Great price. Installers came on the agreed date and completed all the work in one day. The were courteous and did an excellent job. The windows look great and made a noticeable difference keeping out the heat.

Nothing but good things to say about American Openings. Wife and I live in a 60 year old adobe house that leaks air like nothing else. We called AO to get a quote. The cool thing was they let us do one window at a time and havent changed their rates in 2 years as we do them one by one. We initially did our bathroom window 2 years ago and didnt do anything until a few weeks ago..now we are doing one each month until we are done.Pricing is great and since they are aluminum, not vinyl, I dont have to worry about cracking or warping.Lead time is 2 weeks like another reviewer said.Install is a couple of hours per window. They look great and function beautifully. No hidden fees or charges and they make the window fit perfectly. Plus the installers always clean up their mess completely.Nothing bad to say at all.

Nothing to complain about, they did the job well and for a good price. If you live in Arizona, Tucson in particular, give these guys a call and have them put in a bid on your project, youll probably like it.Initial bid/sales process was pretty standard, their guy came out, measured the window and offered options. They can do pretty much whatever you want since they build all windows to spec, but are good at listening to what you are actually after and offering that. In my case, something very good at blocking heat and noise.Their bid was much cheaper than other vendors. They were about 70% of the price of Pella for high end sound dampening windows and 60% of the price for a normal dual pane efficient windows. Same kind of features (dual pane 3/8 glass, argon filled, etc) and good glass (theyll tell you who they get the glass from, if you are interested) just a better price.Once I said go ahead things were pretty quick. Their installer came out and did final measurements for construction and then gave me an install date. One thing to note is it will take a bit to get your stuff built. A bit less than two weeks in my case. Depends on how much you are getting and what (the sound dampening windows take extra time to cure). Since everything is custom built, there is a lead time. If your windows are standard sized (mine arent) then buying at Home Depot or something could get you one that you could install right away. With American Openings you have to wait while they build it, they dont keep a stock ready to go. Pretty fast build process though, actually less time than the other vendors quoted, probably because it is built local and doesnt have to be shipped.Installation was amazingly simple. Their hop processes they like to chat about really works well. Way faster and less mess than I was expecting for a window installed in stucco over concrete block. They just modify the old frame and cut it down, and attach the new one over top. Seems to work great.Quality is top notch near as I can tell. Im really happy with the window. It blocks heat like a champ. I get more leakage through my old south facing single pane windows than through this new east facing window. Of course I cant give any long term this window has lasted 50 years kind of assessment, I just got it a couple months ago, but it is well built, good looking, and looks like it should last. It is in every way as well built and attractive as the big brands I looked at. Supposedly warrantied for life too.Im going to be using them again for sure when I replace more windows.

Stay away from these guys. Dr Horton built our home using their windows and twelve years later 17 of our windows need to be replaced before we can sell the home. The rubber separator between the panes has bulged out and looks terrrible. They stated the defect was only covered for 2 years, so no help there, but they offered to charge us $75 to send someone out to measure for new windows! They appear to be building a subpar product, so not sure why they think I would buy more of them.

Not even worth 1 Star! My builder used these windows and 11 years later just about every window in this home leaks every time it rains. Now we have major damage and we are finding out the windows are low grade contractors windows made by American Openings! What a joke!
