I had recently stopped by CAR DIRECT and got with JOE who helped me find the truck of my dreams at a price my pockets could more than afford. Joe made the process fun and enjoyable. When buying a used car or truck the process can be stressful, but not here. When purchasing a vehicle from this family owned and operated business working with JOE IS A MUST.

I bought a truck last week from Car Direct and the Salesman (Ryan) was great and easy to work with. The reason for the two stars is because Ryan promised to have front sensor fixed the following week but I’ve tried calling him and texting him to get my appointment setup and of course no response. Lesson learned, do not buy from this place until work is completed.

I have tried to buy a couple of vehicles from here. But every time I find a truck I liked, I contacted them through messages and called to see if it available and they told me it was and by the time I get to the dealership after we set up an appointment they told me it just sold earlier today. It has happened EVERY TIME and the last appointment I had which was yesterday the manager was the one that lied to me... all in all all I can say is they have nice vehicles but they will lie to you no matter what just to get you to come by the dealership... also they leave the pictures of popular vehicles on their site when it hasn’t been on their lot for weeks (another lie tactic to get you to their dealership) scroll through the other 1 stars you’ll see for yourself you can’t trust their website and they will prolly copy the same cop out answer on this review

No pressure car dealership. Ive bought several used cars over the years however this was my first time going through a smaller local dealership and I was very happy. Got a reasonable deal on my trade in and a great deal on my purchase. They also have a second dealership down the road a little ways (different name) so they have more selection than whats on their lot. Also the staff is very knowledgeable about the vehicles they have on the lot.

My husband and I purchased a 2014 Subaru STI on 7/9/20 from Cars Direct while we were on vacation in the area (we are from Colorado). I waited to write this review until today (7/15/20) as I wanted to make sure we made it home.I cannot say we were offered the best deal on the vehicle nor would I say we received the best customer service... but we WANTED this car and we made it work. Mike and his sales manager (I assume) would not budge on the price even though 2 of the wheels were curbed, all of the paint needs to be corrected due to heavy swirling, there was definitely an accident on the rear bumper... and a few hours after we purchased it, it threw a code for the O2 sensor. The car was supposed to be covered by their in-house 30-day warranty- I was told I would get a call back in regards to that but it never happened- we decided to let it go as in the end, we have the facilities to be able to correct any of the issues this car may have and we needed to leave for Colorado a couple of days after the purchase. The car made the 1800 mile drive back to Colorado with the only issue being THE CRUISE CONTROL DOESNT WORK. A huge deal to most, to us a minor annoyance. We were able to correct the O2 sensor before we left. All in all, we are happy with our purchase and very pleased with the car and I believe a 3 star review is more than fair. I would have rated our experience higher if I felt that the dealership and its staff would have been more accommodating, especially since I took care of all of our financing myself.

Then I ask him about the truck says he doesn’t even have it sold it days ago when he told me FOUR HOURS ago it’s siting on the lot ready for me to test drive. Walked around the lot for a little bit told him I was looking for a V8 in a truck and what does he do gets really pushy trying to sell me a V6 twin turbo yes they get more horsepower but not exactly what I was looking for.DO NOT GO TO THEM! I was sold a car that had a serious oil leak that mechanics ASSURED me was there before the purchase of my vehicle. After basically beating Ryan (manager) and Joe Minozzi over the head with phone calls, emails and diagnostics I was able to get them to pay for the maintenance. Ryan agreed to pay for the diagnostic fees as well (over $200) but shorted me when sending the check. When I called to try to get payment, Ryan said I didnt have to pay for any of it. Its not my fault. This is after he ignored my communications for over a week. Absolutely horrendous service after the purchase. Would never come back. They treated me like I just spent $25, not $25,000. And get this - when I had to make a deposit on the vehicle and didnt have cash with me Joe said that I could pay with a credit card. When I was told the fee was over $130 to use the card, Joe said Youll just have to eat it, dude. Appalling. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

Experience:Between this lot and their sister lot only a couple miles away, the few vehicles we chose to test drive had rather significant issues and were very unclean. While the sales people on both lots were very friendly and the main one we dealt with was EXTREMELY knowledgeable, that was the only positive experience there.Vehicle Experience:After finding a vehicle that we were extremely interested in, there was A LOT wrong with it. We went over the vehicle with a fine-tooth comb, identified all the issues to the sales person, especially the fact that the vehicles interior was filthy.Sales Experience:After addressing all of the issues, and still expressing interest in purchasing the vehicle, the price for the vehicle (even with everything significantly wrong with it) was well above Blue Book value on a vehicle in perfect condition. There was no wiggle room in the price, nor was there any offer from the dealership to repair the issues with the vehicle. We ended up leaving.Following up:As we live in North Carolina, we called back the following week to inquire more on whether they would come down on price or do any repair work to the vehicle and it was always we will get back to you. Against my better judgement, my significant other went back to the dealership, discovered that the vehicle basically hadnt had anything done to it (not even an interior cleaning) and ended up buying it anyway. She was talked into PURCHASING an extended warranty that would cover all of the issues we identified in the vehicle. They then detailed the vehicle and sent her on her way.The Detail:When she got the vehicle back, the interior had at least been thoroughly vacuumed out, as their was originally animal hair all throughout it, including the headliner! The exterior was a completely different story. The paint was in worse condition after their detail than while it was on the lot. It had swirl marks so severe, that it looked like they used a random orbit polisher with Scotch-Brite pads to do paint correction. It took me the better part of a week to correct all of the issues they caused on the paint (Adams Polishes for the win!)The Warranty:Buyer always beware. If warranties didnt make money, they wouldnt be sold. There are always catches and this is no exception. No matter what a sales person tells you, always read the warranty in its entirety and make sure you understand it before you agree to purchase one. The one that was sold was presented as covers everything on drivetrain, powertrain and certain other systems and specific conditions. Diagnostic fees are involved, which are not covered. The shop that works on your vehicle has to call in to the warranty company to get approval for each individual repair and there is quite a bit, that as we found out, they will not cover, even in systems like the drivetrain that are supposedly covered 100%.The out of pocket on this vehicle, even after the sale, continues to rise.*Word of advice to any would-be shoppers*From a former vehicle salesperson (myself): Do not get emotionally attached to a vehicle you are assessing. If a dealership does not attend to issues on a vehicle immediately when they are addressed, they have no interest in doing so, as that would require them to invest money into the repairs and therefore hurt their profit margin. The mindset in operating this way is that the vehicle will always sell and if not to you, there will be another sucker for that seat. Its a horrible practice and easily identified when theres issues identified, no offer is made to fix issues on their end, they dont want to haggle on price, and it feels like to you that they couldnt really care if you want the vehicle or not. Avoid dealing with places like this and always be ready to walk away. Listen to your gut instinct and if ever you dont feel right in the slightest bit, walk away.I can write more, but character limits...

I had called the morning I went to go look at a car to check and see if it was still there, was told yes it was and drove an hour and a half from Richmond to look at it and when I had arrived, I was told it was moved to another location because someone was buying it, then I got the run around about how they werent sure if I was talking about the car or my price range. They also wanted to much money for cars that you can find in much better condition for a better price elsewhere. Nor did anyone of them bother to call me and tell me that the car was moved and someone was buying it, nor did they put me on hold to go and physically check to see if the car I was asking about was still there. Its just a shady way of doing buisness and turns people off from wanting to purchase a vehicle.

Right now the only thing I dont care for is the online vehicles compared to whats on the lot (the lot isnt that big). Online has some trucks I didnt see on the lot. They getting these autos in with check engine lights on and somebody is disable them for a few weeks until you buy it and all of once lights pops on after you purchase it.I be real careful when you buy from them, my salesman Greg was good, but I am disappointed in management. This is my third time editing my review for this dealership. Long story short, almost a year later and I’ve had almost $10,000 in repairs done to it. At time of purchase I was given a “free” aftermarket warranty. Thought they where helping me out and giving me a deal. Well no, they just knew it had a million issues. Either they didn’t do any kind of multipoint inspection prior to the sale or ignored the issues entirely. $4,000 in repairs done in the first month of owning the vehicle. Be very careful and do a THOROUGH inspection of a vehicle before you buy from here. Bring your own mechanic if you can.

If you are military like we are, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! THEY WILL TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!!!!If I could give no stars, I would! We live in NC so when we found the truck of my husbands dreams here, we thought it was awesome! We made sure that before we ever drove up there that we were approved for the loan and everything! We were GUARANTEED to be in our price range and that we were approved so we made the 3 and a half our drive there with our 8 month old daughter in tow. We get there and everything seemed to be going good, until it got to the finance manager, Patrick. Thats when everything went south! We were then told that in order to be in our budget we had to put 2k down, if not the payment would be more than we could afford. Furious, my husband grabbed our keys and went to leave when Scott, the original salesman, started YELLING at him saying its not his fault and that we shouldve expected to put something down! First of all, we told him before even coming that wasnt an option. We kept asking for our APR and what the amount was for and how much payment would be, all being assured by Scott that it was a good rate and wed be in budget with no money down and a good price on our trade in. LIES. As we were leaving another salesman, Jason, approached us and gave us an idea for how to make our payment and make this work. He was the ONLY ONE who had our best interest in mind. Reluctantly, we agreed and signed the paperwork thinking all was good and the truck was ours! WRONG. Exactly 1 week later, they call to inform us that the loan was in-fact NOT approved and we needed to return the truck. How did we even leave the lot without an approved loan and signed ALL the paper work required to sign if the loan was approved??? We were even given an interest rate and monthly payment before we left that we signed and agreed to!! This place is SHADY no matter how you look at it! They even want us to drive AGAIN with my daughter to bring them back the truck and pick up our car!! Um, sorry but yall messed up the loan and everything, you can get your truck and bring us our car since all yall did was LIE from the start! Im not subjecting my 8 month old to another 7 hour round trip and $200+ in gas AGAIN for this horrible company! If you are military like we are, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! This company should be banned for military. They are all crooks and will lie to your face. Wavy 10 will be notified as well every social networking site. Save yourself from these false car dealers. They are in business based of the many lemons they have sold. Don and Ryan both do not care about anything but the commission.

This is the first time Ive brought a vehicle from a dealer and the experience was awesome. From the first time I talked with Gary Sawyer until we close the deal everything was perfect.

I went to this dealership after making an appointment to see a vehicle. Not only was the vehicle NOT on the lot, the man tried to tell me the managers were driving it to a meeting. Also was talking about they take the vehicles home on the weekends and such. I will never consider this place EVER. The man was suppose to send brochures of a type that same night and never did nor contacted me. I moved onto a place that actually sells low miles at a decent price. They were asking outrageous prices for old cars! No thanks.

They were friendly enough, but the salesman was not knowledgeable about cars. The first truck I looked at was rusted out underneath, he told me they do an undercoating so dont worry. Everything seemed like the stereotypical used car lot. Buyer beware.

At first they were good but when you find anything wrong with the vehicle they deny that its bad when clearly its broken. The truck i looked at you could move the whole front cv axle and they claim normal wear and tear. So i didnt even bother arguing with cause theyll do anything to get there money. Look at what your paying for is my only advice. Just cause it says certified doesnt mean it aint broke

This stealership is an awful place. Their motto painted onto their walls, which reads we do good things for other people, actually implies people other than YOU.I was looking for a 4-foot sedan last year to drive for uber, and after explaining the situation of jobless and potential homelessness on the brink pending confirmation for my driver position with uber, they immediately put me behind the wheel of a BMV out of my price range.Reluctant to purchase this vehicle, a sales associate, Jake Roulaine I believe it was, who claimed to be the son of the owner, tookme for a test drive to his house down the street, coaxed me into getting high with him and the friend I brought with me, then proceeded to explain that he was aware of my disinterest in the BMV, but that, it would make him look so good to his dad, and to the other associates at Cars Dorect, if Id just collect a check for the amount of the car from my bank, and just pretend to be interested in the vehicle; and that hed definitely find a vehicle I wanted, and if not Id be refunded.Under the influence, I went along with what he said, but little did I know thats was never going to see that money again, because they deposited the check immediately after giving it to them without leaving the lot in a car at all. For 2 weeks I tried to get reimbursement for the check with promises from the managers/owner that it was just a few days away from being returned, but Donny finally, broke the reality of the situation to me, in that I gave them a signed check, and it was not of their obligation to return any of it. And tha t I could either leave the lot with a vehicle for the same amount, or pay them for 2 weeks of storage fees, for a BMV I couldnt take home for lack of insurance coverage. They gave me a Jeep Liberty outside of the criteria guidelines I gave them, and made for a terrible year. Not only was there a good sized dent they refused to acknowledge, for the as is status of the sale, but 1 day after the 30 warranty, the vehicle started failing. It became a bottomless money pit, keeping me impoverished and unable to sell the vehicle without taking a huge loss, for they also sold it to me $3,000 more than it was worth, at the value of the BMW..Never again, and buyers be warned.

This place doesn’t deserve a star. Went there yesterday (7/13/2018) to look at a 2013 Hyundai Genesis coupe that I actually called to see if it was available and they said it was. I even told them I’d be there at noon to look at it and when I got there the guy went in to get the keys and came out literally 3 seconds later and said that they moved it to their other lot because someone else was looking at it to buy it. I was like alright whatever, and I saw a 2010 Subaru Impreza wrx hatchback 5 speed that caught my attention. So I went to look for that and asked for the keys and he said that there is a clutch problem and that it feels like it’s going to stall in first, but I can still drive it if I want. Um what? How can you let someone drive a car with that issue? Also, that sounds like more of a transmission problem if you ask me. The kicker is that they wanted 19K for it, and it had 103K miles on it. That’s literally 4K over kelly blue book value. But I leave still interested in the Impreza, I figure I can haggle the price down to proper value, and the salesperson takes my number and says he will let me know if the genesis is sold and when they fix the clutch issue on the impreza. Cool. Not even 5 minutes after I leave the lot he texts me saying that the genesis is sold. Alright, whatever. Today, the very next day, he texts me saying that someone came in and bought the impreza. What the hell? All of these negative reviews are true. I don’t know what kind of business they are trying to run but it’s obviously not a car business because they don’t like to sell people cars. This whole dealer and their website is a bait scheme. Not to mention all the 5 star reviews are fake and from random car dealers all across the country that were posted within a few days of each other. What a complete joke.****UPDATE**** 07/19/2018- I was looking on Craigslist to see if I could find a nice Impreza wrx for a good price. I scroll for about 10 seconds and see that car direct posted an add for the same 2010 Impreza wrx hatchback that I was looking at before, and when I look at the time of when it was posted it said 3 hours ago. THESE PEOPLE ARE CRIMINALS. The sales person literally texted me the very next day after my visit and told me that someone came by and bought it and paid it In full in cash. I’m literally astonished and so angry that these people are still in business and not in prison. This is false advertising and criminal activity at its finest. I wouldn’t be surprised if this dealer was a front for a drug dealing ring or something insane like that. These people need to be reported to the better business bureau and the police immediately. All of the employees are guilty of false advertising or conspiracy to commit false advertisement. Stay far away!
