This was the least stressful purchase of a car Ive ever experienced. A older female shopping on her own is particularly vulnerable. It is a lot more pleasant if youve done your homework and know exactly what you want. Everyone is cooperative and working towards getting you what you want. Nice job, Subaru!

I had a wonderful experience with Hassett Subaru. My family has dealt with Vincent Rizzo for many years at a different Subaru dealership. When I found out he had started working at Hassett I was more than willing to travel a little further out of my way to work with him to buy out my car after my lease was up. James helped me with the financial aspects and he was so friendly and wonderful. I would not hesitate to go back here or refer my friends who may be looking for a car.

Scheduled a test drive on Saturday 10/9 for the afternoon. We met with Anthony DeSantos. He was so friendly and patient with us. After the test drive we walked back into the showroom and really looked at the SUV we were interested in. Anthony answered all of our questions and made it a very stress free experience. We scheduled to pick up the car on Monday. Dan in the finance department was very friendly and didn’t rush us at all as I read through all the documents. Anthony took us out to our new car and went over all the bells and whistles with us. He made himself available even after we left if we had questions. After dealing with many salespeople and many dealerships during this crazy time with shortages of cars and chips, We would absolutely recommend Hassett Subaru. 5 stars!! Thank you Hassett Subaru!!

I have a 2017 Impreza which had recall for a coil.Waited the whole summer (2021) for parts on back order, at the same time the AC was not blowing cold air. Finally got an appointment in September, the recall was fixed. I was informed that they will check for leaks which would be about $190. There were no leaks according to the technician, but the AC still has the same problem, the air is not getting as cold as it used to.For a 2017 vehicle, with less than 28000 miles with this many recall, I wander if AC system for this vehicle is also a problem with other models built the same year.At the end of the day I just wonder if they even check for leaks at all and just add it freon.Im disappointed with the service department.I dont think I will either purchase or lease any vehicle from this dealer.

I was really looking forward to joining the Subaru family after leaving Hyundai problem free for 8yrs, but I have really been let down,Sales - Gets an Excellent rating. Worked out a fair deal and didnt take hours.Service - Regular maintenance is a breeze, but major service may be a different story.Manual shifter gear locked while driving resulted in 2 weeks service with no loaner car.2nd occurrence 2 months later. Car still with service after 41 days due to parts issue. Didnt get a update call for 30 days. They finally provided a loaner car after a month with no transportation.Roadside service - Gets an F+. 1st occurrence was fine. The 2nd was HORRIBLE. took almost 24hrs to get my car towed and have yet to refund my money as per request.Its a good thing the 22 WRX looks horrible and nothing like the concept car, so I wont feel so bad changing brands.

Great experience shopping and purchasing at Hassett Subaru. I dont generally write reviews but I was very nervous about buying my first car and making the right decisions and my salesperson Paul was extremely helpful and informative. I had gone to other dealerships where the salespersons had talked down to me and made me feel uncomfortable. Paul at Hassett however made me feel like I knew what I was doing and gave me enough information to help me make an informative decision. This is my first Subaru and would highly recommend buying one, and going to see Paul at Hassett to do so!

Needed a second vehicle but wasnt looking forward to car shopping in this market. After going to several dealers and hearing their inflated prices, I went to Hassett. My salesman Vinny sold me my previous Subaru and he sold me my latest. They not only gave me a fair price but I got the model I had been looking for. Everyone was great to work with. Recommended my friend to go there.At first she was really happy finally found a peaceful place no hassle as she end up signing and leaving deposit with agreement from the salesperson with Promotion 0% Finance (Tier 1 Credit). A month after the car arrived then went into the financial office they want to charge 9% interest even though my friend has excellent credit above 780-800 credit score with no debt at all. She asked the financial guys why she has 9%. This crooks guys said Oh, that Promotion was ended and we cannot give you that! She end up getting the deposit refunded. No car purchase.I had purchased my STI from here back in 2015 and it was not like this. This dealers and the sales and financial guys...You are not belong to LI.Terrible dealers Not recommended! Id give No star if they allowed. Dont buy from them but if you do...Make sure to be ready to fight again in the financial crooks!

I received a notice that 2017 foresters had a problem with the ac condenser causing problems with the ac in the vehicle. I scheduled a time for replacement of the part. They told me to plan to leave the car there for the entire day as the job is a tedious one. I dropped my car off at 8:30 am, I received a call around 09:30am saying the part had been replaced and ac refrigerant refilled. I queried this and they said they had two mechanics working on it.I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY CHANGED THE PART. I checked the area for signs of work and there were none. The condenser looked original to the car as it had some dents in it. ANOTHER SCAMMING DEALER. Beware of this dealer.

During Covid: Purchased a certified vehicle from this dealership, easy process, no surprise prices changes when we spoke with loan department. Received the vehicle cleaned! I knew before Covid I would return and I am glad I waited as the restrictions are lightening up. And the delivery experience the car wasnt detail right still had to come out of my pocket to get the paint looking right. But I do understand most dealer dont do a good job at detailing. Dave was my salesperson. Informative, knowledgeable and friendly. Always returned calls. Finance was on top of everything. Car was ready on time. I bought a Subaru Legacy Sport...Recommending this place to friends and anyone that needs a car!!!!!First I called for a service appointment, could not get a appointment for about a month. No loaners till January. In the meantime, car needed oil change. Paid for oil change as had to take college road trip with son, told by gentleman at counter manage my miles better . At least you could have reimbursed me. Than my tire blew last week hitting pot hole, couldnt get tire in for a week. Not happy..with service department at all😡

Amazing experience. Thank you Alex! I had been looking for a compact car but with AWD for a while. Decided the Crosstrek was the best fit. Walked into Hassett Subaru and met Alex, took it for a spin, went home and thought about it. Came back and worked with Alex through the whole deal, who also introduced me to their in-house insurance people (Christine). Christine totally hooked me up with a better insurance rate than I had ever paid before with all the same coverage and added car and saved $500 a year. Even picked up some umbrella insurance while I was at it for next to nothing. They also save you a trip to the DMV if you want by getting it registered there. Got a brand new Crosstrek with 1.9% financing, zero down, insurance, registration done, extended warranty, everything and left feeling fantastic. All in time for this blizzard. Will definitely be recommending Alex and co. to friends and family!

Our Subaru Forester Sport is less than 1.5 years old with an extended Gold Plus warranty. We had a subtle lurching issue when the car shifted into higher gear that started over the summer (2020). It got progressively more intense so we thought to bring it into Subaru.They claimed that due to a 3rd party oil change (over 2 months prior) that the transmission needed to be completely replaced and the out of pocket cost for us was $8900. We called Subaru corporate and after much back and forth they agreed to cover $4500. We then waited two weeks for the car to be repaired.Every time we called they told us the same exact story, We are down a mechanic and are extremely busy, we will try to call you back in a few days. They never called, we always did. They also refused to give us a loaner car, at first claiming there were none available but later claiming it was a courtesy they couldnt honor (no explanation).Well we got the car back and guess what? The issue IS STILL HAPPENING!We are filing a complaint with DMV who will come to inspect the car and determine the next course of action.I was so excited to get this car and we heard such great things about it.However this whole situation is an ongoing nightmare for us.Do yourself a favor and look up CVT transmissions in Subarus before even thinking about buying one. I suspect it may change your mind.Plus Hassett Subaru of Wantagh were so apathetic and disinterested in helping us that you might want to consider avoiding them as well.

Was very clean and professional. Although I baught a certified used wrx and it had to go right back in for a few small things. They are taking care of it right away and offered me a loaner at no cost. Will upgrade to 5 stars if they do right by the service. So far so good.... ok so after my service I will never take my car there again. Certified obviously means different things to different dealerships. This car has a ton of issues that it should have never left the lot with especially bc it was certified. Will be filling complaints with management and Subaru of America. They still owe me a second key over a month later. Do not take your vehicle here for service. I am retracting 2 stars.

Obviously they dont want a sale. My husband and I were in the market for a new Subaru. Met with Jean Marie about pricing and availability. First off, she could barely give us any differences between the Outback and the Forester. She said she would get back to us with what was in inventory. We saw some cars at other dealers, but were set on a Subaru.We called Jean Marie about an hour later to tell her we were interested in the Outback Limited, fully loaded. Fine, let me see what we have and Ill get back to you in a bit.Two days later, no call, no email. I called again. Left a message for her this time saying that I really wanted to see what was in stock and that we were ready to buy.No call back. At all. Not even to say, Ill call you when I found something, but no luck yet. Radio silence.I have since taken my business elsewhere, to a dealer that was very eager to provide excellent service and sell me a 2020 Outback Limited with all of the options for which we were looking.I realize inventory is tight and that many cars are being sold because of decreased production during the pandemic, but the lack of customer service is appalling.Thats the last time Ill deal with Hassett.

1st time using their service department for my new Outback. When I call they told me due to being very busy the 1st appointment was 3 and a 1/2 weeks which I made. Prior to coming to my appointment they had emailed me, text me and called me to confirm my appointment.Drop my car off at 7:30 a.m. and call them to see if it was done at 2:00 p.m. they told me that they did not get to the car and was going to keep it overnight.I had not made in rangement for them to keep the car overnight, So I had to pick it up that evening.When I got to the service department they ask me if I could bring the car back the next day, I told them I had no time I had to work. They did not follow up with me to see if there was another time that would be good or reached out to me at all.I felt they did not care about my time and going out of my way to get the car there on time for my appointment.

This is the second car I have leased with Fred Steinbrg from Hassett Ford on Sunrise Highway in Wantagh. On the first occasion in 2015 I had a great experiance. The leasing process was hassle free and easy and I didnt have a single problem with my car (2015 Ford Escape Titanium). In 2018 when my lease was up it was the first time ever I was not rushing to the dealer to trade my car in. I had such a good experience in my current ford I actually just leased the newer (2018 ford escape titanium) model of my car. I followed up with Fred who had emailed to let me know my lease was coming to an end and the car I wanted was ready within 5 days of talking to him. When I picked up my car there was big red bow waiting on the rearview mirror - sometimes its the little things and you cant beat good customer service :) I would highly recommend stopping into Ford Hassett in Wantagh and asking for Fred - In 2021 when my lease is up again I look forward to heading back!

My husband and I were always interested in leasing or purchasing a Subaru so I figured I would go close to home and check them out to see if it was something we could afford. I received quotes from Jean Marie on a forrester lease and an outback lease. I was informed that they had an outback that was ready to go out and was canceled by the potential buyer at the last minute. It was the last day of the month and they were definitely trying to get this car out. I looked at it and loved it but wanted to speak to my husband first. I did not give them any information other than my name and address, did not sign anything, and did not leave with any paperwork or confirm an offer.My husband and I decided to wait. Suddenly I started receiving things from Subaru. I received an email from sirius XM stating that my new trial subscription in my 2020 outback had started.... ummm what outback? I dont own one or have one in my possession. Weird. I called sirius and under my current plan an outback was put under my name. I attempted to call Subaru of Wantagh to see what was going on, left a message for the manager Matt and received no call back. THEN I got mail to my house from Subaru corporate with my added security agreement registration form with cards and all of the vehicle information with MY NAME on it with the VIN # and exact description of the car I looked at that I DO NOT OWN! I called to speak to the manager of Subaru of Wantagh for the not THIRD time (day I got this I left him a message and that wasnt returned either). A woman asked if I had left a message for him already (meaning day prior) after coming back from putting me on hold then proceeded to tell me that he was in a meeting and would call me back. He NEVER called me back! Definitely some shady business going on with this and I was totally avoided. I ended up reaching out to corporate who took care of this issue. I was told my name was listed as the owner of that exact car after I gave them the VIN number. This is extremely frustrating and completely wrong on their part. How can you put my name as an owner of a car I did not agree to or sign for or even have in my possession???? Corporate said the manager would reach out to me to explain this and what do you know...he DID NOT. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone and actually will tell them to completely avoid using them. So disappointed with this experience, lack of help and communication from the dealer.

Today’s Hassett service for my 2005 LL Bean Outback was excellent. As I walked into the customer service center at my appointment time, 7:30, Ross Giordano and the service consultants were stationed, attentive and smiling. Happy Friday!Since I expressed my need to wait for my car, I was especially pleased to see Mechanics waiting to accept their assignments, as I settled into the comfortable, clean waiting area for a cup of hot coffee and fresh bagel.Service was expedited and Ross facilitated a concise and informative summary of the three jobs requested and provided a short prognosis for my next visit: Front End Lower Control Arms. I agreed, settled the bill and was back on the road by 9:15! Fabulous service!I love my car. Hassett Wantagh has been providing service since I bought my Outback in 2005. On the advise of my mechanic I took my Subaru to the service center where I leased my car. They could not find anything and were just horrible to deal with. Corporate had Alex from Hassett Subaru contact me and they kindly offered to look at my car. They found the leak, repaired the problem while being professional and courteous. Not personally satisfied at all by the service department. Not very satisfied that a car went off the lot with a simple blown fuse and the couldnt fix it. If you buy a car from them have a great mechanic. The vehicle has had the infotainment system go black. I had spoken to the manager and he empathized with me. Here is the deal. Live near them? Have patience? Like to spend time with them or drive the loaner car? Fantastic. They would be the best.However if you are having an issue that everyone knows is simple and they dont fix it how could you ever trust them for something else

When I called to schedule routine maintenance and a recall on my Forester, I was told they wouldn’t be able to do the recall until August. I went to Hasset for my service appointment on June 1st. Fred looked at my account and told me they would have the recall handled that day and I didn’t even ask. Now that’s what I call customer service! After a check engine light / abs light came on in my car, we called right away to schedule an appointment. It happened to be a Saturday afternoon so someone who worked here said to call Monday morning and “they’ll get us right in”. After making child care and work arrangements, when we called that Monday we were told the earliest they could get us in was 3 weeks from then. If they were honest and we were told initially that the earliest appointment was in three weeks, it would have saved us a lot of stress. They are dishonest and I wouldn’t trust much of what they say if they give false information so easily.

Terrible service, stay away from this dealership!! We had to have our car serviced by Hassett Subaru due to a recall. When we called to schedule, they said they would have a rental available for us. When we got there they said they didnt have a rental and would not let us use a demo, It was a miserable rainy Thursday, no one was test driving a car. When we finally got our car back it stunk of cigarette smoke, we are non smokers and this was totally unprofessional of them. DO NOT BUY or SERVICE you car here, they are horrible.

Love my Subaru! The sales man, Paul, I met with was very nice and accommodating without all of the run around. I felt very comfortable working with him. Overall good experience 4 stars simply for the financial guy. He was a little sketchy and pushy but I guess that’s kinda what you get.

I use to lease all my vehicle from the same dealership and car manufacture for years. I came into This Dealership to look and see. Wow my wife Dianne and I were shocked at the great no hassle sales force. I never drove a Subaru before this visit really had no knowledge other then what I heard. I understand today why people that buy or Lease a Subaru are Subaru owners for life. The sales force and team there made my choice easy and very comfortable. They not only sell a great product but have a great work force to help you decide what works for you. They put the customer first. Wish I had a work force like this at my company. The GIOS, will be back for more purchases. Also please promote Ms. Nestola, To say she is a AAA+ Sales Associate is putting it mildly Its she that sold us on the new car. She made it so easy to decide and worked with us every step of the way. She refused to go home until we completed the transaction and drove out. My wife and I were both looking to buy a new Subaru and we stopped by the local dealer, Hassett, just to take a look. We were greeted immediately by a friendly, smiling salesperson named Ms. Rae Cangcuesta. We just had a few questions and told Rae that we were just at the researching stage. Rae answered our questions, gave us the brochures and told us that she would be there if we had any further questions. We knew that if we were going to buy this vehicle that it would be with Rae. Fast forward a few weeks and we posed our questions, explained what we needed and made the deal. Even our trade-in was handled professionally and fairly. Within a month, we were driving our new 2019 Subaru. Were hoping that the Hassett service center handles their customers in the same professional manner as Rae did in the sales department. Well know in about 5,000 miles.

My wife recently bought a Subaru Forester from Hassett Subaru of Wantagh. We got a pretty good deal for the SUV but the service was sub par. Our sales guy told us the vehicle was in but we had to see their finance guy. I told him we would be going to our bank and would bring a check, can you have the car ready. Guy said we should use their financing and we couldnt get the SUV because they were busy and he didnt want the over work them. The car came in that mourning and the dealer ship closed at 8pm. Why cant I just pick it up today? I called the Sales Manager a few times and left messages to call me back. I never got a call back. My wife and I got the check from bank and went to dealership and were told we couldnt get car because it wasnt prepped. Finance guy said it could have easily been done, prepped and we could have driven it home. So I had to wait another day, driving my wife to work and her taking off a few hours to finish the deal that could have easily been handled the day before. I dont know what games they were playing. They probably wanted us to use there finance department, so when I told him I was using my bank he didnt like that.

I purchased a Subaru Outback at Hassett last week. Paul was my sales person. He was very knowledgeable about the car. He followed through with all the paperwork. He was very patient in answering all questions and made the car buying experience easy and stressless. Women BEWARE - TAKING ADVANTAGE OF SERVICEI went to bring my car into the dealership for the recall on my airbags, I get a call within a few hours of dropping it off telling me my brakes were very low and need replacing as soon as possible. Well my husband is capable of my brakes so I bought new brake pads over the weekend and yesterday he took the old brake pads off with 75% of the brake pad still remaining. Heaven forbid I didnt have someone I knew to replace my pads I would of paid an arm and a leg for service at the dealership and not had a clue if they were that bad or not. I AM MODIFIED how they lied to me and made it sound like an emergency. Service technician scamming women/people all the time for probably a commission/sales. Make sure you have a trusty service technician who is honest.

I came in to purchase a car for my wife based on the advertisement we saw online. What started as a miscommunication ultimately became an overall worthwhile experience. Their Sales Manager Lou Evans really went overboard to placate me, taking a huge amount of time to ensure that we explored every possible option in order to get the best deal possible. In the end we were able to purchase the car my wife was interested in at a price that I was comfortable with. We left as happy customers. This review will cover two parts, the sale and the post sale requiring service. For the sale part, went really well, the fact that the dealer is very upfront about NO additional FEES or forced financing, was awesome. Where the wheels fall off the bus is on the post sale. I bought a CPO car that had two OPEN recalls, which per the factory Certifying process shouldve been resolved prior to pick up. No matter, a quick call to service should take care of it, or so I thought. Service had NO RECORD of me or my car in their system, I called two days after picking it up!!! Simply acknowledge that and walk over to sales or finance, nope they were rude not helpful and wanted to force the payment of a deductible from my extended warranty!!! So after a few more calls and a lengthy email, got a response. Overall have very little faith in any of this getting resolved quickly. Will need to make friends with my local dealer service dept as I will not be returning to Hassett for service. SO word of warning you will get a fair deal when purchasing, but for service, Id look elsewhere
