Listed a promo on their homepage for 4K Security Systems (see photo). When I went to purchase a 4K Security System the site told me not valid (see photo). I chatted with Angie Anguilar who stated that the special was not for this system. I told her it was a 4K Security System as defined by the promo on the website. She refused to budge so I asked for phone # for corporate. I called and asked for a manager. Was rudely told there was not one available and was hung up on.

Purchased a Swann Communication Security System with DVR and cameras. Worked for about six months and DVR went out.Contacted Swann for assistance with either replacement or repair. I was told that I could send an email to the company but there was very little they could do. They told me they were very aware that the unit I had had issues but that I would need to replace the DVR at my expense. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told I could send an email but he could not connect me to a manager.Very poor customer service very poor product!DO NOT BUY SWANN SECURITY PRODUCTS!!! Terrible company!!

They do not stand behind their product. My NVR8-8580 DVR started failing with a hard drive error about twice a month. I called them about it and thats when they should have had me send it in. I know they know it was going to fail. I didnt however. They told me to plug it into the wall socket and not use a surge protector so I did. It still did it about twice a month and then finally failed and wouldnt boot up at all but now it was a month out of a warranty and they wouldnt give me any kind of break on the price of a new one. My next shop will NOT have Swann products. This review is a result of them not giving me anything off the price of another one. I told you guys I would inform others. All you had to do was go half on that DVR, Swann. I would have accepted that. But you are not the kind of business to stand behind your faulty product it seems.

Regarding Swann 8 Camera 8 Channel Motion Sensor Lights Package, SWDVK-845808WL. Purchased less than a week ago, installed over the past 2 days. I purchased the 8 camera motion sensor lights package. NONE of this cameras motion sensing lights work. Spoke to tech support, they dont know anything, this is a perfect example of a bait & switch OR falsifying a product that NEVER delivers. I am wondering if anyone even notices the Motion Sensing Option does NOT work, I am sending this GARBAGE back. I specifically purchased these cameras for the Motion Sensing light option alone, that is the BEST line of defense on prowlers, thiefs, etc. Get a CLUE Swann, if it doesnt work, dont offer it in the list of options for that 8 camera package

Wishing I would have read the other reviews before purchasing a DVR. Worst thing I have ever done....and when you call customer service, they do not know what they are doing. They ask you to connect and disconnect things that have nothing to do with the system.

I bought the NVR two camera security system to which you can add on two more cameras. Prior to buying I confirmed that additional cameras are available and can be added to the system and I assured they were available and can be added. Some time after installing the system I decided to add a third camera, but the same camera was nowhere to be found. I contacted Swann and at first they offered to sell me an older model, which I could have bought myself. Later they said the same camera model as my system was available in their warehouse and they would make one available to me but I would have to pay $52 shipping, which would not have been the case if I were able to buy it from Home Depot, who sells Swann products and where I bought the original system (they said the camera was not available from retailers and could not tell me when it would be available again). Total cost to me for the camera was going to be $152 (US) but the entire system originally cost $299 (US), so $152 just for the camera makes no sense (the original system included two cameras, 1 TB NVR and cables). Even though its high, I was willing to pay $99 for the camera but not the shipping because the issue was created by Swann. However, they dug in their heals and would not pick the shipping. Ill never buy another products from Swann. If you happen to buy a Swann product and run into after sales problem, dont expect help from Swann. They appear to be only interested in initial sale and then its your problem. Do not buy Swann products.

I emailed Swann for a RMA number so I could return a defective camera. They replied with a long list of things they expected me to do and send to them before they would even consider granting a return authorization. Clearly the response was designed to dissuade people from pursuing a return by making it more trouble than its worth.This is what they demanded of me before they would consider replacing a camera thats only worth about $50:----------------------------------------------------Please attach an image of the following for further assessment.Image showing the issue you reportedMonitor or TV showing the live view on the same channel during daytime (including phone and computer access if possible)Monitor or TV showing the live view on the same channel during nighttime (including phone and computer access if possible)Where the camera is mountedWhere the cables are running throughWhere the recorder is placedBack panel of the recorder; enough for us to see all connections---------------------------------------------------------I replied that I wasnt going to waste my time with this unnecessary exercise because I had (as I mentioned in my first email) already swapped out the camera and resolved the problem, so there was no other issue with my system but the camera. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! So many 1 star reviews for good reason, in 2 calls I spent over an hour n a half on hold. Then when someone finally responds English is clearly a second language because he couldnt comprehend what the situation was and just kept repeating himself. Finally he said he couldnt help me unless I bought a computer and had internet installed........what kind of tech company cant do technical jobs through an app these days?

Terrible customer service. This is twice that they have failed to call me back for my IT consultation. Two of my cameras keep going on and off. They can’t seem to figure out the problem and they handoff their customer service to India to cut corners. Not impressed at all.

Customer service non-existent, virtually and in reality. System went out due to THEIR platform updates, but at my cost. Ordered a new DVR weeks ago but it never arrived, no tracking number, and SWANN has not returned any of my many calls and emails.

I purchased a Swann Security System directly through Swann Communications. It has a bar on the purchasing screen advertising a 10% discount off of your first order so I jumped through all of their hoops for the discount and didn’t receive anything. I cancelled the order and was told I would get a refund payment within 24-48 hours. It did NOT happen. I called LIZ at Swann and she said the refund was deposited, to call my bank, I called my bank and they denied that Swann refunded the money. I immediately contacted Swann again, talked to SHARON, I was then informed that Swann never released the refund. I left a negative review on the product, Swann removed the negative review so I just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I would NEVER deal with Swann products EVER again !!!!!

Recently purchased new home. Had one of your Wi-Fi devices attached to the very front. They make it virtually impossible to change from the past user. So it is virtually useless. It is basically a overpriced motion light.! Get it together! The app is complete trash. It will ask you for a password so if you click off to your notes to check the password and go back to the app you have to start all over from the beginning. That’s how garbage it is!!!!

I have had so many problems with 1080p Spotlight Outdoor Security Camera - Twin PackThe customer service is good. however, their Tech Customer Service is horrible; they are impatient and condescending. My system goes offline a lot, and then I must go outside, climb a ladder to reset the cameras again.If you give them a bad review, they will edit your review and make you sound like an idiot.Do not buy!!

Installed a 16 channel 10 camera system from Best buy. I will say that their tech support is fairly easy to get ahold of. However they are hard sometimes understand do to English not being their primary language. But after the install I keep having multiple issues that have gone unresolved. I had a Armcrest system prior to this Swann that was flawless. I just needed a larger system. From my experience if you want reliability you may want to look at other options before choosing Swann.

Dont waste you time buying these low quality products. Ever since they sold the company, the customer service is bad. They dont know what they are doing. You ask a question they dont have a clue. They send refurbished items when what you bought was defective and when you paid for NEW and the replacement is worse than what you sent the defective product in for.

My gosh, it was going perfectly until it wasnt. Bought the cameras ~9 months ago to put up at my moms house on the other side of the country to help monitor the home health aids. After working spectacularly well, they are now requiring a new app. Downloaded the new app, cant login to my old account and now I have to go across country just to activate the stupid camera into SwannSecurity. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I would like to escalate attention to our case # 00340606. Regarding order # 200054227. Label created for the order on 5/21 and canceled on 6/5. My husband called US based customer service on two separate occasions in June and was told that he would receive a call back, he did not ask for and was not give a case #. There was no progress made, additional details given, or corrective action by Swann associates. It is now July, inventory has arrived at our business and we do not have a critical piece of the facility: security cameras. I called (Samia Kamran) and spoke to Fernando yesterday 7/2. He was patient and listened, he assured me he would handle the situation and call me back later on the day. I expressed my interest, as the customer of Swann products to be given an escalation. I do not want to wait for the standard research process, communication with the inbound operations and resolution with the UPS. We are past those options in regards to the timeline and failing on two previous customer service contacts is a quantifiable reason for escalation past standard CS procedures. When Fernando called me back, again he was patient and professional, where he failed was in providing any additional details over those I had supplied him several hours earlier. I was quiet and listened a he explained that the operations is not answering, they are heading out for the holiday and he has to complete the standard research. As a customer that DOES NOT ADD VALUE, poor operational execution, warehouse management practices, inventory scanning, researching the WMS locations that my order was packed....I dont care about any of that 6 weeks after the order was placed and our money changed hands. He spoke broadly, its possible it was lost, its possible it was not picked up, its possible it was delivered to the wrong address. There is no transactional proof of any of that and its frustrating that the hours that passed between the first call and the return call yielded no new information, just a dog barking in his background. FROM A CUSTOMERS perspective, the only variable that changed between call1 and call 2 was that operations had left for holiday. That is not helpful to me and $1,700 later, choosing to stay with Swann (we have had Swann in our current building for ~8yrs) vs buying the ADT cameras was a bad idea.From a corporate perspective I am challenging that the customer service process of which Fernando represents the CS point of contact has an innate conflict of interest. What is an acceptable level of customer service? If it is was the experience that I received, it is very poorly defined. Id like to be contacted regarding my experience by someone other than Fernando. Someone with more authority, vested interest in the value stream and driving customer loyalty with flawless operational execution and strong customer service practices. If I had not asked for the case # he would not have given it, there is something too one sided about your process. Samia

Horrible Customer ServiceIWhen you call, you have to wait at least 30 minutes. The person that finally answers, is difficult to understand and asks the most basic questions generated from a computer. They cannot help with simple problems. They refer you to Level 2 technicians who are too busy to talk to you and will call you back on their schedule! They are polite. The only good thing that I can say.

Sneaky, Deceitful, conniving, manipulative, and underhanded, are just a few words that come to my mind when I think of Swann Communications. Sleazy is a kind word for such a horrible, horrible, horrible, company. You get the idea.1 The pictures on eBay are no good, different than the items sent. multiple times.2 Their product is no good, defective items sent. multiple times3 Their return phone number is no good. called multiple times4 Their word is no good. multiple times5 Their attempts to pay to have bad reviews removed is sleazy.As you can see from the photos, It appears they deliberately damaged the box on this second order. No wonder the items were damaged when received. Obviously, this was done on purpose, they were angry that they were unable to exploit me on the first order. This box was smashed over, and over, and over. This was not some accident, this damage was done on purpose.It doesnt get any worse than this. Swann Communications has got to be the sleaziest company ever.Swann Communications has proven time and again, they absolutely have no standards.Avoid at all costs

If I could select a zero I would. After receiving the RMA number and the return was accepted at their facility in CA, their excuse for not refunding is my card is expired. My card is not expired as it is my everyday used card that was used the same day they said it was expired.

Swann Communications USA Inc.Bought a 4 camera 8 channel Not happy. Internet went out and my and my system stopped working. So I called the hotline for help, took over a hour to talk to someone. Was told I would have to pay for a update and that would cost more than what I paid for the system. So I have in the closet now. They are the robbers not the people who you think are going to break into your house.

Not worth the money. Spent $720 on a 4 camera system for our home. Then spent hours running wires in terribly tight conditions. The video quality is OK. However, the software is unreliable. Constant problems with push notifications not coming through. The UI is absolutely horrible and whoever is responsible for it should be embarrassed. I am tech savvy and had a terrible time figuring out the settings. My wife spent hours on the phone with tech support on multiple occasions attempting to resolve the constant push notification failures. It would be resolved and a week later they would stop working. On our last attempt, we sent 4 hours on the phone with tech support and allowed the support specialist to take control of our computer in effort to download an update to our system. By the end of the call the system was frozen and would not boot up. The technician said they would send a warranty replacement. Several hours later we got an email asking us to send our device to them (at our cost) and within 10 business days of receipt, they would determine if they could replace or repair it IF the the issue was covered under warranty. Mind you, their employee is the one who caused the device to become completely inoperable. Under no circumstances would I ever buy another Swann product. Side note: Frys was absolutely wonderful to work with and resolved our frustration.

They make new cameras so you cannot replace your old camera with an outdated system its not even 2 years old! I have to buy a whole new system to replace that one camera. I had so many software system glitches that needs a major upgrade! Software glitches included stop recording without you ever knowing, blank camera feed. It seems small but when you need to review a crime guess what? nothing recorded. Only positive feedback is it was clear imaging (1080p)and worked great at first couple months.

HORRIBLE Company to deal with. Bought one of their thermostats that quit on a Saturday morning, we’re in Florida house was up to 85 when I called. After grabbing the box an reading the side it says “24/7 customer tech support no matter how big or little the issue”. I spent 45 min on the phone “troubleshooting” the representative then stated that he needs to advance me to tier 2. I said ok please do it. Then I get “I’m sorry they are only open Monday thru Friday”. So Long story short I had to go purchase a new thermostat to get my ac working. It is now Wednesday and I still have not heard anything from this company. Be warned. They pump up their products to sell to you but be warned of their false advertising and poor customer service!

Sure wish I had read all these other reviews prior to purchasing a security system from this manufacturer.Also shame on you Northern Tool for putting this product on your shelves.Bought monitor and camera, did not even load to the monitor....should have stopped right there, but returned to Northern Tool, tried again, different issue this time...mobile app couldnt see monitor.....should have stopped again...instead tried another time....drove 40 miles one way to another Northern Tool to exchange yet again....same problem as first time....monitor would not load at all.So now Im calling customer service and theyre telling me that if I will give them my credit card number they will send me a new unit. Im asking them why I need a credit card number when Ive already paid for one unit and theyre saying to hold the money in case I dont return the defective product. I told them Im not paying to ship this product back to them. At this point Ill just take it back to Northern Tool and get my money back back.Hours of wasted time back and forth to Northern and on the telephone with Swann.Waste of time and money.

This crappy company really sucks big time. I bought there camera system from Sams Club. I been kicking myself ever since. Buy extended warranty on all there cameras. Because this crap does break down. Anytime of the day you call there is like 10 callers ahead of you. So your wait time is at least good 30 mins. They tell you we will email you, but you will never get no type of email from them. I can say is spend a little more like Samsung or Sony not this crap. If they say something make sure to get there name more likely they just fed you crap to get off the phone. *******CRAP CAMERAS******* CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE******

On 4-21-16 I bought a SWANN camera security system. After a few days I found that the cameras were defective. After 2 months Swann has not resolved this problem. Many days online or on the phone with them. I sent a letter to the USA manager and he shuffled it down-line. I called to this person the last few days and he won’t answer the phone. He made previous promises and they were not fulfilled. Look closely at reviews about this company before you buy. The Better Business Bureau has LOTS of negative reviews about SWANN. POOR PRODUCT & POOR SERVICE!!!!!

So we bought this 10 days ago and it already has issues with 3 channels. 2 channels seem to be wire issues where the corner of the picture gets distorted. Then one camera has lines which run thru it. So 6 days ago I started the request for a new cable and they still have yet to confirm they are sending me one. The customer service is the worst, The lady transferred me to a dead end instead of a manager. That was one of the many bad calls. Now the best part is the homesafe view app. This app only will give notifications if you have 4575 DVR with thermal imaging cameras. So the app which serves many dvrs only give you push notifications if you have the one system. Now I have a feeling if they can send me email alerts with my 4575 dvr and non thermal cameras then why can they not configure the app to do the same thing.
