Caught a GREAT deal on 4 kumho tires.83 bucks each no install fees.Other competitors were 118 not including install. They also priced matched a wheel alignmentDefinitely check them out for sales.A wee bit long on the wait time but worth it
Came in to get quotes on 2 tires not even get them warranty on them, we had previously bought them there. We werent acknowledged for about 5 min by the only guy in desk, girl walks in from helping another person another 5 minutes pass by nothing was said to us until she finished up. She ends up kinda helping us, we asked about the labor cost, guy interrupts the conversation with his rude remarks about our labor question. We walked out if thats the type of service we are getting for simply asking about labor and services we called customer service to let them know how service is as well. We had almost the same type of rudeness. Store manager calls us back gave us the same type of rudeness simply wont be back there.
Liars. I will never go there anymore. Rip off. They said my car won’t take standard oil change and charged me for an expensive one and changed filters. Later on they were found to be cheap filters but had charged me for high quality ones.
Made an appointment online because my ac decided to stop working today. They called a bit later and said that the guy who works on ac will only be there until 5 and asked if I can come earlier. I asked if 4 would be good and they said yes. Rearranged my day and arrived shortly before 4. The guy at the front tells me that they only have one guy that can work on ac and he’s gone already. The guy was nice enough but they didn’t bother to call and cancel my appointment. Super irritating because I could have made other arrangements, but after reading some of these other reviews it actually looks like I dodged a bullet. Thanks I guess?
Since they closed the retail part of the store. Its a different place, I got some tires installed on my Acura TSX and they left some lug nuts loose on the front wheels. The car was making noises after the tire change and they told me to take it to Acura as they couldnt find a problem. I had to replace the hubs for $600. And they stripped 3 studs on the back wheels. That cost $237 in parts. The technicians might have smelled of alcohol also. Pep boys assumed no responsibility for any this. Avoid this place at all costs.
Mark and Tony always take care of our vehicles in a timely and professional way!
Ordered wrong parts. Never checked vehicle when appointment was made. No confidence that simple head light replacement would be handled correctly at this Pep Boys.
I went to try to get an oil change and they were booked all day, with 1 person working
I like this place.Ive been bringing my car for oil change and Ive never had an issue !Tony is the best !Always polite, always taking good care of me .
Zero stars! They ripped me off and didnt fix my car. They overcharged me for everything and kept giving excuses for not getting things done. Hell, they even had the audacity to mistreat me, the paying customer, every time I questioned their knowledge and the supposed fixes they said were needed. Complete and total discrimination because Im a person of color, a woman and a Latina. They ripped me off by charging me $2,000+ for nothing. My cars condition is the same or worse now than it was before I brought it here. I DO NOT recommend this establishment to anyone!
The salesperson was very friendly.
5 stars for the brakes done on my car, but as i left Pep-Boys i noticed my truck was weak on acceleration, so i drove slowly home, (2.5 miles away) the next day i connect the truck to my computer and a faulty map air sensor error, so i assumed with a little cleaner i can take care if it, as i proceeded to loosen up the air intake hose past the air box that houses the air filter, i notice a blue rag i keep in the engine compartment to check my oil, this rag was placed not by accident but on purpose to block the air going into the engine! Now they probably expect me to return and cause my concern so they can charge me an outrageous price! They would know exactly what the problem is!!
Highly recommended here.Totally different than your expectation from the regular Pep Boys because Pep Boys are more likely economical shop. However I had a great experience here just like a high-end brand dealership. Service manager Tony and mechanic Matt were my guys for tire replacement, brake pads and rotors installation and alignment.Very professional, kind, honest especially in this virus chaos situation, they covered up all your interior, never came close to you, wore mask and gloves. Sanitizing everything before and after.I will definitely come back to this place in the future. Not sure why this place’s google review is lower than 4.0.
Do not bring your car here to get tires installed. Spend the extra 20, 30, or even 40 bucks and take your car to a trustworthy shop. I made the mistake of choosing this place to get 4 tires installed and balanced on my Acura TL. I dropped the car off with all of the wheels torqued to spec and lug nuts properly installed. They broke one of my studs and tried to charge me $150 to replace it, claiming that it was my fault that they broke it. They also over torqued my wheels (50 ft-lbs over the Acura spec), causing my wheel locks to crack when I went to retorque all of the other lugs. Very disappointed in my experience. Will not be coming back and would not recommend for anyone to come here. Save your time and money and go to a trustworthy shop!
Bought tires on-line made an appointment for 10am told the representative that I will be here waiting for my car, it is now going to1230 and barely waiting on my car. After I asked how much longer for it to be done, they told my they tried calling me to tell me that they didnt have the tires and that they were on their way. I told them why didnt come and tell me and theyre response was that they misunderstood that I told them that I would be waiting they said they tried calling me that I gave them the wrong number but she never asked for it. And then they try to give me an attitude about the whole situation.
Bought my tires and tire insurance at Arlington heights pep boys which is on my way to work. Went to this location because one of my tires had a slow leak and it was closer to my house. They checked my tire but did not find a leak. They told me to have A.H. location fix it since I bought them there. Tire insurance is covered by all locations. Anyhow, A.H. location did fix my problem.
Didn’t have time to think carefully over what they were telling me....I Went in for a battery change, they told me it was the starter....which I replaced 2 years ago, they replaced the starter & it was still doing the exact same thing. Had my family member put in a new battery from Walmart, working just fine now, scammed out of $400.
I love coming to this store the people are always so friendly and understanding of my lack of car knowledge, Tony working upfront took care of me today is my favorite he has the best customer service and is a absolute pleasure to talk too!!!
One good thing about them is they are open all days and my work schedule can get busy. I usually find a pleasant experience at the front desk. One of the best pep boys around.
Bought an item that i was told it would work for my car and it didnt and of course now that they are doing final sales i cannot return it. I feel like i was just told it would work to sell through their inventory faster.
Everyone at this location is wonderful. Super friendly, very helpful, and very kind. Raymond is an absolute gem and I will definitely go back just to see him. Im pretty car illiterate but he walked me through everything that was wrong and explained what I didnt quite understand. Which when it comes to cars, is a lot. Matt is the master mechanic that worked on my car and I couldnt be more pleased. My brakes were in horrible shape and now theyre fantastic. Definitely feel much safer now.
Manager is so rude and not helpful, terrible service. Rip off...Will never come back...
Tony and the crew that worked on December 20 are awesome!
Seriously the best service you could ever ask for. Ive been bringing all of my vehicles here for years but today topped it all... I came at 7:30 am today, just as they opened to drop off a flat tire in hopes of getting it fixed. Told Bill at the service center that I need to get to a Blackhawks game this evening, but Im a teacher so I would love to come right at 3 to get the tire. Walked in, Bill took my keys and went straight out to get my tire on and check the pressure. Top notch service. He even asked how was school today? And that personal touch make me return over and over.
Took my 2004 mercury grand marquis in for an oil change. Took over 2 hours just for an oil change with me waiting. Excuse that I was given was that the pinch welds on my car were too rusty to lift the car on a two post lift so they had to wait for the alignment rack to be free. Even an alley mechanic would know that my vehicle is a body on frame type and that the pinch welds are not the correct lifting points. If there mechanics do not even know how to properly lift a vehicle I have little confidence they know how to properly work on cars.
Get what left at pep boys there closing the store in streamwood for good 😠😯
Very happy with my experience here! I brought it in for a safety inspection for Lyft, and Tony was very helpful. While my vehicle didnt pass due to my tires not being up to snuff, he showed me exactly what the problem is and went above and beyond to give me a quote on the tires, including going over what the most economical and most reliable choices are. When Ive got the money to replace them, itll be with PepBoys thanks to their outstanding service. Thanks for taking care of my little car today, Ill see you soon!
Always can find something for my husbands birthday and Christmas and use their 10 $15 coupon when you say send me with 15% off the people are super nice been going there for a long time
Worst experience
Two hours for a tire rotation thats a joke. Only started working on my vehicle after I inquired after an hour and half, when they promised it would be done. Only reason I went is because I got a deal on a price mistake for tires. Wouldnt ever come back for them to do work on my vehicle.
I got a flat and the donut (spare mini-tire) was put on my car by my passenger after I pulled into a nearby residential area. Unfortunately, by that time, most of the shops were about to close. I was relieved that PepBoys was open until 8 pm. I had to get a new tire. Their service was prompt but getting the new tire on, etc--the entire process-took them almost 2 hrs. It was a hot day; I did appreciate my dog being able to be inside, and they gave her water too.
Not sure why the negative reviews when I have only had positive experiences here. I have been coming here for years now. They are pretty busy here, so make sure to make an appointment if possible. The last time I had my car here, it was in there for well over a week because a part I ordered on my own was taking longer than expected. Shane was awesome and very patient. He never once complained about the part being late or me having to leave my car in their garage for such a long time. While my car was getting worked on, they would call me with updates. Thankfully Pep Boys always has coupons available and that helped me save a good amount of money. I cant say enough about how helpful Shane was and still is. You guys have a lifelong customer here.
They did exactly what I needed done in a professional manner at a reasonable price.
The staff here is nice..well at least what staff they have. Thats my issue with them. No staff! Im so tired of waiting 2 hours for a simple oil change. Im also tired of the same line every time I come we only have one guy back there today well it seems to me that one guy is the normal staff. I only come here because Im using a Hertz rental. The place I normally go on my own vehicle takes literally 20 minutes and I been going there for years no issues whatsoever. I wish they were a Hertz approved shop!
I purchased new tires and scheduled installation online for the next evening. They sent an email confirmation immediately and called me in the morning to confirm my appointment. A very courteous staff greeted me when I entered the store. At the service counter, Jim was very helpful. It took them almost 2 hours to install my four new tires, but I wouldnt want them to rush through the installation and balancing process. I mostly do my own repairs and will return for supplies when needed. Sometimes you need some expert help, especially with tire mounting and balancing.
Low quality repair and dishonest service. The short version of my story, I came in to repair a tire with a nail in it as well as getting a tire rotation. They lied about the tire rotation being done and the tire is still leaking air.---------------------------------------------I came to this location to repair a tire that had a nail through it. The tire that needed the repair was on the driver side at the rear of the car. I decided to also do a tire rotation along with the tire repair.I came in and was told I can only overnight it that day since they were very busy. I decided to make an appointment instead for the following day since I cant overnight my car because I only have 1 car.I dropped my car off the following day and after 2 hours I called them to ask when it would be done and they told me that they were overnighting my car... Even though no one there told me that when I dropped my car off and this was after making an appointment the day before because I specifically could not overnight it before...My tire was already flat so I had no choice but to leave it there. The following day I picked up my car and inspected my tires. It did not seem like a tire rotation was done, but I could not actually 100% prove that so I just took their word for it and went back home. The following day, the tire pressure light went on in my car. The tire that was supposed to be repaired was not repaired properly and was still leaking air. And it was still in the same position as before, the drivers side on the rear. This is proof that there was no tire rotation done. I just wasted time and I am back exactly where I started with a leaking tire that needs to be repaired. So not only was I lied to about the tire rotation being done (it is on my receipt), the repair job was not even done properly since the tire is still leaking air. I suggest to not give Pep Boys your business and look elsewhere.
Still has a lot of the auto toys in there that you will see stuck to the side of a Honda on any given Friday night in a McDonalds parking lot. However, they do carry way better stuff than the others and actually have real replacement parts, and pretty decent accessories. If you need stuff to detail your car, Pep Boys is it, you need real replacement bulbs and not the toy blue ones the others sell, Pep Boys is it. You can get better deals & Amazon like prices if you order online & pick up in store. They are pretty quick & were actually a couple of dollars cheaper than Amazon on a recent shopping spree for the car.
The customer experience was awesome. I set up the appointment, and Tony was very courteous and professional.
Super friendly staff and such good prices. If you really want to maximize your savings, become a rewards member AND look at items youd like to buy online before coming to a physical location - their website has a lot of nice deals. My one complaint is that someone left smears of dried mud all over my car, almost like whoever drove it in/out of the garage had muddy gloves on or something. Was a little annoying to get off, otherwise a great experience
Good job got me in right away.
Cesar and Tony have been great to me and my wife for many years of oil changes. Always have patience with me and deliver quality. Thanks as always!
They don’t understand appointments. I had 12:30 appointment for tire alignment. I was waiting for my car. They didn’t take my car in until 1:30, plus guy at the desk was not even apologetic and arguing that I estimated 2 hours for the job and it will be done by than. So basically they do first come first serve even if you have booked slot. Ultimately my tire service which should be done in 45 minutes I was waiting there for 2 hours.
I had absolutely the best service at this location! The employees are super knowledgeable and friendly, provide excellent recommendations and dont try to upsell you like many other stores like these do. Honest and friendly employees are a great asset to this business!
Got my husbands oil changed, and when they said I needed other work, they actually showed me what the problem was in person. Confirmed later with my father in law that it was a real issue, too. Very pleased with their honesty and work here, as well as prices. The member benefits are fantastic. Pep Boys is my new go-to for auto work.
Always seem to find good quality parts at the lowest price with Pep Boys.always great service. They go out of their way to help you. Enjoy doing business with them
Absolutely great customer service
I used to trust this Pep Boys location to service my car. Their mechanics only worked on what you asked for, and offered cheaper alternatives when available and didnt pressure you to take more expensive options if you didnt need them. For example, three years ago, I took my car here because my TPMS sensor kept going off, and they found out one of the valve stems had cracked, causing an air leak. I didnt want to pay $70 to replace the sensor with the cracked stem then, and they gladly offered to just replace it with a standard rubber valve for $5.They dont do that anymore here. Theyve become like every other auto shop which does a complimentary inspection which really translates to Well try to find ways to make you spend hundreds or thousands on service when you just came in for an oil change. I took my car in for an oil change last week, which wouldve cost $25+tax. I can handle that. This time around, they called me out of the waiting room and tried to tell me I needed nearly $600 in maintenance. Right now, unemployment provides my only source of income. I hope to find a new job soon, but I cannot afford that sort of maintenance at the moment. I straight up told them this and they refused to listen and wouldnt let my car go without making me spend $300 in costs I didnt want to pay. Ill never take my car here again!
For simple battery TEST 2 hrs wait, on top they want to charge u 25$ for same and when asked why so when on website it says free, they said its a trick to bring in customer.
My last three experiences have been good. But today it was great. I recently brought a used vehicle and there had been a radiator smell. The dealer couldn’t seem to find it. Well Pep Boys did and even showed me where the leak was. I took it back and the dealer replaced it.
KEEP YOUR CAR AWAY if you care about it! Brought in my car for a tire to wheel changeover at 12:30. They told me 2 1/2 hours for the job. Called me back at 3:00 when the tires were finished. Perfect. However they recommended a power steering fluid flush, which I knew needed to get done. Said would be 40 minutes to do the job and my car would be ready in an 1 1/2 hours. It is now past 6:00 (closing time on sunday) and my car is still on the rack.Update: They finished at 6:45. I checked around under my hood and found the air-box was not closed and would have been sucking DAMAGING DEBRIS into my engine. Way to go Pep Boys!
They are no longer selling auto parts. They are only a service center
Great place, great people to deal with. Always willing to help with your problem car. Well worth your time.
The service writers were fantastic! They really knew what was going on. When my car was dead out in the middle of Barrington Rd. 2 of the guys came out and pushed my car across 2 lanes to get me onto their property. I couldnt have asked for better people to deal with today. Tony & the rest of the guys have my seal of approval! You guys ROCK!
Bought parts for many years from them. Corporate decided to close commercial and retail parts. How can you get warranty’s on any parts???
They got good prices on tires and quite a bit of merchandise if you need to keep your car good for the road yeah I say its a good experience
Told them my original issue over the phone and told me to come in to see it. The information the guy over the phone put in the computer was ALL WRONG so I had to fix that at the counter. They diagnosed an issue and told me to go to a Naperville DC (45 min drive) to pick up a part. Come back and they say they don’t need it anymore but need a few more hours with car. I Pick up my car and it is now making a horrible rattling noise. I bring it in and I have to leave it there overnight and take my motorcycle to work the next day (huge inconvenience, what if I didn’t have any other means of transportation). I call in because no one has updated me to pick it up and the Manager picks up and doesn’t believe that there could be a problem but said he will drive with me to make sure there is no problem. Come to see him after work and he had a rude, condescending attitude right off the bat. Didn’t hear the ratting noise (A PROBLEM THEY CREATED) but the original problem still sounds like it’s still there. Will never come here again. Dishonest people and lazy mechanics here.
Came in yesterday to get two tires on that i ordered the day before. I go in and wait 1hr and half to find out the guy at the shop wants to go home because hes overworked. They ask me if i can come back tomorrow, i say no problem. Now a little backstory is that i have come to this shop maybe over a year ago to check my tire pressure which they do with no charge. Once i asked the guy if i owe him anything he says no but was glaring at my car (the whole time he was complimenting me on it) so i politely tell him sorry but you driving it is out of the question to which he responds well ill be careful I say sorry bud and left it at that and went on my way.Fast forward to today, i came in again after waiting 1hr and half yesterday. Same issue, wait 2 hours just to hear my car start up inside the shop, i go to the front to look, and see my car being pulled out and see the new tires have been put on. Im used to seeing the employee just take the car out of the garage and park it outside. Guess what? Its the same guy from last time that i told no to driving my car. He not only did not park it but took it out of the parking lot and onto a back street where i lost view of the car COMPLETELY. He comes back after a minute or so and pulls it in to the parking lot slightly tapping the accelerator. (i saw the car pull a little bit) so he puts it in the shop again for some test up he did and then pulls it again out of the shop to park it as it was finished..I go to the front desk and bring up the issue to Jim who was at the service desk, he tells me how supposedly they need to test the car in the parking lot to make sure the lugs were on tight. I tell him i have never had any tire shop take my car outside of a parking lot and he agrees to the issue. Thing is, there is no Manager AT ALL to handle my situation, he is out on vacation......All i was left to do was call customer service and leave a complaint.....Absolutely terrible waiting time for two tires... I went to Sears a few months back to get my fronts installed and i was in and out within 35 minutes.....All in all i spent over 2 and a half hours for two tires and an employee driving my car without asking me.Jim provided good service but besides that this is a terrible place! And i am waiting on a call. The guys name i believe is Harrell who took my car out without consent! If anything happens to my car they will be responsible!
Friendly staff, well stocked, decent prices. Really happy with the tire service. Switching from Good Year to these guys.
Came here for an lyft inspection. I was in and out pretty quickly. Very friendly and good customer service!
I bought 4 new tires from them about a month ago. The workers are all very friendly and very helpful yes I would definitely recommend these people. Especially after having a terrible experience at Firestone
Good selection. Love when they offer Awesome Coupons a couple times a year. Wish they would more often...
I’m writing this review to be a warning to anyone who could be doomed by falling into this same situation. First I want to make clear I don’t blame the employees (some of ‘em are great people) I blame a very bad company. I would not recommend buying any parts at Pep Boys. I have had numerous issues with Prostart batteries. A few examples include the battery dying on me in a hospital parking lot as I walked out in the cold of December wrapped in hospital bandages. You know how tough it is to get a jump in a hospital parking lot? Actually pretty hard! I have been left stranded at gas stations, and just last week late to work because of yet another battery issue! I went to a Pep Boys store to just get my money back for these headaches of a shoddy product, and go elsewhere to get a battery. Just so it is clear a battery should last well over a year and a half! Well low and behold which I should have known because I worked at another Pep Boys previously none of my warranty info for the battery is in the computer! Their warranty tracking system is completely useless it has been for many years, and I bet many of you reading this have had the same problem at least once. A real auto parts store can track that info for many many years. I know I have been in this industry for over 12 years. But since they couldn’t find my info it was either store credit (which what garbage toys do I want to buy at Pep Boys… none!) or another battery that I have to wonder where it is going to leave me stranded at next time! Well all I can say now is I hope someone is around to give me a jump that next time!
I work retail so I don’t like giving bad reviews... but I literally waited at the desk to be helped for awhile.. the guy in front of me left but I stayed because I had an appointment.. they are just understaffed I think because they said they wouldn’t be able to get my brakes done until the end of the day... so I had to leave.
Good prices and service forget ur neighborhood shop they are way cheaper and faster
I just used the service center. The staff was very friendly and very nice. I scheduled an appointment and they were very fast and thorough even though they were behind schedule.
I came in for a free diagnostic and the workers were very helpful. They looked up the codes and explained what the problem was and why it happened. A really nice visit.
Great service advisor here. Told the truth and even personally jump started my cat
Great service, reasonable prices. Beats the dealership every time. The rewards program is nice too.
Great prices but some staff members are very rude and not so friendly
I am presently waiting for one of their service personnel to take my call. It has only been 15 minutes, so no real bother. I just wish to check the cost to replace the brakes and rotors on the car. Well, when I finally did speak with the service person he seemed pleasant and had a positive attitude . The quoted price seemed reasonable for the type of servicing Im looking into as well. I know mechanics and shops Im given over to the belief that some of the previous reviews are resultant to certain shift mechanics being standardly moronic motor-heads with deficient social skills. If I do visit this location I will FWD an additional review on the experience.
Nice place with good and pleasing people. Theyre so polite and nice. Love the service.
I had a brake job done here less then a year ago and the brakes are bad already. I think they use cheap parts and ask for top money for there garbage . I thought this place was decent at the time but I now regret going there. People are rude on the phone. They act like you are bothering them. I ended up canceling my appointment and taking my car to bartels in carol stream. Much better service at a fair price and the people are friendly and very knowledgeable. Stay away from these pep guys. NFG.
Very professional and nice staff, they did a great job with my BMW tires installation. They did a perfect wheel balance on my low profile tires.
I have been using this pepboys since last 12 plus years as they are reasonable as well as honest. BUT on May 4th I took my 2007 Honda Odyssey to repair an issue with whining noise when turning the steering wheel either way as well as a possible leakage of power steering fluid. Pepboys replaced the Power steering pump, one hose and power steering fluid. After completion of the job, steering wheel was still making loud whining noise. The assistant manager advise me that if I drive 10 miles or so the traped air will be removed and noise should go away. I draw 400 miles from Chicago to Columbus, OH but the noise gotten worse! It was risky to drive the car this long way (Assistant manager advised me that it was safe to drive this long!!!).After coming to Columbus, OH, I took my van to Pepboys in Columbus. They replaced the pump and flushed it with new power steering fluid to fix the issue. I had to take 5 hours of time off from my job to get it done.
Thought I needed a self diagnosed repair. Took my car to Pep Boys. They checked it out and found it was something else and did not charge me. Pep Boys in Streamwood are the best.
We brought in my daughters 2000 Cavalier that had many lights coming on the dash.We had been told there would be a diagnostic fee. They called and told us this job needed a dealership to do the diagnosis because of all the error codes from the car. We asked if the alternator could cause this and they agreed it could do that. The replaced the alternator thinking it was the problem. That didnt fix it and I was out $250. Two hours later I got a call to come back and get a refund for th work done since it was not the right thing to do, WOW is all I can say. I am a GSM of a dealership that has one of the highest satisfaction rate in the country.,they deserve a big congrats! I will trust these guys for all my needs when bringing my car 30 miles to my dealership doesnt work. Matt was the guy that made the call on the refund and I must say just a straight shooter! Thanks guys and I hope people read this and appreciate what a quality decision you made when a mistake happened. Problems are opportunities disguised in a challenging manner, The used that opportunity correctly.Chuck
Everything you need and helpful people, good prices
Bowen taking my cars here for a few years and they do a great job. Engine work and suspension work mostly so far.
To be fair, I came at 7:20 when the place closes at 8. However, I stood around for 25 minutes waiting for help from an associate, all of whom informed me they would be right with me. It was me and one other person in the whole store. By the time an associate was able to help they were closing in 15 minutes and were unable to help.
It seems like you have to bring your own mechanic with you just so you know they’re not messing something up in your car. I came in with one problems next thing you know a couple days later a whole bunch of issues came up. These people should get sued.
I want to give 4 Star to there customer service there technician and front desk personnel are well experience and very courteous
The customer service here is good. Helpful
Wanted $1200ish for power steering hose replacement. Another shop did it for less than $200. Pure ripoff here. Please get a second opinion before getting work done.
Good place to get car work done.
This place is awesome. Fast service, quick checkout. Friendly staff. A plus.
I was out the other night and found out while I was driving that I had a headlight out. I still had a long way to drive, it was already dark, and it was about 9 oclock at the time. I stopped at this Pep Boys to get a headlight, and quickly learned that changing one on my wifes car is really tough to begin with, even without it being cold and dark outside like it was. I was basically screwed, I thought. Ticket on the way home FOR SURE. I went in and asked the guy at the desk, Matt, who referred me to the mechanics, for help with installing the headlight. I could tell that they had work to do, and were obviously trying to wrap up their night, but Albert stopped what he was doing and took the time to help me get a new light installed, and even got help from another employee, I think her name was Cynthie, and they spent 45 minutes on my car and took time out of their day to help me even though they had plenty to do, and didnt stop until it was totally finished. And, then they didnt charge me anything, either. They were excellent to me, and I wanted to make sure I named as many of them as I could remember because they all deserve credit for their help! DEFINITELY go to this place. They do great work, and if you have to wait, theyre very entertaining, too! A+ THANKS EVERYONE AT PEP BOYS ON BARRINGTON!
Great and fast service. Guys that work there are very nice and helpful.
I agree Michael Jones- The customer service is TERRIBLE. Cesar and Shawn or Shayover the service department were rude. Cesar ignored me and went to the back and asked Shay to helped me out instead when Cesar was the person that took care of me the night I had a problem. They charged me $15 -core charge- They kept my battery and never reimburse me the $$. plus they charged me $10 for battery installation, even thought they had FREE installation when I bought the Battery.Being a women and so many men employees there, yet Cesar asked me to get the battery from the Parts counter to the service counter. So there I was myself carrying the 60lbs battery myself in the store! Not even a thank you nor have a nice day was said from them!
Asked for oil change only. They did it as I asked.Usually they try to do inspection and find broken/worn out things and give you advice and price to fix it, some other places will put pressure on you and sell something to you. This place is good and staff is friendly.
First start off with the customer service is bad, they are under staffed all the time. The workers arent approachable or nice. And they dont know what they are doing, hence they give you the wrong parts and I noticed it in store. And did i mention the wait for the parts and an employee? Thats was another 15 min in itself
The associate that helped me find what I needed was very helpful in giving suggestions.
Had an appointment at 12 me and the staff agreed that they would call me when the car was done. I recieved an email after the store was closed 7 hours later and now I am carless untill tomorrow. this isnt the first time Ive made an appointment and had to wait hours for the car to be serviced. I am never going back to this place ever again.
Horrible place which overcharges for even the most basic things. Had a check engine light for evap. Took it here and was given a massive list of things to be changed: all the sensors, units and several other things and was given a total estimate of $900. Told em to take a hike and took my car elsewhere. Turned out to be a minor issue and got it fixed for 200 bucks. Car works just fine now. If you hate your money then go here.
Friendly staff, service area is good. Alignment came out great.
Very good service, bought wiper blades and they installed.
One of the Managers was very helpful!
Extremely terrible service, took my car here to change license rear plate and license plate light housing. When I went to pu car they had not done the housing, so scheduled another appt and had to be weekdays 8-5 because they only have one master tech. When I turned up guy tells me cant do it because hes short handed. Another appt and at that one they discovered their shop did not have the part so had to order from dealer. Several days later scheduled another appt only for them to realize they ordered wrong part. A week later today at 9am another appt; this time part is in but after waiting one hour left them the car at 10am. When I returned at 4:30 part still not installed, a job that requires less than 30 mins. Annoyed I just bought the part back from them to have anther shop do it. Stay away, horrible, horribel!!!
Had an appointment for tire rotation and oil change. It took 2H15 min to do it. went back home and check if my tires were rotated. (I marked them up with a marker) to find out they did not rotate any tires even if I checked with them before leaving. tire rotation was written down on the bill. call district Mgr but not much...I will follow up on this....never heard of anything.
