This was a Great diner with a rather large menu to choose from. The service was slow but I assume that is from lack of employees due to the Corona epidemic. The food portions were larger then we expected and tasted much better then expected as well. We will eat here again hopefully they hire more staff by then.
We’ve been here a couple times while driving home on a road trip. Food was excellent both times. The salad that comes with their Mediterranean dishes is delicious and the gyro I had today was also awesome. We will be road trip regulars for sure!
My go-to diner! Very clean, nice staff and great food. Just a very consistent and reliable place. Yummy Eggs Benedict. Recently, I was feeling under the weather and decided to try one of their house made soups. I LOVE their matzo ball soup - one of the best soups I’ve had. So simple yet so flavorful and delicious.
Food was fine but it took forever to get it. Seated pretty fast but then 15 min for someone to take our order, another 15 to get coffee, and another 30 to get food. People at the table across from us gave up and left.
Slightly higher prices than what you would expect from a diner, but for good reason. The food comes out very quickly and is downright delicious. Service is great with attentive waiters. Love the atmosphere of this Stamford classic.
I only got fries and a slice of cake on the way back from a road trip, but everything about the experience was so lovely. The waiter was extremely kind and attentive, the food came very fast and was exceptional, and the atmosphere was great. The prices were very good, as well. I dont know if ill ever be back in the area, but if I am I will come back here:)
The staff was so friendly & courteous. Its very clean & thats including the bathrooms. I had the banana nut walnut pancakes which were out of this world. My friend had an omelet which was huge, & the home fries were spot on. Its the way I remember how diners were. O highly recommend this diner.

Wow. On our way home from Lancaster PA to Attleboro MA, googled restaurants and Stamford Diner came up. Literally right off highway. We were greeted by Asia so warmly. She sat us and we received an extensive menu with specials. My husband’s roast beef club was laden with lean roast beef. The mountain of French fries crisp and delicious. My gyro was also loaded with meat and fresh vegetables. I got a full salad on the side and a mountain of delicious French fries. We have a full meal of leftovers for later. Yum.
For a diner, the food is pretty upscale. The prices reflect it, but its well worth every penny. Has become a regular stop when in the area.
Good food and good drinks, but we had terrible service despite the staff members being extraordinarily friendly. Our server seemed to be purposefully avoiding us, preferring to spend his time attending to the surrounding tables multiple times before returning to our table. If we made eye contact with him, he would look down and away, so we had to be very vocal when we needed another drink and when we ordered food. It seemed like locals received great service, but it doesnt seem to be the best place to go if youre passing through or staying in the area for a brief time.

We ended up at this dinner on our way back from dropping someone off at JFK Airport. In a major traffic jam wr pulled into this dinner. Unfortunately, on this day the dinner had a VERY weird smell in the air that almost made us leave. The staff was pleasant and the food was okay at best. My girlfriend ended up with a major stomach issues after we left and she only had an omelet and toast. I dont see myself returning.
This is an old fallback restaurant / diner that we always choose when we dont want to think too much about where to go to relax and have a satisfying meal. The lighting is dim and pleasing; very unlike typical diner glare. The food lacks the grease quota standard to most diners and is well prepared with fresh produce. Service is prompt and friendly.
Great variety on the menu. Service can be slow at times. If you are hungry, this is the place for home cooked style. Breakfast is the best in my opinion.

Coming from an area with a lot of diners, this place takes the top spot in diners eaten at. The place is spotless, and it was decorated so well for the holiday season. The wait staff was great. Came here for an early morning breakfast and loved their fresh squeezed orange juice. Would definitely come here again if in the area.
Huge selection. I got a burger and the wife got the gyro. Big portions and cooked to perfection. This is definitely our go to diner when passing through.

Great transition from the former “City Limits Diner”. We have always enjoyed the wide array of menu options ranging from a muffin or bagel to omelettes to Lobster Eggs Benedict. Ridiculously expensive for a diner. $13 for a small thing of yogurt and fruit. $10 for 3 slices of french toast. It’s absolutely insane! Bland food as well. Waiter was arguing with us about things as well. Won’t be going back here.
My family and I were in town and met my father here for a late breakfast (always try and hit the diners when in Tri-State area ... REALLY miss the traditional NY/NJ diners down South). Portions were large, menu was diner-plentiful, seating was comfortable, and service was good. The food got mixed reactions. My omelette was a bit overcooked and my wifes order was not correct, the other items, however, were enjoyed by the kids and dad.Id also like to commend the staff as they bent over backwards to take care of my wifes error.In summary, a good diner experience .. If I could, I wouldve given it 3.7, stars but opted for a 4 star over 3 star due to the service. When in town, will come back again.
Even though they were super busy the wait wasn’t very long as the servers are extremely diligent. Food was great and the whole waitstaff was attentive to our needs. Highly recommended.

Food was delivered cold, no utensils and no condiments, Large order of 3 hamburger platters with fries, a omelets, chicken wings, tacos, a wrap and a cheesecake, that wasaid for but never received. Driver stated he dropped it of never received after 3 calls and being hung up on, So bad service all around

Stopped in Stamford for business and the Diner being next to LaQuinta I decided to have dinner there. I had the Whiskey GoGo burger and it was delightful! The beer was ok but not as fresh as it could have been but oh well, it was Beer. I would definitely come back! Thank you for a great dinner
Awesome experience! They were kind, courteous, and friendly! We got a burger and a panini — they were delicious. A decent portion, for sure. Our server was so amazing — very accommodating. The atmosphere was so 50/70 retro! I loved it for a cute date night. 10/10 would recommend and encourage others to try it out!

My family and I go to the Stamford Diner regularly, mostly for breakfast but occasionally for lunch, and the food is always excellent.
Newly renovated great diner. 10 page menu so Im sure you will find something to your liking. Had a special of the day of pork chop scarpariello that was delicious. Also tried the French dip which was also very good. Both meals were large and tasted great reheated the next day. Great service. Full bar and homemade desserts also available. Free parking in lot.
Great place! Coming from a southern kid who loves mayonnaise based Coleslaw I gotta say this stuff was pretty good. The rock star burger was great but I do have to say it was a little large for the bun which made it kind of hard to eat. But again that doesnt bother me when it still tastes good. The waiter was extremely nice and prompt. The food also came out fast which was nice. They had a live strings band playing which also was a nice treat. All in all a solid diner to eat at.
Food was great, love the coffee but I think it is slightly pricier than other diners I have been to.
Good looking place but very poor service. We waited 40 min just so the waiter can take our order. When we were finally ordering the waiter kept asking if that was it in a very rushy and rude manner. After the order was taken the food took another 35 min to come to us. We repeated our order to at least 3 people and we still had to wait on items to arrive to the table. By the time the waiter came to me my ice was already melted. Food was good. But the amout served of home fries was sad. As u can see in the second pic next to the bacon.
These guys never miss. I order chili from here and it comes out amazing. Coworkers also order a bunch of stuff from here and never complain! Keep it up guys
Im always driving in the Greenwich area with my family searching for the perfect diner experience, so we stopped at Stamford Diner for lunch.The place is big and nice, they offer a good service and choice.Food quality is good, and not pricey.Definitely one of the best diner in the area, well be back

So, the wait wasn’t terrible (it seemed pretty busy and we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated). HOWEVER, there was no kid’s menu, so my kids only had the choice of adult-sized portions, which they obviously couldn’t finish. The food was not particularly well-cooked. The staff was friendly, but seemed more concerned with getting people seated, not so much in those that were already seated.Overall, we didn’t really enjoy our food as much as we would’ve liked and we will definitely not return in the future. It kinda left a bad taste in our mouths... literally. I’ve never had a coffee taste WORSE after adding sugar to it.
Friendly staff. Extremely cold inside--too much A/C! The food was just mediocre. Dried out baked potato. Boring melt sandwich--the cheese wasnt even melted. Pretty basic experience.

Affordable, large portions, quickly prepared. Due to the large menus, certain items may not impress (such as the bison burger), but all the favorites are great. For take-out, make sure to request exactly what you need- butter on your toast, ketchup with your fries, cutlery, etc.

Nice place conveniently located across the street from the Subaru dealership and right off exit 6 on I-95. The coffee was good and my fruit and yogurt plate was yummy. Kind of wish theyd put a little more yogurt though. Our waiter was quick, friendly and accommodating. Overall, a comfortable and yummy breakfast experience.

Soooo I stayed at the very sketchy La Quinta inn next to this place and I wanted to get food of course and so I ordered a short stack with chocolate chips and bacon thinking you know what how could they ever mess up something simple.. clearly you can. The short stack was dry and barely had flavor and it was burnt at parts, the bacon was dry and burnt as well. Didn’t help that they weren’t coming by to check if I needed a refill or had anything wrong with what I had on my plate.. long story short just order out from somewhere else

Didnt actually get food from there. I asked to see a menu during my wait to be seated. While Ill full heartily admit I dont know what other diners in the area prices are like. Compared to what Im used to paying in Pennsylvania there prices seemed well frankly unreasonable. So I left without being seated.
I have been coming here for years. I have not ordered something and not enjoyed it. The customer service is great and the reviews speak for themselves. Late night or early morning the Stamford Diner is always on point. Thanks so much guys, love ya!

Let me start by saying I deduct a star because they serve only Pepsi. We have been here before and its always good. The menus freakin huge. If you cant find something to eat there is something wrong with your brain. The service was nice and quick and the server was good. The food was all good. We had a burger, chicken parm sammy and a quasadilla. More than enough to eat. We got the shakes and they tasted great. I would honestly hope for the price we would have gotten more. If we are ever around here again well go.

The corn beef wasnt cooked all the way, the eggs tasted like they were steamed in mop water and everything was greasy. It was pretty disappointing.

I think this place works well for breakfast, Ive had awesome pancakes, milkshakes and omelettes, but i went there just a few days ago for diner and the food was hmm not what i expected, my eggs were too greasy and the french fries were cold and old, seemed like they were fried in the morning... i might give it another try on another breakfast outie day

A throw back to the 1950s kind of diner. The food, both traditional and with a Mexican twist, is better than most diners. The desert counter is superb. You know its good when all the police officers, first responders, and Sunday church goers pack the place!
