The food here was amazing! I ordered the she-crab soup and fried pita sandwich. Both were absolutely excellent. The server was new but very attentive. The tea was okay; not quite sweet enough for southern style but thats just my personal preference. The fries were seasoned and really great! Its expensive, though, over $30 after tip. Quality is worth it, but this is a rare treat, not daily lunch.

5 stars aren’t enough for this place! Exceptional food and mimosas (Lavender and Raspberry were my faves)! Ash was a fantastic waitress! A coworker recommended this place and we are so thankful he did! Can’t wait to dine here again!

Brussels and bacon was a great appetizer and Cobia with butternut squash risotto. There are pieces of squash in the risotto that are tender and melt in your mouth if I could eat 5 bowls of it I would! The Cobia is firm and taste similar to a seabass but better by a long shot I would definitely recommend!

Yallll the food here is so good!! The desserts are basic so I won’t come back for that (and they high too) but the she-crab soup is a must have! It’s bussin bussin! Of course it isn’t cheap but it’s definitely worth it. So go ahead and order the big portion cus if not you’re gonna wish that you did. Also, the kids meals come with a lot of food.Rate: 10/10

1st time having lunch there, and everything was freah & awesome! Had the BLT and fries which were both amazing. My son had the burger with duck egg which was truly a 1/2 lbs and loved it. Will visit again when back in town!PS. Learned all their baked goods are made fresh everyday at thier facility down the road!

Wonderful local bakery and cafe. The brunch menu is eclectic and the baked goods are enticing. We settled on the Monte Cristo and Shrimp and Grits. The Monte was built on Challah bread with gruyere, ham, and raspberry jam.The Shrimp and Grits were well constructed with a creamy texture and flavored to perfection. There is shrimp in every bite and the sausage helps to add that southern flare. Opt for this. Also open for dinner and happy hours.

Brunch was amazing! Excellent service. We were driving back from Savannah on I-16 and took a slight detour to check out the town of Statesboro. Worth extra the 20-30 minutes round trip.

Great food, but definitely NOT the place for large groups. We had 12 and were sat at a table big enough for 8. The poor server was doing her best. She was very helpful and had a great attitude. The food here has always been fantastic. I considered giving them 4 stars, but they definitely deserve a 5 star review with a smaller party. If Id gone here with just my wife or another couple, Im sure I would have no complaints. Definitely recommend, but with smaller parties.

My spouse and I had Brunch last Saturday. It was his first time dining in for he had ordered take outs before. The food was so delicious, the waitress was the best and so efficient. The restaurant is wonderful, and the community is fortunate to have Carolina and Gene Joyner as the owners.

I had the french onion soup i like pepper but the soup had way too much almost to the point i was gonna send it back. My friends that took me there had a grilled chicken salad . They stated there was so much salt on the salad it was almost un eatable atmosphere was nice wait staff terific only reason it got 2 stars. food was zero i will not return

Sugar Magnolia, our small business gem. We go there quite often for brunch. Today we got dinner takeout for the first time, things fell short with some of the food. When i realized it i messaged the restaurant, within less than 30 minutes they made it completely right with an apology. More than what i expected. It is the right thing to try and get your problem resolved and when presented with an issue Sugar Magnolia jumped on the opportunity to correct it. I m definitely happy because i love my saturday brunches there with my husband. A+ ON CUSTOMER SERVICE and do try the rigatoni (dinner dish) it was delicious..

My wife and I enjoyed a belated Valentines day dinner date. She absolutely loved the salmon and I had an excellent made rigatoni. Fresh dessert and espresso while listening to live entertainment.

We greatly enjoyed our meal at this place! All of their tacos are simply AMAZING! We particularly enjoyed the ahi tuna taco and the shrimp taco! The steak taco was also amazing! Would definitely recommend, especially if you are looking for a unique tasty eat in the area!

I went to sugar Magnolias to order a cake for my son. Although the cake itself was beautiful from what I had ask them to decorate it to appear, it was not worth the price. I paid 55 dollars for a one layer cake that had an inch and a half worth of icing plus the cake itself did not live up to expectations. It tasted like box cake with strange added ingredients to in my opinion try to enhance that flavor. Wouldnt recommend but maybe there other options other than cake may be good. But personally my experience was bad but your may vary.

I was so excited to go today and boy Im so disappointed.. the food was served so cold (steak & eggs), the grilled cheese was dry and actually didnt have any cheese at all, they made us wait for the check for so long (about 25min) that we had to go upfront and request it in the register area. A couple seated next to us left because they couldnt order.. the waitress never took their order. I understand the place was packed but it looked understaffed.

They took great care of us for Sandys 50th birthday. Food was great. Service was wonderful.

Meal was delicious, as always. Baked goods...fabulous!

Usually this place is very good but today it was terrible. Service was slow, food was slow, food was not good. Waited 1.5 hours for food we were told was on its way. Very disappointed. Table next us also did not like their food today.

My husband and I just moved from Boston and Rhode Island to Statesboro, and this is similar to the places we go all the time up North.When we first moved here, we hit their Sunday brunch 😋. It was delicious! I got their blueberry french toast- done very well, and my husband (who eats like an 8 year old) ordered a Belgian waffle with strawberries. One of the best spots in town to go to hands down.Ive been in the industry for 20 years, (since I was 14 years old) and before we moved- was an assistant general manager where I was, and have seen this industry go through major growing pains. But theyve got a great concept! And hopefully start pulling Statesboro into the 20th century with some really solid restaurants.Only issue was with service, our waitress wasnt memorable... I couldnt even tell you her name. And I love great customer service! I love that client interaction, and there was none of that. I know that guests love feeling like they matter, and consistency. One reason we go back to places is excellent service!But cheers to a great restaurant overall!!!!!!

We had the Shepards Pie and Chicken and Rice carry out family dinners. It was during quarantine so I bought the big 8 servings portions for my family of four to eat then reheat for a couple of weeks. My husband never ever ever eats leftovers. We LOVED IT and never got tired of the flavor. Absolutely phenomenal tasting and kept well. Service was clean and friendly and fast. Thank you for saving us during this hard time!

The cooks skipped my order. I watched one of the staff tell them she was waiting for my order & the shocked look, with a smirk, on one of the cooks faces as she started my order. I ended up waiting 30 minutes for my food instead of the 15-20 I was told when placing my to-go order. I ordered the Chicken Caprese Panini with only pesto & a cup of fresh fruit as a side. There was no pesto on my Panini. The grapes were overly ripe & soggy. The melon was under ripe & hard. The strawberries were the only thing good with my order. For the price, it should have been way better.

Had the Cuban. Delicious.Ordering a Cuban from a random place always soouunds good, but is way too often an underwhelming sandwich.Sugar Magnolias Cuban is delicious and if you dont think so, thats a you problem.

Best staff and food in the boro hands down!

There must be several {radically different} cooks/chefs. Either the food is amazing or it is tasteless and lacking in amount of food you get. Even a sandwich - phenomenal or dry, almost no avocado or meat; never on the bread that is advertised... just cant patronize someplace with such uneven service and quality.

I have yet to figure out how I have not been to this amazing little place before. My wife and I were absolutely amazed by the food, the simple atmosphere and super friendly staff. We learned that everything is made in house, all the sauces, the breads and desserts. We started with the She crab soup that had way more crab in it then you will find at most restaurants. The Jalapeño pepper pops were the kind that you always want and never seem to find. The peppers were large, filled with delicious cheese and a slab of bacon on top. I tried the Ahi tuna Florentine and was shocked at how well the flavors all worked together, the kimchi was flavorful but not overpowering, the tuna was prepared perfectly, and the sautéed spinach was the best spinach I have ever had in my life. My wife had the Caesar salad with all fresh lettuce and vegetables which she thoroughly enjoyed. For her entrée my wife selected the Fettuccine alfredo and she said that the sauce was very creamy and had great flavor. My selection was the Mediterranean pizza, all the vegetables were fresh and the chicken seasoned perfectly. At this point it was a very tough decision at which dessert to try...the plain cheesecake was the winner and we are so glad it was. Our waitress said that she could put caramel on top which she did and added a little kick with a slight sprinkle of salt on top. That cheesecake was the best I have ever had, it wasnt thick and it was super soft, it was creamy and had the best flavor.If you are in the area you have to stop by Sugar Magnolia, they have outside seating with plenty of fans blowing down on you and a full bar. The staff is super friendly plus they know the menu to offer good advise and there really is something for everyone. We will definitely be back!

An Absolutely magnificent place that goes above and beyond to make their food special and unique! There is no second guessing the owners and employees truly enjoy what they do and how they serve it. You can definitely tell they take great pride in there work. Their prices are low to the point it worries me because I want them to have a prosperous business and stay around for a long time! For what they are doing in a major city the cost would be double!

Place used to be really great. Since they renovated it looks really nice inside but service is extremely slow. We waited 20 minutes just to get our drinks. And this has happened more than once. Our server seemed to be working the to-go area also, which made service feel this way. Hopefully will be improved in the future

Absolutely blown away. I never would’ve believed there would be such an amazing restaurant tucked away in downtown Statesboro. The location is perfect and the overall aesthetic feels like you’re in a bigger city such as Savannah. The food is amazing, the prices are very reasonable, and everything that came out of the kitchen looked top notch. The staff was more than attentive and everything arrived quickly. I sat at the bar and the manager, Caroline, fresh squeezed the lemons for my Tom Collins directly in front of me. The chef Jordan personally came to check on the food and chatted with me briefly about my experience. My waitress had a very bubbly personality and took fabulous care of me. Five stars aren’t enough for how amazing my first experience was and I can not recommend this restaurant enough!

I’m glad Sugar Magnolia is back up and running. The renovations and new menu have a lot of potential; however, the last two times I’ve been to the restaurant from Sunday brunch have been disappointing. Although the food was fine, the customer service was well below average. I can’t tell you the names of either server, because they didn’t introduce themselves. In particular, our most recent visit was a bust. I arrived after my friends had sat down. They already had their drinks, but it took the server 20 minutes to come back to the table and get my drink order. By that time, we already ready to order food. There were four of us, and he didn’t write down any of our orders. That’s not impressive in the slightest. That’s anxiety evoking. Please, just write down the order. After waiting for a hour, we finally got our food. Except I didn’t get my order. I reminded the server of my order, and they had it out within 10 minutes. You could tell they just threw it together. It just wasn’t the quality you would expect from a menu like that. I would like to note that my meal was compensated. The gesture was nice, so thank you. Overall, the ambiance is good. The food is tasty, but the customer service needs some modifying. It would have been nice to see a manager walking around and greeting guests. I intended this review to serve as a constructive critique for the management and staff at Sugar Magnolia.

We had a great time at Sugar Magnolia. Katie, our server was very attentive and did a good job. There was a guitar player who played in the background. Very enjoyable.

Coffee is really good, the ambiance is inviting and the baked goods are yummy. And then there is the shrimp and grits...oh yum! And we dont like grits, or at least we didnt. Go try it out and get Phoebe as your waitress!

This was my second time having lunch here. I got the black bean burger. The taste was very good, but the bean patty was crumbly and it was difficult to eat with your hands like burger. Essentially, the whole outside of the patty fell off and I had to eat it with a fork. I do like the option of getting fruit salad on the side instead of chips; it was delicious.

Personally, I thought the food was great. However, the service is below average. After working in the restaurant business for a couple years, I understand how being a server can be hard at times but customers shouldn’t have to wait 40 minutes to get their servers attention or go up to the to go stand and grab their server. I would love to come back for the food but customer service needs to be improved.

Weve been here twice now, once for brunch and again for lunch. Both times we ordered three to four different dishes at our table and everything was incredible. The service was great and the dessert was good as well. I havent tried the coffee, but someone who was with me did, and she loved it. The food is fresh and different than what you would find at most places in Statesboro. For what you get and how good it is, the prices are quite reasonable for the food. I do think the bakery case items are a bit expensive, but theyre very good. Well definitely be back.

This is a wonderful place. The food is delicious, made from scratch. You can tell everything is made with love and care. The people are authentic and friendly. What more could you ask for. Every time I come here from Atlanta, I will be Going back.

The food is amazing! My husband is a native new Yorker and says this is the best pizza in the boro yet! The only problem I had was that I tried to call in my order because I had multiple food stops to make but something was wrong with their phone- it was just messed up and just wouldnt connect. I tried like 10 times to call and it wasnt MY phone. Doesnt sound like a big deal but I try to synchronize all my food ordering, but unfortunately, because of the phone issue, I had to actually go there and order inside, which took 20 minutes -all while the food I had just picked up sat in the car getting COLD AND SOGGY! So, yeah, I was a little upset about that. But the food is amazing- favorite pastries are the sticky buns and ham and cheese croissants- and of course awesome 🍕!

Their food is amazing. Salad dressing was the best I’ve ever had and I ordered my daughter a PB&J and even I had to have a bite. Unbelievably good!

I wanted this place to be my go to since Statesboro is limited on good food selections. I tried this place twice and both times I left with feeling a little disappointed because the food is bland, the avocado my husband requested was rubber, and the chicken sausage is just not good. Need to rethink that one. The coffee is good. I really enjoy the olive bread, and customer service is great. My photo I posted is what I ordered the second time, the peasant plate. It was decent. Not a fan of the raspberry jelly, too tart.

Service is pitiful. I can get these same menu items at other places in statesboro (chicken salad sandwich. BLT. Bowl of soup. Ect..). And probably cheaper everywhere else. But wanted to come here to support a local business. The place is very nice and In a great location but it shouldn’t take 1hr to have a cold sandwich brought to your table. Come on! The food was ok but not spectacular. The manager was apologetic and from what I saw that is his job most of the time - Apologizing to customers. Change your staff or it will be costly

Drinks were ok, as was the service. Waited over 45 min for tacos that were on the way and ready 3x. Definitely would not reccomend their overpriced subpar establishment.
