I’m giving this place only 1 star. Simply because I think it was unfair that my brother was reprimanded in front of employees/customers for having a mask in his hand after an employee gave him the mask in the first place. Prior to this I use to shop every year to purchase accessories/costumes but that experience left a poor taste In my mouth. If you want to lock up customers items because you’re terrified of people stealing, fine. However, you should train your employees what the procedures are and handle the situation that doesn’t make an innocent customer feel like a complete thief. My brother spent $70 on a mask that doesn’t even fit him. But how would he have know that if he wasn’t able to try it out in the first place. A worker also could’ve pointed out that it was a size small indicated by a tiny “s” inside the mask, but I digress. They also have a no return policy so he can’t even swap it for another one. Ridiculous in my opinion. Just do better please. I understand it is around Halloween time, but being busy still means being professional. Customer experience is just as important as the overpriced costumes.

This place is like a huge closet of amazing costumes!!!!! We spent 4 hours here having a blast figuring out costumes. The staff is so knowledgeable and creative. We had a world of fun!! Thanks for making our Comicon weekend an A+

This place has so much costumes that you wont find in a traditional Halloween store. It is definitely still geared towards female. Male costumes very difficult to find.

I stopped in too get some input on a couple of parasols I have. I cant recall the owners name. But she was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The inventory in the store was incredible. You can tell this is a labor of love. If I ever dress up for Halloween or have a costume party to attend. This is definitely the place I would go to.

I absolutely love the selection, the creativity, and the staff at Echoes of Time! Weve been customers for years for themed parties, super hero bar crawls, and comicons. We cant wait to create more memories with costumes and vintage clothes from Echoes. If you need help with a costume let the staff help you. They are so creative and artistic!

Love this place. I get the majority of my costume items here to include Ben Nye makeup(best out there) & Gothica contacts. Anyways, I FB messaged them on a day they are closed & they responded withing 10 minutes. This place is a local treasure!

Staff is incredibly helpful and courteous. Kathy helped me put together my entire 70s look! Prices are great! I will definitely come back again. I highly recommend this shop! Excellent choice for costumes old and new

As far as selection goes, this place is awesome. I didnt purchase anything but I enjoyed browsing and would definitely return should I have need for an awesome costume. Some items could certainly use a good dry cleaning but perhaps that is something youre supposed to do on your own

I started coming here a few years ago when it was recommended by a friend. My grandmother and I are just now leaving the store and this rating is because of how a staff member spoke to me. I came in looking for robes/kimonos and was asking about one particular kimono I was interested in. I asked an older woman working in the back, Cathy, if it was also marked at the rental rate of $25, because I couldnt see a tag, and she snapped at me Whatever the rental price is! Come to find out, it wasnt even supposed to be in that section because its real and out of my price range. I left shortly after. Ive never had an issue with the staff until today. My Grandmas first time here. Glad she didnt ask Cathy any questions!!!

We came here looking to get my Halloween costume, as Im a bit chunky and it can be hard to find something at places like Spirit Halloween. Not only did we receive excellent service - the sales people really helped us find exactly what we wanted for me and for my boyfriend. Whenever I need a costume or am looking for a vintage item in the future - I already know that I will be coming here. They not only have the main pieces, they also have plenty of accessories.

I get my victorian dresses/ any corset dresses here. They are great quality and great prices for the dresses. The staff is so helpfully. They picked out a dress for me that honestly i thought i wouldnt like but i love it. Its my favorite. You can buy or rent they have everything you need shoes, makeup accessories. Youll defiantly find something.

Whatever you need, you are pretty much guaranteed to find it here. The customer service is awesome as well! Love this place!

Its a nice store full of great costumes and other items. Staff was friendly both times we went in and the place is as clean as its going to get I guess. Great selection but saw a dress I wanted and sadly not in my size. Other than that its a nice place to venture around in when you want to rent or buy a costume or even something to wear all the time like some of the vintage dresses. Would like to see more kid selections.

When I run out of time, I go to Echoes of Time. They have an impressive selection of retail and rental items from a large cross section of genres. My friends and I go to a lot of costume parties and themed events. We are constantly putting together outfits and creating costumes... When there is something specific and I dont have the time to create my own, I go to Echoes of Time for help. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. It is nice to be able to tell them exactly what I am looking for and have them know what I am talking about. The stop strives to carry the best quality for the price range. The only way I would be more happy with the costumes is if I made the myself.They have everything from theatrical contact lenses to shoes and can literally dress you from head to toe. They get new items in all the time and I am always excited to see what I will find every time I visit the shop.It is the best costume shop Hampton Roads has to offer.

If youre looking for a costumes they have everything that you want. If youre looking for anything specific I suggest that you call ahead of time and order it. I went in looking for a storm costume and they had it but not the version that I wanted but that was my fault for not ordering it. I found out that I could order it over the phone cuz I did call they were very friendly over the phone and offered all the assistance that I needed. When I got there they were the same way. I ended up leaving with a costume that made me look like a butterfly fairy I loved it. I would recommend anybody looking for any type of costumes even if they dont have it they will definitely try to put it together piece-by-piece. They have a lot of different selections so if you were looking for a specific costume this is definitely the place to go

Expected big of this place based on reviews. Oh, how unrealistic I could have been. The owners seemed very impersonal and unfriendly, required me to put my purse in a locker before entering (what?), and gave the impression that they viewed themselves as above me. Wont be coming back; Ill be sticking to online stores. It pains me to write a poor review, but it is what it is. Very uncomfortable.

I am doing this review with deep regrets. Only because I am selfish like that. I want it all. I stopped in here while visiting and I left broke. Damn this store for having such amazing stuff. I am loving everything that I bought while there. Looking like a negative bank account for me. I cant stop myself. This place has everything that a designer and stylist could possible want in the vintage area. Costumes are floor to ceiling amazing. The ladies were beyond helpful and didnt bother me while I was shopping but VERY available when I had questions or wanted to see an item. Dont miss this wonderful place. This place is the need to go when you need something different from the mall clothing stores. It look overwhelming the first but if you really star looking through you will find clothes that in the mall are alot more money. And ofcourse there are alot of vintage clothes that all the girls would love to mix it with new clothes and have some instagram pics. How ever the Halloween fans are for a treat in this store. They have few isles full of treasures. This store by far has the most stuff for Halloween. You need to visit this store even if you think you are not going to like it. I bet will be some there that you will love it. Enjoy it. Did I mention that they have an excellent sale? You will find out when you going there.

The staff was very excited to hear about my costuming adventures at DragonCon in Atlanta. I went in for accessories and make up and was not disappointed. They asked me to come back by to show them the completed projects. It was nice to talk to people who are clearly excited about costuming and geeking out.Their Harry Potter costumes are simply amazing. I think they may want to invest in some solid Pokemon (actual Pokemon, not just Team Rocket) since the franchise is back on the rise.

Rented an ELMO costume for my sons 1st birthday party which consisted of 300 guests (50 - 75 of them were kids). ELMO never showed up as he was supposed to. I went to the company the next day to find out WHY Elmo Never showed up....they told me the Actress Forgot....I was VERY UPSET...and could not believe that it happened. No contact number was given to me....but I did receive 2 email confirmations that ANGIE the ELMO actress knew the date,time and place of the PARTY! Extremely disappointing to all the kids were wore RED to meet, greet and play with ELMO as stated in the invitation! Something I will NEVER EVER forgot---very embarrassing to all my guests and extremely heartbreaking!
