``All of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful which makes the experience of shopping here even better. The to go section of the cafe is always stocked with a variety of healthy options that are perfect for any meal especially when you are limited on time. They have a great bulk section including nut butters, dried fruits, and more. I love the cafe which features fresh smoothies, juices, and coffees as well as a range of food options as well. The superior smoothie is amazing and the lemon zinger is perfect for when you feel like you might need an immune boost. Overall, they have so many great options. The only downside of Oryana is that the selection at this location varies from their other store. However, this store receives 5 stars for its great selections!

I appreciate the gluten free and dairy free sweets and treats as someone who is lactose and gluten intolerant! This way I can enjoy life! Always find something new, great candles, excellent selection of food to go, and of course tea! Staff are friendly and personable.

Oryana is a wonderful place for interesting groceries and fresh produce and bulk legumes and refilling your jars and containers by weight with a whole lot of things. Quality is clearly top priority but theyve also got all the hip varieties.

Excellent health food/organic/sustainably sourced market! Everything from fresh deli items to frozen foods, bulk items to loose teas, pet food to gourmet chocolates and every possible vitamin and health product. This is the original store, and they recently opened a new store off M37 (across from the AMC theater) which is more like a full grocery store. Plenty of parking, and right next to a public bike trail. Its a favorite stop when in town!

This is seriously one of the best places ever. They have locally grown food and the quality is amazing plus everyone is always friendly. The chef was very helpful finding something suitable for food allergies.

I love Oryana. It reminds me a lot of Whole Foods, but with a few extra things (like bulk eggs) that I rarely see at a Whole Foods. Great selection, employees are incredibly kind. My grandmother loves their senior discount days. :) No samples at the moment due to covid, but I think its a matter of time.

Best place to shop in town. The prices may be higher, but the food is much better quality. Furthermore, unlike Meijer, I have never had to witness people beating their screaming children while shopping. If anything the higher price is a premium to not have to shop with Meijer clientele.

Great natural food and natural care products! Prices are higher than necessary, compared to similar items found at other stores through the country. Great spot for coffee, bars of natural soap and to refill grains, nuts, seeds etc. Also Kombucha! Love the affordability of the kombucha. People were friendly here as well.

A good place for good food, pay for what you get but in this context, its a good thing. So dont expect any Wal-Mart quality food here. Best place to go for this sort of natural food. Glad there is somewhere out there that has actual Food Food.

Came here looking for NORMAL white milk. Asked an employee at milk section if a specific kind was normal milj I would find at grocery store and he assured me yes it was. Then I get home and find out its disgusting organic milk and not normal milk like I specifically asked. Im a little ticked off rn with no milk after making a trip for milk and spending $6 on a gallon!!!

Great customer service, products are always reliable for safety and ingredient sensitivities. The kitchen/premade food is even prepared safe for allergies. Im always so impressed by the line of communication of team members and for follow up on any questions. Theyre so through with any questions or concerns. Unbeatable selection for a local co-op store. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable too. Love this place! Its better than Whole Foods, Luckys Market, Trader Joes.... Its the best!

This place is hands down the best grocer in MI! I discovered this place a couple years ago when I traveled back to our family cabin on The Au Sable. They have a great selection of organic produce and foods. Great selection of bulk foods and tasty prepared foods. Like whole foods, except way better and not deceptive 🙂. Do yourself, your friends, and family a favor and become a member here. Good for you and our planet. Our cabin is an hour away from this place, but I make a point of it to travel with a cooler and get everything we need here. Thanks to the people who make this place operate! Kids also get 1 piece of fruit complimentary while shopping.

Awesome place to go if you want locally sourced, organic, worth-your-while options; however, be prepared to pay a premium for those choices. It’s well worth paying a bit more to know exactly what you’re getting. Check the labels before buying if you’re looking to buy local because they do have some non-locally sourced items. Well worth the extra buck though! Employees are friendly and helpful and do their best to be informative.

This food co-op has some of the most choice I have ever seen! The home goods section is larger than the typical store, and the deli and cafe selection is also expanded. Helpful, kind employees and they even had a covid safe cheese sample to take home two and compare and vote online.

Oryana has a great selection of high quality foods. Great staff, great company! Got a bunch of specialty spices and ingredients today so I can experiment with cooking more Indian cuisine.

When I get sick, I come here and talk to the woman in their wellness department, she always knows the best natural ways to fight sickness and keep me healthy wholistically. I go out of my way to shop here because its worth it!

This wonderful store is clean, all employees have their masks on correctly and they enforce customers wearing masks. Plus they have signs and markers all over practicing social distancing. Their produce is FRESH, all displays are clean, items are stocked and rotated - it’s heaven for someone who notices all and used to work in a big box store. Oryana West is equally perfect as their management exceeds in these qualities - and in these trying times - these two stores will be where we shop! We are very happy with Oryana! 😊😊😊♥️

The prices are slightly higher than any other grocery store. But you get what you pay for, and thats quality. Ive never had a bad experience or something I didnt like. The food from the cafe is always fresh and delicious!

Great natural grocery store. You can get the great organic produce, bulk items and spices that are so fresh and a great price since you are not paying for packaging. This is a one stop grocery with friendly knowledgeable staff. You can get a fresh juice and specialty coffee and enjoy the many grab and go offerings from the cafe and kitchen. Live music in cafe on certain days. A very clean store. Smells great as you walk in with the many good food offerings!

Ive been shopping at Oryana since 1980. I have always loved the bulk foods, organic produce, kind-to-animals dairy products, and the tofu! Ive been shopping at Oryana since the 1980s on Randolph Street. Oryana is more than a store, its a community. Its place of fresh local produce, healthy food, amazing soups and a gathering place for like-minded people.Its a gathering place of information whether its the bulletin boards in the front, the gallery of local farmers in the entryways, the staff knowledge of healthy foods and products, to the classes taught in the cafe in the back - Oryana is a great place to come to learn more.The atmosphere is fun and enjoyable. People are friendly, produce is colorful, it smells great and theres often music playing in the cafe. Come and enjoy!

This is an excellent store with great leadership and customer friendly management. They do their best to take excellent care of their customers with a great selection of everything one needs from a grocery store and deli. Now they have gasoline!! FifeLake area is so very fortunate to have this store!

Great neighborhood Traverse City grocery store and it even has takeout food. Plenty of parking along with curbside service. If I lived closer I would use it for all of my shopping.

Was on vacation in Traverse city for a week and decided to try this place out. Their cafe is awesome and has PLENTY of options to choose from ranging from grilled sandwiches to salads to smoothies to coffee and also a hot bar with several things to choose from. The food is healthy, delicious, and they use many locally sourced ingredients. It is also an awesome grocery store which reminded me of a smaller scale Whole Foods Market. The team is very friendly and accommodating too. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town.

One can truly get lost (in a good way) in the isles here as the products offered are unique & healing; awesome variety👌I love the smell of Oryanas 🤣😁, the cafe is a great addition to the store & always seems to be bubbling over with people enjoying local, fresh ingredients, telling stories & laughing. I do not make written complaints very often, but today I have to do just that. Practicing a little more kindness to those who dont understand how serious this epidemic is and what you are trying to accomplish there at your store. Coming at people as if you are a mad barking dog does not help. Practice a little more kindness in your voice or find someone else to assist when greeting those coming in the store who are not following or understanding your rules that you have set up for the public. It is very trying for everyone, but we will all get though this.....Thank you

I visited for the deli/to go food options. There were lots of hot and cold vegan options including salads, pasta, rice and beans, soups, wraps, smoothies, and baked goods. At least half the hot bar was vegan and I was extremely impressed. I got a tofu wrap and raspberry muffin, yum! The cashier was super friendly and the dining area was so sunny and enjoyable. I will definitely return when Im in Traverse City.

This place always delivers a unique taste treat. I can wander through and find something Ive not had before. I can eat outside or in the cafe. Theres non food items too. Just dont park by the stinky compost !

Love all the vegan options here. Amazing shop. However the coffee shop pulls short timed espresso and it tastes blegghh! I recommend only getting the regular drip coffee and not a latte. Baristas, time ya dang shots! Between 25-30 seconds ladies! Come on! Lol

Who needs a whole foods in town when you have a place like this!? All organic produce. A large variety of bulk foods(mostly organic). Hot food bar looked amazing. And kids get a free piece of fruit while shopping. Hands down the best grocer in northern MI. Staff was super friendly too.

An amazing food truck lot with a bar and a local street food. Little fleet is a not so hidden gem these days. We stop by every time we are in town. Really cater to parents and dogs allowed on a leash in the large open area. Must try.

The staff is wonderfully helpful, the selection is very good for such a small store, prices can be a bit high but it is a small store. The selection of local food products is excellent. The prepared / made to order foods is great. You could make this your only grocery store but it would be a bit expensive and if you are at all outside of town getting there can be a bit of a pain. All of that said it is great to swing by on your way home pickup a great dinner and those specialty items or a weekend mid morning to get those ingredients you can only get there along with other odds and ends along with lunch. Wish I worked within walking distance I would do lunch there every day.

If you need your ‘organic all natural’ fix, this is the place. From tea to toilet paper, pork chops to ice cream pops, you can get what you need for a few extra dollars compared to anywhere else. Fully equipped coffee bar. New hot bar at the deli.

Oryana is a great food co-op! One of the best in Michigan for sure. They have a complete line of groceries and food supplements. They also have a hot bar and make great sandwiches.

Oryana is an amazing place! The store has so much to offer for the health conscious shopper. Items are always in stock, easy to find and the staff is very knowledgable and helpful. Prices are consistent with other stores of this kinds, but their co-op membership offers great discounts! Its always a pleasure to shop here, and you can grab a great hot or cold lunch and drink from the cafe and barista. Highly recommend!!!

I liked Oryana much better before they expanded. Some items that I can easily find in other stores are priced much higher.The food they serve is top notch! LOVE that there are many vegan options. On my last visit my cashier was downright rude. I have never experienced that there before. Guess everyone is entitled to a bad day...

Excellent selection for deli and hot bar options, as well as an extensive menu. Options are available for nearly every dietary restriction. Discounts are good. Organic brand is cheap yet very good. This is an excellent store. They even have live music in the summer.

This place is awesome. They are a co-op and emphasize healthy options. They have produce, packaged goods, a meat department, a deli with some seating and a healthcare product section. They have bins and bins of grains, nuts, flours, even raw honey. They also have a wine section offering several local varieties. They offer discounts if you bring your own bag and if you are a member. They are pricey but remember the options are organic and local. And the food from the deli is out of this world good.

I wish we had more places like this in Michigan. A unique coop with a unique history. Great selection and member services. I wish this place could document and capture the journey that made them successful so other co-op and future intentional communities can learn from and aspire to be as successful as Oryana.
