This location was amazing. I went to the store on 11/3/21. All the employees greeted you as you entered the door and sparked friendly conversation as you were being helped. Definitely going back!

Went in there on 10/17/21, let’s just say whoever was ruining the front counter was extremely unprofessional. Woman maybe early 20s was wearing sweats and crop top. Mask half on, with her earbuds hanging out of her mask. Not only the crop top wasn’t professional it wasn’t a pleasant view. She also was swearing at her coworker loud enough where me and my party could hear it. Calling her co worker a “dumbass” because he didn’t make an order she took! She took my order and only got it half done. I really felt bad for the kid he was NEW he or any other of the staff at any work place should be talked down upon like that.

I visited the Assembly Square location. I want to start by saying how disgusted and disappointed I felt by my experience.The young man behind the counter that took my order was spilling food all over, and also eating while he was making my brownie sundae. He kept going in the back while the brownie was in the microwave, and kept coming back with his mouth full.I tried to get his attention to order another item for my daughter, but he had already moved on to another costumer and ignored me.Then, I was waiting in line to pay and the line wasnt moving. No one seemed to be running the cash register.I am definitely not going to that location ever again. I will also think twice about going to any JP Licks.

J.P. Licks is a delicious ice cream store with a following for a reason. They have a variety of ice cream flavors and toppings including fruits, nuts, and candy. They also offer cafe beverages and cakes. The prices arent bad either! J.P. has a few dairy free options but could definitely benefit from expanding their options. Hope yall enjoy!

Got a peanut butter chocolate milkshake with banana and tasted kind of bland somehow. I dont know how they could mess up something so good but they managed to disappoint me anyways. Definitely not worth my money

Thought I would give this place a try again and once again disappointing...really looking forward to the peach ice cream that i didnt recieve because menu was not updated and the sunday I did get was very melted and not even enough ice cream in the cup to come up to the top...I would think for a 13 dollar sunday I would have got more then one melted scoop of ice cream. I ordered ice cream not caramel sauce. Guess I will just stick to what I know is good...scoop n scootery!

Very nice and clean, employees are polite and welcoming the prices are great. I enjoyed a cone with strawberry ice-cream it was smooth and creamy, other night i ordered the latte and is hard to describe does how amazing it was. The pastry are good so are the cakes and cookies, dont forget to grab some too... Dont forget to take a picture with the giraffe!!!!

Awesome Ice Cream!!! This is a great place to stop in after taking in a movie at the AMC or in-between shopping at the outlets. The prices are somewhat Bostonian but the convenience is hard to beat. Good location. Some seating inside. Lots outside. Menu is fairly large if a bit expensive. Had some breakfast foods and all of it tasted good.

There were only 2 kids running the show. I ordered a large raspberry lime rickey and was not told they were out of limes and the drink tasted so awful it was almost offensive. I waited forever in line with only 1 person in front of me and was so mad i spent 6$ on a drink that was literally u drinkable. I definitely wont return. 😭😭

Just alright. Really downhill when compared to a a previous era. Flavours are meh standard. Prices are high. Service was questionable. And We couldn’t hear a thing the person said behind the counter on a factor that they were too short and it was too loud.Would try again, just not this one.

I had coffee here and it was on a quite morning hence no issues with it being crowded. The ambience is nice, volume of music a bit too loud for me, but their coffee was great! I don’t know from where they get their beans or if they brew their coffee by themselves but I will definitely go there again.I also like the thoughtful design of their coffee cup which comes with a flap over the lid and it is very convenient to close and open it. This is something which some coffee stores offer.

First time ever getting ice cream from J.P Licks while visiting Boston. Wow! Extra creamy ice cream in a variety of flavors. My fave Kamalas Karamel! Isnt that cute? and they have ice cream cakes and Bostons best hot chocolate! Definitely will be going back!

I heard that the ice cream is delicious, and have no doubt about it. But I called to find out what time it closed. Because I left work late.. they told me it close at 10 pm I went 9:55 and my husband went ahead to open the door, and I came back to her my mask.. getting close they closed the door and they did it want to open the door. And I came forme so far. But only that!

Went to J.P. Licks for a morning coffee and the barista was friendly and made two fantastic lattes

Very creamy, well balanced ice cream. They had a large selection of both soft and hard ice cream (the latter had seasonal flavors as well), plus frozen yogurt (not to mention baked goods and coffee). I tried the brownie brownie batter (bbb) and the banana walnut chip (seasonal): bbb had a thick, velvety chocolate brownie ice cream with a lot of brownie pieces (almost too many)--it could have used a bit more churning to make it smoother. The banana flavor was a bit too subtle, but ended up blending well with the bbb. Overall, the ice cream was very good: flavourful, but not over bearing, with a generous, but not cheap, amount of mixed-in toppings; a quick fix to make it more enjoyable would be to maintain a higher storage temperature so it can be eaten better.

They messed up the order. We placed online order and paid extra for a lot of extra toppings, fudge, hit caramel. When it got delivered found out that they didnt gave us what we paid! Chocolate ice cream doesnt even taste like chocolate, its pretty bad. Dont waste your time and money here

Ok, its 30 degrees but everyone says you have to try JP Licks. So here we are from NYC. Wow, maple butter walnut- awesome.

Though they were cleaning for the night, after going to the theater I thought it would be a good idea to get ice cream. Before the cashier could calculate the total, the manager suggested it should be $13 for three scoops with one sauce and one sprinkle topping. When I asked the cashier how much for toppings he explained they can go from $1 to $1.30 between sauce or sprinkle toppings. Didnt understand how the manager equaled $13 while sweeping floors, but hopefully the tip should cover it. I guess thats their way of telling customers any scoops ordered within an hour til close is double the price.

I have a medical condition that does not allow me to wear a mask. I went into the store and walk told i have to put one on. I politely tried to explain that the mandate for masks has a clause about medical conditions. The person working cut me off and kick me out. I even tried to ask if I can call and order and wait outside again i was told no. The person was very very RUDE!!

I really enjoyed this place. I had heard it was good from other people but never been near one before. I also tried their hot chocolate as their sign says theyre the best. The hot chocolate was really good bit three one I got had some of their Diablo hot chocolate mixed in. As a large size I couldnt drink the whole thing but would have been really good as a small. Im sure their normal hot chocolate wouldve been awesome. I love hot chocolate when made with steamed milk!

Good place serving deserts like a wide range of flavours in ice creams, shakes, cakes and cookies. There is spceous outdoor seating available to enjoy late evenings outside under the stars. I ordered a small cup of brownie brownie cream flavoured ice cream which was very cream and delicious. The service on the counters was efficient and customer friendly with a smile. There is ample paid parking space available around. Overall a nice place which a tourist should visit when in Boston, MA, USA.

Came in on a Friday night to get some hot chocolate. One cashier pulling double duty taking and preparing orders. Very poorly staffed.Beyond the hygenic problems with having someone cashier AND prepare food, its busy and theres seemingly no one available to help this poor kid out? Not exactly a good first impression for a shop in a shopping area.

Friendly staff, quick service

Servers are friendly enough, but they are constantly out of stock of their special flavors and soft serve. We called and asked ahead of arrival if they had soft serve available and were told yes, only to arrive and find out they had none fifteen minutes later! A few weekends ago, they only had two servers during the evening rush on the first warm Saturday of the year. We waited almost 25 minutes that day to be told no soft serve, and that half their flavors were gone. I usually love JP but this location is not worth visiting.

I love love love JP Licks they always have so many new and excited ice cream choices. They many flavors and toppings to choice from. Its a child and dog friendly place and ice cream for dogs as well. Its really nice in the summer since they have nice outside seating. The service has always been really good every time Ive gone.

Hey! Went to assembly to go to shopping and stopped by to grab some ice cream at JP Licks. There was a longgggg line to the point where we had to awkwardly stand in the doorway..... Service was quick and we got our ice cream cones pretty quickly. Ice cream is yummy- just like every JP Licks but the store is a bit small and narrow making it get crowded quickly. Had to do the shuffle a few times to let people by. They have outdoor seating so on a nice day its lovely but when its rainy you might not find seating.

More expensive than your typical ice cream place but worth every penny. The line tends to be long on nice evening nights but again it is worth your time. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. Just salted caramel cookies and cream might be the best ice cream I have ever had. Homemade waffle cone was the icing on the cake so to speak.

This is the second day weve been in Assembly and both days there has been a line out the door after 5 pm. Based on other reviews this is not unusual. There is an all day breakfast menu, coffee shop menu, and pastry menu. 2 categories have quick throw away dates. Which is probably why theyre served all day, straining your already bare minimum staff.The staff is also greatly unorganized. If you insist only only staffing 6 people then train them as an assembly line. Assembly lines have proven to be the best way to handle an assembly line. Its been proven since Junior Achievement days. 1 to take the order, 2 to make it, 1 to ring, 2 to run/make food/stock/clean. Minimize the (so far) FORTY MINUTE WAIT TIME ON A SUNDAY AT 6:30!

Absolutely amazing flavors. Id highly recommend the rum raisin or the cappuccino crunch. These two flavors provide a different flavor profile with less sweetness compared to the other flavors.

Great ice cream place, a must try if you want an Ice Cream and have extra time while at Assembly. I feel bad for the owner of this store. The current employees take on average 8-9 minutes per customers to serve their orders. This results in customers leaving the store to not have to wait. Its so bad even the cashier takes her time to bring up people.Apart from the employees and us waiting 43 minutes to be served, everything its really good.

Get there while they still have the Fruity Pebbles ice cream special! Its wonderful-a little on the sweet side but DELICIOUS!! J.P. licks has all of your ice cream needs. A good variety of ice cream, frozen yogurt, ice cream sandwiches and other take home yumminess!! Plus they also have cute little treats for your pups! How can you go wrong

The location is convenient for shoppers at Assembly Square. The staff is exceptionally friendly when the store is quiet enough for them to converse and they are happy to provide samples on request. There are monthly limited flavors available on a regular basis - some hits, some misses - as well as a good selection year round. If youre looking for ice cream after a long day of shopping or after a movie, Id recommend them

Sizes range from just a small scoop to a large so its one of the few ice cream places that the size matches how much ice cream you get. Also serves some breakfast items and coffee.

They had dairy free, vegan and soy based ice cream along with regular flavored dairy ice cream. DF smoothie drinks. I just didnt see sugar free which would be nice in the future for all in a group or family to enjoy their time together. They do pay attention to survey suggestions, as I have requested several non - dairy flavors on their website. The service is wonderful! You can sit indoors or outdoors under umbrella covered tables or out in the sunshine on a deck like area with chairs.

Service was a bit slow, but man was it worth it. I had the Salted Carmel Bourbon Sundae, which was amazing. My friend had a cookies and cream soft serve that was apparently great aswell.
