Super friendly, attentive and nice staff. they also gave us complimentary mimosas! my bf and i tried the southern skillet, eggs benedict, and nutella pancakes. the food was so delicious and reasonably priced. you will not be disappointed when if you come try the food here! i will definitely be returning again and trying other options!!
We stumbled upon this place randomly driving by on the way from a trip. Although we did not expect much, all four of us were VERY impressed with the meal as well as the quickly and friendly service. My wife had the shakshuka, which she said was the best she ever had (and she is a tough critic!) My avocado and egg toast was phenomenal. The home made iced tea was out of this world. Place is cozy, quiet, clean and friendly, prices are very very reasonable. I wish a place like this was down the block from where we live, but well be back even though its not in an area that we usually visit.
Awesome, friendly diner on Douglaston Parkway. My friend and I went during Covid in August, they have several tables setup outside. I got the hungry jack stack off the brunch menu (all items are $17 or so and includes a drink of your choice): pancakes were fluffy, bacon was cooked perfectly, and good scrambled eggs too. They have Greek options like shakshuka as well. Closed things out with an extra yummy oreo shake.
I had the Greek salad with chicken and was fabulous. The chicken was flavorful cooked just right and the salad was endless. Will do it again soon
Restaurant overall felt clean. They spaced out the tables well. There are outdoor seatings available. But waiter messed up our order. Order a salad w grilled chicken but he didnt put in w griller chicken. Ate a plain salad. But the balsamic vinegarette dressing was delish. I didnt like the spider/cob webs on the top corner of the restaurant. The meat lover omelette was good.

I just finished eating half of a huge wrap. It had tons of grilled chicken, avocado, and chipotle mayo. Let me tell you, it was delicious! I don’t think I ever had a better chicken wrap. This place has been a staple for us since Covid. I usually order and pick up. Great food!

Pricy, but the food was actually good. When it comes to diners, I usually eat the same thing (French Toast, Eggs and Sausage). It was a very good meal, very good staff, the owner is very pleasant, the music was great (you know the music that plays over the PA system), and great ambiance.
After months of in-door dining closures, the wife and I couldn’t wait to finally experience a good old fashion morning breakfast.Let me start by saying this place is like none other 5/5. The food is on point, the service is top notch, the atmosphere and aroma is cozy and warm. I definitely recommend anyone coming here to enjoy with confidence knowing that all your dining needs will be met. My wife and I really had an incredible time and we are sure glad that they are still in business because we will definitely be back along with all of our friends and family.P.S. Been here many times. I have eat in the store and ordered to go. Also swung by to get soup. Every time, it is on point. Worth going even for a soup. Big tall guy at counter- is also a nice guy. You should go by and just get a soup- worth the drive.
After being deprived of great diner food over the last several years, the Parkway Diner was like a utopia of fresh delight I would hardly call diner. From the great, friendly service with attention to detail from Kiki, to the final bite of the best Greek salad I have ever had topped with fresh grilled chicken, this place is a winner. I wish we had something like it in N Georgia.
I was driving into Burlington with my boyfriend and cousin when we were hungry for a large breakfast. Thanks to yelp, I came across this gem that I would surely revisit if I was in the area again. Parkway Diner is definitely a traditional diner, historical from what I read off the history included on the menu! The service was immediate and very friendly. They only use locally sourced products from within the area which I really appreciated them posting up on their walls directly which farms they source from. Their daily specials sounded wildly delicious and Im sure they change frequently.My cousin ordered off the daily specials list and got scrambled eggs with broccoli and cheddar, with a large side of hash browns. He enjoyed his meal and scarfed down the entirety of the plate. My boyfriend got one of their burgers that was served with green apple slices, Vermont white cheddar, lettuce, tomato and red onion. He could not stop raving about how much he loved this burger and me being a food blogger surprised me when he said that it definitely was one of the best burgers he ever had. The portion size was HUGE and it really did taste delicious! I will definitely be adding apples at my summer bbqs to my burgers as a nice surprise after trying this burger. For me, I went with the open face hot turkey sandwich----unknowingly purchasing myself a whole turkey dinner. They use real turkey and smother the turkey on bread and your mashed potatoes in a homestyle gravy that was perfection. It was much too much for me to finish so I took it home and even enjoyed the leftovers later. We also got a side of corn beef hash that was a must try since its fresh and crispy----a rarity these days!The best part of my experience here was just how affordable our meals was. This past Saturday Afthernoon at about 5:30 . My wife and I walked into the Parkway Diner for the frist time . We were greeted at the door . And had to have ower temperature taken .Plus a phone number. It didint feel like a typical diner !It had a very homme feel to it !The food was very good . The service was Very Good !!It is very light inside, with lots of front windows . Clean and neatIts a really nice place to go and have something to eat !!

This is one of the best diners weve been to across all five boroughs. The pancakes are fluffy and tasted like they are made from scratch. The Parkway omelette is substantial, filled with avocado and cheddar cheese. The food arrived at the table with very little wait, and the staff were friendly. The coffee beans are roasted by For Five. Prices are fairly standard. Coffee and water refills are provided on request.
I went on a Saturday morning and it was empty. My mom and I ordered burgers 1 medium, 1 well done. A half hour later tasteless coleslaw came to the table and we sat waiting for the burgers. After 10-15 minutes I went to put quarters in the meter and my mother asked the waitress, “What’s taking so long?” She said, “Well they’re cooking it the way you wanted it.” We left.I’ve worked in the food industry for 15 years. It never takes 40 minutes to make a burger in a packed diner let alone in a empty one and when a customer asks you about an order- the worst thing you can do is make it their fault things aren’t ready. “I am so sorry ma’am let me check right away.” “ I was just about to go check on them I’ll let you know.” Anything would be better than, “well we’re just trying to cook it the way you wanted it!!”My mother got up left $10 for the iced coffee I drank and walked out. The hostess was very courteous she came over and refilled my coffee And when we left she did come out concerned and offered her apologies.It’s a shame because I live several blocks away from the diner and I was hoping to have a nice neighborhood place to go now that everything is opening back up.I hadn’t been out since this coronavirus started end it was the worst diner experience I’ve ever had

Delicious and small attentive touches (capers in home-made egg salad) make the food special. Attentive, cheerful hard-working staff make Parkway top of the local list for a quick bite. It’s a nice diner that looks like a family-owned business. Happened to come here because it was someplace that was open early in the morning. Service was great. Waitress comes to check on us from time to time, and not as frequently, which I don’t mind because I like to eat without frequent interruption. Ordered a hot chocolate and it was made with milk. Always a plus in my book. The food is good that I didn’t mind going back a few more times but since it’s been under new management, I’ve been afraid to revisit. I’ll update once I do!
First time ordering from this establishment and the meal I ordered was the most basic of orders. I not one 1/2 hour ago placed an order for a double bacon cheese burger cooked medium rare and burnt bacon. I received a double cheese burger without bacon and cooked well with the outsides charred black. I can honestly say I’m disappointed and will not be returning to this place in the future. Nice job on the lose of my business, I’m sure in these times you can afford to do that.
Perfect pit stop before starting your day with breakfast, brunch or, lunch. Food is good. But, nothing outstanding, the taste is what you would expect, no surprises. Though I havent tried dinner here. I have heard from others who have, and they enjoyed their meal as well. Servers are quick and personable.
Very good...owner, Nick is pleasant, helpful and comes up with many of the menu items...the Parkway is a must...spinach, poached eggs, on top of a Mediterranean sausage and fried cheese, delicious. I was looking for a new restaurant to try and came across this one on Yelp and I was pleasantly surprised. I came here this morning with my boyfriend and my parents. We arrived at 10am and had no problem getting a table. I ordered the whole wheat pancakes with a side of 2 eggs. My boyfriend ordered the whole wheat waffle with fruit. My mom ordered a vegetable omelette. My dad ordered a get and spinach omelette. The eggs come with home fries/french fries and toast/bagel. My pancakes were great; flavorful, somewhat dense and filling but delicious none the less. Everyone was very happy with their meal. The staff was wonderful- attentive and very friendly. Reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!!

My wife and I had just come from a meeting at 9 oclock. And we googled a diner close to me.. This diner was the 1st one that popped up and we thought we would take a chance.. Im so glad we did my wifes dinner was very delicious as well as my dinner also.. It is apparently a family owned diner and dad was finishing up for his son that evening we left about 10 oclock
Ok so don’t get me wrong, the food from here is DELICIOUS! I love the avocado toast and their smoothies are to die for. My son loves the pancakes. However I’m honestly disappointed today. I ordered my regular avocado toast this morning and decided to include a side of bacon and an açaí bowl along with a slice of strawberry shortcake. My food received and i was absolutely elated.... until i opened the bag. There was NO AÇAÍ BOWL (which is $9 before tax) and NO STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE ($6). Instead i received some sort of cheesecake which isn’t even similar. Nobody bothered to call me or anything. I’m a paying customer and i feel absolutely disrespected by this. Such a shame too because as i said the food is delicious.
You can tell the food is fresher and more care taken in making it with the new management. Will definitely be going back!

Its not everyday you find a diner where the food, atmosphere, servers, and ownership are perfect in every way. Happily, I can say I found all that at Parkway Diner. This establishment goes out of their way to make sure you are happy from the minute you walk in, to the moment you walk out. Everyone has a smile on their face and are convivial. The food itself was great. Best burger I have ever had, not just for a diner, but for a food establishment in general. Give this place a try. Highly recommended, and you will not be disappointed.

The owner is a nice and friendly guy, his name is Nick. A relatively unknown secret in Douglaston, only because most of the residents still make believe they have better things to do for breakfast, or just in life in general.
The food is fresh and delicious. I have many options for healthy eating at this diner.The staff at some point will ask you how is everything? I have never had any complaints. I can go on and list the many different items I tried and greatly enjoyed from their menu but this review would be way to long.The staff and owners are very nice and the place makes me feel at home. Nothing fancy here but it is a good, classic, comfortable atmosphere, low-key diner. Very standard breakfast menu and the food is made well. The service was smooth and coffee is strong. I got the challah French toast which was satisfying. If you live in this area and youre looking for a standard/basic breakfast joint to go to I would recommend this place.

The food here was good. The burger was a bit too big for the bun making the toppings slide out with every bite.
Top notch diner nestled in a mid block store right off of northern blvd. The vegetable linguini is a fave and all dishes are way above the usual. Dinner special was way too much food and I opted for homemade lentil soup. Worth the hunt for parking!

Ive eaten in and ordered out, both good experiences. Large menu with lots of variety to satisfy whatever you want breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Staff is nice, place is clean (hard to remember when it was a bar!). Parking is not the best and it is not your typical giant diner but its a nice atmosphere inside.
Best Burger Ever! Order the Backyard Burger with their awesome crisp sweet potatoe fries. Excellent service. Everyone was very nice. They came around often to make sure we had plenty of water and to refill our coffee cups. This just became my new favorite breakfast spot!

Food is ridiculously expensive. I ordered pancakes with bacon and a large orange juice... the bacon was overly greasy and they didn’t cook it the way I asked. The pancakes are dry and not that great all for the price of $21?? Very disappointed.

This place was very nice but Im very suspicious if this was a Bell diner affiliate. Many of the waiters Ive seen once before, if theres one thing I cant stand thats seeing someones face repeatedly. Thats why I dont see my mother anymore. Waking up to pancakes and a smiling face makes me sick. Overall pretty descent food.

I was told that this diner was founded a mere three-year ago. So,it is not the DINER,in Billy Joels 1977 song-storySCENES FROM AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT!! However,I enjoyed the lunch special of Linguine Marinara with Meat Balls. It was not too large,or not too small. Just Right!! For $10.95,which included a cup of soup and a soft-drinks or coffee,you could not go wrong. There are also several other similarly priced,lunch-specials.
Only been there about 20-25 times since theyve opened in the summer, so I have yet to try everything on the menu but let me say they do not disappoint. I live up on browvale and its so refreshing to have a warm staff to take your order. Anything your heart desires, they have and at a price that wont make you have to move out of Douglaston. I usually have the backyard burger with a short stack of chocolate chip pancakes, absolutely delicious and filling. Shout out to Nick and Alex for being great and very personable with us. Best of luck to the place.
Where to start. I guess by saying Parkway is different. Its not just another diner and youre not just another customer. From the minute I sat down for the first time I felt what makes this place unique.The service is friendly, accommodating, and always concerned with providing the best meal experience one can hope to have. The prices are fair, which is a breath of fresh air. Words cannot explain how welcoming it is to eat in a place where the servers and excellent management have such a friendly and humour filled rapport with the customers.But let gets to the food. And this is where I regret that there is not a 6th star to rate this eatery with. The expansive menu has all of the diner classics youve grown up with, alongside unique dishes that are exclusive to Parkway. All made the way you want it, cooked to perfection every time.But lets stop this review here. Let Parkway diner do the rest of the talking. Come in with some friends and family, and see firsthand what eating at Parkway diner is like.

Fantastic diner located right off Northern Blvd in Douglaston. I came here for breakfast and everything my friends and I ordered was delicious (I highly recommend the Nutella and Graham cracker waffles). Staff is friendly and helpful. Very satisfied.

Had Sunday brunch here recently with my family. AMAZING!! Server handed out the brunch specials on individual clipboards to each of us and I thought that was a nice touch. We decided to share a few of the newer brunch menu options and we were not disappointed! The Avocado toast topped with egg and feta was absolutely delicious. The açaí bowl was amazing. The eggs shakshuka was sooo flavorful and the Greek Loukaniko with eggs and Haloumi cheese was unbelievable. We were all amazed by how beautifully everything was plated too! This was not your average diner food—new management definitely knows what they are doing. Can’t wait to go back!

Came here for drinks and food with a friend on an Monday night. We sat at the bar and it was mostly empty, which was great for privacy and comfort but didnt really give a reason for the bartender to only check on us when we flagged him down. I ordered the two farm eggs over polenta and it was delicious. I would come here again.

Back last week in Douglaston where I grew up. I had passed by the Parkway Diner a few times before and figured wed give it a try. What a nice--very nice--surprise. The interior is cozy, the staff was welcoming, the service was excellent, and the food was superb.The first visit was for breakfast. My wife and I both had omelettes. I had the Parkway omelette which was fabulous--avocado, tomato, mushroom, and cheddar. My wife had the cheese omelette with egg whites and she loved hers--plus, her glutten free requirements were happily accommodated. Also the coffee was excellent, and frequently refilled.We liked our breakfast so much, we returned the very next day for lunch. We both had the grilled chicken sandwich with mozzarella--mine on ciabatta bread, hers glutten free w/o bread--with coleslaw. Superb!We will definitely return whenever we are back visiting family in Douglaston.
