Great produce although somewhat limited internet selection to the big box grocery stores. Its not always clear is what is in which aisle.Would also help to have an additional Checker or two when it gets busy. Thats a very solvable problem, if they looked at the data from store activity. As a result, I would probably not go there if I wanted one or two items.
As Portuguese, and used to shop at Lidl back home, I have mixed feelings about how Lidl does business at this location. The way shelves are organized is not as structured as in Europe. I missed some of the European selection. Short on stock. Also, the organic offer of fruits and vegetables is limited. Customers are not used to quickly check out. I have a hunch I won’t return to Lidl, at least in this location. A surprising (and positive) aspect of the customer experience in Lidl US is the music playing in speakers.
Lidl is a complete super market and a wonderful edition to our little neighborhood. They have a good selection of meats, vegetables, home and baby supplies and a bakery to boot. They have great prices and deals compared to other supermarkets in the area. They have ample parking. The only shortcoming is more often than not I need to pull a cart from the cart return in the parking lot than by the store entrance.
This store produce was not fully restock with the sweet potatoes, This location is larger than lanham location.
Pretty good American version of the European original. Good deals on many everyday items. Some brands you know many you dont but they are good quality. Staff was very helpful. They let us know about the app, you get 5 off everytime you purchase 30 or more.
This grocery store is very similar to ALDIS Supermarket they have Organic products just like ALDIS their choices of cheese selection is much better and bakery is outstanding the eggs and vegetables are quite good as well as their seafood and meat is okay the employees are very friendly and helpful.
Very clean. Great selection. Great shopping experience. Great flower selection. Fresh breads!
Lidl has become my NEW store to shop on a budget! I love buying my name brand products but I decided try some Lidl brands, like Almonds, Organic Milk and Cheese. LOVE them! And travel time for me to get there, less than 10 minutes away! It’s neat and clean and plenty of space to move about to shop.
The lines to check out are purgatory. It’s a great shopping experience but every time I check out here it’s 30+ minutes just standing. Usually the lines run crazy with people cutting each other, one line open and the other waiting for a manager.
Great selection without being overwhelming. Lots of off brands which stand in very well and the on-brands when nothing else will cut it
Large store, selection is good. Prices are pretty good. Check dates before buying, close to expiration.ignore, app sales the same as advertised.
This Lidl grocery store is fantastic the bakery is very good and cheese selection is really good you can find some really good products at a good low price this Lidls store the employees are very friendly and helpful.
I love this bright clean, new store, for all my groceries and household needs 🏠
I finally checked out Lidl. I was very excited about the selection of items and the prices until I got in line to check out. There was a big cockroach crawling down the aisle!
This is a great place to shop. In and out. Cashiers and floor staff friendly and helpful👌.They also report being treated well by management. So thats a big deal. Clean and organized consistently.
It’s really sad how quickly this went downhill. Please bring back regular sized carts and/or baskets. Sometimes shoppers only want to get a few items and do not require a costco-sized cart.It would also help to put up signs near/ahead of checkout to let shoppers know that they will be required to bag their own items, because almost every time there is someone who gets through the line then is surprised, which is inconvenient to them and also backs up the whole line.
With these stores like Lydl and Aldi they changes so much that you go back to get something and they dont have it anymore so its OK...I do save a few $.
I was very happy when I found the Lidl just 10 minutes from my house. I am familiar with them from Europe. I am hoping they add more of the European products that you can find in Italy. I am a regular there now. Good products and prices.
This store is good. You cant go wrong with this Lidl. I give them 4 stars instead of 5 because they were out of the sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer at the door. Also, Im not a fan of the area or shopping center. On the positive side, the people at the registers have always been great!
Excellent...good stuffs in morning
Love Lidl, except this store. On one visit 15 minute wait to check out. It is a store from the old Soviet Union, that is you never know if an item will be in stock. One time no 2% milk another no cookies in the entire store, so if you are a gambler this is you place.
Long wait time to check out with only 2 cashiers working at the time I came. But shopping experience was great. I found everything I was looking for.
I am falling in love with this store and their prices. Please, check out the meats and the great deals to be had. Come on, yall, a dozen of large eggs under .80 cents.
First and foremost, it needs to be said that Lidl, much like Aldi, is not a normal grocery store. It’s a German-style discount retailer that sells mostly groceries, but also has a rotating assortment of non-food items that change every week. Having lived in Germany for many years, I’ve really come to love these places- you can get most of the everyday essentials here and save a ton of money, and then go to a traditional supermarket for specialty stuff. It’s always a good idea to check the circular online for the week to see what the special offerings are before heading to the store. Though the weekly non-food items are not name brand, in my experience they’re usually pretty decent quality. The same goes for the food- some people complain that the items are ‘off-brand’ but the fact is that a good majority of them are produced by the same companies that make the name-brand versions. The quality is generally very good. This Lidl is great- nice wide aisles, clean and organized shelves, and very helpful staff. They have a guard at the door who makes sure the cart cleaning supplies are kept stocked. The bakery goods are delicious and crazy affordable. I’m so glad they’ve joined the neighborhood!
Lidl is new to the US market in the last few years. They are a huge presence in Europe. Very good prices but just remember not a lot of different brands of the same product. More often than not the product is Lidl branded. I have found the Lidl branded products to be fine. Also has non food items toward the back of the store
Store was clean and well stocked. However plants have a limited shelf life as they arent watered. But, in their defense, it seems that alot of stores dont water their plants. Go on Wednesday when they refresh their ads to get the best and healthiest options.
Great place 👍 good service
I was really looking forward to checking this place out and found it to be a big disappointment. When I first walked in, I was impressed at how wide open it was compared to the Shoppers it replaced, but then I soon realized that that comes at a huge price. With very wide aisles, I would estimate they have 40-50% less stuff than Giant or Safeway. At Giant I usually find 90% of what is on my shopping list. At this place I found about 40%. Just much much less selection. Heck, they dont even sell bagels. If the stuff they have was carefully curated like Trader Joes or Whole Foods, it might make more sense, but it felt arbitrary. A lot of it is standard big name products, just a lot less to choose from. They even take up a big section in the back of the store to sell things like cheap power tools or clothes. Maybe they think they could make a few extra bucks w/that stuff, but I really wish they put, ya know, food there since it is a grocery store. They dont even have plastic bag recycling which most other supermarkets do so that too I will have to go to Giant for.
I love the store and the selection they have. You can not beat the price.
Larger than a regular Lidl (but about half the size of the shoppers), clean, nice fresh bakery selection, great looking, affordable produce (pint and a half blueberries for 1.29). Fun aisle of household items, seasonal stuff, delicious praline chocolates. And yes, they dont carry main brands, but the quality is just the same. Unique brands are how they save you money (think Costco and Aldi). Making this my new weekly grocery store. Also the cashiers were very nice 🙂
Wow, the bloom is really off the rose already. I just witnessed horrible customer service towards an elderly gentleman who wanted to return a Lidl brand item without his receipt. The cashier and Assistant Manager, Edwina, treated him extremely poorly. Then I had both of them treat me just as poorly when I asked to check for an item. They refused to check on an item I asked about and when I went to check myself the Assistant Manager took ALL my items back. There are too many stores in the area to have them treat their customers this way.
1.Customer service is bad they are rude expect 2 cashiers. 2.I can never find anything I want.3.they always keep 2 registers open.4.there is one cashier that was rude and kept saying if I speak English because I was with my mom that doesn’t speak English
Good staffs.Short in customer service.
First time visiting and I got so surprised how it looks like. Very clean, organized, fresh fruits and vegetables. The bakery is full of goodies! They also sell plants and flowers.Im glad it opened at my area and now I can open do my groceries there!
Had the creepiest thing happen to me while shopping in this Lidl, a Hispanic guy decided to follow me from the time I walked in until I finally realized that he was actually following me and threatened to mace him then after that I didnt see him anymore. Ladies be extra
Excellent prices and discounts. Needs more product variety, but the quality is very good!!
Nice prices. Meats and produce looks delicious
Ok. Got the last bunch of cilantro
My experience is the store was clean. Cashier were courteous.
Excellent bread, croissant, vegetables, fruits at very reasonable prices. Best chocolate ( milk or dark). Good size . Not crowded.Need more maintenance .Other Lidl are more tidy
Amazing products offered! Great selection! Wish it had been a planned visit and I had a way to keep cold and frozen things until I drove home.
Great prices and selections. Food, household items, even a few clothing articles.- a different shopping experience.
Had everything I wanted. Love the variety. Large and bright store. This mightvreplace Aldis for me.
I love this store and its prices
Good prices. Most areblower than the big grocery stores. Food quality is just as good too.
Love the place, it has everything I need; and the prices are the lowest
Very cheap affodable good items. Their bakery is awsomely yummy yummy
I have heard about this store, so I decided to check it out. I got very surprised to see the inside, many products, clean isles, spacious, fresh products, great prices. Cashiers are very polite. Its a little similar to Aldis store, but much better, the carts are free not like Aldi that you need to pay for it.I will recommend this store to everyone!
The store price is low and they have fresh produce. The store clean brand new store..the cashier line moves Quickly even when they are busy.
Great new Lidl location, weve been waiting for this for a while since Shoppers left early 2020. Great prices and quality, giveaways and discounts thanks to the grand opening. Coupon on printed with the receipt and even more discounts in the app! Nice to have a grocer other than that tiny Aldi here in Takoma Park 🤗
Excellent chose of fruits and meats
It was just fine! Competitive pricing, clean store, large selection, fast lines.
I was so excited for this store to open but it has been so disappointing (compared to my experience at the College Park location). This morning at 8am, the floor was covered in pallets and boxes. I understand that the employees need to stock things and do their jobs but it prevented many paths to the items and forced you to get very close (not socially distant) to the employees in the store. Furthermore, there was an employee near the register who was unpacking items with his mask pulled down to his chin. After going to the checkout, he was my cashier who had by then put his mask over his mouth and sort of over his nose. Also, even though I scanned the app that included the coupons for most of the things I bought, I realized that these discounts were not included on my receipt even though I saw them being tallied on the monitor. I only noticed this on my receipt after rushing out of the store (away from my previously mask-less cashier), which increased my bill over $10. I am rethinking future shopping trips to this store because of the blatant lack of regard for masking rules by an employee as well as the misleading app that made me spend more than I was intending.
3 stars is for a clean store. Lit up nicely. The prices are confusing, they say different prices for the same item and some things are way overpriced in there. Some items are not available.
The bakery was really good. The selection same as Aldi. Customer Service better than Aldis, or pretty much anywhere in the Area. I did buy some scallops that tuned out to be spoiled. So Ill probably go back for the bakery.
I like the one on Rte. 1 because its larger than the one on New Hampshire Avenue.
Excellent grocery store. Wonderful organic options and a variety of fruits and vegetables. I would highly recommend it over Shoppers.
Store looks nice clean and fresh produce great store to shop at...
Very very bad Customer service the cashier was very rude
Horrible grocery store. Everything is off brand, their stock is extremely limited, and they flat out do not sell many essential household products. This place is disappointing. Shoppers used the same space and easily had 3x more stock and 5x more variety. They use so much space sell stuff like shoes, but not fill their 12 aisles with trusted brands. Go literally anywhere else, I hope this place closes down quickly so a real store can take its place.
I shopped here 3 times and every time there are long lines with only single cashier open. Poor layout design, unless you like random TJ Max junk littered throughout your grocery store. Store is supposed to open at 8am...I left at 8:15 as store was still not open and long line formed to enter the store. Seems poorly managed.
Nice prices, specially for vegetables and fruit. I dont give 5 stars because I missed items you may find at other supermarkets.
Clean store, floor plan is good and the staff I saw was friendly. It was my first visit to this store and I would shop here again.
Very good prices ❤
Decent prices (Aldi better though), but this location is always short on stock. I was there early Sunday morning and couldnt find half of the items on my list.
No hand cleaner nothing to wipe the karts off with and the bathrooms disgusting
Extremely clean and reasonably priced grocery store.
The store is new that’s why it’s nice and clean. But they need to hire more people. Long lines are terrible.
Great store.
I would give 5 stars, but they really need more cashier, you can stay 30 min on the line just to buy a bottle of water
It is spacious and clean. Will visit again.
I went to this store on opening day 12/9 and I just refuse to wait in a line to go into a store that sells off- brand food. I will continue to shop at the Giant on Riggs road, respectfully
Very nice people and great prices.Im still in shock!
It was my first time at lidls and the store was very clean, prices are low, they had a varieties of different items, name brand and their brand,, I was like a little girl at a candy store, I will come back and tell people about the new grocery store in Takoma Park Md.
Nothing on the shelf they do not restock the items that is needed.
Its wasnt good at all one cashier for twenty costumes.
Excellent prices
Long lines constantly backed up
Clean, bright and reasonable pricr
Lidl was a little disappointing. The produce section was not up to snuff as far as having basic items like scallions for instance. The bathrooms are marked male/female so I wound up using one of two stalls with a man. There was only one cashier for 26 people standing in line. They need to take Aldi customer service classes.
The store is very clean, people are helpful, always good and freshproducts
Excited to have a location closer to DC, sad that they dont have a wine section!
Great prices and never a wait.
Clean and outstanding prices
I dont know for others for me l dont like this store
The store has not been open long and the fruit is spoiled quite often. They also, mop and leave the floor wet, without wet floor signs; the two times I have visited the store.
Its fantastic
Good store, great prices.
Good place
Love it.
I love it
Great variety!!!!& great on the picketbook!!
Cheap and cleaned
Beautiful. Very well organized. Much larger than in Italy and much, much better organized. I really bought everything as seen from the castle and I only spent $ 230. The shopping will last me a month or more and there are good quality products. The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking is very large and free. The only drawback is the traffic to get there. But you cant have it all. I will absolutely be back
