Its a good store for finding African, Latino, and Carribean foods and spices not found in the major chains. Some Asian stuff too but there isnt a big population in the area so its limited in related items Id say. Has the local market vibe to it and stays well stocked. Dont expect for fancy or refined think ethnic markets not American farmers market.

I have been shopping here for several years without any issue with their products.Recently, I bought these flour balls that is dip fried, chin-chin, it gave me an upset stomach after I ate it. Then I tried to smell it and it smelled pungent, definitely not a smell of somewhat is edible. I discarded the 3 packs. I went to the store and notified the manger of the specific brand.Then, I bought this dried vegetable. A week after I opened it to cook it, it smelled like engine oil or whatever that is. I went to the store today and showed the owner and his assistant. The owner said they will only refund with a receipt and itsa 3 day return policy...Excuse me, you just smelled that item in its bag ! I told him I have the card I used to purchase the item and he said their systems are not connected. What was shocking is that when I reminded him of the issue with the other item that made me sick, he said they sell so many of them and they have had no complaints. So the previous report was totally ignored as will this one. Yet, I see another review here of someone who has had the same issue. Really, this must not be serious. Blatantly being unaccountable of items sold at your store is appaling for someone in such business. So he remember the previous issue, they have cameras to see that I was at the store but the owner refused to take back the an item when he could have issued a refund and get back to the vendor.I will start by disputing the charges with my credit card company, contact the vendor (store manager/owner) responsibility and send a sample of this to a health agency. It is scary and unacceptable to not take issues that affect peoples health seriously when you run a store that carries these items.This store has to be constantly checked because the owner does not want to take responsibility of the items they sell and work with their vendors to ensure their products meet all health quality checks. This is ridiculous and frightening.

Ill be very surprised if there is no price fixing going on at this shop. They are very expensive compared to the others. For example, they sell a single jar of honey for $25! Its the Costco brand which means that they probably got it there. Costco sells it for way less. You can get that same bottle at other local stores for less than $10. I think they are capitalizing on the fact that most immigrants dont ask questions and just buy stuff no matter the asking price. This is a total rip off.

I bought the roasted coconut and I had food poisoning. The label said it was made in Cameroon. I threw up non stop after eating it. Be aware of those imported African products!!!!

Love this place. Think of an international market. I come here for my Caribbean foods and seasonings. They also sell apetamin. I can always find parking so I love that and the staff is friendly!!

Love this place,they sell fresh meats and produce etc....so I like to buy fresh red snapper and raw shrimp 🍤 at this store,they clean it right in front of you and you leave that store very pleased!

The only reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 stars, was because some of the items didnt have prices on them! I love going to this market because they carry things that I dont see in other markets.Its not a huge market but they carry a lot of unique items that I was willing to give a try, like garlic paste and ginger paste. They had limes 5 for $1.00. Then the had my Carbolic soap. That was my main reason for going here on this visit.I am not a soda drinker, but they had all the Rock Creek flavors (Grape, Strawberry, Lime, Peach, and Fruit Punch) I would have brought 2 each just for summer fun! But that would have been too much for me to carry.My only complaint is the narrow parking lot in that strip mall. Other than that it is a good place to check out!

This place is valuable because of the international items it offers. Its been a staple in the West Indian community for as long as I can remember and Im a native Washingtonian. The prices are reasonable.

I usually have a good experience at this market. Please do not buy items that your cannot return in 3 days. I live an hour away and bought 2 mangoes at 1.79 each and both no good. Now i just lost my money since you have 3 days to take the item back. I could rate them lower but this is one incident. Do not buy if your not close by yo return

This store has been a staple in my life ever since I can remember. I commend them for lasting so long. Nice place to get Jamaican foods, theyll cut the meats up right in front of you. A bit expensive though, staff could be more courteous.

Its been years since ive been to this store because Shoppers sells most of it at better prices. It was disappointing to see what it became. Dont go in the store if u dont have to. Staff are extremely rude. Especially cashier in the blue shirt wish i was able to catch his name but i was so irritated by his blatant rudeness.Its NOT COVID prepared and disorganized. Next Ill be going to the Caribbean market next door this was some foolishness.

I like Red Apple Farmers Market because I am able to get everything I need there and their price is very good.

I experienced unprofessional conduct of one of the cashiers who was publicly chiding another employee who apparently was not on time.She proceeded to humiliate the poor employee on Thanksgiving eve in front of many customers. When I brought it to her attention, the cashier kept ignoring me. Then I asked to speak to the manager who did not even approach the cashier. We are a multiracial community and stereotyping someone is not OK.If the employee was wrong, it was incumbent on the cashier supervisor to take the matter up privately.If this conduct happens in public, who knows what happens behind the scenes? I would not support such a business. They continue to overcharge for plastic bags. From 25 cents a bag they now charge 15 cents a bag. It is downright gouging as they do not offer 5 cents for bags like other stores do.

They have all your African foods and Caribbean products. Love this place

Red Apple Farmers Market has a lot of imported goods from different places in Africa, from meat, fish, sauce ingredients, drinks you can only find locally in some countries; they have various dried leaves, roots, smoked chicken & turkey, goat, cow meat and pig meat, as well. In short, its a great place to shop international/ethnic food.

Wow, the service was excellent and fast...Ive been buying grocery from red apple for the past 14yrs but todays services was different because I bought a lot of grocery and for the first time, a nice gentleman helped take my grocery to my car. I just wished I had a tip for him..the food stuff here is always fresh...

Lots of good shopping however the store is charging 20 cents for bags and blaming the county. Has Montgomery county changed their bag policy? The last I look it was 5 cents a bag.

Very poor customer service. I know they might not be paid well but some modesty is rewarding. If u enter in there be careful who is packing your bags or receiveing your payment. They might want to transfer their mood to you.

First place where the Spanish women were nice and very help full the store is clean.

Great little hole in the wall ethnic market. I has all your west african needs. We come here for the salt/sugar free peanut butter for guniean dishes. Smells just like a good ethnic market should.

My go to spot for meat and other ingredientsUpdated 4/14/2019 so I had a visa card with my name on it and the cashier refused it even after asking for my ID. My name is on the visa card just for her to point at her stupid refusal to accept suspicious currency. HOW IS IS SUSPICIOUS WITH MY DAMN NAME ON IT? ?? the nerve of the manager to first say they cannot accept a gift card which it is not, then finally used his head and saw my name is on it. I WILL NOT SHOP AT THIS PLACE Again. Horrible customer service at the register and from the manager.

Red Apple is the worst place to come a shop. They have the WORST customer service. The entire staff is extremely rude and racist. Their clients are mostly Africans like myself and they treat us like trash. I will never come back here again.
