As usual they do a great job with customer service. This time they actually notified me on time when my car was done. The 2 times before I waited a long time and finally had to go to the desk myself only to find out my car had been done for awhile.I appreciate the price of the oil change and how quick they were this time.The mechanic must have had extremely oily shoes because oil is all over my new carpet mat.I would appreciate if Gates would clean the mat for me now.Thank you.
In person service was okay, cannot completely trash all individuals I worked with. But this was the worst experience I have ever had and hope to never have again. We needed a basic 2nd vehicle, bought a used Taurus with relatively low miles and a good warranty, thought it would be reliable for minimal use. After using the car for a week, it wouldnt start. We brought it in to Gates, they fixed it, brought it home and the next day was the same. Brought it back to them, was sent to a Ford dealership where it basically sat with no work done for 3 weeks. After many calls we discovered it was still broken and just wanted to return the car and be done. Gates would only agree to pay us for the car what they had originally bought it for and we had to pay the difference. $1600 to get out of a car we had only had for a week, not including our $500 deposit. We were told at the time something would be attempted to make this right but as yet weeks later and many more phone calls nothing is right about this. Cannot speak to their new car buying experience, but DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM GATES.
Gates got my car in at the appointed time. I was able to wait in their beautiful waiting room, which is set up for easy social distancing, The work on my car was done quickly and well, at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend Gates for service on your Toyota.
Excellent customer service!! Gavin assisted me in finding exactly what I was looking for within the range that I had given him. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer every question I had. At no time did I feel pressured or rushed into making a decision and I truly appreciated his honesty. The entire process was great and remained just as we had negotiated…no last minute changes.The financial portion was handled by Andrew. He too was very professional, and also took the time to explain everything in detail prior to me signing anything. This was the first time I have ever made a purchase of this size and truly enjoyed doing it.
Ive been a long time customer with Gates Service center. I have always had a pleasant experience. The dealership location not so much. The staff were not pleasant or friendly. This is poor customer service. I will continue to use Gates, cause Im a loyal customer. However Im disappointed with the interaction with customers.
Friendly. Adam was amazing, explaining everything step by step with financing! The one thing that was disappointing was there was very little gas in the tank. Would have been better with a full tank of gas when we pulled off of the lot!
I always have stellar experiences here, but today was above and beyond that. I was running about 30 minutes early for my appointment, but I was going to end up about an hour late overall for the rest of my day. On top of that, my windshield was just recently showing odd dirt/grime and I wondered if that could be looked at during the same appointment. Michael Ferrara got the vehicle right in, and said that he thought the detail team might have some advice but he wasn’t sure they could fix it today. Not only did your team get the oil changed quickly, but the detail team cleaned that window to its original new status (CRYSTAL clear)! All in less time than I would have expected the oil change to be done. I know that windshield thing seems trivial, and definitely something I could have fixed myself . But the fact that your team took care of it for me so expeditiously, and with the same care they would have if it were something related to safety really means a lot to me. It really is the little things…and you did not disappoint! Thank you!
We made an appointment for 60,000 mile servicing for our Toyota Tundra as we were traveling across country. Mike was our service rep and he was professional, helpful, warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. He assured us our vehicle would be thoroughly checked and serviced to make sure we had a safe and dependable vehicle to continue our travels. We picked up our truck 2 hours later and Mike made us feel confident that all was well. Other staff members at Gate Toyota were friendly and helpful as we we waited for our vehicle. A very good experience, glad we stopped in!!

Took my 2006 Corolla in for front end alignment after having lower control arms (with ball joint) replaced privately. They quickly adjusted toe and camber to spec. Steering wheel is now centered. Happy with price too.
Coach was informative and helpful. he was willing to negotiate the price for us and wanted so much for us to buy the car. it was a great car and I think we will be back to get it :)
I always get great service at Gates. Today I hit a branch in the road after a rainstorm and the cover under the engine broke lose dragging while I drove. I wedged it up and called Gates. They said drop it off and we will check it out. I said can you do the maintenance while you have it. The next day my cover was fixed, maintenance done and only had to find a ride to work for one day. Fear factor about cost etc unlimited, total cost $89.00. A total checkup, couple of screws, oil change and tire rotation done the next morning.
Everyone was kind, courteous and professional. I was not entirely satisfied with the financial man. I had difficulty hearing so he closed the door. However, he did explain the key warranty that I might want and then had me sign papers. He did not explain any mileage coverage for repairs. When I got home and looked over all papers I realized I had nearly $3000 in protection that I was going to pay for and felt I did not need. I called to cancel that as I am now refinancing with a bank that gave me a percentage lower. He told me I would have to wait 30 days until I could cancel the protection. Hoping I am able to do that.

Service department is very accommodating. I am always able to find a time that works with my schedule. I like to wait for my car and they work on it at the time promised. I have confidence that what they tell me my car needs is correct and necessary. I have been using their service department for many years and have been very happy.

Everyone was great. Jimmy in sales did a good job. Finance was a breeze. They tried to stiff me on a second key. I called and manager took care of it with no issues. Truck could of been cleaned better but no big deal. Probably can’t hire help like most businesses. No fuel in vehicle either. Ok done crabbing. All & all I’ll give them a B

When I was contacted about the diagnosis of my SUVs problem, Lexie stuck to the issue and did not try to upsell me, which I greatly appreciated. The work was done well, and I got my vehicle back that afternoon. I am very satisfied with Gates Toyota.
I bought my 2010 prius from Gates Toyota it only had 4 miles on it. Gates Toyota has taken good care of me and car every time I have come to them for all my car needs from oil changes ( to shocks and struts after my car had over 125,000 miles). I have traveled back and forth from Nevada to Indiana twice getting 500 miles to a tank of gas. And Im ready to go traveling again with out worry because of how well my car still runs because of expert care from all the staff at Gates Toyota, thank you all, Chelsea

I had one tire with low air pressure of 29, the norm is 36. The service department checked all my tires and added air to the tire that was low. Two days later after returning from Michigan City, I notice the tire was low again and the pressure read 14. I went to have my car serviced the next morning (Saturday) it was a 1.45 hr wait due to scheduled appointments. No problem I understand. But what I don’t understand is why the service tech didn’t check the tire for a reason why a slow leak. We had a discussion with the service dept manager about how often customers come in with nails in their tire from road construction. Prevention the first time would had saved a potential road side service for a Chevy Blazer from being stranded. The Gates Ireland location need to reopen in a hurry!!

Went in for routine oil change and asked for new wiper blades to be installed as well. The wiper blades they put on were WAY too big. The one on the right side hung over the edge of the windshield trim a couple inches. If their service people do something so obviously wrong on something so visible it makes you wonder what they do on things you cant see.When we pointed it out to the guys who check you in and out they corrected the wipers but didnt seem to think much about it.Why spend the extra money to go to a Toyota dealer for service if you cant trust them to install the correct parts?

Purchased a Toyota certified used vehicle from this dealer last summer. The evaporator hose was disconnected from the HVAC system, with water slowly leaking into the carpet. We didnt realize what was happening until mold started growing on the carpets. All of the carpet pad needed to be replaced. I wouldnt recommend buying a used vehicle from this dealership, even if it is certified. Apparently that means nothing!
My experience with Gates Toyota was phenomenal. My sales-person Ollie was so sweet, helpful, and was more than willing to answer any questions I had during the process of buying my new vehicle! Before looking at vehicles, she asked about any features we were looking for, any colors we wanted/didn’t want, and there was no pressure at any time to buy a vehicle. Same goes for Andrew, the gentleman who helped me with the financing portion of the process. He is so knowledgeable about everything there was to know in regards to interest rates, breaking down the warranty, explaining my credit situation and how it correlated with the interest rate I was given, and was just another reason my experience was so great! I have had horrible past experiences buying cars which is normally why I wont buy from a dealer, this past one was a great one though. They were very fair when working with my trade in and got my new car at a reasonable price as well. They made it all super easy and explained every detail so I understood as well as answering all my questions. Ollie was wonderful to work with and found me exactly what I was looking for.
Erin my salesman was great.till i got to the financing part of it. What i agreed to was totally different from the outcome. I agreed to lower payments.which was alot higher.longer term than i wanted.So im very dissatisfied with my purchase because of this.
They have never offered good trade ins and our last visit was the same. A low offer.

So while the service department was very kind I do have some issues. I scheduled my service for a recall that was supposed to take a full day so I made arrangements to not have a vehicle. When I arrived I was told that the only technician that could handle the recall was out so they would take my car for the full day to do an inspection and then I would have to come back another day. So I guess in essence my problem is, why not just call me and reschedule and save me a trip?

We had an overall great experience at Gates. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly, and our sales man Greg “Coach” was excellent to work with. We truly feel like we got a great vehicle at a great price, and we trust Gates to provide vehicles that will last. If I had to knit pick any negative it would be in the vehicles detailing. After being detailed I was still able to wipe visible dirt off of the dash, storage compartments, and drink holders. But that would in no way prevent us from recommending Gates to friends.
All done in good time and no surprises. Very good handling of my oil change and tire rotation. Nice price too.
Gates Toyota service department is the only place I go. The guys do great work and are trustworthy. They don’t rush through things and are always super polite. The waiting area is spacious and clean.

The service department is always polite, efficient, and effective! Due to a recall, fuel pumps had to be replaced on two of our cars. They got us in right away and finished in less time than scheduled! Very fine!
I always am treated in a professional and friendly manner. It is always clean and inviting, even in the bay where I leave my car. They always work on what they say theyre going to work on and if they find something else they let me know if it is an optional or vital item that needs repair and give me the option if I want it repaired. There work is 99% accurate, which I think is very good thing compared to other repair shops. The only qualm I have is that they require a diagnostic test, every time I bring my car in, even for obvious things that should not have to be tested to know the issue and what is needed to repair them. That is where they lose one star with me. All else outweighs the darn diagnostic fee and I trust them, so I come back.
I took my vehicle in for a scheduled check-up. I was told the wait would be a couple of hours. This seemed reasonable and I came prepared for that. After three hours I had not been updated or offered any information about my vehicle or how much longer it would be. Finally, after five hours, I inquired at the desk. They retrieved my vehicle and began a somewhat lengthy process of typing in the information to check me out. It was as if my time was not at all valuable to them. I find this surprising because they carry the trusted name of Toyota and I expected more. I will not be using them again for service, despite their convenient location.
I am very happy with the service and work I have done on my two vehicles. I come every 3000 miles for oil change and if any thing needs attention, it gets done. Your service employees are always courteous. Best place for an oil change. Service personnels are friendly and efficient. They let me know if they could see anything out of place after the oil change. Not a health check of the car but a visual check. The attention is very appreciated.

Ive bought several cars from gates and always been a good experience. This time Im a little put off. After signing finance papers and getting the car, I realized I only was given 1 key. I asked if maybe they had forgotten, no apparently they only had one key. When asking what can be done, this was now my problem. When youre paying new prices for a used car you expect a little better. But Ill remember this next time Im looking for a vehicle and Ill look elsewhere.

The employees were friendly and helpful! I did have to wait two hours for an oil change I had an appointment for, and then my car leaked oil after. When I took it back, there was great customer service again, but it took another hour and a half to fix the drain plug.I did not have a great experience my first time around, but Id be willing to give them another try!

Sold my car with free and clear title to Gates on 6/24/21. Check is being mailed tomorrow, 7/7/21. While sitting at the desk executing the sale I was told it would take 7-10 days to to receive my check, even though I provided a free and clear title. My choice, but just be aware it will likely take that long and there may be alternatives.

While spending an extended stay with Family in South Bend, my RAV4 came due for its scheduled maintenance. I asked if they could take me even though my prepaid coupons said to use them in Georgia. They said of course and let me know about a recall as well. They had everything fixed, good as new in a couple of hours. Great service - very friendly!

They did an amazing job. Even with my trade in I went from paying 23% to 13%. I absolutely love my new car! Their customer service is the best. I didnt feel like they were being pushy at all which made it easier. Mercedes listened to what I wanted and found me a car that was perfect for me and my budget.

Always quick, friendly, and the fairest price full synthetic oil changes I’ve found in South Bend. They never try to pressure you with add ons, but are thorough in their inspections. Rarely do I have an issue with walking in and getting out quickly,, but I have found that lunch time is one of their peak times, so I avoid that. I won’t go anywhere else now, because I always regret it afterward.
We bought a grand caravan. We had decided not to take it to the mechanic because we were told all cars at Toyota have to go thru an inspection, this minivan supposedly went thru the inspection and was in perfect condition. Within the first hours of driving it the engine light went on and the transmission was not shifting. We took it back and were told it was going to be 5,000 to get it fixed. After talking to the sells man and telling him this was not acceptable, he talked to his manager and he told us that they were going to order the damage part which was 700 and that we only had to pay 350. This however meant that my wife would be without a car for a month because they had to order the part. The manager agreed to give us a rental. Even though they gave us some solution we feel very disappointed, first we were told this car was in perfect condition and safe for my family, then to get it fixed we were told it was going to be 5000 and then told it would only be 350. Not a good experience.
I only have Gates service my car. Always friendly and will always keep my car in the best condition.
