Jeff and Angela (husband and wife owners of Able Auto) are the BEST. I started using Able Auto about 10 years ago. After using Able Auto for a few years I foolishly decided that Id try to find another mechanic who was closer to my house. I wanted to find one within biking distance of my house to make it more convenient to drop my car off when it needed work. But after trying and being disappointed by three different mechanics closer to my house I gave up and decided that traveling the distance to Able Auto was WELL worth it. They have always been honest and fair with me. They do what they say they are going to do, do it with quality and for the price they say they will do it for. They are professional and personable. And when I am facing a handful of repairs at once, they are always willing to talk through options with me and help me prioritize what really NEEDS to be done immediately verse what SHOULD be done sooner than later.

Amazing shop. Theyre truly there for service and not to nickle and dime you. I had to get a section of my muffler replaced to pass inspection one year and they were honest with me and told me they could fix it but it would be there times cheaper if I took it to a muffler shop. They worked with me to get my car to a local shop to fix that then get it back to finish the inspection. Truly remarkable and I cant recommend them enough.

I needed rear break pads and resurfaced or new rotors and they laid everything out without trying to sell it. I also asked to have the AC refrigerant topped off. Would definitely recommend them.

I appreciate the integrity of Able Auto. At a local dealership, I received a $5000 quote on repairs necessary for my car when I took it in for a recall. I went to another shop for a second opinion, and they did not do a thorough check of my car, like I asked, but told me that my front brakes needed to be replaced. Friends told me about Able, so they looked over my car and checked my brakes and found nothing substantial enough to repair or replace any time soon...including the brakes. They also took the time to explain everything to me. I am so impressed with the integrity of this business! They have a loyal customer in me for as long as I live in Virginia Beach!

My boyfriend and I have been taking our cars here a few years now and they are the most honest and understanding car place Ive ever been to. They dont try to up sell you on stuff you dont need done. If I dont understand something then they explain it to me. If you cant afford to get everything done at once then theyll let you know what work you should prioritize to keep you safe and your car running. Theyve fixed my car under their own parts warranty so the work was free. They have offered to give me a ride home after dropping my car off to get work done. I cant say enough good things about this place. My only advice is to call ahead and schedule an appointment because they can get busy, which they deserve because theyre so awesome!

I came in to see if I could have them take a look at my a/c since it was having issues. Not only was he able to get me in later that day with no appointment, he did some research into my cars warranty before I got back, and he said that it would be free to do it with the dealer rather than an estimated $800- $1,000. I really appreciated his honesty, and how informative he was in explaining the possible issue. I will definitely come back in the future for any possible issues.

I rarely write a review, the place either has to be exceptionally bad or exceptionally good. In this case Able Auto is the latter. Great customer service, great work, very fair price and always honest. Things that are hard to find nowadays. They are willing to go the extra mile for their customers and helped me find a part for my vehicle for $47 when another local, name-brand shop wanted to charge me upwards of $400 because they told me the only option was to order from the dealer. Able Auto doesnt try to put pressure on you for any specific auto work, they just tell you the truth and let you decide what you want to do. Highly recommend this business!

I first chose Able because of their location and hours, but have returned for what is now the third time to this shop. First of all, they will call and walk you through exactly what is going on with your vehicle. They explain whether its a safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately or whether you can wait awhile and save up. Their prices are fair, and their staff is honest. They maintain daily contact with you while your car is in their shop, and will not do any work without your pre-authorization.
