Wife and I bought some used bikes from a friend... For a few months I fought through the pain from old hard seat... FINALLY I rode my bike over to Village bikes and they swapped my seat out with a Cloud 9 seat... I love it. My wife was so impressed she had her bike seat replaced as well.. While in the store we saw another customer getting a custom cup holder installed for her oversized drink container... We continued our ride & couldn’t shake the thought of having the drink holders ourselves (vs just having them in my wife’s beach cruiser basket) so we went back and had those installed as well.. multiple purchases in the same day. Same great service both times.

My husband & I purchased two Townie ebikes a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved the staff and service at the Osprey Ave shop...was a very busy day in the shop but Matt couldnt have been nicer and more accommodating. Added all the extras and delivered both bikes to us within just a few hours.

Best Bike Shop Ever!

Seems like a great place to purchase a bike. Customer service is terrible but that’s what happens when you have your teenage family members baby sitting while you were gone. Lose a sale for twenty dollars it wasn’t the principle of the twenty dollars because we actually chose to drive half an hour for the same bike and paid 50$ more just for the customer service. Your lose especially with a customer who would have been buying 6-8 bikes since relocating We have been looking for a bike shop. Also will not be recommending . Believe me it was totally worth the drive to port Charlotte they also offer free tunes ups with the purchase of their bikes.:-)

Bought an electra beach cruiser at this store and need a bunch more as we just moved to sarasota. i will NOT buy from this store again! terrible service. i bought the bike over the phone and when i picked it up they just gave it to me without any service? i had to ask the kid working there to adjust the seat for my height. When i brought it home and rode it, the handle bars werent set to my size so i had to adjust that. They didnt even put enough AIR in the tires.....isnt that just basic service??? btw, dont ask if they have any accessories because i did....you think they would try to sell some extras but not this store. not sure how this store is still in business. ill drive the extra miles to go to a store that actually cares about their customers!!!

I like the small store with more to offer than it has floor space! VB has been my “Go To” bike store for a decade and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. I’ve purchased several bikes from them and I have always taken all my bikes to them for service. Riding is important to me and I so appreciate their staff recognizing that about me. The service is better than anywhere else I’ve ever been, it’s nice to talk to their techs because they understand riding is not about how far you go or where you go so much, it is the journey that you remember!

I came in looking for a sport/fitness bike, and Tony brought out 2 bikes to compare, then suggested a slightly different approach... a road bike that was very comfortable to ride. I then tested several of those, and settled on a marvelous Specialized. The Village team was patient, and provided expert advice along my purchase journey. Highly recommend.

I was looking to get a seat for my road bike. I had a terrible customer service experience. The experience was so bad that I am writing this review 5 years after it happened because it still stings.

Brought my daughters bike in for a tuneup and repair. Service was excellent, thanks Zack, even after I had to bring it back because there was still a problem with the front tire. Wasn’t dissapointed at pickup. Fair prices. Going back for a bike rack. Really like the one Zack showed me.

Tony spent a lot of quality time with me adjusting my bike until the fit was just right. He is a perfectionist about getting every piece of the puzzle to fit. What a difference -- now I can ride pain free! I am so grateful for the exceptional service. Village Bikes is the best. And the coffee bar is great, too.

I visited Village Bikes recently to purchase a bike rack for my car. The selection of racks was great and the prices very fair. I made my selection with the help of a very courteous and knowledgeable salesperson named Matt, who even installed my bike rack for me! Such great service. Definitely recommend this place!

Needed information on bikes for my wife and I and got fantastic service. The team is both knowledgeable and helpful and made sure we were taken care instead of being rushed out like you see many times in big box stores.This place gives the attention to the customer and the attention to detail and if you need anything at all, they are quick to help and give honest and thoughtful advice.

Went in for an inner tube replacement and left with what felt like a custom fitted bike. Tony was attentive, knowledgeable and gave me much more than what I felt I paid for. Ill never take my bikes anywhere else. The entire crew were wonderful and made what they had no idea had been a rough day into a genuinely day altering experience. Many thanks!!

Super helpful and kind! I picked out a nice step through cruiser that fit me well, then switched for a matte black one but forgot to test it out and realized after they delivered it that it was just too big for me to ride. They came and picked it back up the next day in order to replace it with my first choice, and switched out all the accessories i had chosen as well. I was planning on going to pick it up myself today but Im feeling very sick and was in bed until noon when i got a call asking if i was available to have it dropped off AGAIN! I wouldnt dream of asking for more patient and understanding service. Thank u very much village bikes!!! Im ecstatic with my new bike and everything i got with it, right down to the ridiculously goofy bugle horn. Its adorable and Im taking it for a spin right now.

Village bikes is a convenient ride (or walk if youre like me and acquired a flat) from downtown Sarasota. Everyone was very helpful and made great suggestions when I asked about local bike safety as a new transplant. They even helped trap my new pump to the back of my bike! Couldnt be happier and will definitely head over again for tune ups etc.

I was in the market for a bike for my son. I had heard about Village Bikes through some positive feedback from friends and decided to give them a try.A few phobes calls were exchanged, I was provided with pictures and a price. We decided on a color, made payment and I picked up the bike. My son loves it.The level of service and attitude was second to none. My schedule didnt allow for lengthy visits and they made the process seamless and fun. When I did make a couple trips to the store I was blown away by the selection they have. From bikes to gear to gourmet coffee, I was very impressed.A place were the staff knows your name and meets your needs is rare in this day and time. I bought my bike three weeks ago from Village Bikes. I love my mountain bike! I found the owner Ed and his staff friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend this bike shop.

Ive spent quite a bit of time at Village Bikes, in both their Sarasota shop and their Lakewood Ranch shop. Both are well stocked with everything anyone could ever need. The Sarasota store stocks, in my opinion, the most robust selection of gear anywhere in Florida.The people of Village Bikes are incredible. Ive had in depth cycling conversations with at least five different salesmen, including the owner, and each of them was incredibly patient and knowledgable. It took me about a year to finally decide on a bike and accompanying gear, and they were there to walk me through my options every step of the way. Both locations have excellent vibes and are run by people passionate about the sport. These guys are excited about cycling. Aside from the great salesroom, shop, and coffee shop (Sarasota location), theyve organized multiple community rides, which they encourage everyone to participate in throughout the week. One great perk to purchasing a bike from Village Bikes is their custom fitting. My fitting lasted about four hours, from riding to trying on different gear, to tweaking my bikes geometry to just the right dimensions. This aspect alone sets them far apart from other bike shops.

GREAT EXPERIENCE!!Recently I took my bike in with a flat tire. Although the shop was quite busy the staff could not have been more gracious and attentive. This is a really good bike shop. I rented a SuperSix while visiting Florida on vacation. The staff made the process very easy and seamless, and were a pleasure to work with. And, when I left a device on the bike, Ed mailed it to me for free! They know what good service means and they live it; Ill definitely be back.

Great shop, great people! The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you find the perfect bike to fit your needs. At first I was in price shock, however, these bikes are built to last, unlike the crap they sell at Walmart. And they offer free tune ups! Well worth the investment :)

Visiting from the Savannah area & I had a problem with my bike...grinding, pedal moving around, you know, stuff that always happens when you are away from your local shop. Took a quick ride over during my cool down and walked right in, they put it right on the stand, tightened up my pedal, checked my chain, shifters, cranks & BB and I was out the door. Thanks so much guys for all your help! Next time Im in town Ill head that way with coffee/drinks.

I have always had a wonderful experience in dealing with Village Bikes. From their helpful input as well as prompt service, they are one of the last retail shops that makes me thankful to have somewhere local to spend my money. If you are in the market looking for a bike you would be well served to make them your first stop.

Broke a spoke while down here on vacation. Dropped off my rim at 10:30 and was told it would be ready later that afternoon. At 11:25 they called and said it was ready! Perfect repair for a reasonable cost. Nice guys too even gave me suggestions on a couple local group rides to try while Im here.

Village bikes is hands down the best shop in Sarasota. They provide excellent service and have always helped me with whatever problems Ive had . I have purchased two bikes from them in the last two years and would not go anywhere else. The level of service they provide is incredible.

Replaced some parts on bike to fix, however that did not fix bike so kept bike a little longer to investigate. They finally found the problem, cracked bike frame. This requires a new frame, so they gave bike back with no charge since they couldnt fix. Very First class, no fix, no charge. Im now contacting Specialized under their lifetime warranty on frame.

I have bought two Bikes from Village bikes: One for my wife and one for my son. Both times, and, both Village Bikes locations were super friendly, knowledgeable and had great inventory. We are about to purchase an upgrade for my son and are not considering going anywhere else. I am on a budget and I have always been treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.

Been coming to this shop for years. Knowledgeable, mature & friendly staff, had the tire emergency kit i needed & got me back on the road quickly. Good, broad selection of basic cruisers to road race bikes.

I buy a lot online. And certainly bike accessories and clothing are readily available online. But in the past month, I have been to Village Bikes twice and been helped by Jody, whos friendly, knowledgeable and realizes Im not a serious biker. She gave me good advice and recommendations and, when presented with a technical question about my wailing brakes and how to fix them, she connected me with a more technical staffer.She explained the options on bike shorts and pointed out the pluses and minuses of each for someone like me without making me feel like the amateur I am. In 30 minutes of research online, I might have found many of the same answers, but I no doubt would have had remaining questions. And I would have missed Jodys friendly smile.If you need help and have a preference for friendly humans, I recommend shopping at Village Bikes on Osprey.

Sorry I wasn’t impressed, had an annual checkup next day got ready for a ride and front tire flat and wouldn’t take air-too far alway to go back. Also tried to sell me a chain for my wife’s Towne with fewer than 100 miles, said it was worn out-give me a break.

I had a problem with my Shimano Nexus 3-speed hub. I called around to find a place to bring to repair. The other bike companies I talked to just told me to bring it in when I described the problem.John, Service Manager, gave me a suggestion to try re: an adjustment and that fixed the problem! He saved me the trip to bring it and who knows how much the other bike companies would have charged me to fix!These folks are honest and helpful. I live in Bradenton but will definitely be dealing with them for all my future business. I highly recommend them!

Went there today looking for a road bike and thinking that was the only bike that fits my needs. A helpful male associate asked me what I needed my bike for and pointed me more in the commuter direction since id be using it for school. It was the only bike shop ive been to out of orlando, north port, and port charlotte and most of sarasota where anyone has asked me anything about what I want to use my bike for while also giving me important bike knowledge. Starting out with bikes is really hard, even more so when youre 20 and look 14 no one takes you seriously... and its nice when someone can inform you about things, it makes the learning process much easier. I didnt buy anything and left with way more knowledge than I had before so I felt I should at least leave a nice review for this place. Really helpful people!
