The food here is ok. The pancakes are fluffy, the French toast is generous and tasty. I even liked the coffee. The service left a lot to be desired. Everyone was really nice, but they were busy and we elected to sit outside on a gorgeous day. The hostess sat us and brought us our coffee quickly. Everything went downhill from there. They were late in taking our order, they were late in bringing our food, but they were quick to bring us our bill. I wasnt impressed by the food or the service. But if everything else is busy, its a good plan C.

The staff were warm and welcoming. They accommodated our small dog in her carrier. They even brought water for my pup. Very nice considering the poor service we have been getting at other businesses we would expect to receive. Thank you Red Hut cafe

Really good food. Service is very friendly. Hightly recommended.Just one suggestion NEVER sit next to the red door going to the patio. It got slam so high that the frames on the wall felt down. 😱 it was so crazy annoying

So this place was kind of a dive but still worth the 30 minute wait! There were only kids running it and honestly they were doing a fantastic job!! Nobody had tried the peanut butter burger but our server said everyone who orders it usually finishes it so we got it based on that and we were NOT disappointed!!😜 it tasted fine and our pecan waffle was excellent!! Definitely will be back next time were in town!!!

Delicious breakfast! Waffle, pancakes, toast, country fried steak, hash browns, eggs, bacon, and sausage! We sat at a round table on the side of the restaurant and didn’t have anyone else near us. Our small dog was able to sit and relax with us while we ate. Both of our servers were very nice and attentive. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

We were in Tahoe for a family girls weekend. We chose the Red Hut for breakfast. It was very cozy inside and a little hard for a disable guest, but we made it inside. After waiting in line for a table, we were seated at a table for 4. We ordered and our food came out quickly for the amount of people in the restaurant. The food was delicious! We all left full and happy. Wish I had taken pics of the food. Large plates, just about enough to share.

Delightful. Love old hole-in-wall establishments that have proved themselves to be hot spots for great food. Its a small place obviously loved by locals. Serve breakfast and lunch. Had the bacon waffle. Yum! Good coffee. Excellent service. Just a warm comfy way to start day.

The original Red Hut! Its a little confusing, with the sign out front calling it the Red Hut Waffle Shop, but its the same place! Great food, very nice staff. Super small - not many tables, maybe 5 or 6 inside, and maybe 10 bar stools - so expect a long wait on the weekends. But so worth it.

Small restaurant, yet there is both table seating and counter seating on stools, which was pretty cool. The menu selection was really good, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections available. The service was provided by 5 very busy guys, who worked very well together and looked after your every need, and were quite friendly. We enjoyed our meals, and certainly would go back again on our next trip to Tahoe.

Took a quick trip to South Lake Tahoe and had brunch at our favorite SLT restaurant. The food and service and table were awesome as usual. Pecan waffle was tasty, but their gravy is superior. Next time I will get that for my waffle!And now is the time for a much needed get-a-way!! No lines!

I cant even begin to say how much we loved this place. It is heaven on earth. The food and staff is amazing. Dont even get me started on the jalapeño bacon and pumpkin pancakes. More than 5 stars in my opinion. They get a 10!

This cafe is our favorite breakfast place when we visit South Lake Tahoe. The city now allows both indoor and outdoor dining. We opted for outdoor to limit Covids risk but also to enjoy the beautiful weather. Red Hut Cafe is known for their waffles. My husband had his favorite waffle with strawberry and whipped cream. My daughter had a vegetable omelet. I had eggs over easy with toasts. All were cooked perfectly and were tasty. Good pricing. Staffs and patrons are all careful wearing mask and maintaining social distance. This is our first long distance (5 hours drive) overnight away from home since mid-March. We all feel comfortable with the new normal wearing mask and maintaining distance. It is good to be out of the house and to see others are also concious about the current situation that we are facing.

Food was delicious. Coffee was good. Staff was friendly and welcoming.4 stars because either the cup I had was dirty or the ice machine needed to be changed because my water was oily looking and dirty.

The food tasted good, but the waffle was weirdly spongy and gummy. As for the service, it was very slow. ~10 minutes waiting to be seated, and ~20 minutes for the food to come out. The staff was nice but every 5 minutes would ask if we were fine. I did enjoy your food, but I wouldn’t come back

Ate here twice. I had the avocado-tomato-and-cheese. It was excellent. This is a good meal prior to a day of skiing (if you know what I mean). Friendly staff too.

Best breakfast In South Lake Tahoe!! Great friendly service and delicious food! Cant say enough about it they have a great selection, are good for families with kids. I would eat here weekly if I lived here. Having been here for 8 days this is the only place we visited twice for breakfast and I wish we just ate here every day for breakfast. We had: 2 different omelets, Red Hut Roasti (ordered because their hash browns are the best) 2 eggs with jalapeno bacon. The kids got french toast, pancakes. Everything was awesome! Next time Ill try the corn bread waffle.

A small cafe where the tables are close together so there is little privacy but the wonderful breakfasts make up for it. We reallyenjoyed the pancakes, pumpkin. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will go there again.

The food was pretty good but slightly overpriced for portion size and quality. Its a teeny, tiny place with only one bathroom. The wait was long and they want you in and out as quick as possible. They cater to the locals, which is totally their prerogative. Just expect to have people show up and be seated ahead of you.

For 37 years been coming here. The service and simple fare is dependable. The oldest two have much more patina, the newer one is more touristy. Liza is a charm on Kingsbury, and so is Diane in the original. Enjoy!

The original red hut!! Love it always our go to spot for breakfast, great service and great food! Been coming here for four years straight. Even though there is a red hut cafe down the road from where we always stay when we in south Tahoe. Heard nothing but bad things from the spot on corner of ski run Blvd and Lake Tahoe Blvd from the locals so we dont even bother.

Love Red-hut. Discovered the place back in 2003 and every time Im in Tahoe I go back at least once or twice. Love the food and having a good yarn to the friendly courteous staff. Its a shame that I don’t live in Tahoe so that I could go there more frequently.

The food and service here were excellent. The restaurant is small and cozy, well worth the shoet wait we had when we arrived. Prices were very reasonable, my husband and I ate with coffee and tip for about $25. I will definitely come back when Im back in town.
