I have rented 3 trucks this past month, this location has been very helpful and professional friendly service each time. I had a little issue with the app when returning a truck, but that is more a corporate problem, not the staff at this location.I will be coming back today and in the future at this location for my rentals.
I was scheduled to move at the end of July this year, and had made a reservation in June. 3 days before I was scheduled to pick up my equipment, I was called by a distribution center that my reservation could not be fulfilled and I would need to make other arrangements. Needless to say, I was distraught as I was boxed up and needed to be out of my apartment in 3 days!But thats where Mohammad comes in. It was about 30 minutes prior to closing, and he didnt have the equipment I needed at his U-Haul. Yet this angel on earth was able to get me set up with a 15 truck and auto trailer I needed at another center in Gardena in about 3 minutes flat. I had no issues getting through my reservation at the Gardena U-Haul. Disaster averted.He went above and beyond helping me. He was efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. U-Haul has a great employee in this man, and I am truly grateful for his assistance.
Conclusion: terrible management but friendly staff.I ordered a tow hitch installation. For 3 months, I never hear from them, so I called them to schedule the installation. On the date of the scheduled installation, they did’t have the parts, and they delayed the installation for another 2 weeks. On the second scheduled installation, they still didn’t have the parts. Why would they schedule for the installation when they don’t even have the parts? Bad corporate management. I tried calling the store, but it went straight to corporate, and the wait time was 61 minutes!I originally gave them 1 star, but the staff there was pretty friendly. The manager went out of his way to get me the parts, and refunded me the labor cost of the installation.
Overall, this U-Haul location is awesome. We have used this U-Haul to install 3 hitches over the years. The service is great, the price is very reasonable, and you cant beat the lifetime warranty. Yesterday, they installed a hitch on our minivan. It turns out we ordered the wrong hitch and they went above and beyond to help us resolve the issue. Manny, David, Francisco, and the manager on duty all did a great job. They were nice and professional, and they have earned our business for life.

Never have I ever experienced such a wonderfully helpful and efficient crew.The trauma of moving, losing keys, and exhaustion was met with enthusiasm. helpfulness and encouragement.If there were more than 5 stars, I would give it too them all!!
This U-haul is pretty busy place in Torrance. The availability of the trailers and trucks are ample. But sometimes if the rush is too much the wait time can increase. Since I had an appointment booked a day before, i got my hitch installed on time.
Great experience working with this location. Worked with David and he was very professional. Will try to rent from this uhaul in the future
The manager David Rodriguez is excellent. There was some wait time for our truck because apparently the person who had it before us didnt return it on time. But that wasnt their fault and they went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this team! They give great service!
Made an appointment to install a custom hitch on my Lexus RX-350. Price was 1/2 the cost the dealer wanted to charge. Installation went smooth and hitch looks great. We can now take our bikes with us on trips to the beach.Gave one less star because finding a parking spot was difficult, location is in a dead spot for my Verizon phone, and no customer waiting room.

If I could give this place zero stars I would! Horrible customer service! I’m getting ready to move into a new home and I had kept hearing from people I should go to U-haul to purchase boxes because they are very fair priced. Therefore, looked up a local U-haul store and it said they close at 7pm. I ended up leaving work and rushing to this location off of Hawthorne Blvd in the city of Torrance. As I pulled into the parking lot at 6:57pm there was an employee outside who physically motioned (literally used his hand and made the motion of “slicing his throat”) and said, “we’re closed!” Now let me remind you, I was still in my car pulling into the parking space. My boyfriend got out of the car and went up to the door where another man came and said through the glass, “we’re closed”. This gentleman refused to even slightly open the door to have a conversation, so my boyfriend replied,, “it’s not 7:00 yet.” At this time the initial man who was outside was now back inside and both these men were saying they were closed and we’re refusing to let us in. When my boyfriend said we just wanted to purchase boxes the two men continued to argue and refuse to open the door. When my boyfriend told both men we were going to write a review, one of the men looked at him and gave him a “thumbs up” as he was walking away.I myself am in the customer service industry and feel as though this was by far the worse customer service experience I have ever endured! I work for a local company and just purchased a rental from this place a couple months ago. I will no longer be giving them my business and will ensure I let everyone know in this town never to go there! These two men need to be reprimanded. I would NEVER want employees like this representing my business. I always tell me employees, “treat the business as though it was your own.” If this was their business, these two men would have welcomed the customer inside and allowed the customer to make a purchase. That purchase would have meant an extra $100- $200 in sales. However, because it’s not their business, they chose to exhibit poor customer service with a careless attitude.Future reference, if you market you close at 7pm and your doors state you close at 7pm, then you should close at 7pm, not a minute sooner!
The place not organized service very slow
One of the worst customer experiences of my life. DO NOT get a hitch installed here. My 10AM appointment turned into me finally rolling out at 2:45 PM.Long story: I dropped my car off at 10AM for my hitch installation appointment. I did not wait at the location since I knew it would take more than the 2hrs that it is expected to. At 1PM I received a call from what I thought was the location (but turned out to be a call center). The guy called to tell me that my car should be ready. I didnt like how we was avoiding saying it was ready so I pushed back on the should phrasing. I asked again if my car IS done, and the guy on the phone said well according to the schedule it should be done I replied No, go look out back right now and tell me if it is or isnt to which he replied One moment...Yes its doneI get a ride back to the Torrance location, and of course, theres my car, hitched up, looking exceptionally not done. They had just started at around 1PM. In fact I think the call center managed to call me and confirm it was done before the location had even started with the hitch installation..At the location, I asked how long it will take, and am constantly reassured they are almost doneSo, while work was being completed, I was given the great opportunity to stand around in a parking lot for an hour and 40 minutes (since there is no customer waiting area or seating area or even shaded area).I called the store attendant a liar and told him his communication was god awful, to which he informed me that the stores dont answer the phone, but a call center. A call center that didnt have the decency to tell me they were a call center, and instead led me to believe they were on-site and able to confirm my car was ready.The location is grossly understaffed. At one point we were about 9 pissed off customers all waiting to talk to someone, many customers lamenting how ridiculous the situation was.DO NOT get a trailer hitch installed here, and if you are going to pick up a truck or trailer, its a gamble whether it might take 10 minutes or an hour.
I liked absolutely nothing about working with this group. Reserved a truck several days early only to find it wasnt available until the afternoon the day I needed it. Really put me in a bind.
Fantastic service from start to finish! I needed a hitch installed on my Jetta and the entire team was so pleasant to work with. The hitch I needed wasn’t available and the day prior I spoke to a woman who told me a location in Long Beach had the item and it would probably be faster for me to go and get it myself then get it installed. I really wanted to come to this location due to the reviews of people having hitch installed on their vehicles and having a good experience.I waited to decide if I really wanted to have it done. The next day I was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop in to find out which location had the hitch for me to go and get it. Now here’s the fantastic part, instead of me having to go all the way out in Long Beach to get it David told me they would get the item for me and we could schedule it for the next day. I was so greatly for that.Day of installation I was stuck at the DMV and late for my appointment. I knew that the installation would take about 2 to 3 hours so I called to let them know I would be late and then once I realized I was going to be even later I called to postpone it. It was about 45 minutes after my original appointment that I was finically finished and I called to ask if I could still get it installed and Minnie said yes. I got there an hour after my appointment time and they did a fantastic job and were courteous throughout all my questions and I didn’t feel rushed or blamed for being late.If you’re thinking of getting a hitch installed definitely come to this location!!

Its a well stocked uhaul center (in the olden days it was a chevron station) that supplies the full range of offerings in local and one way rentals.As with any local region, and depending you availabilityof inventory, one way rates may beer cheaper in one direction than another.Heres a cost savings tip:Dont forget to ask for extra complimentary miles if youre renting one way, they wont offer or mention it otherwise.And if youre going to be there for a while as they prepare your rental items make sure to check out Hanks Pizza across the street just to the south of the lot!
