This truly saddens me to write this review about the experience today because the lady Adrian who did my hair has the best personality. My color was left in for an extensive amount of time and my glasses were ruined along with my skin being dyed all the way around the edges of my hair line. I truly feel that if she had the staff to lighten her load this could of been prevented but she was answering phones, dealing with walk in questions, and 2 other appointments during mine I was there from 2pm to 7pm and walked out with damaged glasses, dyed skins and frizzy hair honestly I was holding my tears back until I walked outside. I’m leaving out of town Thursday for a life changing event and this has sent my anxiety through the roof. Owner please contact me

I go there to see Adrean. She has never disappoint. Last week I scheduled an appt at 4:30 for a color and haircut. Because the color I wanted she worked on my hair for 3 and 1/2 hours. Even she had plans for that evening she worked an hour after closing to ensure I was happy with the results. Not only dedicated and loves making people feel good about themselves but very kind. Maghen is an excellent hair stylist! She colored and styled my hair today. They are all excellent! Didnt she do a great job, though? So remember to come to Fantastic Sams on Melrose Avenue in Vista, CA. All if their stylists are extremely talented! Jenn, Adrianne,, Maghen, and Rosie have all worked on my hair and have done a marvelous job. There are a couple other stylists at this site, but they havent all worked on my hair, yet, but I know that anyone who works at this particular Fantastic Sam is the best! Koo no

First experience my hair turned out a disaster but Adrian, the manager, went out of her way to ensure my hair was fixed properly, looked great and was honest on what she thought was best treatment for my hair. Not concerned about making more money. I appreciate the honesty, even though I was unable to get the highlights I wanted she explained she cared more about damaging my hair at that time. She welcomed me to come back every month to try a strand test again until my hair is able to tolerate the treatment. That meant more above all else.

Theyre following guidelines- always wearing masks, nobody allowed in without them. Treated myself to a perm. Alma always does a good job!

Was pleasantly surprised by good color and highlights. They seem to be very tentative about their cuts though. Whenever I have asked for 3+ inches off or for pronounced layers, they dont seem to do all that much to make the difference I was asking for.

Had a Groupon to use up. I called the salon and they told me to walk in as I just needed a haircut. From start to finish, it was a WONDERFUL experience! The salon is clean and well staffed. The stylists are knowledgeable and skilled. Adrienne cut my hair to perfection. I would recommend the following: Haircuts are on a walk in basis BUT once you are in the system you can call in for a appointment with the same stylist. If you need a more complex procedure like highlighting, call first. Also this salon will not take people when its 15 minutes to closing, so plan accordingly. I went today, Wednesday. I would imagine weekends might be more challenging. Altogether a wonderful experience, I will be going back. Did I mention that Im a cosmetologist too?

The first time I went here I received a decent highlight and haircut but that was the only time I had service. Location was very convenient and close to home. After returning, stylists arent very friendly, if they are busy they dont know how to figure out wait times or offer suggestions of what might work for them. This happened on several occasions I attempted to get a haircut, I just stopped bothering at this location.

I got a voucher from groupon so I called before coming in to make an appointment for a haircut but the lady told me that I could just do walk-in. Went there, saw a couple people before me so I decided to check-in assuming that the waiting list isnt that long but later on, a few people came in and I found out that they had appointments so I had to wait for more than an hour. My stylist, Rosie, did a pretty decent job with my haircut tho so the star is for her. If I didnt have the voucher, I wont go here. Never again.

Haircut was ok. What I could not stand was listening to the stylists personal situations, clothing and eating habits. I go to get my hair cut. Light mutual conversation is appreciated. When the conversation is only about the stylists personal issues it becomes uncomfortable. I will not go back.

Really upsetting visit. Came here for the first time ever they made me waitig up to 30 mins with out even getting greet till I speak and said I haven’t been help. Then still waited for like 20 mins more longest hair cut visit. Two other people went before me.

I have been going to Jennifer for a few years now. She is amazing... She has great customer service, she listens to what I actually want and makes great suggestions. Definitely would recommend this location.

Walked in and sat down. The two ladies working did not say hi. They gave me weird high school looking me up and down vibes. So I left. I dont want a HC by women who are in a bad moods.

If I could give less than one star I would. This establishment is completely unprofessional. The manager working there is so rude, degrading and racist. She completely ignored my elderly 70 year old grandmother when she came in to complain about one of the establishments hair dressers completely messing up her hair then had the audacity to tell her very rudely I might add too, that it was her fault for choosing that hair cut. Shes 70 years old! Have some respect & understanding. And then after my grandma & I were leaving she slammed the door in our face after refusing to fix my grandmas hair. Will never go back to this establishment again with this kind of unprofessional, extremely rude management running the business.

Alma Cerda is the best hairdresser in Fantastic Sams Melrose Vista CA, she really knows how to treat her customers and please them with the hair cuts they ask and works that make them feel happy and satisfied.

ABSOLUTELY WORST place EVER to get a haircut!!! I went in earlier this afternoon for them to trim my bangs. Worst bang trim ever!!! She was super lazy! She made my bangs look in between straight across and side-swept. The part that is supposed to look straight is completely crooked! Looks as if though she used a lawn-mower. Never going back there again thats for sure. And shes the manager there! Even worse! You make the rest of your salon look bad. And learn how to properly chew gum. You and your hairstylists look like damn cows!!! Ill make sure not to refer anyone there. Thats a promise!!!

Nice people, very polite and accommodating. But they are not good at haircuts. Totally cut my daughters hair uneven, I had to go somewhere to fix it.

I love this place I have been going here for over a year now I moved and I still come back.. I cant speak for all of the girls but Stephanie is awesome and the products she uses to color hair are amazing

7E2-20B: Went there few more times since the first visit. Those visits were normal and I got good haircuts. Also, I like their coupons which come in the weekly grocery ad mails. Based on this I changed the rating to 4 stars.First visit (1 star): Went there around 4pm and they close at 5pm, but they told me they are not taking any more customers for the day. Store seemed empty to me. I went to another store in the area and got the haircut.

Got mine and my husband’s haircut yesterday at this place. Adriana did a very great job. I went there with a superlong freezy unmanageable hair. Came out with so much of confidence and happiness. She understood my needs and did not rush it through the end. She chopped all the freezy hair and gave beach curly looks, which I loved a lot. Adriana you rocked it.

I dropped In this morning for a much needed haircut. Thank you Stephanie you gave me a wonderful cut. Ill see you in 5-6 weeks.

Maghen is fantastic! I came in to fix a hard to manage cut, OMG, she did her magic cut and style turned out much better than I expected or hoped for. Love it!

If you are going to buy the Groupon, make sure you ask how much additional cost there will be for color. I showed up to my appointment and they told me it would cost an additional $45+ to color my hair. Which is close to the cost of the groupon that I already purchased. Might as well pay the extra cost and go to a professional who wont charge you more money.

Ask for Jennifer, she is great with color, she can do turquoise, lavender ect, and a nice soft shade of blonde, any color she gets it right. Also she is quick.

Walked in hoping the last girl there to cut my hair wouldnt be or id just not go in ( I had to have it fixed as one side was longer than the other). no one in the store (uncommon there) but one girl sitting in a seat on her phone ( no big deal for me if stores empty) she gets up tells me to hang on then goes out the back for her break and sends up somone I didnt see in the back . yup u guessed it mrs cant cut straight and I thought ill giver her a chance to do better... NOPE back of my head was barely shortened and front is super short... not blended so its like stepped down. how does this lady have a lisc to cut?

Went in because I bought a Groupon for this place and they completley messed up my sons hair!the service includes a wash and they did not wash his hair until I mentioned it and even when I did she rolled her eyes at me.

Pretty good cuts. Its not Aveda, but it gets the job done well enough.

Non-pro service. My haircut was messed up so many times. Yesterday, I showed the photo how do I want them to do haircut, but they made totaly opposite. I happened few times in the few months.
