David West was an absolute pleasure to work with. He explained every detail of our used truck before we made the 9 hour drive from MO to MI. The truck was fully detailed inside and out when we arrived. Right before we left, we realized the AC was not working. Although it was of no fault on either end, Dave diagnosed the vehicle, sent us home with a new AC compressor, and set up service to have it fixed in MO at no additional charge. I would recommend Dave and his team at Serra Whelan Chevrolet to anyone. Worth the drive!

Bernard was SO helpful. We went on a test drive pretty late in the day and he did not act irritated with us at all (I probably would have been). When we got back from the test drive he was not pushy. He let us look it over by ourselves and waited for us to come back in the building to discuss it. Saturday, it took us a bit longer than expected to deal with the paperwork, and once again, it pushed us to show up right before closing. He still did not show frustration. He was very professional and I am happy with my experience.

Service has gone down quite a bit since Serra took over. The wait times are horrid, service personnel are rude. Just went in today as I normally do for an oil change and they told me it was 3 hour wait time. I decided to get it done because I had set the day. 4 hours later I walk up to the desk and the service desk guy tells me he’s working on it now. Working on it now??? I bought 2 of my cars here and always get them serviced here. Looks like that will be changing now. Only reason I have 2 stars is out of respect for old Buff Whelan.

Usually I have a lot of great things to share about my experience at Buff Whelan but this time is different. I pulled up for a oil change. I waited in the car for 8-10 minutes before anyone greeted me and or came to get my car info and reason for visit. It was not a lot of cars in the driveway at the time. Only 2ppl standing at the desks speaking with representatives.I informed the staff that I wanted an oil change. Like usual, they gave an hour and a half as the wait time. It never takes that long though that time frame is usually given. I asked for a rental and was told they have none 👎🏽 I asked for a shuttle ride👎🏽 they are not around and would not be able to pick me back up.I waited for over the time frame given only to get my car back with oil stains on high touch areas👎🏽The door handle, steering wheel, gear shift, mirror, and middle arm rest area.Though the representative who assisted me was friendly and knowledgeable; it is not worth the long wait and no accommodations. All of the small little greats that put Buff Whelan steps above the rest had been taken away. I traveled over 30 minutes to bring my car for service at Whelan because of its exceptional service and because it was the place I bought my vehicle.This experience was nothing like what I expected of Whelan. After this experience, I am considering using the quick lube closer to home for my oil change service; they are slightly cheaper, way faster in completing oil change, and they provide a light car detail with service.

I went in honestly expecting not to get approved and not being able to trade in my car since there are a co-owner. I met with John T. and he was great! Valued my trade in higher then competitors, made the process seamless and got me approved. He found me a vehicle I am comfortable in and am super happy with (even though I had no idea what I wanted when I went in)!! Thank you to the whole team that made this possible! I am so grateful as a GM employee to drive a GM vehicle again!!!

Theresa Baker was absolutely amazing!!! The last 3 vehicles that I have leased have all been through Serra Whelan formerly Buff Whelan. I have always had a great leasing experience as well as service experience. This time was a little different, although my original sales person is no longer there Theresa stepped in and did everything she could to make this car leasing experience worry and hassle free. She truly went above and beyond. Sometimes buying a new car you can feel hassled or feel like just another sale for some sales associates and I get it. However she really made me feel comfortable and made it feel like she truly cared about me as a customer. (If that makes sense) My story of why I was in there to lease another vehicle before mine was due is to long to tel but the fact that she took the time out of her day a few days after I drove off in my new car to see how everything was going and if I was happy with my new car meant everything to me. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone! She was an absolute ALLSTAR!!!

Service has started to slip with quality.Replaced all 4 tires (they needed my car 3 to 5 business days). After this was complete, their were leaks in the stems. After SW wasn’t able to properly handle fixing all 4 tires I had Belle Tire fix the issue (should have saved the time and headache and gone their in the first place).Also, really unsure of why they have you make appointments if they are going to have your car for 2 to 5 business days and are unable to give you a rental due to the shortage everyone is facing.Since they are the closest dealer to me, I’m opting to use a more local mechanic or purchasing a Ford or Ram all together.

I leased a new Colorado Crew Cab on New Years Eve, 2020. I was so certain impressed with Adam S, my salesman, and with the Finance Manager. Both were so to the point and friendly. A few weeks ago, I came in for my initial oil change and tire rotation. Efficient, friendly and very professional.On both occasions, I was told to expect a survey from GM. Neither visit resulted in contact. All tens from me.

The sales team here is unprofessional, rude, uppity, and abrasive, and they acted as if my money was not good enough compared to other rich folks that come to this place. Dont come here unless youre dressed in a Givenchy suit or have a Rolex on your wrist. Didnt matter that I had 18K to drop on a car THAT SAME DAY, nope, still got treated like a second-class citizen. What a joke this place is. Not a single please or thank you out of the mouth of my salesman if I could even call him that, dude was a MAN-SPLAINER if I ever saw one. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Bad serviceI have chevy trax 2016 with 67600 miles I have a problem in alarm its stay beeping all the time.. the warranty should be still active since the 5 years warranty didnt finished yet but the counter staff told me that no warranty on it since its rebuilt title and asked 96$ only for checking whats the problem in addition to the cost of the service!

Took my vehicle in for an estimate after a google search. someone hit my bumper and damaged it. Tom ( estimator) in the body shop was very nice, professional and helpful. Friendly environment and good staff. They had the parts and took my vehicle in right away for repair. They said it may take until Thursday and my car was ready Wednesday. I had a difficult time locating the exact vehicle I wanted, was getting told by other dealers in my area and beyond theyd try to find exactly what I was wanting. After waiting for over a week with no new updates, I ended up founding one myself at Serra Whelan. I called the dealership as soon as they opened the next business day and by the end of that day I was signing the paperwork to start my lease of a brand new Trailblazer! Thanks to Darrin Uhlig it ended up being one of the quickest and easiest deals Ive done, which made it worth the 2 hour drive from Lansing as I knew I was getting what I wanted and it was at a reasonable price. Brian G. in the service department at Serra Chevy gave absolutely outstanding customer service. I had very bad luck with my Silverado Z71 2018 having multiple issues that it should not be having only being 2 years old. Through my frustration, Brian was extremely professional, helpful and kind. He went out of the way to help in anyway he could for me. I’ve been a customer there for 6 years and this entire dealership overall is always very professional. My salesman has been Jim N. for the last 6 years and he is also absolutely fantastic! Even though I had bad luck with a vehicle, I do not have a bad word to say about this dealership. Serra Whelan Chevrolet and Mike Omelianoff are AWESOME!!! I have been looking for a new Chevrolet trail boss custom for over a year. Mike reached out to me after an Internet inquiry. Mike was more than capable of answering all my questions and any concerns about this new truck. Mike also informed me that Chevrolet had added the safety confidence package to this truck. This new package gave me buttons on the right side of my steering wheel along with volume on the back. It also gave me a great looking cluster information center. Hands-down this has been the best dealership and salesman I have ever worked with in 25 years of purchasing vehicles. I would highly recommend this dealership and Mike Omelianoff to anybody looking for a new Chevrolet.

!!!TERRIBLE!!! Went in for clunking noise on my steering wheel on my 2011 Malibu. After diagnosing my vehicle they told me it is the intermediate shaft that needs to be replaced. Replaced the shaft charged me $342 parts and labor. As soon as I sat inside i tested the steering wheel clunking was still present. Gave them the vehicle back: NOW THEY WANTED ANOTHER $900 TO REPLACE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN. If they told me this in first place i would have think twice if i want to proceed with the repair there. The replaced a part that was not defective in first place: Service manager kept trying to convince me that the intermediate shaft was seized (BS). There was nothing wrong with that part; why is the defect still present. Tried to dispute the charges with them, i couldnt. they won my $342, will never see me back, and i hope this review helps a lot of you out there before servicing at this place!!!

I bought a used 2012 chevy equinox on may 7th and i was told as of a month ago iNeed a new motor cause my vehicle is rapidly burning oil, had to get a tune up, so i spent $5,000 cash for the car but have to put over $5,000 into the car and the factory warranty I purchased from them was a waste of money it covers nothing that have to do with the car oh I forgot I also just replaced the winshield wiper motor which died on me in the middle of the recent storm we had so basically they sell raggedy cars and the amount you pay for the vehicle you will wind up putting between 5,000 to $10,0000 of work so i dont trust going to them for anything used

Bryan Nicholas was my amazing Sales Professional.I had been trying to locate and purchase a Chevy Blazer for 2 months through 3 other dealerships. Constant problems, no callback, excuses...so I gave up. I new exactly the Chevy I wanted, cash waiting, but just needed someone to follow through.One call to Bryan - in the matter of minutes - the Chevy was on hold so I could see it before someone else buys it and sent an email within all the information we needed to purchase it. All within 10 minutes, thats unheard of. He had it ready to drive and as soon as we arrived. By the next the morning, he had all the paperwork, insurance, new plate, everything ready to sign. Usually, we sit at a dealership for an hour or so to do this, painful. Bryan was going faster then us. We tried to keep up with him getting him the information he needed. Amazingly happy how proficient Bryan was to get this done. My family is GM employee for over 75 years when my Dad worked for Fisher Body on Van Dyke. He was also responsible for building and contracting the Flint Plant. I know he would have been impressed too. See you in 2-3 years to get my next GM proud vehicle. I really hope you are still there Bryan...I will be looking for you. :) Love my Chevy Blazer too!

Hello all,I have rated Buff Whelan 5 stars for 25 years. They were #1 for a reason. I sent my friend to get his H2 service without realizing that Buff sold, I told him that Buff operates with integrity. The new regime charged him and told him to get his remote starter disconnected. Didn’t fix the occasional no start condition. Brought it back and charged him for a $500 module. Didn’t fix. Went back and they replaced starter but didn’t refund the module. In addition the weekly add that Buff always homered has been removed. This is a different dealership. I will be looking for the next Buff Whelan. Maybe Golling

If there was an option for zero stars I would have chosen that...I have been a long term customer at Buff Whelan now Serra Whelan for many years, I have leased 4 cars at this dealership alone in the last 5 years. I have never experienced such poor customer service from the service dept like I have these past couple months. I was 9 months into my leased 2020 Traverse when the car started to have electrical problems resulting in me getting locked out of my car intermittently. The first time I did take it to Moran Chevrolet because they were close to my house, they literally had my car for 31 days because of a part delay due to Covid. Moran Chev changed an eroded wire harness in the door. They at least gave me a rental car that was equivalent to my car. However it did not fix the problem and I brought it back to where I purchased it from Serra Whelan. In total I had brought my car back and forth 5 times for the exact same problem! I had to make 2 car payments and only had my car for appr 10 days out of those 2 1/2 months. They did give me a rental car it was a basic Traverse all those times however I was still paying for a fully loaded Traverse and now it was going on 3 months of not having it...The amount of frustration I had I can not even put into words it was always something from Serra Whelan we changed the harness again, we changed the lock mechanism, changed the module, it didn’t act up this time etc...I would pick it up yet again and it would act up every time that was always fun working a long nursing shift and can’t even get into your brand new car. They truly did not know how to fix it! I had a senior advisor from GM headquarters involved which was pointless mind you I did not receive ONE call from any manger that was well aware of my problem. Jamie in service was ok but hearing I’m sorry every time was getting old and was not enough at this point. I was there every other week for months. They never offered waiving any payments or just give me a rental car equivalent to mine, it could of been that simple then take how long you need to fix it right! The salesman Mike whom I personally leased 2 cars with in less than a year had the audacity to tell me I would lose the $1800 I put down on my lease and I would have to pay another $1800 down to get into another Traverse like mine as well as $1800 for being short of the value of the car if they bought the Traverse back, so a total of $3600 rolled over into a new lease and a loss of the down payment from the previous lease that I only had for 9 moths...He did say maybe you can get GM to pay, yeah because that’s so easy to do right? Did I mention the new Traverse he was quoting was going to cost me more in monthly payments as well and I would need another GM employee discount...At what point of bringing a lemon of car back and forth 5 times, when a good paying customer was only 9 months into the lease that you would make things right! Why should I lose money, so his next best idea was to give the service dept one more chance. I was frustrated and felt like I had no rights as a customer, so I let them take it yet again. The car sat there for one full week never worked on and was acting up with Jamie witnessing it... Supposedly they called in a more qualified technician that’s great but why wait a week number one better yet why didn’t this so called person that never came get called oh I don’t know maybe the 3rd time bringing the car back to you?!? At this point I was done playing games, I picked the car up and another dealership helped me get out of that lease. Jim Causley stepped up and did right for a long term GM customer, they got me into a beautiful brand new Acadia Denali! The sad part is the amount of frustration I had with my experience with Serra Whelan I took that loss of $1800 gladly to not have to deal with them EVER again, in the end it’s there loss I will be spreading the word to anyone that will listen to my story. They are great when you are buying something however when something goes wrong don’t plan on getting the customer service you deserve!

These guys are the real deal. There is a reason theyre one of the best Chevrolet Dealerships in the nation. Just really honest and helpful employees there. Its hard to find a car salesperson you can trust but somehow this dealership has all of them. I cringe at the thought of having to go somewhere else.

I can’t say enough good things about the service department here! They are professional, knowledgeable, caring, informative—the list of positive adjectives goes on and on. I walked in swearing I would never buy another Chevy again. I walked swearing I will never take my Chevy to be serviced anywhere else. I used to love Buff Whelan but their 2020 service is horrific. My car appeared clean initially. Taking a closer look before heading out for a road trip I found animal hair and the previous owners check book under the backseat mat which tells me it wasnt fully detailed. I tried to call about it but I didnt get a call back.I scheduled an oil change which they cancelled on me last minute.Editing to 3 star from 1. Because of this review I received a call from the sales & service managers. Jack & Don were very nice, they wanted to rectify the situation. They were apologetic and helpful, however, it doesnt change the initial experience.

This in fact is a true Google review on my experience at this dealership. This is the only dealership I have honestly ever been to that is extremely friendly fully staffed and because they’re fully staffed each service advisor can take all the time they need to service each client to 100% satisfactory. My service advisor was Bryan and I could not be more happy with his service his friendliness and his willing to listen to everything that I’ve asked them to do. We can not say enough good things about him. We have worked with a lot of salesman throughout the years and Adam is topnotch! Hes by far the best! I went to the dealership with a letter from GM stating a recall. The service tech never indicated that it would not apply due to the fact the mileage was over the total that would cover the recall notice. He took the paper and went on with the paperwork. Never did he indicate it would not be covered. With a 10 yr old vehicle I am not interested in doing any major repairs and that is all they wanted to discuss. They then charged me $85 for nothing. I would not have brought the car in if I had not received the letter in the mail. They lost a long time customer. I wont be going back to them again.

I finalize my new lease today with Darrin U. He was wonderful through the whole process! I working in a hospital setting and have a 1 year old at home so talking on the phone is a challenge for me. We communicated through the online texting and email for a few weeks as we worked out the details of the lease! He was very patient with me as I took a little longer to get him all my information. When I got to the dealership today he had everything ready to go for me and all I had to do was sign the papers! He walked me through my new car very thoroughly and made sure multiple times that I got everything I wanted! All in all Darrin is a wonderful sales man and when the time comes for a new lease he will for sure be the one I call and who I will recommend to family and friends! Buff Whelan never disappoints!!!

My family had a great experience with Perry K. in the Certified Pre-Owned department. He was an awesome salesman. Throughout the whole experience, from taking the car for a test drive to talking about different financing options, he was never that salesman that pressured you to purchase the vehicle. He was very kind and very knowledgeable about the entire process.Also, my sister and I met with Perry about the vehicle before the rest of my family. As a 19 and 21 year old, Perry never treated us like we were young kids that didnt know anything about the car purchasing experience, he treated us like any other potential customer.Buff Whelan may not always have the best price around in Metro Detroit, but they had the vehicle I was looking for and the fantastic customer service makes up for any price difference.

All & All service was good People very niceBut I had a unpleasant circumstance.(Which your Service Manager did address with me Thanks) What had happened is my Bug Guard was broken after there service & Car Wash. I know that it was not broken before going there. I keep my Vehicle very clean even under the hood.I understand that your not responsible for aftermarket goods. I Get it. (Note your service manager offered me a free oil change Thanks)My concern is that when I spoke with your service manager he had mentioned that the Mechanic had mentioned that he or she had noticed that the bug guard was damaged.But this was never brought to my attention. And I never looked at it before leaving there. When I noticed it was when I stopped at a store and came out of the store it was just dangling there.I just wish that this was brought to my attention before I left your premises.I never take my truck through car wash during summer/Warm weather and it has not seen a car wash since last winter.

I made an appointment online to have my windshield wipers fixed. when i arrived i was asked if i had been told that my car would not be looked at for 2-3 days and there are no loaners. i had been told about the loaner part but not the 3 day wait before someone even looked at it. Why would they make appointments at all. The wiper problem is a recall issue and they know it is a 30 minute repair. The advisor told me that if he were in my situation, he couldnt leave his car for 3 days either so why do they expect me to! MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TIME THAT IS MORE REALISTIC!

Went in for tech problem. They didnt fix it, but made it worst. Had to go a few times and when I tried initially to explain they didnt want to listen. All could have been probably resolved without being charged as much as they did. They said it was going to cost $85 they ended up charging me $180.

After calling around to multiple dealers and getting a wide range of answers and prices, we called Buff Whelan because we were in the area and figured it was worth one more call. I spoke with Michelle David briefly about what we wanted and she encouraged us to just stop in for 30 minutes.What a great experience it was! Not only was she empowered to calculate her own deal, there was no back and forth to the manager to get approvals. We actually qualified for all available incentives, which never happens. Initially, she wasn’t the most competitive and knew something didn’t add up. So she had me call to confirm the details of the lowest competitor. This quickly exposed the math didn’t add up and the prices we received were not as previously promised. Suddenly Michelle was the lowest price we had. Not to be outdone, Michelle informed us about an additional $700 Costco incentive that no other dealer had mentioned. It literally took 2 minutes for her to validate and submit our info and we got it.We ended up taking home a new Equinox and will most certainly be visit Michelle for any other Chevy vehicle needs we have in the future. I would highly recommend her as well. She’s very transparent, no B.S. and knows how to get a deal done.Thanks Michelle!
