I always have a good visit at this location. I hit the exchange and then the commissary. Everyone is so helpful and nice, and they always seem to have more than my local stores. Today I was actually able to purchase Capri suns! I havent been able to get those at my local grocery store and about 3 weeks. If you have the ability, head out here and pick up a few early Christmas presents or just those groceries that you havent been able to find.
Great! Very organized and very well stocked! Highly recommend the fresh sushi bar! Very friendly cashier.
The commissary remains on my goto list. Not for everything as Walmart is the king of discount and offers most staples and canned food cheaper. But meat, bread, and dairy at the Com cant be beat. Watch prices on crackers, cereal, condiments, and coffee for great deals. They change prices every Wednesday.
I surely miss a military commissary being ckose, the prices are great.
Like many places their shelves are starting to have empty spots. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
I love this Airforce Base, whilst it is more quiet when you go shopping at the Commissary on Sundays or during weekdays before 3pm, if you like it not crowded and more of a relaxing Shopping Experience..!!!.. Gas a little cheaper and some food as well, but for sure you need a ID to enjoy that Convenient Pleasure!!!.. Lot of different Varieties to choose from.. Great and very clean Airforce Base !!!
Always clean and not too crowded usually. I go about every two weeks to get essentials. Best time to go is when vendors are there to give coupons!
1st time here...wanted to compare prices with heb. Like anywhere else some products cheaper some not. They have products not available at heb. Living 80 miles away I will only go when I visit family (4 miles away) and need items not at heb. Very clean
Great prices on meat, well stocked groceries store and extremely clean.Well need to make a groceries list and go more often.
Good food selection. Prices a bit higher than outside supermarkets. Great customer service.
Very convenient. Prices are great on all selections I bought.
Not as good as it use to be. Prices are really high - then add the 5% surcharge. HEB beats them in most instances.
As military commissary goes, It’s a better experience than most.
Nothing to scream about but they try. Seems like the staff has been working here to long. Its like a base wide cryptic disease that runs rampant from the moment of hire. Past transgressions are required to be hired, firings, incomplete training, examples of poor people skills seems the norm to hire some of the folks. Government just doesnt change where they actually have a shot at making a difference.
Very good italian sandwiches at the deli!
Clean, neat and organized. Love the prices in the near & dairy departments.
Once you get past the 1960’s flashing neon lights this place is fantastic. All of the products you want are here and for the retired community(that’s me) and other military personnel this place is great. The only downside is the produce section is small and not the best.
Great cashiers & baggers. I love how social distance measures are put in place . All customers & staff wear masks 😷 was awesome. Safety first. I love shopping here with my Dad.
A great selection of meats and cheeses and the staff does a great job in providing you with what you want.
They provide good size portions of fresh deli food and good customer service.
Spend lots of time reviewing the bargains. Usually only go family food shopping twice a month. Randolph AFB Commissary has given me great value for the dollar spent and customer service. Thank you everyone for your help and support.
Many things you can only find in the commissary vs HEB. Especially Beef Rice-a-Roni
I like shopping at the Commissary. I would only add that Id like to see better produce; i.e., sweet potatoes and pears. Otherwise, Im satisfied and Id much rather continue shopping there vs H-E-B. And, the staff is friendly and courteous.
Love the click2pickup! Great experience!!
They did not have Lunchables. Most sandwich meat was expired. Meat was far more expensive than our local grocery store.
Love the size, peacefulness, cleanliness, and product mix at the Randolph commissary. Staff could be friendlier overall, but not too bad. Produce quality and consistency, like all DECA commissaries across the globe, truly needs to be reevaluated. Guarantee that customers would pay a little bit more for better quality. Despite that, definitely remains a real benefit to active duty and retiree alike.
In and out under 30 minutes. I got everything on my list. Friendly cashier.
Everything you need + .Great assortment from around the world in taste.
Still missing some items that normally are on the shelves? Staff is friendly and helpful!
Love the selections and prices, some items were limited due to the snow storm that shocked our area!!Employees are Always friendly and helpful.Recommend!!!❤️❤️❤️
Its still the greatest place to shop.I really miss my military days.
As usual the commissary provided excellent prices.
Good as always but closed self checkouts at 730 when store closes at 8 could have at least left one open
Staff and service are fine. The facility is looking very, very sad. Almost embarrassing. I hope something new is in the works.
Great benefit for service members.
Choice between Randolph, Ft Sam, HEB or Wal-Mart. Depends on what and when we need. Prices better than most other civilian stores. HEB comes very close second.
Clean and organize area....Nice people!
Ive been shopping at the commissary since I was 18yr old. So without a doubt they are amazing and does a fabulous job.
Shelves stocked, friendly workers. Great prices.
Vegetables good quality but some prices are not as competitive to HEB prices. Meats quality and price are very good, but not always available. Vitamins and supplements have drastically reduced in types and quantity. International goods are very competitive.
Lauren from the Bakery was incredibly personable, friendly, and gave sincere advice. Great experience and service!
Super friendly workers and great prices!
I enjoyed my time at the commissary everyone was nice and helpful. They have a good selection of products. I even found the german christmas bread that my husband loves.
Always great help
Good day to shop, not busy at all.
I dont understand why baking potatoes can be purchased individually, but sweet potatoes cannot. 🤔 Otherwise, good experience.
Jbsa Randolph commissary has been theStore thing started
Long lines as usual...baggers sitting down with two cashiers. Poor management.
Randolph AFB Commissary always has everything I need with Awesome customer service!😍
Well organized & clean. We found what we needed with no problems. Great prices on meats & dairy items!
Randolph commissary is small but efficient. Sometimes you may see a bird or two flying around.
Great, had everything I needed.
Friendly service and good prices!
No lines @1330. Maybe not all brands, but everything was available. Every aisle I went down had at least one or more people stocking.
Good vegetable and meat sections but crazy long line for self checkout. Only 3 of 4 checkouts were functioning and 2 entrances but 1 line made for alot of people cutting in front....and not in uniform either.
Very clean and organized. Everyone is very respectful of each by wearing a mask.
Very nice store! Very clean! The guys collecting the carts very super friendly.
1st time Ive ever been there. Was nicely stocked and plenty of room. Lackland Comm need to step it up!
Busy, but always show really great customer experience.
The commissary was packed with last minute holiday shoppers and only three registers open. Expect to spend awhile in the checkout line.
The number one thing I like Randolph commissary and forces Mass ID cards and distance which is a major major important factor my hands go up and I appreciate Im in the military also a1 awesome job
I always do my grocery shopping at the commissary. The prices save me money on almost everything. People who do not shop here are missing out on a benefit given to us. The store is clean, roomy and set up so conveniently. I personally appreciate this store.
Almost no organic fruits and vegetables. Poor enforcement of mask rule. But a good place to pick up the basics when youre running low.
Dorey was super kind too us.and helpful
The Commissary and Exchange are absolutely AWESOME but they should lower their prices
Nice, neat and clean.
Need to work on their produce department. The veggies look sad
Living off base I don’t go here as often as I should. My last trip reminded me how awesome the commissary is. So much selection at great prices. The Randolph commissary may be smaller than other commissaries but it still offers an impressive selection in every category.
Well stocked, clean and nice traffic flow for COVID-19 Compliance. Friendly employees and baggers as well!
A clean and very well stocked store with plenty of variety of food. Their meat department is well stocked with a good variety of meat, too, that I think is better than other big name stores. This store is good to compare prices and deals against other stores. I love coming here!
Jbsa Randolph selected storesEverything
We Love shopping at Randolph AFB Comissary. Awesome grocery and meat & produce market. The employees are genuine, Friendly and very helpful!I also love the variety of foods, a good many products are hard to get products that are specially ordered from other countries with the buying power of all the comissaries the prices are fair even on the specialty items.
Service connected veterans now have basic privileges. Been having a good time with my military brothers and sisters. Smart move by the military!!!
Discount items bring value to customer and tax free. Just like any store there are things that we shop for here and somethings we shop for out in town. I really like HEB for their produce.
What can you say about the base? The BX? The PX? Its all amazing if you have access. Go early on the weekdays for the best meat and veg. If its a holiday weekend, everything will be gone by 5pm Thursday before. My family has been shopping here since the 60s. Tip your basket workers!
This employee nancy was loud, rude and disrespectful to my wife and myself at the front door of the commissary. This level of embarrassment and disrespect to my wife, a guest of mine on this base and the lack of store management when i requested it is a direct reflection of this commissary and the management allowing the employees to demean and bully customers and guests. This is disgusting and lowest level of human decency by the management and staff of the Randolph commissary.
Really nice commissary! In my 32 years of military service I have to say this is hands down the best commissary I have ever been to. Great prices, large selection of various products and friendly helpful service. Parking is really good to.
Bargain prices on meat and most common household items.
Great service
Decent prices, but the shelves are empty on Saturday mornings. Why dont you have people stocking shelves at night?
Good options
Bad experience yet again! Reminded us why we stopped shopping here. The staff member, Saney who works the Express lane needs more customer service training. There were customers who were obviously in need of assistance and she did not provide it. The flow of customers waiting to use the checkout was not fluid in fact she made it more complicated. Im only giving 1 star because it would not let me post my comment unless I gave it at least one star, but just know I would have given 0 stars.
Large selection. Low prices. Only bad thing was 10 min wait even for military in uniform. Friendly staff. Very large deli selection. Fresh produce. Easy to see why the line was long. Would recommend to others who can shop there if you are not in a hurry.
Always very happy with the commisarry on Randolph. Not the newest, but well maintained. Only complaint is that they dont have a great beef 9r fish selection... ever. Been going for over two years now and you would think Texas would be able to supply some better beef. Otherwise 4 stars.
Today the commissary was out of a lot of regular items. But great service as always.
Lots of international food choices here and good meat selection!
Tried to go through the self assist lane. No limit posted.. But, was refused saying I had more than 40 items. I ended up having 43.... Seriously?! She was very nasty about it too... On the bright side.. The cashier I did use was super friendly...
I went through the self check and the system could not acknowledge light weight items like oil plug ins so my quick checkout turned out to be slower than norm checkout. The system need to be update to what HEB or Walmart has. Then I went to use a coupon where I wanted more than one of the item so I had two coupons one per item. The system would not acknowledge then the cashier helper told me I could only use one coupon per item per visit. Where do they do that? Shaw commissary. Wow.These are only a couple of reasons I do not normally shop ar the commissaries!
1 - they close too damn early on Sunday. Need to be more competitive on non-meat items everyday. Wal Mart will best your price on fruit and many vegetables
Found r everything on list...easy checkout
Self checkout was difficult other than that the produce was fresh and selections nice.
It was clean and safe. Customer service was great.
The size of this Commissary is okay. They are lacking some items I like to purchase, but nothing serious.
Shelves needed restocking, and I didnt see any stockers, strange for an early Monday morning. XL eggs, I went through at least 12 dozen cartons before I found one without broken eggs. No chicken thighs..they must have all walked away. Bread shelves were picked over. Guess customer service is not there priority anymore...so sad.
CROWDED. It was difficult to find a shopping cart, and even more difficult to move thru the crowded iasles. The lines to the registers were unprecedented, although the self check out did speed the exit for those with short lists.
Everyone was friendly and nice, helpful. Went to the commissary. Well stocked, freash fruit and vegetables. Workers were busy restocking. Found everything we were looking for! The cashier was friendly and nice! They bagged everything up for his and took it to the car. Helped us load the car. Ample parking. Lot was clean they kept the grocery carts from piling up. Store was neat and clean!
1. No ability to find products without walking and scanning each isle2. Surcharge (tax equivalent) entire purchase3. Have to tip baggers (or feel super awkward)4. Self checkout lanes very limited and equipment is slow.5. Facility is crowded, old.6. Some products are cheaper than of base, but some clearly are not. One would think all products should at least be somewhat cheaper.
