Love the store and merchandise but had a pretty unsettling experience. I walked into the store knowing what I wanted but needed a few questions answered. No one was to be found. I tracked down a girl at the front register who seemed pretty annoyed that I needed help. Pretty sure she was annoyed because I appeared like maybe I couldn’t afford their product and I would be wasting her time since I was wearing a t shirt and shorts. (Mind you I had just got done going for a walk). Wasn’t aware that a dress code validated the amount of money in someone’s bank account. Every question I asked made me more and more frustrated so I finally gave up and left. Will I be shopping at pottery barn? Sure. Will I be giving my money to this store or sales associate? Not a chance. Thank goodness for online shopping.

We love the great selection and numerous creative furniture styles that they sell. Dont get fooled by their name, although they do offer farm style pottery, they have a lot more farm/industrial furniture and accents. The quality is top notch and made in the USA. We love the reclaimed wood tables and chairs.

I was in this store earlier today with my best friend who was buying furniture for her new home. At first the female sales associate was eager to help since my friend was going to buy big pieces of furniture for her home and open a credit card as well. We noticed a sign that said a credit card could be opened right on the phone but the woman said “the store gets credit for the cards if you open it with us. It’s what keeps us in business.” So my friend agreed to open the credit card with her in store. As my friend is filling out the info she mentions she’s an associate with the company. The woman’s entire disposition changed instantly. She couldn’t be bothered. At a point in the transaction there was a question about income. While my friend is an associate with the company, she does have a well paying full time job. When the amount was entered the sales associate responded with “they have a way of checking those things” implying that the information was inaccurate. Once the credit card was approved my friend had questions about a certain material used and the woman was dismissive. When asked if there was a sample of the material the woman flipped through a few swatches she had and said “nope. Don’t have it.” She did the same with a few books she had there. Then we looked at one and low and behold there’s the swatch. We ended up leaving and not purchasing anything as this womans rudeness ruined what was supposed to be a happy and exciting experience. After that experience I certainly will not be shopping there in the future. I will drive further away to another store to purchase my things, and I’m not an associate, so the other store will get full credit for all my purchases. In the words of Vivian Ward “You work on commissions, right? Big mistake. Huge!”

I really like PB but we bought 15 glasses from them to replace some older wine and high ball glasses and I spent well over an hour getting the silly price tag off the glasses. First soaked them in hot soapy water, then a stiff scrub brush, then goof off, then a razor blade and finally alcohol. It was a ridiculous experience that should never happen in 2017.

I went into the Pottery Barn at First Colony today excited to buy some items for our new home. I also wanted to apply for a store card to take advantage of their current promotion. Upon my disclosure that I am an associate at an affiliated company the saleswoman became curt, condescending, and dismissive. The store was not busy yet she acted as though she could not be bothered with my questions. Additionally, she made what I felt like was a rude comment regarding the companys policy on income verification as if I was a) being untruthful and b) unaware that credit card companies do that?! This is not my first experience with this associate and while my last encounter was a couple of years ago (before I was an associate), I felt then that she was rude and dismissive but chalked it up to perhaps a bad day. It wasnt a bad day, shes just rude and profiles customers. Its a shame because I know this company prides itself on diversity and customer service. I have frequented this particular store and have purchased several pieces from them. I will be taking my business and my excellent credit elsewhere.

The name does not do justice to the wonderful items throughout this store. If you are newly engaged this is a place you can register. The staff are friendly and they gift wrap wedding presents for registered couples free. 😉

I had an unpleasant experience with a male employee today. I was asking about a store shipping question, didt really understand the ladies response, and he rudely interjected with a snippy response comparing my question with Walmarts shipping policy. Did not appreciate his tone
