They do good work and are very honest. For oil changes and tires they are a must.If you have a problem. Make sure you know they charge 145.00 per hour for diagnostic work. That is more than most dealerships in this area. I was willing to drop 600 to find out if my car has an actual problem or not.

Quick, efficient service. Honest with an easy problem - my tire valve needed to be replaced. It was a $20 repair. They could have easily tried to sell me a new tire and didnt. I will definitely be back.

The best auto repair service I’ve ever had. Car broke down on a road trip and stopped here because of past reviews. They were able to take us in right when they opened and figure out what was wrong. Came in to the shop asking about a free tire inspection, as I’ve received from places back home (offered there). Seeing that I was on a very tight budget, Steve said that he would inspect the tires for free, even though it isn’t offered here. He then did more for me than I could’ve ever asked for. Sitting here in the waiting room, which is kept very nicely, I see that this has a “small town” shop feeling to it. Everyone that walks through the door is greeted by name, and I’m guessing they’ve come here over and over. For good reason. Can’t thank them enough for helping me feel safe going home.

This isnt a technical review. Its a professionalism and public health critique.Today, the news in the US is about a marked increase in Covid cases.Not only were the vast majority of the employees maskless the entire time, even in the customer waiting area, there was no signage asking customers to comply with the governors mandate. To make matters worse, the person I assumed to be the manager let out several significant coughs without even an attempt to cover his darn mouth. Again, this was in the customer area.I feel businesses and their employees should set an example even if they dont choose to challenge customers. I wonder how Goodyear corporate would react to Brown Tires behavior.

I was looking for a same day fix due to a flat tire. The lady who answered the phone was extremely pleasant, kind and helpful. I was in and out of there very fast as a walk-in.

Bought Goodyear tires for our daughters car. Very nice girl at check in. They got the tires installed fast and accurately. They seem trustworthy. I like the road hazard service. Will be back.

Oil change and tire rotation....except later noticed my tires were never rotated after waiting 2 hours. Not going back, but they were courteous and apologetic.

Treatment was very pleasant and felt no rush. Service was done well. And I was told that there was some needed service to be done but not pressured to get it done then. Also was given print out.

Took TWO separate cars there and both cars were damaged while in their care. Mechanics damaged oil gasket/seal ON BOTH CARS. First car, I thought it was just coincidence, yet, was the only place I took it for oil changes except the dealer, bought car brand new. Second car, dealer did all oil changes, took it to brown for ONE, the next time we went back to dealer, it was damaged, brown tire was only shop w access to car. In addition my passenger back tail light was slightly cracked when I dropped car off, NOT BROKE. Upon picking up the car, the entire light was broken through with a big hole in it. Brown tire claimed it wasn’t their fault as it was damaged when it came in. Very unprofessional and rude. Work is not quality and they will damage engine/car, it’s happened to me. I thought it was a coincidence with my first car gasket seal but once it happened with the second, wanted to spread the word. Don’t waste your money here

Have been using Brown Tire in Valparaiso for car repairs for 29 years, since moving here in October 1990. My four children (adults now) grew up in Valpo and had their cars serviced at Browns as well until they all relocated out of the area.I have always found Browns overall service (customer service included) to be professional and courteous. They have always stood behind the work performed, and if an issue arose, were there to address.I highly recommend them for your vehicles.

Bought all four tires awhile back and Im just getting them rotated to keep up with my warranty. They all are very nice people to talk with. I can trust there opinion on my vehicle. It didnt take long when I had my work done on my truck. I would highly recommend them to others.

Great service, decent price. Hada wait forever but thats def my fault. The person I spoke to when I called recommended I make an appointment but I had to go on my only day off. That just means business is reputable when its that consistently busy. Would certainly recommend, but do set an appointment if u can. 😉

I brought a tire in after hitting a pothole to be fixed or replaced. I DID NOT have an appointment and they had a FULL schedule. They told me they would try to slip me in and they DID. I only waited for 1 hour and I was out. They told me I needed a new tire which they had so my day was NOT wasted. THANK YOU Brown Tire!

They patched my tires. Had a slow leaking tire plug in the front tire that they fixed and also had a nail in the rear tire that they fixed as well. Just shy of $50. Thanks for the help.

I experienced good service from Brown Tire. I like that they text you to let you know your service is complete. I also got a call letting me know it was done. Dropping it off in the AM and getting a ride to work is a plus too. Ill continue to go back to Brown for tires and service work.

I called ahead to see if I should schedule an appointment for an oil change. I was told no appointment was necessary and to just come in. After 2 hours my vehicle was done. I asked if there was a better time to come in and was told I should make an appointment but they were booked that day. I think I should have been told that over the phone. I would never wait that long for an oil change.

I had 2 tires blow out on Route 30 due to very large potholes. Today, years later, I paid a bill for over $600, because 3 of my rims were severely mishapenly bent. One was my fault and was a recent incident. The other two were from years ago from the pothole incident. No one at Brown Tire ever said my rims were severely damaged. They just put tires over the damaged rims and sent me on my way. There have been no other incidents or reasons for those rims to be damaged. Brown Tire didn’t do their job.Addendum: In response to the response from Brown Tire, I never write a review that isnt true. I would never seek to harm a business out of some bizarre spite. What I originally posted was true. I was responsible for one of the rims being damaged. No other incident occurred except for the huge potholes on Route 30 that flattened my tires. My car drives absolutely fine now that the rims were replaced by Eds Car Care Center in Fort Wayne. Its not that I was mislead, its that you didnt carefully inspect my rims for damage. I can say that the flattening of the rims happened over time, but they were initially damaged to get to the point they were in when replaced in October, 2017. The owner of Eds Car Car Center described them as completely flat in some places, and then round, and then misshapen. This doesnt happen from normal wear and tear. Those potholes tore those rims up, and your company didnt do its job in inspecting them properly. The only way I knew something was even wrong with my car was the fact that the steering wheel vibrated horribly at a driving speed of over 60mph. Thanks to Eds Car Center and its owner, my car is now safe to drive. Its an irresponsible business practice to not fully inspect damage to the car being serviced, and its ridiculous to blame to customer for your lack of attention to the job.

My wife and I just moved to Valparaiso and were looking for a quality place to get car work done. Where I grew up in Ohio there is a wonderful place call Parrish-McIntyre Tire Co and if you look at the google reviews of the one in Medina on them they have an outstanding rating and well earned as we have always receive wonderful service from them. Were looking for a place like this in Valparaiso since we cant go to Parrish anymore, and love to do business locally. I came in with questions and transmission fluid job that needed to be done. I asked for a quote from their web site and received a response in 48 hours with what the cost was with labor and tax. I brought my car in and requested that they let me know the state of my transmission fluid and so they kept a sample to show me. I love when companies take time to educate their customers about their products or services and not just ask for payment. With a competitive price, friendly service, and willingness to educate, I hope I found a new loyalty to have both my cars serviced.

Great service .Had 10:30 appointment to put on a set of Goodyear Weatherready tires and I was on the road @11:20. Used Goodyear card for a $200 rebate and no interest for 6 months. Will be buying another set of Weatherready tires from Brown in 60 days for wifes SUV. Brown matched Discount Tire price and Brown is 5 minutes from my house . 5 stars.

We had exhaust trouble and pulled in late on a Friday (of a holiday weekend). Knowing we were headed out on Sunday for a cross-country road trip, they welded and repaired our exhaust system, For a reasonable price, and we were on the road. At least three of the employees that work at Brown Tire have very poor communication skills and disinterest in verifying they have the correct parts in stock. Because both issues could be very easily controlled and remedied I question the competence of the staff and will not return.

Unbelievable service!Had a major problem with my vehicle in that the transmission cooler totally went. I called them in the morning, before they actually opened, and they were able to get my car in that afternoon. As they dug into the problem, Steve kept me posted with their findings and options I had moving forward. Unbeknownst to anyone, the technician discovered a serious problem with my battery cables that could have potentially started a fire. Steve was quickly on the phone and informed of the situation. With the transmission cooler and battery problem they had the vehicle repaired and back to me within 24 hours.Great Job!

Went to replace all 4 brake pads last August (8/16) for almost $700. A steep price but I was okay with it for quality brakes and service. BUT 10,000 miles and 8 months later (4/16) my brakes were already worn and l pulsating whenever braking from 45+ MPH while causing vibrations in my wheel.I got the back brake pads and rotors done elsewhere because something needed to be done and I wasnt in Valpo at the time.I came back thinking theyd honor their work and get a discounted price on the front ones. Instead they quoted me at full price and said there was nothing they could do and that I need to pay full to replace pads and rotors AGAIN AS WELL as saying I need new front brake calipers. Quoting me at another $500.I know its rare for calipers to be bad and my brakes werent sticking and werent pulling the wheel (just pulsating and wheel vibrations). I went to another place got a second opinion and they said my calipers were fine. I ended up paying half price for more quality pads and rotors. My car is now driving fine.This place tries to up-sell you on things you dont need, uses cheap materials, and is expensive. I wont be coming back.
