My experience with aamco was horrible, the customer service was rude with one individual ( Murray) the mechanic that worked on my car ( Thomas) was cool, personable and done a good job. Thank God for that. However, I would never take my car to that particular location ever again. I give one star just for the mechanic.

This place did a awesome job on my transmission. The only thing I wish they told me that the alternator was screeching and didnt tell me that it needed to be replaced but other than that they did a great job

So today 10/09/20 I took my car to the AAMCO shop so they can change the transmission fluid and filter so I paid and I left thinking everything was done I had a appointment at the Ford at 1:00 so when I get there I tell the guy I just did the transmission fluid and filter in the morning he looks at me and says and that was all done today Im like yeah he says impossible that would take all day because the filter is inside the transmission and it needs to be pulled down to be change and show me a diagram. So I went back and I claimed the situation( the guy) not mentioning name told me he was sorry and gave me part of my money back I was grateful but now thinking about the situation left me wondering did they actually put in the new fluid you see this is why mechanic shops sometimes are not trusted and it seems like the good place to go so I could do Future works on my car but to sit there before I leave and look at me and tell me that everything was done filter kit with the fluid and charge me almost $300 for a job that now I feel that was not done I sell had to pay $149 for the fluid change for something now I think wasnt done all I can say is be careful always ask to see the parts that they took out and the new ones theyre putting in and if you can look at what theyre doing better. N for management there I wish yall would respect more the clients and understand that we have to work hard for the money we make the same way yall work just be honest good clients will appreciate it.

Today, I went with a pickup truck f 150 with 157 thousand miles, I had changed the transmission oil by myself, and the transmission was slipping, with a message on the board that this should be repaired, I went with them, looking for real help because I saw in your web site this ......LOCAL & TRUSTEDAt AAMCO North Tampa, FL, our technicians are skilled specialists who use their expertise and top-notch diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot, so that you save time and money..... In my case, the technicians used a huge computer to make the diagnosis, also the specialists from that workshop met for get the diagnosis, it was that the transmission had been completely damaged, that it should be disassembled and rebuilt, which cost $400.00 to disassemble and $400.00 more to mount it again plus the additional costs of parts and others, added to that, a week in the workshop, well that mean a lot more lost money because thats my work truck, at this time they were ready to start doing the financing papers and start collecting the money. So I decided to call a friend from Miami, he is a mechanic looking for a second opinion, he suggested that I would check again the filter, maybe it was incorrectly adjusted, I went home I put the car on the ramp and in 30 minutes later the car was 100% repaired. Nothing more than to tell about this, the rest I will leave in to the imagination of whoever reads this, and suggest that before going to that place always seek a second opinion and also do not believe the ad that this company has in its presentation. I wish I could give this place no stars at all! It should be called Scamco I bring my jeep in i had been told by the owner SAM it needed a transmission rebuild would cost 1500 to 2000 $ it would take 3 days to complete I drop it off Monday morning I give them till Friday called and they say it will be Monday or Tuesday before it will be ready . I very strongly complain its a miracle its ready before they close Friday. But get my vehicle its not fixed and in worse shape than before I took it there .Sam the owner asked me if my check engine light was on when I brought it (no it was not ) We owe you a O2 sensor we broke yours .so when I let them know transmission is not fixed a couple days later they say bring it back when you can so I do when I can be without my car . They say there is nothing wrong with it because there is no code for transmission only for O2 sensor ( that they broke and was supposed to fix) and when I was told it needed a rebuild on transmission was no code then either . So they say if it gets worse bring it back . So now transmission is doing the same thing it was when I took it in for the rebuild and now something new . Then would not shift out of first gear took it back they have it for another week get it back its doing samething it was when I took it in the first time plus the new thing and they fixed the O2 sensor after strong complaint but it runs worse now than the day I took it in . They always want to keep the car I cant go without my car this is why I paid them 2300$ to fix it but still Is not fixed forgot to mention that they left a bolt off my transmission where it mounted to the motor.. I asked for a refund the guy tells me Oh THATS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN..So I will be up in front of their business on Florida ave in Tampa picketing this business on Saturday and until this matter Is taken care of ...PLEASE DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE !!!!!!

My son had transmission trouble with a 2012 BMW and we got referred to a garage who was near his work. Their work was excellent, they were busy, they were good people. They were fair to us in their pricing. I hope no more trouble on the car like that, but I have their card and I would go back.I felt that we were treated well.The section of Tampa was a little shady for me.I would still go back.The car has been perfect ever since!Thank you very much guys!

Be very Leary of taking your car here. Spoke to Murray He charged fees without confirming with you first. I only wanted my car diagnosed. I received a Free Courtesy check...at this point. I was never called or told the state of the car. I was charged $115 diagnosis fee by this time the diagnosis is not Free any more. Charged $200 for a battery on a car they KNEW was going to cost over $6000 to repair. They should not have put a $200 battery in a car they knew would be trashed ! This is NOT the way to do Business. I dont mind the $115 charge for the diagnosis fee but $200 battery was NOT authorized. for $6000 I can a descent new car. People dont spend your money here. !

RIP OFF!! GET A 2ND OPINION!! RIP OFF!!Prior to having my sons car towed to this location, I spoke with Murray, advised him of my concerns and he advised me theyd inspect the car and get back with me. So after a few days, he called and told me the car needed a transmission and its best to get a rebuilt one, which would be $2600 including removal, replacing, parts and labor. So my husband called the following day and was told the same thing, this time Murray used mechanical verbiage. So my husband trusted Murray and told me to move forward due to our son needing to get back and forth. Not to mention running our credit and getting approved for a loan. After making a few calls for some opinions, I was quoted a much cheaper price for the same service. After contacting Murray a few days later, he advised me the transmission was already removed but no work was done yet and I needed to pay $450 for that service. I had the car towed, with the transmission in the trunk and paid the said fee. The new repair facility purchased a rebuilt transmission and placed it the car for more money, as per Murray. After that was done the car wouldnt move, which was the original complaint when I contacted Aamco and its clearly documented on my paperwork. So another diagnostic test was done and I was advised a transmission was never needed but it was actually the gas throttle. After paying more money to get the actual problem fixed, we drove away after spending thousands of dollar .I contacted Murray, via telephone, demanding an explanation of the blatant lie he told my husband and myself and wanted to speak with the owner. After not getting a return call, I returned to the shop to be advised the owner wasnt available, which is what I was told several times prior and he had given Sam the message.I will be contacting the BBB and the Clerk of Court if needed.

The workmanship was fine and the SUV is still running, thanks guys. However Im going to strip and repaint the hood myself as I cant afford the $558.00 dollars that the estimate came up with to fix my hoods apperance.

I went to this business they were rude to me and yelling. When I had to drop off my car because of a faulty part they installed. When I called on Saturday to see if my car was ready guess what I was spoke to like like scum. Oh! I paid 4600.

My friend went to this place cause she trusted the owner of this company. When I took her to get her vehicle they left her window down and her car was flooded w/water and grease everywhere and the water oxidized her whole door panel and then they wanted to charge her 225 $ told her it would be 400$ job we Google part and its only 20. Come on they messed a single mothers. Car up and then wanted to take her savings so she has nothing... Great Company

Brought my 1998 truck to these guys it cost me 3,200 to rebuild my transmission and it was well worth it. My truck is operating perfect, thanks to the guys at this shop.

The transmission went out in my 97 4runner so I brought her in for them to look at. They took the time to drive the vehicle and give her a free inspection. I left her in their hands and they did not disappoint This Aamco went out of their way to get me what I needed and was able to work with me financially. The Truck has never run better and I am 100% satisfied with the care they showed to me and my vehicle. I will say the only drawback is the sites location does offer limited parking but other than that they will take care of you. They’re good people!!!

They tried to charge me three times the price of a job that I got done locally for $300 including parts they wanted $5 for the parts 360 for labor what a rip off

The waiting room and bathrooms were very nice and clean. Everyone I talked to was very nice. I took my truck there and about 30 minutes later they found the problem with my truck. They had her fixed and ready the next day running great! I will go back to them.

Had to go back 4 times and still couldnt get the problem fixed. Moved to GA and the same thing happened until they finally realized that the pump that was being put in wouldnt work with my odyssey. Nice guys but not super knowledgable.

These guys have no sense of respect for others people time. My husband dropped his car off and specifically asked could it be looked at the next day as he needs his vehicle for work and was told yes. He also told them to let him know if they couldnt early in the day as he would take it somewhere else. Then the next day he called to check as no one called him and was told the specialist called in so he had to wait to the next day. The next day comes around and they cant figure out what is wrong so they tell him they have to run a diagnostic test for $200. What a rip off who charges that much. We took my 2008 Honda here after getting a code for the transmission from the OBD2 reader. We were assured that they would do a free diagnostic. They called us an said they could not do anything without pulling the transmission and that would be $500.00 but that amount would come off the cost of the repair. We picked the car up without having them do anything. When my husband picked up car they stated they are sure they knew what was wrong without doing anything and repairs would be $1500.00. He said no. They called the next day and the price went down to $1300.00. We took my car to Moye Transmissions on N. 41 and it was a sensor and with fluid change paid around $340.00 out the door. AAMCO IS A RIP OFF.....DO NOT LET REPAIR YOUR CAR

Was tricked by Mark, he wouldnt give me an estimate he said they had to take apart my transmission to find out exactly the problem but then after it was taken apart told me I needed a compete rebuild and it would cost me $2500. I drive a 2000 GMC SIERRA it has 200,000 miles so who isnt going to recommend a rebuild? If thats the case I should be able to be quoted an estimate without taking it apart! To get my truck out of there I had to pay for labor that I shouldnt have had to. I was never told of any charges to do that either if I had been I wouldve said NO! I CANT AFFORD TO DO THAT! They also said that by giving my birthdate gives my approval to do stuff to my truck! Since when do you get charged for work that you didnt sign your approval for? There ease no paper or copy of anything given to me showing me anything about charges or labor or anything. Big rip off!!! Ive been in retail sales for many years and Ive never been treated so poorly. Oh and during the ordeal I supposedly got a call from the owner to discuss not charging me the labor to give me my estimate and as I begin to say my side mark suddenly cuts me off and starts screaming at me and then says Hes the owner!!! So who is the really the owner huh? Mark, Sam???? TOTAL SCAMMERS AND MARK IS A TOTAL THEIVING LIAR!!!

Beware of this shop!!! This establishment does not stand behind their warranty. They improperly installed a transmission in my car and then charged me to fix their mistake. I currently have a complaint open with the Better Business Bureau about this matter.

My name is Steve Gottlieb, and this has been along time coming and well deserved. My wife and I were having issues with my 2008 Rogue and we stopped by at the AAmco in Tampa,fl..11612 N Florida Ave. We met a gentleman by the name of Charles Barbour the customer service manager. We were so happy and surprised how helpful and courtesy he was. Not only was he accurate, honest and helpful he told us that we had an ext Warranty on our vehicle. The reason it has been taken so long was because the Nissan dealership and Nissan was giving us issues and was not going to accent the ext warranty on the transmission. Finally after several months Nissan dealership finally took care of the issue, long story Nissan is another issue. Anyway, I would recommend anyone to see Charles Barbour Service Mgr. with AAMCO anytime and if we have any issues with either vehicles in the future, (including my Prius) we will be back

So after many months of no car, AAMCO Corprate stepped in found another AAMCO dealer to do the work, His shop is on North Florida Ave and he fixed my car which I picked it up today !! A big Thank You to Sam and all his amazing staff for getting me back in the drivers seat.

IM 100% DISSATISFIED WITH THIS SHOP. They charged me $2100 to rebuild an axle, IT BROKE AFTER 3000 MILES IN WARRENTY. AAMCO thenasked ME to PAY FOR PARTS to rebuild it again. $600 later. Its done. IT BROKE AGAIN AFTER ANOTHER 13050 MILES. Perfectly just out of their warrenty. BEWARE!!!!!!!! SAM HOWARD AND MARK are all CROOKED mechanics!!!!!!! BEWARE. My brakes went out on me, took it to this aamco. they stole $1200 claiming i need 2 rotors, brake pads and brake fuel line replaced when they KNEW my master cylinder was failing but refused to inform me or even put it on the list of parts that needed to be fixed, long story short these mechanics failed to diagnose my car correctly and 2 months later my brakes failed on me again.$1200 robbed from me.

Ive had numerous ppl wrk on my air conditioning, with several failed attempts to fix. I finally decided to go to aamco. When arriving there, I had to drop my car off. They called me within a few hrs to let me know the problem and how much it would be to fix. Long story short bye next day they called me, to let me know that my car was finished and ready to pick up. Im 1000% satisfied with the job and Ac is ice cold. Thanks aamco team.

Wow! What a great bunch of people! I am very impressed that they took my truck in on a Saturday morning at 9am and I had her back around 11am. They are honest, good people that I would recommend my 85 year old mother-in-law to. I was worried that my ball joints or something like that was causing this clunking noise but they found it was just a couple of bushings that went bad and did not try to gouge me. I also noticed other customers leaving this Aamco happy - seemed like regulars that have been going to this Aamco for a while now. Well, Ill definitely be going to them again!
