Pictures lie. I ordered western omelette, and the pictures on the menu looks good. The breads on the pictures looked like they were homemade baked in the restaurant. My order took very long. I was shocked when I got it. The $11+ omelette was overcooked. It’s brown and spongy. Eggs were over whipped making it spongy. The onions were burnt. Finally, it did not come with the nice bread on the pictures. It’s just a slice of white bread toasted and cut diagonally. It’s so easy to cook an omelette, and they really messed this up. I want to give them just one star, but I’m going to be nice. Not coming back.
Did not meet expectations at all. Who doesn’t love kebabs and some awesome Mediterranean food? With a sad heart I say that you probably won’t like it here. I called for take out and asked for their doner kebab plate, but of course all they had was chicken, which was a huge let down and a big problem for a place with such a greater variety. So I got chicken kebab, disappointed I couldn’t try their beef and lamb, but still with high hopes for sole awesome chicken (I mean, hard to get a chicken kebab wrong with such great flavors, right?). Then the employee told me that they had a new policy making customers pay for takeout before they came in, but when I tried reading my card numbers to him for at least five minutes, he did not understand me, their policy fell through, and he told me to pay in person. He also did not tell me my total over the phone. When I came to pick it up, I also bought some baklava that looked awesome in the window, and my total of the chicken kebab plate and baklava, no drink and nothing extra, came out to $28, which was upsetting, but I’m too nice to say anything in the moment. It all looked awesome, but I wish I could’ve eaten it with my eyes. Okay, it wasn’t torture, but it was extremely underwhelming. Chicken was a little tough in some areas, not as juicy as I’d hoped, and had virtually zero flavor, despite it being covered in their beautiful orange marinade. The baklava was great, but nothing super special. The best thing was definitely their rice, which was actually really exceptional, but overall I was not satisfied with the meal at all. Very underwhelming and overpriced, and not very good service. Would definitely advise against coming here, and I know this might seem harsh after coming once for one thing, but I can’t imagine their other dishes would fulfill my hopes either - I’m confused why it has 4.4 stars. Sorry Mosaic, I wish I wish it was better!
Had my breakfast and lunch on my last day at the beach. Definitely quite a few selections on the menu. Was able to get the family with simple bacon and eggs. I would have to say I am more impressive with the Turkish food during lunch. The Adana kebab wrap was tasty and close to the real thing. Good little spot to try it out if you are around.
Great variety! Delicious, healthy, and filling smoothies (non-alcoholic). Waffles, pizza, and other food items are available as well. They sold out of the watermelon smoothies, but the cantaloupe and pineapple smoothies were fantastic! Mosaic Cafe offers several varieties of healthy smoothies, including smoothies containing kale and spinach. Though a bit pricey, the portion sizes were great (shareable and plenty of bang for your buck) and you feel better knowing its not just tasty but its healthy too.I like that they dont add any preservatives or extra sugar to the smoothies, its all natural. They offer many flavor combinations for smoothies, infused water, and other items on the menu. The $11.99 cantaloupe or watermelon smoothies were large enough to share. The largest watermelon smoothie on the menu was $19.99 and comes with fresh fruit kabobs. The lemonade was refreshing and comes in a large to go cup for a little over $5.Mosaic Cafe also offers Turkish coffee and tea. The restaurant has an old world vibe and is cozy. The staff followed social distancing guidelines. Service time was pretty fast, especially considering how many people they serve. This should definitely be one of your boardwalk stops when visiting VA Beach. We cant wait to go back again!
So 31 dollars for 2 chicken gyros. No French fries or soda or anything else, thats extra. Gyros were not bad, but by far not the best Ive had and for much less with more food. If youre gonna charge basically 13 dollars a gyro, include the fries to at least make me think Im getting my moneys worth. But honestly just give me more Turkish food with my Turkish food. Fix the prices or portions, not coming back otherwise.
This is lovely and casual place with authentic Turkish food. We had a chicken wrap and falafel platter: both delicious! The falafel were cooked to perfection and were sitting on delightful hummus accompanied by amazing bread. And seeing a sand station dedicated for making authentic Turkish coffee, we had to end the meal with the classic drink! It did not disappoint at all!! Did not need sugar or anything!
Had the absolute worse coffee of my life. I guess the server didn’t know how to brew a fresh batch. Two stars because the food looked good but we didn’t try any of it. We just needed our caffeine fix and it was apparently just way too complicated for this place.
We bought Pepperoni Pide, Mosaic egg Pide, Chocolate chip pancakes, Turkish coffee, coffee with milk, baklava, piña colada, and watermelon smoothie. Everything was excellent! Compliments to the chefs. Service was amazing. Friendly staff. Thank you for the free baklava. Clean restaurant and bathrooms are not bad. Great experience. *Pictures are of our leftovers*
Welcome to an eatery like no other with a taste of Turkish food fare. From the outside you are greeted with colorful menus beckoning you inside as you discover the menu. There are plenty of options to choose from. The interior is magical with colorful lanterns, ornately decorated tapestry, and Turkish drinkware on display. The menu is large and just as bright at the ordering counter.I ordered a mosaic omelet, one pancake, and a Turkish coffee. My partner ordered a pizza combo with a canned coke. Be mindful that since the food is made fresh itll take a moment. So dont come hungry. The wait was a little bit long, but not too too bad. The coffee came out in a tray and has three (3) servings per carafe. There is no sugar or creamer for it on the tray. Youll have to get the liquid creamer half and half by the utensil area. They should offer a cup to pour and take it back to your seat or give you a small cup of milk with your coffee. When I took the creamer bottle to my table, a server came by to pick it up and put it back before I could pour some on my second cup.The omelet was really good. It came with half bread that was sliced. I would hope they consider changing the side or you choose a side with the omelet. It was an ok side, but only ate one slice. However, the omelet was great!! The pizza was well made and quite cheesy. The only drawbacks are that the customer service was okay. Could have been a bit more friendlier, welcoming. The menu is all day and there are no kebab options. They will serve your food to you and yell out your number. So wave and theyll bring it to your table.I saw a server drop and bottle of cleaner and wipe it up off the ground with a dish towel. The same dish towel from the ground was also used to wipe down the table. So that was quite a surprise. Shortly thereafter we got our things and left.
The best surprise on the beach. Delicious food, amazing drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere.I would recommend this little restaurant a hundred times over. VA Beach Hidden Gem-PS Get the Turkish Breakfast you wont regret it.
Strolling down Atlantic Avenue I wandered into the Mosaic Cafe and was looking for something fresh and healthy. It has a very easy atmosphere, slow down and appreciate the present. I ordered a Mosaic salad and wanted some protein on top as well. They grilled some chicken for me and put it on top of the salad. Everything was very fresh, the greens, with feta cheese, craisins, walnuts, thinly sliced green apples with fresh balsamic dressing...It was amazing.
The food is good. The coffee is strong. The decor is great. The only problem was the condensation on the air conditioning vents. So sit at table along the walls.I am coming back.
Oh my this is a must have in Virginia Beach! They make these drinks in hollowed out pineapple and coconut that are worth every cent. The food is Turkish inspired and absolutely the most flavor filled food on the strip. It is mostly Halal safe and very fresh. We need more places like this everywhere. The staff was very kind even when a lady got upset about her pizza, the staff was wonderful in dealing with her more than obnoxious self. The prices were fair and the least of what I thought about while I ate. Cannot suggest enough!
It was a great place with good atmosphere. Only problem were the customers that wouldnt stop complaining about the service time. I mean its a beach town, youre on a vacation! Relax a bit Karen. The food was really good. The smoothies were on point. The coffee was as expected. Thanks for the experience guys
Great food, excellent customer service. The pepperoni pizza was delicious and I usually have an upset stomach after eating pizza, I had no stomach problems which made it even better. The regular burger was not regular at all, so fresh and tasty, everything that we ordered was GREAT, we ate there twice, thats how good the food was
This was a fantastic place to get food. My husband and I are pregnant with our first, so we decided to take a little vacation at VA beach to enjoy our time alone together before the baby. They make some seriously fantastic coffee - smooth, strong, and hot. I enjoyed walking there and getting coffee in the mornings. Not only that, but they have very fresh smoothies. Their dinner food is also fantastic. I ordered their falafel wrap, which was fresh and delicious. Not only that, but the employees were lovely. I definitely recommend stopping by this restaurant.
We did not order food. We ordered some of their specialty drinks. The drinks were amazing. The service was not good at all. 35 minutes after ordering we had not received our drinks. When we asked about them they had actually forgot to make them. They lost the order. When the forgotten drinks arrived they were not good at all. We kept being told it’s coming. So, they are capable of being amazing but not interested in consistently providing the level of service their prices should command
Great service, very nice people. The food was wonderful. We got it to go and were very pleased with everything.
The food I ordered was just ok as it lacked seasoning or some type of flavour to it. Being a Mediterranean myself, makes me a harsh judge but if a place is going to be as pricey as this one, least offer flavorful food. Though the smoothie I ordered was good.
Drinks are to die for, and the food was really good too, service was quick and not overpriced. So 5 star for sure!
Beautiful cafe with amazing food. We went there everyday for brunch and we were never disappointed. They also have these amazing artworks in the restaurant that are also for sale. The 2 beautiful ladies that work there were super nice and easy to talk to. I will definitely go back whenever Im in the area!!
Due to covid-19, the kitchen is closed so they are not making any meals right now. They told me they should reopen the kitchen back up in August. With that said, unfortunately we headed here for brunch but were disappointed :(They did serve fruit and beverages so we ordered a mango with chilli sprinkled on top, an iced latte and fruit smoothie. The iced coffee lacked an espresso punch, it was a bit watered down so I didnt really enjoy it. The mango was great and refreshing on a hot day.I loved the Turkish aesthetics and decor of this place so Im giving it more stars but also because their food looks good and probably is. Also they offer dining-in right now!
Staff is super friendly and helpful! Food was AMAZING!! We come to Va Beach every yr for vacation and this is one spot that we always have on our list to visit before we leave. Great experience from start to finish! 😊
Turkish coffee the real dealDelicious Turkish breakfast was fantastic
Food was good. Large portions...couldnt finish my burger! Husband had a pite and really enjoyed it! Nice atmosphere there.
Wow! Ive never had a Mango con Chile and now, it has to taste like this one. The roll ups were vanilla base, strawberry and mango on top, which was delicious, I recommend it but the hit for me was the mango con Chile. The place is quaint and I was admiring the decor. What caught my attention was the drawings outside of the restaurant. When I go back to VA Beach, I will definitely be visiting this spot again. Next time, I will try the coffee!
Beautiful and clean place. Gives you many halal options. Ambiance is really nice too.
Customer service was lacking! Should stay away from Italian food. Stick to Turkish cuisine and smoothies. Food took forever.Dont go here, if you are in a hurry!
This place was absolutely ridiculous! The long wait that I had to sit through with 2 children was absolutely unacceptable. I had a simple order, pizza and fries seems easy enough right? NO! it took upwards of 60 minutes just for this one order to be completed, I gave them benefit of the doubt and figured it was just a fluke since they have good reviews, but once again this restaurant decided to disappoint once again. I placed another order for a smoothie and the cashier at the cash register decided to put the tip in without me verifying first, I am a business man myself and that is absolutely unacceptable. Last but not least the AC was leaking onto the chairs and once I sat my bottom became soaked! Safe to say, I would never visit this place again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
Absolutely amazing food. The cleanest restaurant I’ve been to at VA beach. The decor is beautiful!
Good food but the cashier got my drink wrong and I specifically told her what I wanted& the nice man came out and gave me the correct drink
A great place to experience/partake in the traditional way real deal Turkish coffee is brewed. Even the girl brewing and serving is from Turkey. She explained how to drink it with the chocolates and sips of water in between tasting the coffee. I had two servings and it really set me free:)! Cant speak on the many food choices, although, well definitely be back next year to try the delicious looking entrees! My thank you to all the staff for your great service!
Waited 45 minutes for 2 wraps. When I asked how much longer, the staff girls looked confused and walked away. I stood there another few minutes and finally got another staff member’s attention. I asked if the order was ready or if I should ask for a refund. Got the refund and zero explanation about what happened to the order, and left hangry. There were only 2 other tables with customers in the restaurant, and 2/3 of the front staff were just standing around. Customer service fail.
Great food, very clean place and very professional people. I will come again and again....
Not happy with the sandwiches we got today. Waited 25 minutes for our food. We were the only ones in there. Our food finally came to us after the two gentlemen came back in from outside… after smoking. The sandwich we ordered tasted like nothing special. Just a little hummus and what seemed like a whole onion. Gross. Wouldn’t recommend. And wouldn’t go back
A little bit of a wait and we had to remind them to bring the coffee and smoothie we ordered but the menu is authentic, almost all halal for those who are interested- the pancakes with Nutella and fruit were delicious! Strong coffee!
Loved the food here. The their pides are fantastic. I really wanted to get their drinks but I was too full from the main course. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall great place
The food is very good. (especially kebab)Presentation is great.
Turkish kitchen in fast food style. Not so fast but very tasty.
I came to the USA to work as a foreign student and spend the summer, but the first impression was not the best due to the fact that I ended up with a terrible employer with whom there were a lot of problems, but thanks god that I found Mosaic cafe, which in many ways changed my impressions of America and the time I spent there was really cool.I would like to say a special thanks to the owners of the Mosaic - Hakan and Emre, who helped me a lot and it was a pleasure to work with them. I changed a lot of jobs while being in the USA and nowhere they treated foreign students like they did in Mosaic cafe. The food is really high quality and tasty, the owner of the restaurant (Hakan) is trying very hard to make the best possible service for customers.I would also like to note the cleanliness of the kitchen and all sections in the cafe - they are really very clean, everything in order to make the customer experience cool.I will really miss the time spent in the Mosaic, it was really cool and I was very happy to work with Hakan (the best). You rarely meet such a hardworking, kind and open person who is ready to help you in everything, not sparing his time.I wish them all the best 🖤Hakan happy birthday!
One of the best burgers in town, even better that it was halal. Great food. A bit pricey but given the location and taste, totally worth it.
It looks interesting from the outside but the food is just as fine as every other burger joint on the boardwalk
Walked from our hotel to an old favorite spot on the oceanfront only to be told that it was a 45 minute wait (on a Tuesday night!). A quick look at Google maps had this place around the corner so I callled to see if there was a wait, and there wasn’t so we decided to check it out. So glad we did!I’m not an expert on Turkish cuisine, but now I’m a fan. All five in our party immensely enjoyed our meals, and the restaurant even gave us a plate of baklava for free.Great food, serving size well exceeds what you’d expect for the price. Polite and professional service went beyond expectations.
We are locals, we wanted to try something new, this was definitely not the place I recommend. I hate talking bad about restaurants however we came in and ordered our food, we went to sit down and there was water dripping from the ceiling all over the table. I also understand they are under staffed however we waited 45 minutes for 1 pancake and an omlette. When our food came the pancake was SOUR. The most disgusting pancake I have ever had. When my moms order had come they had messed it up but we didn’t want to send it back and have to wait again. I wouldn’t go there again especially for the wait.
Friendly. Prices decent for a tourist town.
Loved the Burger Combo! Everything was fresh and tasty, I would go again anytime came back to the VA Beach!
Wow... what great food. Fresh vegetables and the Adana was seasoned REALLY well.Tastefully decorated and clean environment.Really happy we found this place!!!
Had Americano with my wife and croissant...good as it gets. Be patience when you come here as they are busy and made as you order...but worth it. Decor is awesome. I will try smoothie next time.
Loved this place. Got the turkish breakfast for two and Ate. Every. Bite. Minus 1 star bc the ac sinple dripped from the rafters instead of cooling the place and they over steeped the black tea. But i will be back for some Pide!
The food was really great and the workers were super nice! the decorations were absolutely beautiful!
This place is the worst place I have excerpted been too it’s a joke food is the worst I’ve ever had asked for over easy eggs got a smash hard boiled egg ; potatoes tastes like cardboard. Omg I would not feed that to my dog
Delicious turkish food and breakfast, fast service and reasonable pricing.. well done!!!
Everything was delicious. Great food and service 👌 Ill be back soon.
Just arrived and was hungry. Found this gem here. The food, service and atmosphere was great. I Tried the Turkish coffee and they even made it the traditional way with hot sand and chocolate. She even explained how to drink it so you get the best mix of flavors with the coffee and chocolate. I had the chicken le curry. It was seasoned great and didn’t have that bad of a kick to where it was un-enjoyable. I would definitely go back again. Especially for the coffee. You have to try it.
The waitress was super friendly and gave my doggo water. The pides are good and so are the wraps. Definitely get a smoothie. So Fresh and tasty! They use all fresh fruit 🤤 rice pudding is also delicious. The decor inside is beautiful. Cant wait to go back.
Got some fresh coconut water and daughter got a smoothie. Very refreshing and delicious and the place was clean and comfortable loved it
Incredibly delicious food!!! we got the street corn and a mango chile smoothie along with a veggie pide and fries and it was an amazing choice! wonderful experience will come back again
Absolutely love this place! Great experience, food is amazing and theres no pork!!!! 🥰
We liked this place the most while visiting came a few times both take out and dine in. Loved the beautiful lights, atmosphere was pretty and service very good and so nice, very comfortable place to be. If we visit again I will look forward to visiting here again.
Good to have Turkis food for the first time.
Good breakfast, great all fruit smoothies and nice strong coffee!!
Amazing Turkish coffee... The menu calls for many return visits..looking forward to the pistachio baklava next time.
We found this by accident as our first choice was closed. Some of our party was not as adventurous as myself but we found plenty traditional American options for them. I want to go back and try the Turkish breakfast. I am not sure what the parking options are.
Great food, great company - staff is very friendly - Hakan, the owner, the cashier, was very cooperative, friendly and kind - smoothies were the best, I got the cantaloupe 🍈 smoothie and was served in real cantaloupe and taste was amazing -They have variety of pizzas, Turkish Pides and other sandwiches and kabobs as well - tried Adana Kebab and Sucuk Pide - all taste great 👍
Me and my boyfriend go here each year for pide its amazing . 👏
Best coffee and early morning food definely try this place out it was amazing
Atmosphere was great. Food came out pretty quick and was hot and good! Would come back.
Definitely I recommending this place very clean nice service and good food also delicious taste they have.Thank you guys for service.
Loved it here! The food is delicious and the smoothies are amazing!
What a wonderful place!Delicious food, a peaceful oasis with a great and delicate ambience and soft turkish music. A quiet place, which serves a REAL TURKISH COFFEE AND TEE. All good is made in premises. They even have Kynefe and baklava...
Good food but service could he improved. I asked the staff to bring me another cup of tea. He said yes begrudgingly and totally ignored the request. I waited for 20 minutes, ordered a cappuccino, and left. The cappuccino could have fresher milk. It tasted like the milk was about to go bad.
Friendly, helpful and calm staff, great Turkish food and smoothies. We enjoyed our meal and wish to stay in Virginia Beach more.
This food was amazing and fresh. And the service was also great and one of my new favorite places.
