The favorite breakfast destination for my partner and I, a big part is is beautiful outdoor courtyard (indoor seating is inside old bank for an interesting atmosphere. Bagels from Bagelsaurus are made into very satisfying breakfast sandwiches. The coffee and lattes are also nice.

The ordering is easy with the tablets in the shop. The cafe is well set up and has a good flow of traffic. The outdoor space is huge and helps to spread out. In the heart of Somerville in busy union square, this is a good place to relax in. If not for the traffic around, I would visit more often. Definitely worth going to this place again.

A very pleasant coffee store in an old bank which allows for a level of spaciousness, and cosy with the vaults also spaces to enjoy your coffee. Andrea who served us was cheerful and fun and the coffee really was good on this watery winter day. The cinnamon bagel was very tasty. With a full range a cakes and sandwiches - it looked good. Art on distant is also for sale and they have a book shelving for the ‘More than Words’ org who help people get into work - which is superb.Overall a lovely Coffee shop with a post office across the road and a comic shop next door and art and books the place to read or write.

The iced latte was very tasty. However, I docked one star for their inability to make change (strange considering theres metered parking all up and down the street in front of the cafe), and I docked another star for the fact that they dont have wifi available for customers (they have such a lovely patio, and wifi would make that a great place to get some work or studying done). All in all, a comfy place to sip coffee and read, but for the price of the coffee youd expect them to make it more convenient for their patrons.

I expected more. The coffee was good but a few things were a little off. I didnt see a way to pay with cash (which is illegal and has equity issues). I also like to order my coffee from real people. The courtyard has a bike lock on the gate, which is at a minimum inconvenient. What is the service fee for? Finally, overpriced.

This is a nice place for coffee and a light snack. The environment inside is nothing much which could be due to the restrictions during the pandemic. But they had outside seating which was quite nice. The cafe was following the social distancing rules, the server would call the customers name and leave the drinks out on a serving table where the customer could pick them up. The cappuccinos we had were good and the seating outside was great.

Edit 07/31/2021: they reopened their indoor seatings, and along that the bathroom. I changed my review accordingly.Old review:There is no bathroom. I repeat, no bathroom. They sell food and coffee, have nice outdoor seatings, but no bathrooms. Do those people understand what coffee and food do to people? Do they understand that they serve human beings, and not machines? There is no indications of the lack of bathroom access, and you dont know it until youve sat down and ordered or until you need it.I dont care if it is the apocalypse outside, you need to provide bathroom to people. Or you need to close your outdoor seatings. One of the two.I will gladly update my review once they update their policy.

My husband and I came here spontaneously after him being not satisfied with the donut shop across the street. We came for coffee by the sandwiches looked amazing on the photos. My husband was so excited that he wasn’t diss appointed. Her ordered the safe haven sand which was a veggie sandwich with avocado, feta cheese, tomatoes, sprouts among other things and the bread was soft as if homemade. We also ordered coffee which was very good and my husband is a coffee snob and he said it was good coffee. He got an americano and I got a oat milk cappuccino. Both drinks were great. Good ambiance, lots of space to sit and chill. We came early on a Saturday morning and hope to come back again during our short weekend trip since we liked it so much. Ten stars!

This place was ahead of the curve in updating its flow for COVID and focusing on carryout. You can order on Toast 10 - 15 minutes in advance or just walk up to an order screen when you enter. The outdoor seating option is especially good for warm weekend days. Bonus mission: grab your turmeric chais to-go and haul them 10m up to the top of Prospect Hill to pair with the view.

Bloc is one of three connected coffee shops in Somerville (the other two are Forge and Diesel) but this is definitely the nicest location because of the outdoor patio. The quality of the food and coffee is consistently good across the 3 cafes and prices are about what you’d expect from a local coffee chain ($5 latte) However, my experience with the service at this location wasn’t great. WiFi also costs after 3 hours so it isn’t ideal as a regular place to work or study

Fantastic coffee shop that is, I think, the 3rd business created by the team behind Diesel in Davis and Forge bakery. Forge`s baked good are sold here and are worth every penny, with their cinnamon bun being something particularly special. Bloc: I love you, youre beautiful, Im going to keep coming... but we need to talk...Every. Single. One. Of your tables. Is the wobbliest drunkest mess of a table Ive ever seen. This has been going on for like years now. Get these tables into a 10 step program. Or maybe just like, a 4 shim program.Maybe its a ploy to sell more coffee, or a more insidious plot to warm Bostons winters by worsening climate change via the use of thousands of extra paper napkins. But Ive gotten maybe 1000 coffees from you over the years. Ive had maybe half of them spilled due to bumps, shakes, and general use of the tables. My computer perpetually smells like coffee (which maybe I should be thanking you for). But really bloc, lets fix these tables!

Bloc cafe is an ideal location to meet up with friends, read, or work while enjoying delicious food and coffee. The baristas are friendly and there are plenty of tables inside, even in the back room (with a fireplace!) or the old bank vault. There are plenty of vegan options, including my favorites of seasonal sandwiches and the amazing Union salad (although this normally comes with cheese on top). This place was a great addition to Union square. It has excellent coffee, a wonderful vibe with their decor and outdoor space, and great sandwiches and pastries. So I visited for the first time on 10/02/19 and ordered a coffee since I had a travel mug that was 20oz I asked the barista can give me 20oz coffee said ok but I have to charge you for a small and large coffee. At the time I didnt notice how much it was until I swiped my card. The large coffee is $3.27 for 16oz and small $2.79 for 12 oz. Then she says I can give you a credit for the travel mug which was a whopping 10 cents. I then ask her to add caramel which was another $1. The coffee most definitely was not as good Starbucks and yet way more expensive. Im still wondering why I was charged for 28oz of coffee in a 20oz cup technically she owed me 8oz of coffee. Its as if I was punished for using a reusable cup that wasnt exactly 16oz or 12oz. The grand total was $8.47 with tax and Im sorry to say not worth it at all. All I ordered was a black coffee with caramel. I was left disappointed and wishing I had just walked to Starbucks because it would have tasted better and would have been cheaper.

Their Ham & Cheese Croissants are the best, especially when they are heated. Bloc 11 has a easy, relaxed atmosphere. I dont feel bombarded with noise or loud music, which makes it easier to hear the person or people to whom one is talking. Also, there is room to move around and you dont feel like you are sitting on top of someone. There is extra room in the back as well as the Vault for additional seating. Its expensive for what it is (I think I paid $18 for a lower tier sandwich, pop and cookie), they forgot part of my order (fixed it, though, without hassle once I asked), and it took quite a long time to get the order (I think maybe they were understaffed that day?). As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked if I needed any help, I let the gentleman in front of the cash register know it was my first time and I wasnt sure what to get. He was polite enough to tell me the most popular items and what they have to offer. I decided on the turkey Alvarado sandwich which was spectacular. The food was very fresh and I only waited a few minutes to receive it.
