Great experience at higher grounds. Me and my wife went here for a pour over and cappuccino. This is her favorite place so far in traverse city. They do a good job with covid-19 prevention and I appreciate that. You use your phone for the menu and ordering, if you have questions they can help you still all you have to do is ask. I would recommend and next time Im in TC Ill stop by.

I have had Higher Grounds coffee a hundred times. My favorite though was just recently. I visited on Sunday, the young lady working was more than kind to me. It was super nice chatting with her and just as nice there was a little fire pit with a log going for the chilly morning. My cold brew coffees were ready in a flash and were just simply very good, with good service and good atmosphere.

On the grounds of the Traverse City landmark The Villiage, this great little shop offers freshly roasted coffee for here or to go... You can get fun coffee-making items an sit in a lovely, minimalist, dining area. They have weekly specials such as bring your own mug and even offer to loan you a reusable mug on place of a disposable cup.

One of my favorite coffee outposts! An excellent variety of beans from microlots all over, especially fond of anything in the Apex Series.I get several bags a month shipped to my house since they dont distribute in my neck of the woods, but always stop by when visiting Traverse City; very glad theyre focused on social and environmental issues, its plenty easy to borrow a ceramic mug (or bring your thermos!) and take a stroll through the woods.

My favorite place. Great coffee shop with a good mission. Environmentally friendly, there is almost no waste here. So if you get coffee to go and you want a cup with a lid bring your own mug, or they give you a coffee cup but no paper or plastic is used. All coffee is fair trade and the money goes into the communities that grow and harvest the beans! Their seasonal coffees are awesome, and try the cold brew! This place will always be near to my heart.

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. What an awesome place! Their focus on sustainability is like nothing I’ve seen before. Their to-go cups are donated ceramic mugs, their products are organic and non-gmo sourced with an emphasis on reducing environmental impact. I ordered a decaf extra sweet mocha. It was the best mocha I’ve had. The mocha is made in-house and the quality and taste of the mocha honestly surpasses anything I’ve had before. I’m so sad that I can only have their products if I visit Traverse City (I’m moving to Cali). For any foodie and environmental advocate...this is your place.

My husband and I stopped in on the way out of town, and had an alright experience. I can see how the shop itself is super cute and fancy and it seems like they have quality products and pride themselves on being a forward-thinking third wave cafe. I have to mention that if youre going to provide a Vietnamese iced coffee, you should know what a real one tastes like. Their version is woefully lacking in condensed milk and tasted rather bitter. Maybe consider upping your milk portion so it tastes more authentic.

Higher Grounds cafe is a great spot to stop in for a brew or bring your to-go thermos. Incredible coffee, every ingredient is quality. Pumpkin Pie Latte? Itll have pumpkin puree, not a flavor syrup. I appreciate that, especially when I know Im going to be spending some cash regardless of what shop I go to. Plus I know there are good people behind it that treat their workers/farmers fairly - thats the way it should be.

A little hard to find, but BOY does the coffee make up for it. Finely crafted, feels like Mozart in your mouth. Such artful coffee. And since I am allergic to highly acidic coffee, this was the perfect place! Things like starbucks act up my allergies, and I have to stick to companies that are local. I wish I lived in this coffee shop. Not only does it smell so good when walking in, the people are amazing. The overall feeling of the shop is wonderful. Plus, you get to see where they package their coffee as well.Definitely visit here again.

My husband and i visited last year and had a good experience. We were there yesterday about 2:00 pm and it was NOT a good experience. The Americano tasted cheap - not like most I have had. I asked for a spoon because the cobtainer was empty. He said just a minute. When customers were served he still did not fill it and I sensed he was doing it on purpose. He did not thank me for the good tip. I spent over $50 on coffee and supported their causes by buying the Harvest blend but will not go back. They lost a good customer yesterday!

I dont know how or why the staff is so cranky and rude. This was the worst customer service experience Ive had in a while. The barista at the register had zero patience or desire to help us find something we would like even though we were friendly and polite. The barista making drinks forgot our beverage and after asking about it when customers behind us in line had been served we were treated rather rudely.Customer service isnt that challenging, especially when your customers try to be friendly, engaging, and ask good questions about the menu.

Great coffee. I usually buy their coffee from the store. My wife had a child at the hospital and got this place mixed up with Couppa Joe and told me to get her some coffee from Higher Grounds. Well they only have ceramic mugs to go and it was an interesting drive back to the hospital. Maybe its my fault for not insisting on a to go cup. If youre looking for to go coffee, you might want to go somewhere else if you dont want to deal with a silly moral dilemma that could be covered by some biodegradable cups. Overall the coffee was worth the awkward looks and comments I got from people in the hospital.
