They will hilariously offer you to buy a CD version of your overpriced textbook after waiting literally an entire month for it to come in. After being told its been back ordered for weeks straight and wasting so much of my time, they cancel it once they figured that its missing an entire month after the order has been placed.
I know everyone’s trying their best, but I have ordered my books a fat minute ago and I still have not been able to receive them. I need my books for my classes asap and it’s kind of hard to do so when my books are not ready to be picked up... PLUS they don’t answer the phone EVER. Okay
Less than a week before summer classes start and books that are needed are still not on shelves and workers admit to them staying boxed up. Online hours that are on the website do NOT match up to what the actual operating hours are. Second trip to San Marcos just to be disappointed, again, and not able to obtain my textbook before the start of classes solely because workers do not want to unbox them yet. Hours are MON-FRI 8-5. SAT&SUN CLOSED.
The bookstore is good if you want to buy Texas state apparel but don’t buy your books here. They are WAY over priced and you can get them way cheaper on amazon or Chegg. I ordered a book through them and they told me it would be in within a week, two weeks later and my book still isn’t here & it’s the 4th week of school, I need it for an exam, it’s ridiculous.
4 stars for convenience. 0 stars for quality. Every semester they have failed to have an adequate number of books in stock and the jack the prices WAY up. For example, buying your online homework subscription from Pearson (or sapling or whatever) is 60 bucks but at the bookstore will cost 100. These numbers are made up because everything is priced differently but the situation isnt. Dont know why the school is trying to make a fortune off of its students when it already collects a substantial amount of money from us in the form of tuition and fees, but expect heavy markups for this purpose if you choose to shop here.
Service was great, fast, and easy! Until I went to go check out the girl gave me a warning about the professor I was taking, which I didnt need knowing its too late to back out. She did say good luck though
The bookstore employees on the second floor do not care to help you order books that are not in stock. Also I hate that you cant even go find your own books yourself, we are not children. The people on the first floor are always sweet. Its a mixed bag
Nice little store. Full of neat surprises on many shelves. The prices are not too bad considering...
Its a great place to get all your school supplies at a premium. Since it is on campus it will have higher prices but thats a premium youll pay if you do not have the time to wait for a book or an access code to be shipped in. Other than that its great!
Answer the phone
Great discount bin! Cool products. Well be back for shirts and decals.
Ridiculous prices. Never go here unless you absolutely have to. Amazon is your best friend. (Also ask the front desk people at Alkek they normally have what you need for free)
Emailed them on Friday. They were closed for Memorial Day weekend, so I didnt expect to hear back from them until Tuesday. Today is Wednesday, and I still havent received a reply to my email. Called them. Phone rang for ten minutes, then someone hurriedly answered and said shed have to put me on hold. I was on hold for twenty minutes before I just gave up. The reason I was calling? No gift certificates for sale on the bookstore website for graduation presents, etc. Ill just send an Amazon gift card, from what Ive read, books are cheaper there anyway.
Courteous, professional, and eager to go the extra mile the staff at TSU bookstore are the finest to deal with. I base this opinion on my dealings at other institutions where hassle and last minute panic are the norm.Thank you TSU staff, yall ROCK. Eat em up cats!
They do a good job at keeping all the books they need in stock and are always very helpful.
Best place to buy everything you need for school, except books. Buy those somewhere else.
I went for a tour of the University. When the second slideshow was done, my Mom, my sister and I went to the bookstore, and I bought this wicked cap! Only $10.83!
I ordered an e-textbook. Even though the website accepted my address. This website seems to only accept orders from local address (although an e-textbook is a digital file). At least I didnt pay directly with my card.
Waaayy overpriced!! They wanted $150 for a used paperback book that was max $38 new anywhere else.
Overpriced books (obviously). But also never open when their dtore hours dictate and they dont have the specified inventory they said they would.
Amazing place for students and good quality merchandise
Its a nice store.
Expensive, and long lines. Just go on Amazon.
Expensive asf but cute stuff
Large selection of items with a friendly staff.
Overpriced. This store relies on new and ignorant students overpaying for Required Textbooks.
Offers a wide variety of items for students. Prices are too bad compared to other places. Always had things on sale in the clothing areas!
Overpriced on nearly everything.
They suck and very rude
Way overpriced.
Had a clearance section.
Wide selection of souvenirs and apparel
Friendly atmosphere
Renovating interior
Expensive
