Carol and Larry are the best! They took the time to answer all of my questions about storage units (and I had a lot), took pictures of the units I was interested in, and Larry was able to show them to me in person. In my current storage unit, there was a pipe I was concerned about, and Larry took the time to call someone to figure out what it was. They are both so kind, very professional, and really care about their customers. I didnt even look at any other storage unit facilities because of how great the reviews were, and Ive found that they are true! The facility is also really clean, and I love that the storage units are inside of a building as well as temperature controlled. You can park your car inside of the building as well to move your stuff to your unit, which is really convenient. Lastly, although the rent price can differ on the unit from month-to-month, I was told you can pre-pay to lock in your rate, which I will be doing. Ive been here for one month and would highly recommend it. Thank you Carol and Larry!

I went to rent what I understood was a storage space (outside access), and was told that it was a parking space. Nothing on their website suggested this. You can see a picture of their building that they do have o/s access units. I just wasted my time and gas.

The manager Theodore was extremely helpful and informative. He talked us through all of our available options and was patient while we decided what worked best for our situation. We had no issues on our same day move-in.The facility is top notch and is very clean. There are always carts available and ready to grab up front by the entrance. There are cameras everywhere, which makes us feel safe and assured that our belongings are secure. Great experience so far!

This is is the worst experience with this company. When I had a contract with them, it was Extra Storage and I was told that it would it be prorated for the last month. They changed the name and did not provide me any change even their changed phone number. I contacted the extra storage customer service and was told that it was no longer extra storage. On the day of moving out of the storage, I was forced to pay the full month(the manager told me it would go to collection agency if l did not pay). Stay away from this company. They do not provide you a written agreement in the beginning and change their words. Be aware!!!!!

I couldnt recommend Extra Space Storage in Schaumburg highly enough! Carol is so knowledgeable, helpful, and fun to work with. The facility is well-maintained, clean, and easily accessible. I would definitely use them again if I need storage space in the future. Wonderful job, Extra Space Team!!!

I rented my unit online because of its high rating and was not disappointed. Besides a small snafu with the sizing of the unit, which was taken care of promptly by Theodore (acting manager) and followed up the next day by Carol (facility manager). I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the facility (no funky storage building odors lingering in the corridors), well lit hallways, huge drive-in storage bays to unload a truck out of the weather and after-hours accessibility (I also felt safer at night) and multiple flat carts for my use. Ive used other facilities in the past, but extra space surpassed my demanding expectations. Best part - a bit less than other facilities with a lot more perks!

This place is awesome!!! Carol OShaughnessy is the best lady ever to deal with. She is awesome. Very welcoming, and very down to earth. She keeps this place clean. Deffinately reccomend her to talk to about a storage space. When moving in it is absolutely customer service and top notch. Would recommend this to all my friends and family.

Pros: Online leasing process is efficient; facility is clean; Hand carts are readily available; the management team is very responsive to questions; the indoor bay can easily fit a 12ft- 14ft box truck.Cons: My initial rate on a 10x15 first floor unit was $158 per month. The monthly rate has now increased by 46% to $230 after the first four months.Before I rented the unit I was told that a rate adjustment was unlikely to occur during the first six months of the lease and when a rate adjustment does occur it would be reflective of “market conditions”. Given that the rate adjustment occurred earlier than expected I talked to Carrol (district team lead) today in order to clarify my understanding of the rate adjustment process.Carrol did confirm that rate adjustments are based on market conditions, but these adjustments are only applied when the rate increases. If at some point in the future extra space storage is offering the same 10X15 first floor unit for $158 a month I will still pay $230.Given that extra space does not offer an option to lock-in your rate for a period of time with an up-front prepayment (which I asked about before I signed my lease) I think it is reasonable to expect that my rental rate would be subject to both upward or downward rate adjustments based on market conditions. Instead the reality is my rental rate is subject to only continuous upward rate adjustments for the entire duration of my lease.To be transparent, as of the date of this review, my 46% rate increase appears to be in line with the market as the same 10X15 unit at this facility is listed for $244 a month. I will be sure to update this review accordingly upon subsequent rate adjustments.

Just rented a space at Extra Space Storage and just wanted to say that everything went very well. I was greeted by Zach, who was friendly and helpful. He showed me the unit and explained the process of moving in. Then when I actually signed on to rent a unit, Ed was a great help walking me through the process over the phone. Didn’t take long and Ed made it easy to understand.Both men were very professional and courteous. I thank them very much.

The customer service is excellent! Zach helped me out with finding the perfect temperature controlled unit. He showed me the unit before signing the paper work, which was extremely helpful. He did a thorough job of explaining the contract step-by-step. The facility itself was clean and easy to access. I will definitely use Extra Space Storage again in the future!

They increased 30 dollars more on my payment for storage. Theyre really rip off. I recommend you to not use this storage place even contract agreement that they would increate more than $30 dollars. Screw this place.

Karol O was very matter of fact about storage rates increasing potentially every 60 days and ours was increased by over 48 percent. The property is clean and well maintained. Customer service said rate increases twice a year. Carol said possibly every 60 days. They are taking advantage of customers with the unreasonable increase rates.

Jennifer was very nice and helpful in taking care of a situation. Her professionalism was great. Very nice facility as well. One thing though, I do believe that the onsite people meet to be better informed about there job and trained in certain situations.Scott

Extremely clean facility, nice smooth floors, (I know its not NEEDED, but it sure was a pleasant surprise!), and I was able to do the entire process online in less than 20 minutes; a bonus when you have a 1 yr old. I was emailed a copy of the lease agreement to sign, then a confirmation email. When I arrived, Theodore opened the door for me, showed me where to pull the vehicle in- 2 big open spaces, with 5 loading carts available- awesome when you have helpers- and doors that automatically close. He was friendly, polite, made small talk with me, (I also appreciated adult conversation), and walked me all the way to my unit. He gave me the welcome brochure and my new lock. When my helpers and I left, he said goodbye and wished us well. I DEFINITELY recommend this place!!

In my opinion this place is very clean and secure. Lots of room and space inside to bring your belongings and move around in. Its a nice experience seeing as its my first time renting out a unit. Lady who assisted me in person was kind and helpful. I appreciate her. Overall, coming in and out of the place as needed for personal use without being disturbed is nice. I can access my unit as I please.

Wonderful Experience! This is the 3rd storage facility Im trying and this is by far the best one Ive worked with so far. Taylor, Carol and Roman are absolutely lovely to work with and go out of their way to answer any questions and make sure you have a full understanding of everything. They also go out of their way to explain costs and any changes to costs you might see in the future.I was able to do a full contactless move in and rental (well organized and great customer service - they did their best to make this as painless as possible) and they even ensured that the space was cleaned and sanitized as an extra safety measure.Wonderful place and customer service!

Carol and her assistants are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on storage needs. Additionally as a renter I really appreciate the cleanliness, security and the fact that the loading and unloading area is indoors with lots of carts. At times they are all in use but generally easily found in their place. I feel safe here as a female too.

Left Public storage because this winter they literally plowed all the snow up against my unit door. Told me I was responsible for removing the 4ft of snow. Went to Extra Space met Carol and now Im an Extra Space customer for life.

Very nice clean outside storage for our camper. Spaces are wider than at other yards and there’s lots of room to maneuver and to get in and out. Carol couldn’t have been more helpful in setting everything up for us.

Have to say I tried to go to public storage a little close to closing and they refused to take my money for a unit luckily I found extraspace storage and Carol was wonderful and even let us in last minute to rent a unit. Very professional and super friendly unlike their rivals. The units are very clean and they have great security all throughout the building and 24 hour access to units on the outside.

The facility is super clean and you can pull into an indoor bay/garage area and load/unload. The ladies up front are very friendly and helpful. Best of all, the pricing is very good for the spacious, climate-controlled units. Dont waste your $ with that orange dump, you dont need to!!

Im so mad at myself for being a square! I have always used PS for storing things over the years and never even considered anyone else. Well, a person left a review about this place Extra Space Storage on the PS reviews and I checked them out and sold immediately! Roman is one of the nicest and caring people on the planet, it helped especially in times like these! I felt like I knew him for years already. He made me feel so comfortable and that my belongings would be safe and clean at his facility. The place was by far clean, cool (temperature), and huge savings v the other place. Well, needless to say I spent approximately $70 more at the other place and didnt even bother to ask for a refund. I will always use Extra Space Storage, and happy for the person that put the good review up on the other storage companys blog. Thank you again Roman in Schaumburg!!!

Wow! Super clean and bright with auto-on LED ceiling lights when you walk to your unit. The drive-in bays to get out of the weather are a great feature I’ve never seen anywhere else. Bridget was awesome when I stopped by to check it out and get a unit. She offered a tour of the property and helped me select a convenient location on the second floor accessed by two large freight elevators for easy in-out with the provided hand carts.
