 😃. Julia did a great job and gave me exactly what I needed for this Texas heat. May have been simple but she was fast and did it perfectly. Definitely making this place my new go-to hair care facility.

Premier cuts in San Marcos is the place to be! I was greeted by the most sweetest receptionist ever, Ashley. She was a great joy!! She asked me about my day, got to know me personally and treated me like family!! Ashley and Sam were amazing! Samantha gave me one of the best hair cuts I had in awhile. If you want to get treated like family and get treated with Premier service, I highly recommend this place with these amazing workers!

Walked in to get a much needed hair cut. Was greeted right away and taken back no wait! Tracy was friendly and knowledgeable with my concerns as I have a lot of hair and havent had it done in a long time. Showed her a few pics of what I wanted and she went right to it!! She did a great job with a dry cut. Takes a great experienced stylist to work with thick long hair but to do a great dry cut is definitely a true sign of a master stylist. Thank you.

Clean salon and smiling faces when I walked in yesterday. I called ahead to verify the wait time and got in without waiting. Julie gave me an updated style and I left knowing I will return again. Pricing is very fair. Julie took her time and did not rush me one bit. Between the customer service and the experience, this salon is a winner in my book.

I been coming here for years. I am a big fan of Wednesdays because its cheaper for mens haircuts. Sarah and Ben(he is not longer there) are/were my go to hairstylist.Long Story: My first year in SM I spent a good year looking for someone who could work with my hair. I have thin straight hair that is really hard to work with(damn you Mexican genetics). My first time experience here was bad, oddly enough, Sarah was my stylist, I believe it was around the time she first started to work there too. I came a second time because I was checking out the pawn shop next door. This time Ben gave me a hair cut. Man did that guy know his stuff inside and out. He told me what to do to manage my hair AND BEARD! Everything he said work. Well after that I kept coming here. Sarah continues to be my go to stylist for haircuts because she is just awesome.

Great place. Pricing is fair. I recieved a waxing (lip and eyebrow) and i was presently surprised. I also was able to recieve the slit in my eyebrow like i asked with no issue which i really appreciated. I came with my sister who also had a pleasant experience. Great service overall.

I absolutely love them! They are the only ones I trust with my sons hair since his first haircut. They made it so extra special by providing a certificate that also holds the first lock cut! Sarah especially is amazing. My son is usually touchy about his hair but he loves Sarah. My fiance and I love the prices and weve never gone anywhere else!

Allow me to take a moment to recommend Amy for cutting hair AND she does an AMAZING job at trimming up my beard. I am in sales, so it is important for me to maintain a professional image. The amount of money Ive profited off of the quality of work she has done on me has probably covered all my future haircuts until it ceases growing.The only con about this place is that the parking lot looks like Day 1 of a drivers education course, but Id say that is out of their hands!

This place is amazing! I recently started getting my haircut here first by Amy when I just wanted bangs and then Julie when I decided to cut all my hair off. This place is fast and extremely affordable and I have loved every haircut. I have been to a couple of places around San Marcos where I paid about $50 for just a trim, whereas I walked into Premier Cuts with hair down to my mid-back and walked out with a cute, short style for just about $20 (tip included). Velma did a great job by first asking if I was sure (making sure I wasnt coming in post break-up or something) and checking with me about the length each time she cut before going shorter. It was an amazing price and great cut-- the communication and care from staff was great.

I only get my haircut about twice a year, and premier cuts is always my go-to. This time I was helped by Sarah- who has patience like a saint. I changed my mind like three or four times during the actual haircut and she took it in stride. All of the staff are super friendly, and are very skilled. I would recommend this salon to anybody.

Premier Cuts has been my go to hair salon for the last 4 years I attended Texas State and will continue to be as I make my way through Grad. School. I have had haircuts with most of the staff and there are great things to say about all of them. As a male, I really feel like Ben does a great job and has insightful things to say about what it takes to attain the hair youve always wanted but never thought possible. Furthermore, this place is super affordable! Frankly I would still come here if it were more expensive. RECOMMEND.

I love Premier Cuts. They do a great job at a GREAT PRICE. I showed them a picture of what Ive been trying to get with my hair and they got it right the very first time. Happy place, wonderful vibe and the stylists are the best. Dont go to the expensive salons when you can get the same great cut, style and service at Premier Cuts. They rock!!!

I went here because my usual lady was booked. I searched and found that this place had good reviews, so I figured Id give it a try. Honestly it felt like I was on an assembly line. I walked in and was simply asked for my name; I wasnt greeted and asked if Id been there before. I was then ushered to the back. The lady didnt even bother to tell me her name. Now I am not very good at describing how I like my hair cut because my usual lady knows what I want, but I tried my best. She cut extremely fast with barely anything said. The whole process was at maximum 5 minutes long. I felt very pressured and like they wanted to just be done with me. They didnt wash or blow-dry it. My cut cost $13 and I gave a $2 tip; I pay $15 usually and get a great cut with a wash and drying. In retrospect I shouldnt have tipped them. Nobody even noticed my hair cut as barely any was removed. Im not going back.

I get my haircut every Thursday. Great service, I look forward every week.

I got a conditioning treatment and a trim today by Velma! She was very attentive and did exactly what I asked her to. Ive been unhappy with other places Ive gone because they didnt really seem to listen to what I wanted to get done. The prices were super reasonable and there was hardly a wait. I was in town for a Texas State football game and needed to kill time. Across the street was this haircut place. Their staff was quick and very patient with my two daughters. They even had a cute little airplane chair for the girls to sit in. They got to watch a movie during their haircut and had so much fun. I recommend using this place if youre in the area.

I take my three kids to get haircuts with Ben, he is great and does a great job every time. The staff is always friendly and cheery. I have been taking my boys to this location about a year and a half now and would not take them anywhere else. I have two teen boys who are very particular with their hair and Ben gets it right every time.

I always get a consistently good haircut from here. They always have coupons at the grocery store and its hard to beat a good, cheap haircut on $10 Wednesdays. I dont know why they give better haircuts at Premier Cuts in San Marcos but they do, and have for the 5 years Ive been going there.

When I first moved to San Marcos in 2008, I wasnt sure where to get my hair cut. I decided to try out Premier Cuts on Aquarena Springs simply because it was close to my apartment. I instantly fell in love and made this my go-to salon! The staff was so welcoming and friendly and continues to be to this day. Ive never had a bad experience and I love their monthly coupons/deals they offer on their website! If you dont have a go-to salon in San Marcos, I highly recommend giving Premier Cuts a shot!

Im only giving 1 star because no star wasnt an option. Went in for a trim and some long layers added to frame my face and give it more body. The gentleman who cut my hair first drenched it and then proceeded to cut. He trimmed the back as requested and then proceeded to butcher the front. It took him less than 5 minutes to cut and destroy, and 10 minutes to tell me about how to handle the frizz in my hair. When he was done he twirled my still very wet hair into a roll and placed it on my shoulder and said all done. Firstly I was shaken by the abrupt end of the hair cut, but more disturbed by the lack of drying or even a mirror to show me the back. None of the above happened. I paid and left to go home to blow dry and survey the damage. Driving home I thought maybe it would be manageable. DEAD WRONG. The entire front was about 3 inches shorter than the back and it was shortened to one length. Not blended or layered in. ONE length. It took 3 years to grow my hair out and less than ten to destroy it. I called them back in tears to let them know what happened and it wasnt until the woman on the phone heard my cries that she apologized. I spoke with the manager Velma a day later and she didnt not apologize once. I emailed her pics of the damage and again, no apology. If you have long hair, avoid Premier cuts at all costs. I really didnt go in thinking it would be great, but I also didnt foresee being in tears. Lesson learned. Please take heed and learn from my mistake.

Ive gone to a few different hair salons around San Marcos and Premier Cuts is by far my favorite place to go. The employees are always friendly and treat me with respect. This is the one place Ive been where I havent been questioned about how short I keep my hair which is really nice. Im definitely looking forward to my next visit!

Their stylist Jennifer Lynn is absolutely horrible. Worst bedside manner ever. She treated me like I was an idiot and literally told me that the haircut I wanted was unfeminine, weird, and ugly. When I tried to explain, she kept interrupting me to insist that what I wanted wasnt possible. She ended up doing a TERRIBLE job on my hair (not as if I didnt see it coming) and I went straight to another salon for someone else to give me the cut I originally asked for. I ended up happy -- finally -- but at the hands of a different stylist. I wouldnt go back to that rude, socially-inept hairdresser if they paid me to. I mean, who says that to a customer?! Thanks for nothing, Jennifer.

Every time I come in everyone is always so friendly and helpful to all my questions. I usually come in for a quick in-and-out haircut because most places take FOREVER. Also, it takes forever to make appointments where as this place you can just walk in, if you need to, and you dont have to wait long at all.

Listen. Julie saved my hair guys. She saved it. It was so botched and horrible before. I got it cut at a different location and it wasn’t done right. So I went back to have it “fixed” and then the lady did 3 different layers all uneven. I looked like a 3 year old got ahold of scissors.....I came into Premiere Cuts and she put some magic on it. My husband and kids have been getting their hair cut here for years now. The stylists have come and gone, but theyve always been kind, helpful, and very skilled. I wouldnt dream about using any other salon in the city. Ive gotten sub-par service and worse cuts at other places, but Ive always been happy with this the haircuts from this salon.
