This is a great store unless you need a mobility cart. They have very few ad even fully chargedthey never make it even 1 lap around the store.
Microwave has been broken for months some people would like a hot meal before work and can’t get anywhere else.
We worked with Torrie, the floral assistant leader, today for help with a wedding and she was the biggest lifesaver! She was amazing at helping us find exactly what we needed!
Been looking for chicken liver the past couple months to use for fishing. I also love battering and frying it as a tasty snack. It seemed like no one carried it anymore. Dillons, Walmart, even other grocers further away in Kansas City didnt have any. Weeks ago, I asked the girl in the meat/seafood department, and she said that they dont carry it. Bummer. Then, yesterday, I find a fully stocked liver section in the Heritage Farms poultry area. Instantly snapped one up and cant wait to use it this weekend!I usually find most of what I need here. The only thing that I havent seen in a long time are sheets of phyllo dough (I think made by Athena). I use it to make baklava on special occasions.
If I could give a zero, I would. The girl who helped me was great. However, the food was horrible. The shrimp fried rice was mushy like mashed potatoes. The teriyaki chicken was so laden with salt it was like someone just poured a tone of salt in it. PLEASE, get someone in that kitchen that knows how to cook chinese food. I paid just under $10 and had to throw it all away.
Quick reasonable prices friendly people prompt service
I grew up in Topeka, going to Dillons with my Mom. At that time, the Brookwood Dillons was the only one. They had a great bakery, everything baked in house.Produce always fresh, prices competitive and wide variety of brands for good selection. As I got older, I continued to shop at Dillons and remained a pretty loyal Dillons shopper. As years passed, I shopped different stores but the large majority of my shopping remained with Dillons. After the store at Belle and 21st closed and the store moved to the Fairlawn and 21st location, there were many positive changes. The bakery once again resumed baking most items, adding many items and updating items, became really busy having to make sure to order far in advance...quality was excellent. The Deli was fabulous, no longer chicken, chicken, chicken and Chinese. The deli had handmade to order sandwiches, dinner menus for each day of the week, mexican, pork chops, prime rib night, Italian, meat loaf, various veggies, potatoes, rice, etc. The Deli was always busy, lunch and dinner. You had to get there early to get dinner items as they sold out quickly...every night. The food was always fresh, never crusty and dried up. Chinese also fresh again and not mushy and nasty. Started having better selections in canned and frozen goods. Then, about 5 years ago, it all began going downhill. Now, there are hardly any onsite bakery items, its all frozen warehouse junk thats awful, looks and tastes cardboard like and artificial. Nasty. The deli is back to everything chicken and mushy Chinese. The store decided to downsize canned fruits and veggies, they took one long, double sided aisle of fruits and another for veggies, reduced each to one aisle half the length. Now, there are fewer food selections and fewer label selections forcing purchase of Kroger brand and their higher prices Private Selection brand. Little to no brand selection and many foods were sply stopped . Same reductions in frozen food section as well. The other problem is stocking, no matter the day or time, you will find many items throughout the store are not on the shelves, including the meat department, even in the half rotten produce department. Plan on always having to make time to go to another grocery store to get items Dillons was out of...I finally changed where I shopped and began going to Dillons for sale items only and then asking for rain checks when items were not stocked. I would suggest you do the same. It so sad, Dillons was a great store and a great steward for the community. For decades. Kroger is systematically destroying Dillons stores. So very sad.
Call about pickup order and 3 times the woman hung up on me
Would be nice if the people packing the to-go orders wouldnt put a pack of eggs on its side or put them in with other things... we had 2 broken eggs in our last order
Nathan was awesome and helped me find an item I was looking for!

Pros: store is clean, well stocked, aisles are wide, produce and meats are excellent.Cons: some in store items cannot be ordered for delivery; i have delivery to avoid the store. Whomever makes the bagels needs training- jalapeno/cheddar bagels have cheddar cheese on them; several times i have been told they forgot, not acceptable. Finally: front end employees are either really good (quick & efficient) or really bad. Why no cashiers before 7 a.m.?
This Dillons is of the large variety with many offerings you dont find at every location. There are more products, more choices, and more staff to assist you if necessary. Management vigilantly over sees checkout for smooth transactions during rush periods. That extra effort to maintain a frictionless experience trickles down to their staff. Speaking of staff, the ClickList associates are very attentive to your online shopping requests. They go above and beyond to communicate all aspects of your order. My experience put me at ease and was a pleasant addition to the convenience of shopping at Dillons from home.
Horrible manager response
I like the room compared to most stores
We ordered our groceries on line, Karen filled our order, she did such an awesome job. In a very timely manner.
I havent been here for a while, so i was impressed with the produce area. Everything looked so fresh with lots of choices and organic fruits and vegetables. Seen lots of vegetable ive never seen or heard of. I got a new cold slaw recipe using Kohlrabi from a older gentleman that was shopping there.
Fresh produce, flowers, coffee shop, deli, olive bar, and a bank, are a few of the options. Great value and service.
Great produce, meat dept and deli, fantastic, clean store. Low score is for 2 employees stocking bread and cussing up a storm including the f word many times w no regard to customers or children. Then cashier and another employee proceeded to have a private conversation the entire time we checked out. Next time Ill avoid the employees and it will be better
This is my preferred Dillons. Great fresh fruits and vegetables. Especially nice salad bar. Good deli, Chinese summer rolls are the best and the chefs will make your sushi to order. Nicely stocked natural foods area.
My Dillons is now chging a fee for cash. Come on! Groceries are sky high. You no longer even offer to take my groceries to the car and you dont take my mail. I used to adore Dillons and your one stop shop. Your customer service was amazing. Now I leave disappointed a lot of the time. And on a separate note, have you discontinued my large jar, private selection, mellow, corn and back bean salsa? If so, I may have no more reason to return. Seriously, your marketing strategy to act cheap is not working for you.
A great variety of everything is available. My go to store when I am looking for something, like a foreign ingredient. It can get pricey so check for sales first. This location is always clean and well organized.
This is definitely the best Dillons/Kroger I have ever been to. The cleanliness of the store is immaculate. The produce, meat and seafood are some of the best and freshest in the midwest. They have a huge selection of groceries as well as ethnic food sections and a health food section that includes keto choices. This is my new favorite grocery store.
Working with Kathy in the floral department was a wonderful experience. She knew what I was looking for, came back to the phone with options and price ranges and made sure they would be delivered today. She truly knows how to take care of her customers. THANK YOU!!
They always have everything we need, the staff take the time to get to know us by name. They talk to my children and play with them, they have a basket of free fruit which is huge hit with the kiddos!!!! Oh not to mention they have the very best STARBUCKS here! I will never go to any other one. I 💗 this place!!! Awesome sales, and everyday prices too.
Its like its MY store. I know where everything I need is and the always have the self checkout lanes open when I shop. I can get in and out if I want to. However, sometimes I just roam the aisles to see whats new. Thats my Dillons.
I guess this is the place to go if youre looking to get covid. Signs say masks required, but at least three customers today didnt bother. Employees showed no interest in addressing it when it was pointed out to them. If avoid until vaccines are available.
Great store always an isle open when ready to check out it is in a very convenient location, (on my way home from work) fresh veggies and fruits. And it is easy to find what Im looking for!!
This is my go to grocery spot. Everyone is helpful and nice. The Starbucks is great. Sometimes it takes me awhile to find what Im looking for but I dont mind.
This location is always stocked with all of the items I use regularly...and they carry many items that other stores dont. things like allergy free foods, a larger Mexican and Japanese selection, and their hot meal options are delicious! Between picking up prescriptions that are always ready when I need them, and buying grocery and personal care items, Dillons is my go to! Their fuel points add up fast so its never hard to save 10 cents per gallon of fuel at every fill up!
Drive through prescription pick up is a real bonus when I have my elderly Mom with me. Its just too much to take her into the store so the drive through is perfect.
Nice and organized grocery store. Employees are usually helpful and friendly. Quality of fruits and meat are better than Hy-vee. They need to place more cart return spots. They are very apart from each other, which causes people to usually just leave the cart by the parking lot, sometimes causing carts to hit the cars.
I use this store mainly for their salad bar which is the best for any Dillons store in Topeka. The salad bar line goes quickly at the noon hour. If I need something afterwards, the front grocery lines are well staffed. The store is still fairly new and is clean and well stocked. No negatives.
Probably the best Dillons in town. Good location. No panhandlers asking you for money outside. The store is organized in a way that makes it easy to find things.
Other than the fact that I left my phone in the cart, when I left inside, then had to go back in, and look for each of the small carts, to see if I could find said missing phone, it was a great visit. Found everything I needed. Throw in the panic attack, and all the weird looks I got, while checking out the carts, and it made for a real go home and hang your head kind of morning.
The individual store location that you go to in Kansas will determine the quality of the store and of the service that you receive. In general, its a fairly decent store chain. I would give them 2 1/2 stars, but the rating system wouldnt seem to let me rate it by half of a star so I chose to give it a 2 star rating based on how bad some of their stores are in Topeka, and because their produce from any store location doesnt seem to be as fresh or as top quality as other grocery stores I frequent.
Easy to locate items. Quick check out. Fuel same as most area stations, but .20 cents higher nearby Walmart, (Murphys)
Produce is always better here and in stock compared to competitors in Topeka. Theres Chinese or fried chicken for convenience. I just wish there was a Starbucks at every Dillons and more locations offered ClickList.
Best Flower shop and less expensive in town. Great Store as well.
I was trying this Dillons bakery for the first time today and they said that I was an hour and a half late for them to make me a dozen cupcakes for the next day.. I went ahead and called Hyvee and they were more than happy to do it.
Every time Ive been here they have a decent number of cashiers going so people get out quickly, things are stocked well, there are lots of options, staff that work the counters are helpful and usually pretty quick, and if you come at the right time you can find some great deals on fresh products (such as meat, cheese, and veggies) that need to be sold very quickly.
I dont know if its just this one particular store but the management seem to be doing everything to drive away customers. The latest is to charge a fee for every single cashback amount, even if its as low as a single dollar. Also, apparently, they will be getting rid of plastic bags entirely. They certainly havent asked my opinion about THAT decision. I actually prefer to use plastic bags, especially since I can use them for various things around the house.Like I said, this is only the latest in a series of terrible experiences. They always seem to be running out of different stuff from one visit to the next. They are always shifting stuff around on the shelves. An item that is in one location on one visit will on the next visit be on a different shelf (and several feet away). The employees are probably the worst aspect of the store. While some are certainly very well trained, other seem to have no brains at all, especially the baggers. Heavy cans loaded on top of delicate items like eggs and bread on one visit, bags with a single can in it on the next. The cashiers are barely any better, with some taking twenty minutes to ring up five items. Others can waste time a single customer, making the line at the register wait unnecessarily. One cashier there, Carrie V., has a neurotic obsession with explaining to every single darn customer about the fuel points, even with five or six customers waiting in line. Ive tried complaining about that in the online surveys that they provide for but so far no change (why have the surveys in the first place, in that case?).
Personally, based only on buying items (which is the only reason for shopping at a grocery store, in my opinion), this store might rate more like at three stars, maybe four. Im able to find the items that I want to purchase 99% of the time; the few times I had any problems, a very friendly employee was able to quickly help me.What limited this store to two stars was the way the company treats its employees, based on the conversations Ive had with multiple employees (several of whom are my friends). The pay tends to be extremely low, barely above minimum wage, and highly variable hours. Also, and more importantly I think, apparently the customers can treat the employees any way they darn well please, up to and including verbal abuse. And the managers seem willingly to allow such activity to occur without any attempt to defend the employee; it even seems to be corporate policy for the employee to receive such abuse without attempting to defend him/herself. (And I have personally witnessed several such incidents.)Thats probably the reason why theres such a high turnover in employees, especially with cashiers and baggers. The ones who have enough intelligence (and motivation) to do their job well, apparently realize that the job simply isnt worth it and move on, which leaves those who are apparently only after the paycheck rather than doing the job correctly. So, like any big business, Im willing to shop here if I happen to be nearby, but I definitely wont go out of my way to do so.
This Dillons offers: Starbucks coffee, Corefirst bank, customer service, Produce, Deli with a Bistro seating area, Meat and Seafood (both have a service counter as well), Dry Groceries, Frozen, Dairy, Natural/Organic choices, a Pharmacy, Housewares, Seasonal products and so much more! Its the best Dillons in town
Aaron and his team manage the store beautifully. This is by far the busiest one in town and they always help with a smile on their face.
Its always God when the cashiers serve you with a smile as if were close; the Dillons people treat you nice.
Actual fresh veggies, prices are decent Sales and fuel points make up for the price differences and some East coast favorites that are not available anywhere else locally i.e. Taylor ham, Birch Beer, Boars Head deli items etc. Are available at this store.
Clean store, employees are helpful, cashiers available and they open more lanes fast. Produce is very good and fresh.
Think they might be kind of bigots, or at least the lady that answered the customer service line was. Called to ask if they have Crema Mexicana, a sour cream substitute, because my husband is allergic to the real stuff for the same reason hes allergic to penicillin. She was like... We wouldnt have anything like THAT here. Try the Dillons on 29th and California. I looked it up and Walmart has it. Sad that so many people here in Topeka are like THAT.
Wonderful store wish we (Emporia) had one even close to this.
This happens to be one of my favorite Dillons stores in Topeka! The produce & meat dept. Are my favorites
I love Dillons on 21st and fairlane. The cashiers are so friendly and I found a ton of great sales today
Great service.
Great place to shop. Big selection and the staff are always friendly.
Well stocked. Big place. Helpful associates.
Nice well stocked stores with employees who are willing to help you with all of your questions. I always choose Dillons they have a clean store inside and outside including restrooms.
As usual dillons had what we needed at a good price and love those fuel points
This is my favorite Dillons
Good selection of mainstream products, need to offer more GMO free, organic products. Some of the employees are rude, at checkout, Deli and Starbucks or have no idea what they are supposed to do. Can be difficult to get assistance on the floor.
Always neat and organized.. love the smell of fresh baked goods.
Love DIllons. But went to do survey and to get the gas points it would not take my card numbers.
Lots of selection and workers are always nice. I choose this Dillions over other because the flow of groceries is nice, lots is items, and finally enough parking!
Good selection, however this bagger didnt do his job he just handed me the items instead of putting it in my cart and wait for my opinion..
Good supermarket with decent selection, I was able to find all that I needed to make sushi at home! The staff are very helpful and extremely polite, the butcher shop and fish market have good prices for fresh product.
There are NEVER enough baggers at the registers. Several times there has been only a single bagger for three or four check out lanes. If Im going to bag my own groceries time after time due to a lack of employees, I should be getting a discount. Add that to a continual running out of several items during each and ever visit (including Free Friday downloads), swearing and cursing by the employees throughout the store (including checkout), having cashiers and baggers who are more interested in playing around with their cellphones 24/7, it all adds up to an extremely unpleasant shopping experience. Not to mention those greedy scum stay open on Thanksgiving. I refuse to support any business that puts profit above family holiday time.
They carry alot of organic products I like. You can catch them on sell often. They keep expanding the organic section so I will keep going here for it.
This is a fully functioning grocery store, but does not seem quite as clean as most of the other locations in Topeka. Also, even when dry, the floors are slick enough to seem like a hazard.
Sooo busy all the time. Thats my only complaint. The selection and service are fantastic here. Pharmacy, deli, bakery and more!
Great place to shop. Always has what Im looking for. Quick lines.
I love going to Dillon I have a good time when I do go I love the staff bear and theyre very helpful I just love my Dillon
Friendly service....once I bought corn still on the cob that was moldy so i returned it no problem besides an extra trip
I am highly disappointed in their produce section. I dont know how they can place old vegetables out and charge full prices. They do have decent prices on everything else though.
I love this Dillons! The team is great, prices decent, store overall clean.
The cashier was totally RUDE! She didnt like the UGLY Jayhawk on my ball cap. She HATED our basketball coach (Bill Self). He didnt require any standards for his players. Coach Snyder wouldve driven players like that to jail. The new football coach at KU was fired from his previous job and she really liked the new K State football coach. This was totally unprovoked. I personally do not plan to EVER shop at the Fairlawn Dillons.
Usually come here for a good deal on beef product.
Decided to shop at Dillons today. It was our first time usually we just go to Walmart. We were blown away! Everything is so clean and organized! We didnt have to back track to isles. We got to the register and before we knew it we were in and out in under 5 minutes! The cashier and bagger were so friendly and polite! We spent less money and got more then we usually would shopping at Walmart. This definitely will be my go to store now! Thank you!
The organic food has been integrated throughout the store, which gets me to shop more than the health food section and the perimeter of the store. However, it might be a good way for mainstream shoppers to take notice of value in ingredients and sometimes prices, too.
I love going to Dillons the fruits and vegetables are fresh
Sometimes i will pass other Dillions to go to this one more selection and very clean
Every body was there, but people were kind and thoughtful.
I love Dillons...prices are great, people are friendly.
Ridiculously overpriced and not enough cashiers. Also, when i used the self checkout ir stated on the card reader that my credit card was approved but it stated that help was on the way and that I had placed unscaled item in bag..which I didnt and person handling the self checkouts was a mormon, rude unfriendly. Will not go back...thank goodness only visiting from out of town. Ill be shopping at Hyvees or Aldis in the future.
A very nice place to go people are nice when u come in and when u leave thats the place to go.
There are a couple things I like about this store: Lots of variety in items available for sale, plus many helpful, friendly employees. Unfortunately, this doesnt even begin to balance everything wrong. To wit:First off, this place tries to be a mini-Walmart. Flowers, cards, several aisles of pots, pans, etc., pretty much everything except the kitchen sink. Sorry, but whatever happened to grocery stores selling groceries? Then there is their ridiculous pricing methods, especially the buy x, save $y sales. Each item is one price without a card, another price with a card, a third price if bought in a certain quantity, a fourth price if bought with other items. Not even Walmart is this idiotic. The quality of the employees varies wildly. Some, like in the pharmacy and the meat counter, are very good and efficient. However, the main problem is with the cashiers and sackers. A few are quite good at their jobs; able to get customers in and out quickly. Others dont seem to have the brains to do their jobs correctly. Certain cashiers go slower than slower than molasses in January ringing up groceries and God forbid the person in line has a lot of produce, you might die of old age before you get out. The baggers are just as unpredictable. Some can do their jobs excellently, other seem to not be able to use their brains at all, putting only a single can in a bag or putting the bread in the bottom of the card. The parking lot is a complete mess, with people parking all over the place (not in a parking space), including directly in front of the car return corrals, and the management doing absolutely nothing about it. In fact, every spring they actually set up a garden center on part of the parking lot, naturally reducing the number of spaces available for the customers use.
This is our favorite Dillons. They always have what we need and we save money. A bonus is the fuel points!
This DIllons is an older model of their stores, but its in a decent shopping center and contains a Dillons Starbucks inside.
Decent. They always move items to new areas all the time so cant memorize where items are.
Its a good food store to save and save on fuel points when you get their fuel point card. You also save on food with that card
And they had so many people who stepped up and opened their lanes so I would give them a 5 today!
Clean. Good customer service. Prices are a little high on some stuff. I wish the staple items were not up & down on price. Milk and eggs are cheap one week, crazy the next. Mostly disappointed about price gouging on their milk in preparation of the huge ice storm that never happened. Prices jumped to $3.59 when they are usually marked as $3.39 on sale for... last time a gas station did this to fuel prices during a scare (29th & Gage) it got closed down by frustrated customers...
Found everything I needed easily.
Always find what I need and the staff are friendly.
Nice store but WAY overpriced...and why do they make you sign up and get a card in order to give them money? Its so stupid to make your customers have to sign up in order to buy things at this place...if you dont sign up, you get charged a higher price on many items. They say its because you get fuel points...well, i will live with paying the extra penny or two per gallon in order to be able to just buy something. AND the employees got quite a scam going in there, i didnt have my Dillons card with me and the guy says No problem, ill just swipe mine and then i get the points...i do it all th etime..once i had so many points that i got like .80 off a gallon!!!!....i wasnt gonna be part of his little scam where he lets customers spend money while he gets the benefits so i paid full price but i am done with this place.
Everything is available here. The problem with that is its also hard to find. Almost too big of a place!
Fast shipping and convenient to meet with my family needs
Good sales, cents off gas for buying what you need.
One of the cleanest and well organized stores in town. I personally dont care for the Urish store, and frequent Gage more.
Its a nice, clean, well-kept facility with nice staff.
Nice quite place to sit and read the morning news papers
