Woke up in a dazed state and wanted to get breakfast for dinner, waiters overheard me wanting cheesecake AND french toast so the very kind, attentive, creative staff suggested i do both.I was then blessed with this masterpiece. No complaints, 10/10 exactly what i pictured. A whole fat slice of cheesecake right in the middle. Thank you Mark Twain Diner

My family goes to a different restaurant every Sunday to have family breakfast. This Sunday we picked “Mark Twain Diner”. Let me start to say, This was place has the best service. Andres gave us the best service. He got everything right. The food was amazingly delicious. I can’t wait to come back here. We love this restaurant. I highly recommend it to everyone.

This diner is excellent, great ambiance and the food is delicious. We ordered the roast chicken and southwest omelette meals and they were spot on! Definitely coming back here!

Good food. Had the IMPOSSIBLE Burger, it was so well prepared I had to call our waiter John over and confirm with him that I was having a meatless Burger🤔🧐🤷🏾‍♀️. It was soo good. Waffle fries are really good.

Always enjoy having lunch here. You cant beat a great diner menu thats as thick as a book and packed with delicious selections across the dining spectrum. Whatever youre hungry for...theyve got it here on the menu.Recently enjoyed their Reuben Burger for lunch...huge portion, crisp toasted rye bread...great burger! Came with soup, fries, pickle and some of the best cole slaw Ive ever eaten. Attractive prices and large portions are hallmarks of this comfortable, clean and enjoyable diner. Counter, booth and dining room seating. Highly recommend!

Good food and very friendly staff. Plate portions are on the side of Enormous so keep that in mind. It would be very possible for two adults to dine off any single dinner offering. The kids meals are uniquely named after various cartoon characters and the staff was very patient, friendly and engaging with my 7yo who has a speech delay. This is the epitome of a family friendly diner that shall make its way to the top of our must return list.

The wait went very quickly and Jay our waiter was very nice! We were not rushed out even though it was a Sunday and they were crowded! Food was good, would definitely go back!

My mother in law was visiting from out of town recently and we decided to finally give Mark Twain a try. Wow! we were so impressed. Professional and friendly staff, the actual ambience is very clean and nice. The food is so good and the portions are generous. You can see my pictures below. We had a great time and ended up staying for hours just chatting. Then we moved on to dessert and let me tell you, the orginal cheesecake is absolutely delicious. You have to try it. Nice family style restaurant with tons of things to choose from the menu.

I’m usually pleased by the food at this establishment, however this meal wasn’t as great so I’m dropping my rating because meatloaf and mashed potatoes is my favorite comfort food. The meatloaf was tasteless and dry. Some parts of the meat were darker than the other part on the same piece. The mashed potatoes didn’t taste like they were made from real potatoes and tasteless watery consistency. I’m not giving up on them because we love their turkey burgers.

Mediocre. At best.Bagel was okay.Service was exceedingly slow (place was not busy); I dont often give a 10% tip...We were 15 minutes early for lunch (11am) My buddy asked if he could order lunch and was told no.

Great food..had a honey lime chicken salad tasted the fried shrimp yummy. The seafood bisque was good but lukewarm so couldnt really appreciate it. I love this diner

One of the best diners Ive eaten at and believe me I am a true Jersey girl! Fabulous chicken noodle soup: I mean who cares about chicken noodles soup yet this was delicious. Excellent Greek sampler plate. Very good service, attentive. Cute Twain concept too, love the quotes!!

Went for lunch with my niece ordered pulled pork nachos. The chips were hard stale like. Manager said it was reheating it that causes it and bought out some more chips round yellow chip not nacho chips at all. Niece had chicken finger kids meal said chicken fingers were not good at all. We left all the food not worth taking home. We got the bill went to pay the Host added an extra charge. I paid with card receipt says charge was for check payment. I didnt pay with check. Either way wont be going there anymore. Beware of extra charges and bad food..

The food was good. The server was excellent! He had many tables but he kept everybody happy. I didnt have to ask for refills. The food came out quick and hot!

The food quality changed from a few months ago to now. Theyre using cheaper, plastic tasting chicken, bacon that has no flavor and is like dog treats. My food has also been burnt the last 2 times Ive been here, bread literally black and fries dark brown.

With moving here almost 10 months ago and giving this place multiple opportunities to correct their food and bar issues its just pointless to continue to try anymore. The servers are clueless to the menu... The food is absolutely BUTCHERED and way overcooked.. Customer service is HORRIBLE. No one in this establishment cares about anything except for your money. Please stay far away from this place and also HUCK FINN Diner down the road. Clueless management.. Obnoxious owners... Cooks who would never care about quality of food.. And just an overall horrible experience.

I used to go to Mark Twain Diner late night. Before,it was open 24 hours, now it came back, no late night hours, a little change on customers but always same nice people. Good food, prices are higher than other diners, great environment for friends and lovers.

So I was recommended to go here for the burgers. I was told that they are awesome. So I ordered a burger, fries and wings for takeout. The person who recommended the place to me also picked up the food. The burger delicious. The fries under cooked and the wings were not clean. Dear Mr. Mark Twain I love wings but could you PLEASE hold the FEATHERS!!! I just wasted good hard earned money on inedible food. Gordon Ramsey would curse your cook out for such lack. I hear him say go just get the F out of my kitchen! I don’t know if I will chance another encounter even though the burger was delicious with a nice bit of char.

Not the best experience, the service was poor and the food was not even good. We got ordered multiple food items and the only thing good was the fries. We orders guac that was $10 which came with chips which were stale and salty. The guac was our appetizer and they forgot about it! We ordered burger which had no taste, we asked for mayonnaise 3 times. The service was terrible it seemed like no one wanted to work there. Highly disappointed in service, management and food. Wont be going back and waste of money!!

The Senior Special we ordered (all different meals) were very good. I had Homestyle Chicken Rice soup + a half roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. Everything was good Except the mashed potatoes tasted okay but were a bit weird. Id swear that they were instant from a box. But my sister ordered eggplant parmigiana + was very pleased. Said it was great. My nephews with us were kind of picky + typical teenagers. One had breakfast + the other a Beyond Burger. They seemed to like theirs. Had a big appetite from working all day.

My husband and I were there 2 weeks ago with our son and his girlfriend..... they live in Kenilworth.... really good food, good prices and excellent service. Christina is an awesome waitress!!!We were passing the area today and went to Mark Twain Diner again. We asked for a table in Christinas section when we saw her, telling the guy at the register how much we liked her....she remembered us from 2 weeks ago when I said we were there with our son and his girlfriend. Shes so nice, food was great and prices are good!

We have been coming to Mark Twain for the past 10 years, my daugher loves the chicken noodle soup here. Its our go to place. All around its a good dinner.

First time going. No waiting during the time I went. Prompt service. I had the belgian waffles with ham, bacon, and eggs it was delicious. Ham was really good almost the way my grandmother makes it minus a few ingredients. I will go back again to try other things on the menu.

My parents had been here before, and Im a little skeptical of Diners. In my experience...they are hit or miss. This was a HIT. Shawn was our waiter and he was so attentive and kind!! The food was amazing and reasonably priced! Very pleased with this establishment!

I had such high expectations going in to the restaurant, so I am somewhat disappointed. I ordered the gyro breakfast with chicken. The chicken was very dry and unflavored. The hash brown and the scrambled eggs unflavored. The only great thing was the customer service.

Home fries (with onions & peppers [optional]) are AMAZING! 👏👏👏 . Clean restaurant and comfortable. Ill travel 30 min again to go back.

The Food its not cheap, but now everything got pricey. The one I ordered was chicken Francese yummy, my Husband got Chicken Carbonara he liked too, the soup its Amazing seafood i forgot the rest of the soup name but its creamy very yummy.The lady who served us she is very Nice, we have a very nice Dinner .thank you. We Recommend this place.

Consistently good food and service. Reasonably priced diner food (had lunch there on Sunday, 2 people, 2 wraps/fries that came with a free soup, 2 coffees and an appetizer came out to $50 with tip). Theres a parking lot plenty of space inside the restaurant.

The staff was very polite and welcoming. The atmosphere was very pleasant and I definitely will be returning. The food is delicious and they give you more than expected I have the Maryland crab cakes 😍😍. You definitely will be happy you came!!

My friend had Fried calamari and it was old and fishy. She had severe diarrhea right after. Burger was super dry and the mozzarella on the cheese was so hard she couldn’t get the fries from underneath. Her boyfriend had a steak salad. Salad was hot and the bacon was stale. Lettuce was rubberish and steak wasn’t cooked. I had the chicken tacos, the rice was undercooked and the tacos were very soggy. We give this place one star for the sodas that had a nice amount of gas on them. My friend found an Old lady in the bathroom who was having severe diarrhea as well which makes me believe this place is a food hazard to us all.

We had passed by so many times and were curious and finally we decided to stop in for dinner with the family. Im so glad we did. The food is great. The cheesecake is amazing. The ambient super cozy and the staff is very family friendly. Good prices and an impressive menu with so many different dishes to choose from. Liked it so much we went back a week later.

Mark Twain Diner is a 5-star as far as diners go. The wait staff is very attentive and professional, establishment is clean as a whistle and the dacor is more on a restaurant scale than a diner scale, the prices are average Diner prices, the food is absolutely delicious and plentiful! You will get two meals for one here, so if youre single like me and you like leftovers this is a must go to! The only downside here is that the dessert case looks delectable, but out of three desserts I tried only one was really actually delicious and satisfying, I would opt for the apple turnover if I were you ...

Coffee was so good. Corn beefhash, home fries w/peppers & onions, Canadian bacon, chorizo, cinnamon french toast. Definitely my new place now. My waiter amber was amazing too!!! My husband was way too excited abt the music they were playing too!!

If I could give it zero stars I would. Our waitress was nice, but the food was horrible! Every single thing we ordered tasted old and frozen. Will definitely not be returning.

I was a long time satisfied patron of the diner until this most recent visit which will be my LAST TIME EATING HERE. I ordered the baked chicken and stuffing with the usual sides. When my food arrived the chicken was under cooked. I asked that it be cooked a little longer. The waiter brought it back 30 minutes later. Because my party had eaten while I waited, I confirmed that it was done and requested a to go container to eat the food later. When I ate the chicken and stuffing later that day (at home) it was AWFUL!!! By awful I mean tasteless and season-less. I called the manager to express my grievances about my entire experience, and while he did apologize, he did not offer a refund which would have been the ONLY solution at this point. Instead he offered me a free dessert the next time I came to the restaurant 🤬. Mark Twain has truly fallen off.

We asked for no tomato on one of our sandwiches due to an allergy. When the sandwich came out with tomato, we told our waiter of the situation and he gladly took the plate back. Even though we informed them of the allergy, all they did was remove the tomato and send it back out (the fries were still covered in salt and the tomato juice was still stained into the bun).Poor customer service, mediocre food.

We were looking for something to eat before we went shopping,looked up diners on the GPS and found this place and figured we give it a try. So,glad we did,food was delish,service was professional and out going. Price were very good. Wish we lived closer.

They gave me 1 slice of bread and cut it in half with 2 eggs and meat and charged $14 . I ordered because the restaurant is literally down the street from my house I was going to order from IHOP but tried this place out never again. I spent Almost $30 and got nothing for the cost. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE AND GET THE PORTION YOU DESERVE FOR THE PRICE YOU PAY. Only thing I liked was the syrup. Breakfast is simple but they made this into rocket science. Never again

Best diner anywhere around this area. I grew up in union county and we’ve mostly had mediocre diners since forever. Finally we have a spot that makes amazing fresh food with quality ingredients. Will be a frequent spot for me and I highly recommend you check them out.

I order four meals from them and they all were mediocre. Not the best at Mark Twain can offer. I ordered some desserts and out of the four three of them were no good. Two strawberry shortcakes were already spoiled and then the cookies and cream cake was so dry because Ive been sitting there for days. Buyer beware ordering food at Mark Twain.

BAD REVIEW! MUST READ: When dining-in, be aware of the new policy that states that, “If a customer does not like a meal or if they feel that the meal was not made right (appetizer or entree), only substitutions can be made or 50% will be taken off that specific item.” I had an altercation today where I did not like the appetizer of pierogies. The menu stated that the dish had a potato and cheese filling and that it comes with applesauce and sour cream. I never received the applesauce and the filling was completely bland. It tasted like plain mashed potatoes and I did not like it. I had my guest try it and she did not like it either. After complaining AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (the head manager claimed that we waited, however we complained before they gave us our entree…it’s on camera I’m sure)…..they told us okay they would take it off, however when we asked for the check it said 50% off. This is not proper business etiquette at all. It was very unprofessional, especially when I asked if they could give us something else and the manager walked off and brought two jumbo cookies covered in sprinkles. This became disrespectful to us as they didn’t even bother to ask what we even wanted….at least give a choice. I ended up arguing with some other man who gave instructions to the head manger to make a one time exception and I was confused because they said the owner was not in, however this man was giving orders to the head manager. This man said they’ve never had a problem with their pierogies and that they made the dish properly. He then says “You waited until the last minute to say something. Look how many you ate…there was only 3 left.” There was only 6 and they are pretty small. I barely ate the 2nd one that I tried. My guest ate 1 after I told her that something was off. This was completely irrelevant as I called the waiter immediately before our main food even came. This man needs to take his feelings out of the business that he is running and be professional. The head manager said, “ We can’t take off an appetizer or meal for everybody because we need to make money. We can’t waste ingredients.” This is where I lost it because that was just a stupid remark as the other man butted in and said, “I’ll put the appetizer back on if you keep it up.” Now, I felt even more DISRESPECTED AS HE THREATENED TO CHARGE US AGAIN AFTER HE ALREADY TOLD THE HEAD MANAGER TO TAKE IT OFF OUR BILL and my guest was in awe. I simply told him to do it and you’ll have to call the police. It is crazy to me because the head manager privately told me that they do make exceptions in some cases where if someone doesn’t like their dish they would remove it. As if my reasoning wasn’t logical….how weird. If you made the dish correctly or TASTY, then you wouldn’t have to worry about wasting ingredients. My thing is most of their food is frozen anyways. The only thing they truly take pride in is their desserts and their cream of chicken/turkey soup that they now only serve on Sundays. I am seeing that there is a trend with smaller businesses where they do not want to remove dishes or drinks anymore if someone does not like it. This is unacceptable and the better business bureau needs to get on it. I am seeing this pattern in North New Jersey, mostly. Some owners seem to get offended when a customer has a detailed issue. If you cannot deal with constructive criticism and you are running a food business….you need to get out that industry. UNACCEPTABLE.

Been going to this place since way before the renovation or new ownership. Food is ok, sometimes it’s better and sometimes it falls short. The worst change over the years is the woman they have at the front desk. She is mean, rude, Un attentive. she will also let you stare at your food rite behind her and make the servers hand it off to you when they are done serving people inside instead of just handling it herself. Waited at the counter for 8 mins while she stood there and told me someone will handle this for you soon, and walks away. She also treats my wife the same way, and our friends have said the same. Just an overall unattractive presence at the forefront of a customer service setting. Poor decision putting, and keeping her there. she’s the first and last thing you deal with when you go there . . When she’s aroundUntil she gets replaced I’ll be going to the turning point in Westfield more often. Great staff and great food

Went to the diner to get a soup and salad. The prices seemed to be reasonably set but then I forgot to order the small salad I didn’t say anything in regards to size but the waitress assumed the large salad for some reason and the bill came back to me and I had to pay $13 with tip for a soup and salad. As she knows the menu much better than I she should’ve asked what size.

This diner is always messing up people’s orders especially when you order to pick up. Then to make it worse they tell you they gave you everything. This never fails. Today I wanted to surprise my sister with a mothers day breakfast for her and my mom. Her entire order was missing. Upset was not even a word to describe how this messed up the entire day.

Be careful ordering frim Mark Twain online because you might end up with any old thing. Very disappointed.
