Terrible service. Would spend a bunch of money here but not with the service I have experienced on multiple occasions. Would be a great business with people that actually care. I prefer to support the local economy, but would rather buy online and wait then spend money here..

Not friendly service here! We were in the store for 20 minutes and no one said a word to us. Never asked if they could help us find anything. We didnt find all that we were looking for, but purchased one item and my husband asked about why their selection is so limited and mentioned what he was looking for, but the guy was extremely rude about it. We wont be back. Better selection and friendly service elsewhere!

Nice space and selection. The first time I went in I was sent by my hubby and had a very nice young man help me (wish I knew his name) and get me what I was needing. This evening the hubby and I went in as he had broke a couple parts off his Stampede. We live outside of Sioux Falls and needed to take a trip into town and thought wed stop in. It was about 10-15 mins before closing. Well, this visit was not as pleasant as the last. There was only 1 person working by the name of Ryan. I am here to tell you that I am so glad that he DID NOT help me when I myself went in. He made us feel like we were wasting his time. He was rather rude and we pretty much got the vibe that he was ready to close and wanted us out, but we came to get what we needed and that is what we were going to do. 6 was closing, NOT 5:50pm. Why the hell be in this business if you cant show your customers appreciation, be patient and just fake it. I stood there the whole time thinking to myself how glad I was that this guy did not help me the last time I was here by myself. I was also proud of my hubby for keeping his cool.

I will never spend $1 in this store. Extremely rude worker. My kids and I went in looking to see if Hobby Town would have a piece my son needed to fix his car. The worker was rude from the second we walked in. He was rude, unfriendly and acted like we were a bother even walking in. Before I said what part I needed he said he couldnt help me. Then he said when I decide to come back and purchase a remote control car from Hobby Town then he can help me. I can guarantee I will never buy a rc car or anything from there. My neighbor was in the store a week earlier and said worker was very rude also.

Dont waste your time here. NO help whatsoever. After hearing the way he talked to a customer on the phone its no wonder the store was empty and the rest of the reviews are as bad as they are.

So a lil over 2 weeks ago now I purchase a charge for my traxxas revo. I brought it inside told him Im new to this world have no idea what kind of charger I need so he grabbed me one. So I Went home to charger my battery with it and it all most blow my battery up. So I go in there today and tell him what happen and he trys to make it seem like it was my fault. (Let me remind you I brought my rc inside.) Back to what happen he said hes not gonna take the charger back. All I wanted to do was exchange it for the one I need if i need to pay extra i would have paid extra. But wont buy anything form there again just gonna shop online. Atlest if you order online you can return it with in 30 days.

VERY VERY helpful staff, however not fully equipped to handle the needs of what Id consider to be a serious hobbyist. I was looking for solder and they had one single package of coiled (tube packaged) solder, that was unmarked of the actual lead/tin content. And also didnt have other RC truck parts I needed. I was however fortunate enough to find 1s lipos for a micro-drone they stock. For myself it wasnt up to par, but for many many others I can see it being an oasis of hobby related items, specially for being here In South Dakota.

If you are into RC this is a great place to go! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff! Very well stocked!

We had a great time at Hobby Town. The employees spent a good amount of time working with us so that we could get exactly what we were looking for. I was impressed by the knowledge of the staff and the variety of options of RC cars they had to choose from.

Bought a shark-fishing game for a 5 year old. (The box said for children over 4 yrs) The hinge broke less than 1 minute into the game. The small screw holding up the top jaw of the shark stripped its threads and the lid detached. Poor design. Took it back to the store and the young man at the counter gave me a blank stare when I showed him the problem. I suggested he let the distributor know about the inferior product. Another blank stare. I turned to leave and he said I could take it with me. I said that is ok and left, never to return. Too bad, I probably averaged $25 in sales sales each month. Not a big deal, but how many customers can the business afford to lose? For service like that, I’ll shop Amazon. Another local retailer destined to bite the dust...

1 star is to much. Ever time we have gone in this store they are rude and not helpful always seems like we are innconvenienting them with our presents. The last time we went in with a question on our RC the person behind the counter never even looked up at us.. Will always purchase from a competitor.

Very high in electronics! If I had more time, I would have liked to have been able to dig deeper in checking out the new trains and such. But then they have so much more than that, they have rockets, airplanes (remote control) and you name it, they probably have it. A very interesting spot to stop and browse.

Was Googling for Radio Shack and got this place. Showed up as a Radio Shack Express. The only place in Sioux Falls, SD that had a 2.2kΩ resistor that I needed and other stuff. They had a good selection of tiny whoops too. Will definitely be back on my days off.

The staff is pretty helpful. Very well stocked if youre into trains, models, wargame, boardgames or RC vehicles. Definitely stop in and look for yourself.

The store had great inventory, very competitive prices, clean appearance and was well organized by genre. I must say the staff was very polite and courteous to all my questions. Another great example of a small town business driven towards excellence!!

Amazing service after the sale. Bought a RC Car and had no idea how to do anything ..... they were kind and helped me through everything. I came back in with a couple issues after I crashed it the next day...they got me out the same day..worked their magic. Would recommend this amazing local business to anyone. Thanks guys.

HobbyTown had friendly and approachable staff. I came in needing a battery for an R/C truck that they didnt carry. They were happy to help find one that would be compatible and gave good advice on how to install it. Ill definitely be back next time I need help with my truck.

They never have anything listed on their website in the actual store. Even the things marked In Stock. Since youll have to order your stuff...might as well go to Amazon and save a few $$

Ryan and Jacob always greet me when I come in. Great overall selection of modeling needs. They support the local clubs and hobbyists in their work to build wonderful things.

This isn’t the place it used to be, limited selection to Traxxas. Might as well call it Traxxas Town of middle earth. No 1/8 scale accessories or tires. NO team losi, team associated, Tamiya, Mugen, kyosho, and other ‘major’ brands. Have mostly Traxxas stadium trucks, and monster trucks. Most of what they carry now are basher RC products like helion and wouldn’t last one race without breaking or even keep up.They need to go back to what it used to be with swing out panels and carry more parts. But I don’t see that happening, it’s a shame.3/26/21 Edit* needs to have more regular hours that fit the franchise typical policy during normal business hours and be open until 8pm some or all weekdays.Have not scene any improvements in store layout so no more stars yet, this rating can be improved.

The place to go for big boy toys

I have mixed feelings on this one they knew alot but one of the guys wasnt very inviting when it came to me being a novice at this stuff. When asking questions about my traxxas i felt as if i was more annoying to the guy then anything and took my car to a competitor and they fixed me right up. The do have a great selection. But the staff member couldve been more informative and have a better attitude twords entry level people.

Great staff but I dont like how they keep saying helion is a great car. Its not and they are trying to say it is. I walked in one time and a woman was trying to buy a car they race out at aspen park raceway and they said helion. But no one runs helion there because it cant keep up and compete with the real cars. Its not with them its with how they say helion is a good brand. DONT BUY HELION
