Never have I been treated so rudely and with such disrespect as I just was at this furniture store. Friday @1:30 august 27 2021 . Gelco needs to take a good hard look at who they employ to represent their establishment. If it was the owner shame on him .

Avoid this place at all costs along with Seaside Furniture who also owns Gelco. I purchased outdoor chairs and tables from them ONLY because the salesmen told us that the items were all in stock at the Hooper Ave location which is 2 mins from my house and I would be picking up and transporting them myself in several trips using my own vehicle. As soon as he took payment from me, the items magically were not there and were actually at the Seaside store by the bridge on Rt 37 in Toms River.I get to the Seaside store (which is actually in Toms River on Rt 37) and was ignored for 5 mins or so and finally an older woman in her 60s asked if she could help me. I showed her my receipt and slips given to me from Gelco and told her I was there to pick up my items. She looked at the paperwork and nastily asked me who sold this to me and that she couldn’t help me. I explained to her that the gentleman at the Hooper Ave location just 15 mins ago or so sold them to me and he said that the items were here. She told me that the Hooper Ave location should not have sold them to me.She said I would have to come back tomorrow and seemed angry that I was wasting her time as well as disinterested in helping a paying customer. A man in his 60s with a slicked back pony tail with a heavy foreign accent came over to get involved in the fiasco. He also looked at the paperwork and asked me why did the salesman at Hooper Ave sell me those items. I told him probably because that’s his job. The slicked back hair gentleman walked me to the back corner and told me he had the chairs here but can’t give them all to me today and can only give me one or two and I’d have to come back tomorrow or another day for the rest of my items. He told me that there was nobody here to help him.I told him that was unacceptable and if he would like as a courtesy, since I was being heavily inconvenienced, they could deliver the items to me at no charge since I just spent over $2,000 for items that nobody wants to give me. He said he couldn’t do that and if he did deliver them he would have to charge me a fee and that the delivery also would not be for several weeks if that. He also mentioned something about a Brick store which I couldnt decipher from his sinister accent as well as also repeatedly called me “ dude “. I left and took my paperwork back to Gelco on Hooper and had the transaction voided.Note: Once home, I found the same items on Amazon and actually saved over $500. Unfortunately I had to give my money to Jeff Bozos who is a bigger crook than Gelco and Seaside Furniture but at least I will get my stuff and Jeff Bozos didnt talk down to me.

Love Gelco furniture. Staff goes beyond any other furniture store I have shopped at. Quality A+. A very friendly atmosphere and excellent prices. A very helpful staff for the indecisive person ....like me.Been shopping there for years. Very happy customer. Highly recommend you check them out.

Very disappointed in my experience with Gelco this time around. We have ordered from them in the past without issue, but this last go around has been a mess. We ordered a new platform bed, special order in December. We were told it should be here in Mid-January. Every time we called to check we got a different answer as to the arrival date. It finally arrived in March. Low and behold, the platform was shoddy and literally cracked after I leaned on it. Really? for 1k I think a bed should be able to handle me pressing my hand on it. I called to get it addressed and instead of dealing it with it themselves, we were told to call a person in Toms River who then told us to call the distributor/manufacturer? in Seaside. It took days to get a response. Someone finally came to look at the bed and told us he would have to talk it over with the overlords. Still not fixed....everyone is uncommunicative and passing the buck. Worst customer service experience ever. We would have appreciated someone at Gelco making the calls to get this done, but I guess that is not included in the price tag. We will never buy furniture with Gelco again.

My husband and I needed an accent cabinet for the dining room that had lots of storage and we looked everywhere. We decided to stop into the Toms River Gelco 30 minutes before closing on a Friday night to see if they might have something. We were greeted warmly by Glen, who helped us get acquainted with what cabinet options they offered, which was hugely helpful given how cavernous the store is. We fell in love with a green, 6-door rustic wood cabinet and asked Glen if we could buy the floor model and how quickly we could get it delivered. Karen, the woman who schedules all deliveries (and is very pleasant btw), wouldnt be in until Monday but Glen said hed do everything he could to get it to us within 10 days given it was a floor model and we lived less than 5 miles away. We had it by Tuesday. Glen was true to his word, a really nice guy, the piece arrived and its GORGEOUS and we cant say enough about our experience. Gelco might not be the hippest brand name out there, but it has a solid variety of options at budget-friendly prices with nice folks like Glen and Karen, and thats fine by us!

The furniture is a bit more expensive than Ikea but thats because the furniture at Gelco is made of real wood! Solid stuff! They have a front area where they sell the normal furniture and in the back is the area that you can buy stuff that isnt painted or finished so you can do it yourself. You can also pay them to pay or stain it if you want, but getting it to do yourself can save a couple dollars.If you are looking for real furniture this is the place to go. It can be a bit more money than value city but its because they dont use particle board here. However, they do have some things on clearance that was at a competitive price so I would check it out if in the market for furniture.

Both Seaside Furniture and Gelco are owned by the same owner. The staff is friendly and the furniture is nice. The only downfall is the length for delivery. If you want your item within a week, even two, you will need to pick it up on your own, otherwise it is a 3+ month wait. When they say on or before 99 day delivery, they mean it to the day. Also, there is a No Refund Policy, you get store credit. Which is okay, if you find something else to purchase and dont mind the wait for delivery.

Had to refurnish the entire house after Sandy destroyed our home, at first the sales person was nice with us, after I went back to the store a few times to make sure the measurements were correct, he became very nasty with me. I spent over $6700.00, and was told not to come back AFTER I had placed the order. This was in Toms River Store. Then when I called the store the salesman wouldnt take my call. I called the owner he was more nastier then the salesman. I had to call the ocean township I explained to the man what took place he had to pull my order and set up the delivery place. I advise anyone. Beware of the poor customer service horrible experience NEVER EVER WILL I BUY ANYTHING EVER AGAIN FROM THIS CREEP. OH by the way the man that owns these stores has the same attitude.

Very disapointed with the furniture we purchased. We cant put anything on the end tables because it scratches, and dents too easily. If you even look at this furniture the wrong way it dents and scratches! We thought we were paying for quality, but it turns out we did not.

The furniture from Gelco is overpriced. They are making a hefty profit. I recently ordered outdoor furniture from Gelco. Each chair (I ordered 6) was priced $75 more than offered by their competitor. This is for the exact same manufacturer. When I brought this to the attention of the manager, I was given absolutely no satisfaction. I was told that it was impossible that their competitor was a dealer of Breezesta which basically was an accusation that I was lying. Ive since received other items from Gelcos competitor. I believe that in good faith they could have met me in the middle with regard to their price gouging. I am very dissappointed and will never order from Gelco in the future. Do yourself a favor - BEFORE ordering anything, compare prices at Michaels Furniture in Brick - you will be AMAZED at how overpriced Gelco is. You can thank me later!
