This store is amazing. Shanthi is wonderful to work with, has great customer service, and really looks out for her customers. The store itself is very organized, clean, and a pleasure to shop in. There are plenty of mirrors to see yourself from all angles. Most importantly, the clothes themselves are beautiful! She has a wide selection and says she picks all the items out by hand and never buys anything she wouldnt wear and it shows. The quality of these clothes far exceeds any of the other stores we visited in the Metro Detroit area, and the prices are reasonable as well. Overall we were very impressed and would recommend this to anyone looking to dress up for any Indian occasion. I wouldnt waste your time going anywhere else. Then 3 weeks away from my wedding date I found variety of silks indian clothing and accessories and they saved my wedding date. We strongly discourage people from going to this store. The lady was very cordial and nice before our purchase. We had our son try out an outfit at the store. The button in it was sewn in poorly. She suggested we take an identical outfit same make and same size. When my son tried to wear it at his engagement it was too small. Even though he tried a similar one in the store and it fit!When we took it back she not only did not accept return but refused to even offer a percentage discount or get it sized or anything. We found her to be rude and unfriendly.Again do not go to this store

My girlfriend and I had a great time shopping for Indian clothing for an Indian wedding that one of my friends is having. From the start we received excellent customer service with Shanti explaining to us what type of clothes we should buy, measuring us to make sure everything fits, and never making us feel any pressure to buy anything. I bought a men’s kurta pajama and my girlfriend bought a women’s shalwar kameez. Both were sold to us at a reasonable price and we found out that all of the items in the store are from India which is a plus! If you’re looking for an Indian clothing store in Michigan then this is the place to check out! I’ll be adding pictures after the wedding :)

WOW! I cannot say enough good things about Shanthi and Variety Silks! Her store is so clean and organized and she was so warm and welcoming! Being only 1/2 Indian I felt a little intimidated about being judge about wanting Indian Tradition in my wedding and really researched before choosing a store. Not having any Indian relatives around to help me I felt lost. Her reviews were great so we decided to walk in and look. I felt right at home! She was so sweet and polite and helped me every step of the way. She even came on the day of my wedding to help the girls dress as they never worn a Sari before and I havent put one on since I was a kid and had my grandmothers help. She truly had a HUGE part in making my wedding so perfect! I cannot thank her enough! And highly recommend Variety Silks!

Had an incredible experience working with Shanti of variety Silks. I attended my first Indian wedding this weekend. She guided me of what to wear for each event. I purchased a sari for the ceremony and a lehenga for the reception. I also got all of my jewelry from the shop - bengals, necklace, tika, jhumkas. From the first time I went to the shop, Shanti was very courteous to me. She offered to take my items to her tailor to be fitted based on my measurements. She called me when the items came in (quickly!) and I went to the store to try everything on. She even came to the hotel the morning of the wedding to help me tie the sari. I felt very beautiful the whole evening and got several compliments from other wedding guests. I highly recommend using Variety Silks for a seamless experience! She made me feel very welcome!

Just yesterday my husband and I enjoyed our first shopping trip to buy appropriate Indian clothing to wear to my friends Hindu wedding. The shop keep was so pleasant and easy to talk to. She was very skilled at picking out items for me to try on and was a very good salesman overall. She expertly balanced helping me with making sure all her incoming customers were also well taken care of. We spent over an hour there and she made sure I didnt leave confused or empty handed. She even sold me bangles to match my new outfit! The amount of colors, variety of current fashion trends, styles and sizes for men, women and children were astonishing. I was invited to my first Sangeet/ Indian wedding and having no idea what I was doing, came to this shop and had the most wonderful and helpful experience. The owner took her time with me, explaining traditions and what was appropriate to wear to each event. Excellent customer service! I went there to buy my Henna dress and told the owner what I am looking for, she found me exactly what I wish for even though it was something not any store would have. It looked absolutely breathtaking and negotiated price. She matched me accessories. They have a huge selection and for all ages. Even if she doesnt have ur size, she sent the top to Indian to make me one exactly like it but a bigger size. On the day of my party she also helped me wear it. Above and beyond satisfied. After the party I always kept in touch because this kind of vendor becomes close like family not just a vendor for ur party.Best of luck!

My only drawbacks were 1.) that I need to wait for darn near winter to wear it. I was baking in it when I had to try it on. I dont where Im wearing it come like October, but Im WEARING it! and 2.) the choice of shoe that goes with the suit hurt my feet, but Mrs. Verrappan and my daughters were like, the price of beauty! I google search Indian clothing near Warren and variety silks popped out in the map. I went to see some selection and this lady name Shanti walked me through and showed me different garment for women. I am from another culture and I have no idea what to expect; I am buying Indian clothes because last time one of my friend invited me on her sons graduation party and every women who attended that party were wearing sarees. I felt out of place but I enjoyed the gathering.So, here I am invited again for another Bangladesh gathering/party, and I asked if women are going to wear sarees. My friend say yep.
