New management, family run! Service was excellent and the beignets are to die for! The fruit filled ones are excellent, especially the lemon.. fresh and tart!! Definitely worth the trip (and return trips as well)!
They are back open regularly and have some new breakfast beignets. They are great and the Vietnamese ice coffee is excellent. Great place to sit and relax and maybe even bring a laptop and get some work done.
So good! Had the banana foster beignet, was amazing! Great service too, super friendly.
Everything about this (re)New cafe is fantastic! The beignet varieties are creative & delicious. The savory one with egg, cheese & sausage is a tastebud festival 🥳 The bananas foster is decadent & flavorful 😋The owners have definitely succeeded in creating an inviting & bright atmosphere that is very clean. Can’t wait to go back and try other menu items!
One of our favorite spots in Sugar Land. The beignets are top quality, and we recommend trying the stuffed beignets. You will not be disappointed. Each one of the filings is made from scratch. My favorite was the lemon curd while my wife’s was the raspberry.
Friendly staff and excellent service! They just recently opened up again after their remodel, I highly recommend the PB&J beignet!
I made a visit to Chez Beignet III this morning 9/27/21. I had the most awesome experience. I really hate that I didnt get their names. This couple was so sweet and professional. They made me feel like I was a family member....Lol. The beignets were so delicious. I purchased 12 of the filled and 3 regular. My family LOVED them. We will be visiting them again. Oh by the way, the water taste great too!!
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious beignet! Extremely nice staff! I recommend the lemon tart filled and raspberry beignets! Yum 😋
IGNORE THE OLD REVIEWS!! After a long wait, Chez Beignets III has reopened under new management. A sweet family took over ownership and run it together. Our beignets were made fresh and were so good. I didnt get a picture before my kid and I devoured the basket of mini pillow beignets, but trust me, they were delicious! We cant wait to go back and try more treats on the menu. There was plenty of seating inside and WiFi. It was quieter than Starbucks so it would be a great alternative if you wanted a quiet place to work or study. They have coffee/espresso, tea and ice cream, too. I hope they get more support from the community.
Im disappointed 😢 Ive been waiting to try this place for a while and finally caught them while they were open.I try to support local businesses but its hard to support if the quality of food isnt good.I thought beignets were supposed to be light & fluffy...not at this place! It took forever for them to make them and there was no one else in the restaurant. My beignets are dense, greasy, and the middle is not fully cooked! Maybe theyre having a bad day 🤔I want my money back and I will not go back unless they learn how to make a good beignet.Definitely not like the beignets in New Orleans. The girl that helped me was nice though.
Awesome and friendly experience! Delicious food! Definitely recommend!
Delicious beignets and an amazing friendly staff, definitely visiting again.
Great service and delicious beignets! Under new ownership. Antonio and Lupe are very gracious and accommodating hosts. Give them a try!!!
Awesome service. Tasty food.
Wow, Im glad I finally tried this place only sorry I didnt try them sooner, order is always made after you order it so its always toasty and warm.
Best Beignets in Houston! I prefer them over Cafe’ Du Monde’s in New Orleans. Lighter and fluffier. Less dense. Very good. Appeals to my inner Foodie. Try them; you’ll like it.
Staff is delightful, beignets are made fresh to order, coffee is delicious. A $9 basket was more than two of us could finish. Love the cafe au lait and other coffee specialties.
Nice experience the staff were part of the new owners and they visited with us about our prior experiences at their restaurant. we gave them a suggestion and they were glad to accept it.
If you dont know or never had Beignet before, go straight to this place. They have excellent beignet and coffee. If you have a large group of people, get the box instead of the basket. It is cheaper and you get more for your money. We love going there as a Family. There are 2 locations. One is in Sugarland and the other is located in the International District on Bellaire Blvd and Wilcrest.
Place is still good, but prices have went way up. 1 beignet cost $2.50, they no longer sell by 1/2 dozen or dozen. Only individual. They offer a box, called fingers, where they basically cut a few full size beignet into strips for $15 dollars. Price increase may be due to the pandemic. And the size is much, much smaller on the beignets. Use to be a pretty good size, but no more.
The Beignets were great & so was the staff. My family & I will be back.
Amazing beignets. The filled ones and plain are both outstanding. Best Ive had outside of New Orleans. The coffee is dinner quality, but it hits the spot just right with their delicious treats. Friendly service as well.Theres a reason theyve been open for over a decade.
Whether you get a box of the pillows or a box of the fingers, it is really good. Will be back again.
Not a place I will ever go to again. The quality of the food is better than previous visits but after paying $25 for 2 baskets and 3 coffees I was informed coffee refills would be $1 each. Not customer friendly. I guess that is why we were the only ones there. Also the kid on duty this morning did not seem to care the refill policy was turning paying customers into EX customers
Glad you are open! Im typically a Shipleys donuts person on a Sunday morning but decided to try something new. Pleasantly surprised delicious Beignets with coffee. Yummy great friendly service also. Come get out and support this business!
ALL LOOKS AMAZING... SAW THIS ON YOUTUBE WITH RAINA & JOEL😍❤👍👍
Different flavor beignets but loved the huge size!
Took my family here for the first time. Fantastic experience staff is extremely nice kind of food is made fresh for you. Definitely be going back again
They were so tasty. nice lil spot
Super Tasty! Will definitely be back
The food was alright but not worth the service. We walked in with a drink from another place and the girl working behind the cashier very rudely told us that we couldn’t be in there with drinks. There weren’t any trash cans in the place so we had to walk back to the other cafe to throw it away. We didn’t think much of it so we payed $1.95 for one beignet. We sit down at a table for about five minutes to eat until and old man (I presume the manager) comes up to us. He tells us that we are in a public restaurant and it’s common decency/a rule that we had to pay $2.50 per person. We explain that we’re sorry and we’ll just finish up and leave. The man continued to say what he was saying before so we just got up and left. I have had many unfortunate experiences before but this is the first time I’ve ever left a review. They obviously don’t appreciate their consumers and only care about their revenue. And the food wasn’t bad but it wouldn’t be hard to find something better.
Sadly, before I could even enter the restaurant the owner was extremely rude. I was getting out of my car with my fiance when I saw an older gentleman getting out of his car and approaching the front door. He was moving pretty slow so I stepped up to the door to hold it open for him. As I did this I had a cup half filled with tapioca from the teahouse across the street. As the man approaches the door I hear him mumbling something so I kinda smile and lean in to try to hear what he is saying. He repeats it but I still didnt catch it. Finally as hes getting in to the restaurant he turns around and speaks up and says, Dont bring your drink in my restaurant, goodbye! Now I work at a restaurant so I understand policy and my fiance and I were in no rush so we would have gladly stayed outside while I finished what I had left in my drink, but the way he so rudely kicked us out before we had even broken policy (I hadnt enter the restaurant) was disrespectful and extremely hurtful. I would wholeheartedly discourage anyone from eating here based on how rude this man is. Ive reviewed other one star reviews on here and have found that there are other people who have experienced the owner lashing out in anger over something that can be handled much more civilly. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.
I love coming here for beignets and strong cappuccinos. I find the atmosphere cute and quirky. It is quiet and lovely. The staff are always wonderful.
Kids love this place. We like the beignets and fingers here better than Coffee Call in Baton Rouge where we spent 11 years there. However, the price is a bit high and the coffee must be ALL decaf because I tried every single one of them there and every time I fell asleep after drinking them.
First time in by chance, great shop very clean. Friendly people there, young lady at the counter was very patient with me and helpful. Their tea is awesome but the beignets wow first time having them but wont be the last. Found myself a new coffee stop.
The beignets are good and airy- made fresh while you wait. The staff is pleasant and eager to please.
My wife has been wanting to stop here for months. I stopped and grabbed some hot fresh beignets and took them home. Fantastic. But, I think this is a great place to come to sit and enjoy. We will be back soon and often..
Second time they werent open when website said they are
THE OWNER RIDICULED US! The service was atrocious and dreadful. As soon as we entered, the staff roared that drinks from other places were prohibited, I understand that it is a store policy but I was holding a water bottle. So from the very beginning I felt excluded instead of feeling welcomed. I let that slip and placed my water bottle inside my bag. I ordered a beignet and sat at a table and chatted with my friends hoping spend a peaceful and pleasant afternoon to celebrate my birthday. After ten minutes, a rude and disrespectful man hobbled up to us and demands that we spend more than $2.50 each and if we don’t then are required to leave immediately. I still had not finished my beignet and so I told him that I would like to finish my dish first and he looked at me with a bewildering facial expression. So my friends and I departed, feeling humiliated, insulted and mocked. Definitely this was not the way I wanted to celebrate my birthday. I will never enter those doors again and no other self respecting human being should either.
Its not home, but its a quick fix if you crave the fabulous beignet and chicory. My biggest complaint is that the ones I had here were real thick and doughy, instead of crisp and light.
Offers relaxed environment with friendly service.
Absolutely awful coffee. Espresso machine broken
Went to this place twice to get food for the office and each time they were not open at 8am! Even though their door says they open at 8 and online. I waited 15 minutes still no one was there both times! Piss poor management! To managers response: I went twice and both days were not a Monday and if you are closed then have a sign up and change your hours on your door That is common sense!!!!
Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Beignets and chicory coffee were great.
Hot and tasty! Nice place to get after dinner dessert.
Quiet place really good if you want to just have coffee with friends
Fried dough is good. You can bet this chubby guy will fall in love with this place. The service sometimes sucks (impatient Baker, rolls her eyes in front of me, audible huff as she goes to make my order). But the ambience is cool and it makes it a great date spot. Good wifi, hot drinks, and ample parking will keep me coming back.
Wonderful experience! The cappuccino was perfection in a cup.The atmosphere and music selection is a pleasant change.Thank you staff
For its price, you get a hearty sized beignet with all the honey and powdered sugar the 5-year-old in you desires. Even when taken to-go, they pack plenty of dipping sauces for you to enjoy.Inside is a very comfortable atmosphere, perfect for a little bit of studying or a 1-on-1/small group.
Had a great time, quiet atmosphere, and some table games like uno make for a fun experience
Great food and tea and family loved the vinalla nut coffee. Just service was Tad slow but over all great experience!! Definitely recommend!
Their take on the beignets was different but still very tasty. The honey was superb. Very fresh. Gave 2 stars for the very inappropriate attire the cashier was wearing. Short shorts with her rear end hanging out. For a family place! not Proper
Beignets are made to order and come out warm and fluffy. Great place for breakfast.
Had the Beignet strips. A little over cooked but still good and warm.
A little more doughy than should be but the way they go through them, Im sure they arent able to let their dough rise twice. Still a good, quick fix if you have a Beignet addiction after eating them for a week in NOLA...
Tasty like Cafe du Monde in New Orleans.
Pretty ok place for it to not be New Orleans based. Would recommend the pillows. Would not recommend here if you dont like nutmeg. You can def taste it.
Always friendly staff. Fast service. My kids love coming here with me.👍👍
The stuffed beignet was nice and light, i prefer it over the the little pillows. The owner was on site and he is an Older gentleman with a grumpy disposition. Each time I have seen him there his demeanor is always lime that. He never greets us and he will be front and center. His staff mostly Young Asians are polite and try to be helpful. I paid for coffee and dis not get it as they were out however, staff brewed a fresh pot but after experiencing the Owners manner I was just ready to go. Children were there and he seemed agitated by their playfulness. I actually heard him complain about them. He should just trust his staff and stay home.
This is no Cafe Du Monde beignets, but its a good local option. I also like that you have the option of getting a filled beignet. I ordered a chocolate filled beignet with a cappuccino and both were pretty tasty. The beignet was fresh and made upon ordering. They also have games for customers to play while enjoying drinks and food.
Wow. Picked up freshly cooked beignets...very good
Love this place! It was nice to sit down with family and friends and have some yummy beignets and coffee. They are truly delicious beignets and not over fried or over sugared they are just right and just want I wanted on a cold Saturday night!
Its, really, just okay. Ordered hot chocolate and beignets. The filling was nothing to write home about, and the hot chocolate was not delicious. They were fresh (but how can you serve beignets that arent? They all have to be made to order), but the flavor wasnt that great. Like I said, it was okay.
Great family outing spot or just hang with friends. Love their hot pillows with tapioca drinks
Place is clean with great atmosphere aside from good beignets.
My family and I love it here and cant get enough of the Beignets and vanilla nut coffee.
Very nice people and delicious Breignets
Love the friendly employees here. Always smiles and happy to help you. My children also love it here.
We enjoy coming to this place. Their beignets are delicious. Coffee is good too.
Light and fluffy. Great service. Excellent spot to stop for a quick coffee and snack
Best Beignet I have ever had. Desert place, with alot of yummy variations on the beignet.
Great beignets. Cozy clean shop. Friendly team.
If you’ve never sunk your teeth into a sweet, puffy-while-crispy, flaky beignet, you’ve missed out on the perfect gourmet donut. These aren’t pre-made, iced and sprinkled rings that you bribe your coworkers with when you show up 20 minutes late. No, this is hand-cut, made-to-order, puffed art, topped with powdered sugar, and exploding with sweet air.
Polite service, tasty Beignets! Chicory coffee perfectly brewed.
A Sugar Land gem! I especially love the beignet pillows! Caution... you will get addicted to this quaint place!👌💕
I love beignets and their beignets are good but not sure I would be back here... If yes, probably to go only!
I went in and asked for a half dozen. Beignets and he looked at me and said they did not sell beignets just finger basket I was like why is it up on your board you sell them he could not answer my question he did not speak English just chinese this place has gone down hill
I am from Shreveport, Louisiana and I grew up eating beignets and I can confidently say these were some of the most disappointing beignets I have had the displeasure of eating. The key to a good beignet is to keep it light and fluffy but these were somehow tough and chewy. I dont even know how they made this happen but it was very disappointing. On a brighter note, recently I went with some friends over to Top Shelf Cajun and its not more than 5 minutes down the road. If youre looking for quality beignets then do yourself a favor and stop by over there.
Beignets are really good. I ordered to go and the cashier was friendly.
Wish they offer savory items as well otherwise excellent beignets, good coffee and tea selection, and friendly staff.
It was ok. I got them to go & had to sugar them myself. They had an unusual flavor, but good. No Cafe Dumond though...
Very quaint and cozy place to stop by for dessert and a beverage. Family friendly and good prices.
Going to a restaurant is one of my keenest pleasures. Meeting someplace with old and new friends, ordering & eating food, surrounded by strangers, I think is the core of what it means to live a civilised life. But i will never ever come back to this place, crew and owner/manager, hostesses, pushy servers, uneducated crew who is talking about us while we are eating, so rude. My family are very uncomfortable so we leave the place immediately and take note they even ask 50 cents for a togo box, seriously, lol.
Outdated decor, under staffed, & tacky! He should really update the place & add more staff! It’s embarrassing. I feel bad for his staff.
Very authentic. As good as Cafe Du Monde
