My 2 star review description somehow got deleted from here, so now it’s a 1 star review. They had been rude and short over the phone. They kept quoting me for a bigger truck than I needed as though they didn’t want to hear me. U-haul underpays it’s employees (close to minimum wage) and that becomes very clear when you visit a great majority of their locations. This location literally use to cause me major problems with my reservations never being reserved, saying it’s “First come, first served” like they don’t know what the word “Reserve” means.
Go anywhere else. They cant get a name right on the account. Insisted on renting under a spouses name, when he didnt make the reservation. Worst customer service Ive ever seen. Go literally anywhere else.
I made a reservation for a trailer one month in advance. I even went in and the worker told me I was “all set”. The day before my pickup, they called me and told me they had no trailers within 100 miles. When I asked what the point of making a reservation was, they told me it was just a “reservation request”. They told me the only thing they had was a truck and it was three times the cost of the trailer. This place sucks.
I had to go to L.A. to pick up a machine and called up a couple days in advance to reserve a pickup, check in went easily, the truck was modern and clean and I had no troubles except L.A traffic.
Most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had at uhaul. I made a reservation for a trailer hitch install, was told 30 minutes. When I showed up they told me there was 1 car in front of me and they would need 3 hours. After calling to check in 2 1/2 hours later they told me it was not complete and that a “bunch” of other walk-in vehicles we now in front of me and they wouldn’t get to mine until the next day. What’s the point in making a reservation if you get bumped to the back of the line every time someone walks in and wants the same job done? Ridiculous!! After a few strong words, I took my car back and will never do business with them again.
I reserved auto tow trailer 3 weeks in advance, checked in person at store two days before that we were OK. Day of rental my trailer has nail in tire they did not discover until I was there to load the trailer, they would not swap tire, would not rent me other trailer that was there, they locate trailer 45 miles south (Oxnard - I was headed north to Stockton). transferred reservation, while I was enroute to that trailer u-haul dispatch calls and says that trailer is no longer available. I explain what has happened. They are not aware my previous trailer had a problem. I am placed on hold, 5 minutes later I am directed to return to this store and a trailer is available for me. In the end, got trailer, got car delivered. But if you really need to count on this place, you are taking a chance.
We had a bit of an issue with the trailer that we rented for today due to a miscommunication on the Uhaul customer service line. But after about 30 minutes of brainstorming and the Uhaul rep (George) helping us out he figured it out.Thanks again George. We deeply appreciate it.
Tight lot and long waits... I knew that, but since their location is close to my house, i thought i would give them a chance with propane for my class C RV. After 20 minutes of waiting (still not yet to the counter) I was asked if I could move my RV up in this parking lot queue. When doing so, I asked the attendant where I should maneuver for the propane fill. His answer, we might not be able to do it tonight (over 2 hrs until closing) due to the parked trucks scattered in the way. I had to go to my standard location about 10 miles away, but in the end that place was a pleasant experience.

Wow - it doesnt get worse than this. I walk in, and two guys are working. One is just sitting on his phone. The other greets me, and asks for my information. I was fifteen minutes early, and so he said I couldnt have my truck because it wasnt there yet, even though there were CLEARLY two keys behind him for the truck size I ordered. He told me I would have to wait until my truck came back. I asked if I could just have one of those trucks instead, and he said no, and told me to wait. Ten minutes later, he says that my truck is late, so hell give me a different one. Almost like I had just come up with that idea moments before! Wasting my time! The truck was fine, but the staff is rude, stupid, and inconsiderate. Would not recommend.
Probably as good as any U-Haul can be. The truck we rented was fine, not super clean but functional. They were nice with us coming in late and didnt charge.
The atmosphere at this place is calm and they make the process easy. Rented several times from them and had no problems and only positive experiences.
They know what they are doing and dont try and screw you over or anything but they are just like every other small uhaul place. Not enough people. You pretty much need to expect to wait in line for a bit. If they maybe hire a couple more workers and get one more computer, maybe they would deserve more stars.
Just amazing people to work with and made our moving easy! Their equipment is newer and trucks are very comfortable. THANK YOU!!!
Both the manager (Angela or Anne?) and John were very helpful in getting me sorted out and on my way. I was somewhat panicked in that I assumed the trailer I had reserved would be ready in the morning. I received a text from U Haul that it wouldnt be ready until 4:30 pm on the day of the reservation. That would have been a disaster for me. The manager scrambled around and called the customer who had the trailer out and got them to return it early. She was a life saver. My advice--if you reserve online, consider picking it up a day early.
The customer service was AWEFUL. The day I was suppose to pick up my rental, they called and said it wasnt available. They didnt offer any solutions until I suggested some, then they wrongly charged my card. The lock on the back of the truck wasnt provided. Every time I called them, they would take my number down and promise a call back, but surprise, no one called me back. To top it all off, they over charged me $60 after they already overcharged my rate. This location is horrible and I wouldnt recommend it.
The manager at this location is amazing... I had some issues with the U-Haul call center and she took care of every issue and even called me at my finale destination in Las Vegas. I dont know how things were in the past but Anne will take care of everything..
Very nice and friendly, they saved our moving day since the other U-Haul in the are cancelled our reservation the same day without any notice.
I was quite apprehensive to use this Uhaul due to prior experiences of slow service and also with the reviews I read, I was scared. But, we were in a bind and needed a truck. I was VERY happy with the quick, efficient service and processing of paperwork etc. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes both to pick up the truck and to drop it off (It did take me longer to just buy boxes here on a different occasion though so beware).Therefore, I have to give it 5 stars because I honestly cant imagine a better Uhaul experience.
Its a uhaul.. I got a truck, moved, and returned it no problems. Service was slow, the online reservation wasnt ready on time for pickup, return inspection was snail paced.
Basic, efficient, friendly. Also fills propane tanks at good prices and service.
They are little slow especially if they have a number of customers. Sort of expect it when you are dealing with truck rentals. However, if you are just there to buy packing materials then they really should just have aline for that.
Went in to rent a car trailer, gave all the info and had to purchase a hitch so I did. They didnt have the electrical adapter so I drove to Oreilly and came back only to find out that they couldnt let me rent the trailer because of the car (which I originally described) wasnt allowed on it. So I said okay and told them I didnt need the hitch and THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME FOR IT!!! I had to argue with them saying that since they messed up and told me everything was good I shouldnt have to pay. After goin back and forth, they gave in and said okay. I mean why did I have to argue my case when they messed up? Avoid!!
They have lots of boxes and other moving supplies available. Also - when you reserve a truck - they actually keep and honor the reservation.

I rented a truck here for two days. I drove it from the rental agency to my home on the mesa and then to downtown once and back to the rental agency. They charged me for 75 miles after I returned the truck. Beware of the lady/owner/operator in there. She WILL screw you. Take photos of the truck and odometer before and after you rent the truck to cover your butt! Would never rent from them again.

U Haul is a joke! I made a GUARANTEED RESERVATION on April 10, more than two months in advance, for a 10 truck for June 14. The day before, I called to confirm that everything was set and I would get it at the Goleta pick up location. Several hours later, I receive a call telling me if I want a 10 truck, I have to drive to OJAI- over an hour away! I refused to add two hours to a moving day, especially since I had the GUARANTEED RESERVATION for over two months. I was sent to this location where I was forced to take a 15 truck, twice as big as I needed to move my daughters studio apartment. They had plenty of 10 trucks sitting in the lot but refused to rent me one. They said if I waited until Wed I could have one. Bullsh*t. Never again, UHaul. Penske, here comes my business!
Worst experience ever!! From the start I should have known this was not going to go well. Long short, rented truck from Ventura, called day before to pick up in SB, ding ding red flag. Now they did compensate for the miles to pick it up so we accommodated the inconvenience. 45 mins into our 300mile trip up north, the truck breaks down! My husband sat on the side of the road for 8 hours first waiting for roadside assistance, then a tow truck to take it to a location to have alllll our items repacked into a new truck. (Which the uninsured unlicensed company they sent damaged all of our wood items and washer/dryer then denied it) Meanwhile myself, sister, 2 dogs, my 2 year old and 5 month old arrive at our new house with no items to sleep on or fridge to put food in. Uhual puts us in a dirty, drug deals in the parking lot Ramada for the night while my husband drives over night 8 hours so that we have our things to move in the next day.Now a sane mind would think there would be some financial compensation for the loss of an entire work day for my husband ($300), the food expenses that accompanied not being in our home (roughly $70 for the 2 days) and a broken down truck we paid $1000 for...think again! I spent a total month getting the run around, this department, that department, the manager of the location completely Ignoring my messages, all for a rep to tell me uhh sorry nothing we can do about the movers damaging all of your wood items, you signed a waiver (like I was going to have my husband load a 26ft truck by himself :/), and ya you returned the truck on time (it was over a weekend) so there isnt grounds for a refund....seriously?!If I thought I could get any reasonable response I would continue, but it doesnt sound like I can do anything to convince them that this was not a $1000 moving experience we paid for. Absolutely shocked people can do business this way. Please take the warnings of these reviews and DO NOT rent a moving truck from here :(

Stay Away from these Guys.. We reserved a truck 2 weeks in advice. Only to find just before our move that they will have no truck for me at all.. We have about $4,000 in the move that Uhaul and this Local Operator on Holster cost me.. Do not Rent from this guy at all. He will mislead you and the Lie.! Stay Away from Uhaul.
Unfortunately it takes a lot of time to book a rental with this office, the persons answering the phone are slow, not easy to communicate with.......they dont know the inventory or the difference between a car trailer or a furniture trailer.
They told me the day of that they didnt have my reservation and issued me $50. $50 day of is too late notice to find something else.
Not great food, but I was able to move my queen bed pretty easily.

Worst 2 moving experiences with this U-haul. We have used this place twice and on each occasion the employees have been extremely rude and difficult. They do not follow U-Hauls corporate box return/exchange program that is stated on their website. Will never use them again or recommend to anyone!

They charged us $6 in fuel fees on a 10 mile rental trip because they misread the gauge. My complaint got me nowhere. Avoid those pirates.
