Cool store, wish the garden section had more options, only flowers and rosemary. Is a great in and out when you discover something is needed mid-project.Their team is friendly and helpful.

This is the Ace Hardware store at Cotton and Bell Rd. in Surprise. Its a rather small store, but they have a good selection of hardware fasteners, which is what I need fairly often. Getting help here has been easy and theres plenty of parking. They close early on Sunday, so be sure to check their hours. As with all Ace Hardware stores, the prices are higher than at the big box stores, but the convenience and personal help may be worth the extra cost for you. I highly recommend this Ace Hardware store.

The folks at this Ace, near Bell & Cotton, are really helpful and very friendly. They honor Ace coupons, even when theyve expired, so dont throw them away if you have some, but use them here instead. Great local hardware store with a good selection of items and lots of nuts and bolts to choose from as well as good advice when youre not sure what you need.

Dropped off two very good quality (Solingen) kitchen knives off on Sunday to be sharpened. I had the very same knives sharpened here a couple years ago and they did a very nice, clean job. The knives barely looked sharpened but had a beautiful new edge on them. This time I was told there wasnt anyone qualified to sharpen them (on Sunday), so I needed to leave them overnight and someone would sharpen them on Monday and call me when they were done. No problem. Monday morning comes around and I get the call from Lee in the service department. I stop in on my way to work and he has them nicely wrapped and ready to go, $3 per knife. Got them home later that afternoon, unwrapped the knives, and was shocked at what I saw. On both the 6 utility knife and 3 paring knife, he had so aggressively ground them down that he actually reshaped the blade itself (see pics). I laid another almost identical blade next to it so you can see the difference (before & after). I hone the knives almost every time I use them depending on job, and the blades were in perfect shape. All they needed was a new edge. Look closely at the top blade! Thats what he did to my perfect good, expensive kitchen knives. IF YOU VALUE YOUR KNIVES, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! Its obvious he doesnt know what hes doing and will over-aggressively grind them down in the same manner. And to think Ive told other people they offer this service here! What was I thinking??? Im sure Lee is a nice guy, but Ive had these expensive Solingen gourmet kitchen knives for 25 years, and left in his hands for 5 minutes theyve basically been turned into camping knives. No pun intended but my knives got butchered. Do not get your knives sharpened here, or youll be as sorry as I am.

This place is way overpriced. Besides that I was waiting in line there was a little cashier problem no big deal. They called for help 8 mins later a woman showed up. The other 2 cashiers havent checked anyone out yet. So she says Ill help whom next which is me but only if they are using debit or credit. Not me I brought cash. Ok no biggie the first round. Round 2 still the other cashiers havent checked out thier customers yet. Im holding 2 cubic feet of potting soil and a steal wool scraper. She ask to help another person except me because I had cash. I finally left. I couldnt believe how I was dismissed like that. I will never return

The old men at this establishment are not interested in helping anyone. They treat you as if you’re intruding on their day and being a nuisance when you ask for help. Someone should tell them what they are there for.This is the closest Ace to me, but after several disappointing experiences there I have decided to drive the 20 minutes to Goodyear in the future.I just have to say that the people working the registers ( usually women) are alway very friendly.

My problem is with the key department. I needed to fix a broken key for my car. Gave the year of the vehicle and was told to come in. Once I arrived, they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and told me they couldnt fix the key. Both men walked into the back and would not help me. Horrible costumer service and complete waste of time driving over there.

I tried to use the coupon that was printed on each month of their 2020 calendar. The clerk (Cody or Cory) said it couldnt be used because the two 16 oz propane bottles are fuel and fuel is excluded on the coupon. I said really?. He then took another redeemed coupon out of the cash register and read it to me as proof that fuel was excluded. I said I didnt see that fuel was excluded on my coupon. He then said I just read it to you. I asked him why he would read another coupon rather than the one that I was trying to redeem to which he replied well let me see it then. I asked him to total the sale and told him that he and I were done. My coupon did not exclude fuel. This guy is an absolute determent to the people who employ him. He doesnt have an idea what customer service is at all and further he doesnt know how to conduct himself in a professional environment. Unfortunate!

Ace is great for hardware, but their paint department cannot match preexisting paint colors. I tried to have them match a wall paint color, but it turned very dark when it dried. I showed the paint department manager photos of how badly their paint didnt match the original color and he did nothing to help rectify their mistake. I was contacted by the store. After posting this review and they replaced the paint.

Please do not use this store if you need a screen door! We ordered a new one, said to come in 10 days later, never arrived on time!When I called the store and talked to the “Services” department once they said it was not in I asked if they would now provide a discount (door was almost $200) all he said was no and hung up the phone! I was left on the phone with no one on the other side!If you call that customer service then please go head and use them but if you are like me and except some courtesy I would not use them!

Staff is always better than Hone Depot or L Lowes. If you want to get the right thing the first time out go here. Plus they make window screens, cut glass, and keys too.

Lee was quick to fix a lock for me and had me on my way. Staff is always very helpful here and friendly they dont run from you when they see you coming down the aisle like the big box stores. Just wish they stayed open till at least 7 .

We purchased a Honda Ridgeline, the factory key was bent and would surely break.David in the service department was able to cut a new key and transfer the chip.He is not simply a very kind man,I believe him to be an Ace magician!!!

Found everything I needed to complete a small project

I love this place. I discovered it when I moved here. I tend to go there like once every month or so. There prices are actually better sometimes than the Home depot. They are the best place to get bolts from near by. Except for another place that is further in town. The home depot has a big mess for the screws and hardware section. Yet here, they have a wonderful variety that is like 90% organized. Which is pretty organized. Considering its like collection of 200000 screws!

I have lived close to Ace on Bell road. I try not to go in their, their rude, dont give you time of day. Suppose to be friendly like on their adds. Rather drive 10 miles down to Sun City West Ace to get good service.

We like to go to our local Ace for our repair needs for electrical and plumbing, not to mention anything needed for maintaining your yard and home against weeds and bugs. Theyre customer service is excellent there, always ready to help.

Still disappointing... needed a socket Sunday (9/13) not a special socket just your every day run of the mill deep 5/8 socket.... $11... thats right $11 for a single 5/8 socket.I had to wait for the chubby guy at the register to stop flirting with the young girl also working the register then he was as rude as it gets... probably because I interrupted his flirting time (and he had no chance at all)I dont know why I go to this place and I feel being in surprise/ sun city area they just take advantage of the older people in the area.Worst hardware store there is... They are out of everything... Just the last two days needed a simple toilet shut off valve... sorry were completely out, now needed Teflon tape.... sorry were completely out, this happens 75% of the time I come to this store... have a little pride Ace... Im done with this store

Little pricey, as most Ace hardware can be I assume due to the home depot that are generally around the corner of each other. However, the employees at Ace are very helpful and nice. I enjoy shopping there.

I understand this is a smaller than big box hardware store, but my experience was less than convenient here. Out of stock on MANY common/standard electrical outlets including the 20A I needed for a simple home project. And one older employee was more concerned w his checklist vs actually helping customers.

Not everyone shopping in the store was wearing a mask. One staff person had a face shield, which is not a mask substitute; another staff member wore her mask under her nose.

Very slow service. Waited and rang bell multiple times while two employees stood less than 20 feet away jibber jabbering about something. Needed a simple key made, couldnt pull it off.

Any ACE store u go to, all the employees are always so nice & ready to help. Great place to get extra keys made.

This is a really good store to shop at. The people that are very friendly, and very helpful. If you even look like you need something or cant find something, someone just suddenly appears and helps you find it. They have a large variety of things and as usual the cost is very nominal. I have been to two different stores looking for a specific can of spray to put on lawn ornaments. Only Ace had it. And when I looked lost trying to find it a young lady appeared beside me and helped me even though they had other customers checking out. A great bunch of people!

They closed at 430 today I walked up at 4:31, my bad no problem. But the dude with a beard gaurding the door to a store full of people was more then rude, he did say sir while he was rude. And its no skin off my back I try to do the right thing and support small business but no more ace for me and hello home Depot.

Most of the time Ace hardware stores are great at customer service and very knowledgeable staff. However today was not one of those times. I was told the hardware fasteners expert had already gone home. So a employee did their best at helping me. They finally had to call someone else over to help me while the other one was called to the counter to cashier. I am not sure if I have the correct hardware I need until I start the small project. It was frustrating. I would recommend going earlier in the day when all the expert staff is available. I will go back again I am sure.

Like most hardware stores almost never have the exact fittings I need, but this is the best stocked Ace Hardware that I know of. Big thanks from The AC Team Heating and Cooling for saving us time.
