What a wonderful family owned business! Great location, kid friendly atmosphere and the food is good. My favorite is the crunchy wrap and sweet potato fries.
Ive tried, because I like the guy who owns it -- but the food really isnt very good and the prices can get high for certain things. Look -- this is a perfectly acceptable diner. Youre not going to get sick and the people are pleasant. Ive ordered basic breakfasts and lunch sandwiches and everything is fine -- but nothing is really good. Also, the prices on the online menu dont match what they are using the in the diner, so be careful when ordering.
Owners are friendly and accommodating. I noticed a user posted a review about not being able to take up a large table during prime hours. Shame on her for placing unneeded stress on a family owned business because of her own selfish and unreasonable request. Especially during these difficult times! People should be great full these businesses are staying open to offer good, comfort food to all during these stressful times; while risking their own health in doing so!
I have been admirer of this place for years. I was just approached by a waitress to move from the table to a smaller one because I was single. I have been sitting at this table for years bringing friends and clients and I have always been enjoying the view from this table even when having my favorite breakfast by myself. This was rude discriminatory action of outcasting. I will never set foot there again. I have always been tipping them generously. And she said she was sorry when I told her I was leaving. NO! SHE WAS NOT SORRY. I wish her well. My Sunday morning was ruined.
Perfect little diner for your basic grub. Eggs, potatoes, coffee. And you cannot miss their house made donut! It is dangerous: highly addictive;)
This is literally a 2 minute walk from my office. Very laid back old school diner feel, with tolerant staff. Food is always hot and fresh out the kitchen . Chicken fingers with honey mustard for starters is an excellent choice and a cheeseburger deluxe you cant go wrong. The eggs Benedict with corned beef hash is also a very pleasing brunch choice
I follow Bedford Street Diner on Facebook. Their service is Extraordinary and each patron is treated with Customize service. The portions are large and the food is delicious. Their prices are extremely reasonable Try one of the signature items their donuts.
Owner is rude. Food is bland. Do not recommend. Way better options nearby
This place is very close to where I live and we decided to try this one Saturday morning. We got omelets and waffle. It was good. But the fork was dirty. I had to ask for another fork. Maybe it was just a one time thing I dont know but I got to review this based on this visit. We got multi bread and whole wheat. I felt the multi bread had a stale smell. Probably because of these reasons, I may not go back again. I really wanted to like this place because its so close to my house. Bummer!
The food is awesome here and their prices are the best. I recommend trying this place out when you have a chance and its a great place for the family.
Friendly relaxed hometown feeling. Good coffee. Favorite weekday morning breakfast joint.
Excellent old school diner. Recommend eggs benedict for breakfast and the tzatziki wrap for lunch. Cant go wrong.
Love this place. Good food, quick, good people. My go to for breakfast in Stamford.
I love the Cesar salad and the fish sandwich they make it tastes amazing definitely two of my favorite items on the menu definitely recommend the salad and sandwich so much flavor love it ! Definitely coming back :)
There food is trash, i have ordered from here several times to see if they will redeem themselves and they never follow instructions, the food is always soggy and cold. and never follow notes. do not recommend. save your money because they do not improve their quality of food nor follow notes.
Was seriously considering ordering something from Uber eats til I saw the disgusting & unapologetic responses from the owner on here. Please reconsider ordering from a place that doesn’t apologize for bugs in their food & an owner who argues with their paying customers rather than taking accountability. Where’s Gordon Ramsey when you need him?
I ordered an omelette, and in the literal first bite I noticed that there was a bug, a decent sized dead cricket in my omelette. I immediately left with my family. That was the single most gross eating experience of my life. I never leave reviews, but I felt that I owed it to people to know that there is an issue with the restaurant’s food supplies, cleaning, etc. One of the workers, maybe the manager or owner said “we just sprayed” and “sometimes it happens”. Just gross!
Ordered a waffle which tasted like a piece of cold cardboard. The coffee was weak and half the employees dont seem to understand what a mask mandate is.
Ordered a bacon egg and cheese, asked bacon be well done. The sandwich contained maybe a total of a half piece of under cooked bacon. My friend ordered sunny side up eggs which were also under cooked and the bread they passed off as french toast was basically burnt toast. I do not recommend
Stopped by BSD to grab a quick snack of buffalo wings. Loved sitting at the old school counter with the fixed, spinning seats. Reminded me of my grandparent’s restaurant. Anyway, wings were solid, good crisp and level of heat without being soggy. Service was quick even though I came at a very slow time in my the late afternoon. Curious abt a next visit already...
Bugs in the food and owner doesnt see it as a problem
The food is very bland, I had to use almost a full salt shaker just to get a hint of flavor and it still wasnt good. It is also pricey to be a diner.
I love the food here and the service is one of the best. I do recommend you try them out if youre in the area and looking for something amazing to eat.
They make the perfect classic breakfast. For a couple years when I lived a block away Id eat breakfast there multiple times a week & it never got old cause its basics well-executed. Service is spectacular.
Waitress was very nice!
Healthy Omelet was great. Coffee and Fruit Salad, Excellent. Love this place.
What is not to like about the Bedford diner? The Best fresh made donuts every morning, so yummy.Covid safe has been their moto from day one, great menu, fairly priced and great staff. During covid-19, they made lunch for the nurses at Stamford Hospital.I hope you too, can enjoy your experience at Bedford Diner. The are open for dinning from breakfast in to dinner. Pickup is easy, as is delivery.
I love this place the people are so nice
Food was great and was ready quick.
Solid omelet good prices, classic all around. Sad that covid has still crushed the morning business!
Good food. Friendly service.
Lovely little diner, very accommodating.
Great food and very friendly staff.
Coffee med roast and mid prices, it was a chill pill before the court date for the nerves!
Didnt get a chance to sit and eat, had a plane to catch. By the looks of things, A cozy dinner with good food
The place was great! They were quick to take our order and the food was great. Could be a bit kinder though.
Very nice, very attentive and the place was clean. I have 2 autistic children and they were treated with warmth and kindness, no nasty, irritated looks at all. Thank you.
What’s the point of having employees wear masks if they don’t even have them covering their nose or mouth? Food was good, diner quality, but surely disappointed that the guy who looked like he was running the place had his mask hanging off his face the whole time.
Love the food!
Friendly waitresses, delicious food. They customized the food based on my requirements. The ambiance is nice. Would definitely recommend this place.
Good food. Basic customer service. No effort goes into it.
Im a FOODIE and love to travel to restaurants particularly moms and pops eateries. Here you feel at home with the decor, ambiance, reasonable prices, and the food! The homemade donuts are delicious and veggies are in season! A good portion of their food are HOMEMADE such as their pies and donuts, which are based on family recipes passed down. Service is good and they are attentive. Nice to see the wall of fame of people who visited in the past like Michelle Obama. Also, a sense of WARMTH with photos of friends and family through the restaurant. I would have loved to give 4 stars; however, when asking a question about the menu, the gentleman who works upfront had a SARCASTIC response and seemed impatient, not a kind tone. Otherwise, very lovely diner and I would RECOMMEND:).
Service was great and staff very pleasant. Food was good
The food is simply delicious! Homemade donuts, clean diner coffee, and anything with their chili slaps.
Awful. Just awful.
Tasty food, served fast and in visually appealing manner. The outside appearance of the diner might stop you though. I almost changed my mind about eating there, and it would be a waste. Menu has an extensive selection, you can find something for everyone. The waitstaff is polite and quick. And the place is open for breakfast when most of the places in the area are not. Overall hot a bad choice.
This is a solid diner experience, from all day breakfast to the American flag decorations. The place is clean and bright. Our server was friendly and brought my brother extra sauce for his chicken parm. I had the fishermans platter with shrimp, cod and a crab cake. I used some of the extra vinegret from the salad for the fried food. The salad was way above average, with garbanzo beans and green pepper. Very satisfying.
Use to be alot better, but still good for a quick bite.
Awful food. The chicken sandwich that I ordered was obviously old meat. The outside of the chicken breast was tough and discolored where the inside was stringy and white. The meal was extremely expensive: one beer and two sandwiches totaled $32 which also left a bad impression on us. Thumbs down to you Bedford Street Diner. In addition, the gentleman that was cooking the meals who was the chef I guess, had a baby there with him and he was taking the baby to the kitchen cooking with the baby in his arms. Ive never seen anything like that. More people need to stand up and speak whats on their mind when it comes to deficient quality in restaurant food and the money were mandated to pay for that. Please note the owners snide reply and unapologetic attitude and seriously consider eating at a restaurant that actually cares about what they serve to the public and that takes responsibility when theyre in the wrong. Bedford Street Diner is certainly not that place.
A warning for anyone who cares, they arent too concerned about Covid spreading. My waitress sat next to a customer at the counter not wearing a mask who loudly told her he just had gotten tested for Coronavirus yesterday because his lungs were burning. Waitress wasnt wearing a mask either. Overheard her talking about hyperchondriacs. Maybe I should have known because Fox News was on their television.
Friendly staff and good food. Lots of great breakfast options. I recommend the specials menu. But I do have problems deciding what to order, everything sounding so appealing. Plenty of seating and a relaxed atmosphere.
Did take out for years. Came here today to see what we could get for our kids and saw a #maga2020 comment from the diner? No reason that needed to be posted here and wont be back.If you can look past the unnecessary maga reference, then their Tiger Schulmann sandwich is great.
Creative menu options. Delicious food. Great service. Highly recommended!
Amazing food, friendly people, and good prices. Pretty sure Ive found my new brunch place!
Best diner in town! All the cops and lawyers go here so you know it has to be good.
Polite staff, everything home cooked upon order, clean and welcoming atmosphere. Staff greets everyone with a warm and welcoming smile a the food is PHENOMENAL. Whether you need breakfast lunch or dinner these guys and gals will take care of you!
Great breakfast! Cordial waiters and waitress. I was there with my sister everyone knew her as a regular... Very nice experience..alot like Cheers! 🌟
The food is awesome. The service is very good. The restaurant was full when we arrived but they sat us down fast. We have a family of six so it can take awhile but they were fast and friendly. There extras are a bit pricey.
Quiet diner catering to locals. Out of town folks will be served but only after there is time to chat with the regular customers. Be patient and enjoy the standard diner experience.
Great diner with great prices! Helens Special, a chicken sandwich with roasted red pepper and honey dijon mustard was most appetizing. Coffee is good too, and has a lightness about it without being weak. Fries are crisp without being greasy. There is ample parking in the back. Waiting staff is friendly and accomodating to requests. Very competitive pricing for the area. Would definitely recommend.
Terrible owner
Whenever we stay in Stamford we visit Bedford Diner for breakfast. We generally have a large group 6 or more.. it is a small diner but they are always accommodating and their service is always great. Most recently we went with a group of 8. Everything came out to order. Service was great, coffee was always filled, food was excellent! Great breakfast menu. Will continue to be our ‘go to’ for breakfast!
My favorite diner in Stamford. Amazing service and the tastiest food. Hits the perfect spot for breakfast. I come here every time I visit and love it!
Has an amazing breakfast! Food was so good and they made all of the substitutions we asked for. The place is a little run down and the floors smelled a little funny like they were cleaned with a dirty mop, but the service was great.
Another excellent diner in an unlikely location. Lots of parking in the back lot. Good menu, food and service were very good, will be returning.
This is a very dirty place! The mens room will make you lose your appetite.Owner or the manager will walk right by you at the counter not even say hello so he can go talk to his local cronies. All the chairs need a heavy scrubbing. I dont know what happened this was a nice place a few years back.
Grilled chicken salad is fresh and delicious. Try the cheese cake... awesome.
Food is ok, service is good, however the place is pretty grungy, unfortunately.
I literally just went there and order some breakfast last minute. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the food. I ordered kids smile pancakes just excepting the pancakes to be a happy face but no. The mouth was bacon, the eyes were blueberries, and the noise was a strawberry. My son couldn’t be happier at the fact the the pancakes were shaped like Mickey Mouse as well lol. Overall great experience with breakfast from them
Good old fashioned diner. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Get pancakes.
Great local diner. delicious food and fast service. a recommended spot for all.
Great Breakfast! I always get the Bedford Special of eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes and either French toast or a pancake. Its a great deal for about $8. Consistently great breakfast.
Potatoes were not good, tasted like leftovers, menu says 1 slice of french toast and I only got a half slice and it was very doughy, eggs were eggs, nothing special and bacon was alright but a bit unevenly cooked. Priced way too high for the quality. I will not be returning.
Ill start by saying Im not a fan of diners at all. If you choose very simple food its fine but dont order anything too fancy (I ordered a special of the day wrap and it was tasteless). The sandwich was supposed to include avocado but that ingredient was missing. I pointed it out to the waiter who promptly came with a few slices of avocado for me. Its convenient to the courthouse and police station and thats why its so busy at lunch.
Mom and pop feel. Consistently good food, awesome desserts. Maybe a touch pricey
This place has been consistently good all around. Not 5 star-level, but certainly above average. Great food, good service, convenient location.
Service is usually fast and friendly and Ive never gotten a bad meal here. The prices are more than reasonable and they offer small protons of all of the basics so that people like me (who just cant eat a full stack or 3 eggs plus sides) can get a reasonably-sized meal. Best of all, the bacon is always cooked to perfection--crunchy.
Nice place to eat. Service was quick. People were nice. Food was good.
Went here because my favorite diner was closed in the middle of the afternoon....crazyness. Anyhow, the food here tasted sooooo much better. I couldnt believe it. This is now my go to place for sit down. The scenery isnt as good as my other favorite diner, but its good service, nice environment, and great food!
Stopped by while in the area and loved it. Great food and friendly service. Will definitely come back
Me and hubby went 6:00am order breakfast be careful make sure u ask for the special walk out paying almost 30$ for pancakes for 2 people Smdh first time like we know to say special or if not charge me 27$ in the early morning rip off
The food was good once someone came to serve me then the next day when I came back because it was across the street from the hotel the waiter explained thatmy kind really doesnt come there. Its a great place if you dont mind a little racism in 2017
Great diner, food, and workers!
I called in a cheeseburger shortly before they closed, but they didnt turn away my order or give me attitude. Some places will give you a bad attitude if you call in food shortly before closing, but not this place! The food was ready very quickly, and the guys working there were so nice. They even gave me 2 complimentary donuts! I had been having a bad night before that but that really cheered me up. The food was delicious too. Really yummy, and they gave me 3 slices of tomato instead of just one. Also, the tomato was actually good, not soggy and old like a lot of places serve these days
Pros: Good Omelettes, a good menu diversity (within reason). Consistent.Cons: Service can be inattentive (especially on coffee and water refills). Breakfast on weekends gets busy so prepare to wait on line a bit.
My server was asking to eat my toes and he did, but he bit one of them off. The food tasted like his toes and on top of that my dad left me there and never came back so 10/10 would recommend.
Keep up the good work . good food . good prices
The wait staffs are great. The food is prepared just right; not greasy nor is it salty, just healthy.
Waitresses r excellent n quick
Great, friendly service. As close to home made as is possible. Food is comforting and delicious.
Really disappointed. I ordered the Nannys Veggie Burger Wrap which was supposed to have a veggie burger, roasted red pepper, avocado, and some sort of ranch. It also came with fries, which were the most edible part of the meal. The veggie burger was more like a mush of paste put into a wrap. The avocado was not fresh at all. It was mushy and when I opened the wrap it was brown, as if it had been open and oxidizing for a while, or was just plain old. If there *was* ranch on this wrap I couldnt taste it over the roasted red pepper, which took up a half of the wrap. Its really sad because I usually love the food from this diner. Their Irish Eggs Benedict are awesome -- probably should have stuck with that order instead. This wrap was inedible and I, unfortunately, had to toss it out because it was just so foul tasting.
Come here a lot and love it I always get the mac and cheese
Their food was really good. Waitress was very nice
Great place. Food good. Staff wonderful. Music loud though.
Cosy place, traditional breakfast/brunch for a fair price. Definitely recommend.
