An absolute gem of a bookstore! Locally owned with a mix of used and new books at absolutely amazing prices. Most of their books are in fantastic condition and their collection is really big. That being said, some of the nonfiction sections are stuffed with books; it can be a little hard to find a particular title you might need. But if youre looking to get lost among the shelves and buy more books than you thought you needed, this is the spot for you! Also a great location in the heart of downtown.

I go back to Treehorn time and time again because they are amazing to say the least. They have an incredible selection of books! As a graduate student who needs a constant stream of novels for my degree, this is the first place I look. Support this incredible local bookstore! You will be blown away by their selection.

Why go any further up Fourth Street when Treehorn has all the books you could ever want to read. Kinda like the Neverending Story book store but with a friendly staff and a great location. The only book store in the downtown area worth visiting.

Mind your stepOof I grumbled, hitting my head, heading the firat caution but wrapping my head against the column of worlds, illustrated with inks older than the bones in my body.I offer a gentle chuckle and usher him forward, he whips around and carries deeper into the cavern of stories and realms, any of which ready to beg the reader to decypher on more chapter.I look up from whatever bountiful artwork i was endulging in only to realize that treehorn has all of the magic, with none of the overhead cautions. It may be a tough squeeze for a Big Friendly Giant.Have a great read everyone.

Love this book store...granted some of the shelves are stacked two layers deep but it is part of the fun. This is an amazing used as well as new book seller. We have found many brilliant finds here. Even if you havent anything particular in mind, you will surely find a few unexpected treasures when just dropping in on your way by...!

Review №20

This store is the best place in Sonoma County for used and rare books. It has been here for years, and it is a small business that also caters to dealers and collectors of high end and rare books. I am very sorry to say that TODAY was a disappointing visit. I came in to scout for new additions to my collection, and the one employee was distinctly off-putting in their manner. They were not welcoming, and in fact they were reluctant, nay rude, in supplying information about the rare book section (by appointment). Their manner made it seem as if I were not a suitable customer (maybe because Im a rather young person I couldnt afford to spend a lot on my book collection?). When I informed them that indeed I have visited their rare book area!, their attitude was helpful. If this were my first visit to the store I would never want to visit again. I understand that small business are hurting after the fires and competition from large corporations. I support Treehorn, I am a frequent customer and collector of rare books and I will certainly continue to give them my patronage. I am writing this review in the hopes that those who are upset by the bad service today understand that this is not their way. This store is a gem of downtown and every other employee here that I have had the pleasure of working with is kind and helpful.

This place is a wonderland of books. Ive found some precious gems here for very reasonable prices. Sometimes I also love just wandering and browsing the aisles and book nooks, soaking in that feeling of awe and wonderment that being surrounded by libraries full of the stories and written works of thousands of humans only can. Thanks, Treehorn. Love you. 🌳📚💜

So Im not sure who is pricing these books but they are very overpriced for used books. I could definitely find similar,if not some of the same books at the thrift store. The new books are not a better deal then most other bookstores. I dont feel welcome in the store. I never really see the staff and when I do they arent very nice and never acknowledge the customers that come in.Some of the staff have friends come in to hangout with them on the job. The staff is definitely a little off putting... the only time they talk to the customers is when its time to close. Is it even safe to be in there? The books are stacked to the ceiling and thrown around all over. It is way too packed, its a mess, its unorganized, and its overwhelming. Especially around the desk where the register is. Very messy. Im not impressed with this store. I feel the only thing I like here is the lighting, but even that could be pretty dark for most people in the store. Labeling could be better.

This place is a treasure trove. I have been in here dozens of times in the last 2 years Ive lived in the area, and I can only think of once that I didnt leave with something new for my library. Lots of rare stuff, reasonable prices for used books. My only beef is that their organization system needs serious work. But if youre a bibliophile and game for hunting, this is a fun place to pass the time.

So as far as the number of books available, this place is great. Only problem is trying to find them. This shop is packed with bookshelves, but might have many layers of books behind one another on each shelf. If youre looking for something specific, youll go mad. If you are in the mood to find something you didnt know you needed to read, this is the place for you.

This used bookstore in downtown Santa Rosa has a broad collection of new and used books in a somewhat cramped space- sort of a bibliophiles dream... But smaller. As with all used bookstores the selection is eclectic and it can be tricky to find what youre looking for quickly. However, it is one of a dying breed- a good bookstore.

This bookstore is a local treasure with knowledgable, helpful staff. There is nothing quite like the smell, feel and visions associated with holding books in your hand, not something that can be replicated on a Kindle. They also take trade ins if they have need and at times purchase books in fine condition as well with a fair market value to the seller.

This is a place I highly recommend to those who like books. Also, I plan to revisit Treehorn Books because I felt welcome, they offer a plethora of books on different subjects. Bottom line, if you have an interest, whether it be leisure or to improve your marketable skills, Treehorn Books should be the first, or one of the first, places you turn to. They are likely to have something on hand that will add value or information to your quest.
