The amount of professionalism is sadly rare at other car dealerships. But at Boston Volkswagen I received the experience every customer should have. All my questions where answered respectfully and with care. Mark and Craig moved mountains and found me the exact car model and color I was looking for. Well, first time they missed a diagnosis and we have taken both our VW’s here for service work for quite a long time. Yes, the tires needed replacing but the sound up front that we described as possible exhaust leak is still present and I’m shocked the mechanic missed it. We specifically stated it occurs on acceleration. The car needs to be test driven with acceleration over 30mph with windows down and it is so obvious and present. In all the years, we have never had a poor service experience at this dealer but they definitely missed on this one. We just paid over $1000 for tires which is acceptable and we are happy with that aspect but I don’t like having to bring it in again only to pay a diagnostic fee since this was missed. Yes, the front tires made road noise and needed to be replaced, we knew that, but the primary sound upon acceleration under the front seat and engine is still there.
Shortly after purchasing a vehicle from Boston VW, I decided to cancel the warranty I originally added because I was told adding a warranty would lower my interest rate which I found out was a lie. After processing the cancellation with the finance manager, he told me it could take up to 6 months to see it credited on my account. This was October 2019... fast forward nearly two years, I have called countless of times and some how the finance manager is never available every single time I call. I have left voice mails for him every single time I’ve called, with no call back ever. Also when learning that the finance manager was on vacation from another worker, the tone in his voice sounded like he could care less about my situation and frustration. I informed him that it has been a ridiculous amount of time, that I’ve been waiting and if I do not see any results soon that I’d be taking them to small claims court. He didn’t even ask for my name and number, didn’t seem to care about resolving or helping me, and handled it very poorly. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a car dealership. The salesmen here use deceptive tactics to get every penny they can out of you. To any potential car buyers, heed this warning.

Unfortunately, I had one of the worst experiences in this dealership. From the moment I walked in the salesman Andres made me feel very uncomfortable. At one point during our initial conversation he even laughed at me and raised his voice when I talked about my budget. He spoke down to me the entire time, was very pushy and authoritarian. I will not be going back or buying a car from this dealership. I told the manager I wasnt treated well, he apologized but I truly hope this dealership takes this matter seriously. I felt harassed by this employee.I actually loved the car, but the customer service totally ruined it for me.
Service center review: Fairly disappointed with my experience. Brought the car in to run diagnostics for my electronic system. Was cited that it could be anywhere between 100-400 for the repairs assuming something was wrong. Got the car back two days later, they found nothing wrong with the car and still charged $360. IMO very expensive all things considered, will not be bringing back my car here.EDIT after owner reply: To clarify, the dissatisfaction does not stem from the quality of the service, but the cost. I was given an estimate with a wide range from 100 to 400$ assuming that repairs would be made, but given nothing was fixed, charging at the upper end of the range ($360) for just diagnostic work is too high for me.
Please, do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to Boston VW. Try in Medford or other locations, it will save you a lot of time and money. My experience was awful. They sold me a different car version that they initially told me, took them more than a month to deliver it and included a tires insurance that I really do not need. And now that I have cancelled the tire insurance they dont want to refund the initial payment (~$2k). I have started a formal complaint process with the AGO, but it is important everybody is aware of this before heading this place.

Did not have a good experience here. First they double booked my appointment by accident so I had to sit on a couch watching TV for a half hour. After that, they did not negotiate or provide me much help. They gave me a very high monthly payment, I asked to negotiate and they said no. I then went to the Medford VW and not only did they negotiate, but they automatically came in lower than Watertown. Medford was also just nicer and more helpful. I left Watertown feeling like I was getting tossed around by slimy sales tactics, go to Medford or another location .
Second review I am writing since the dealerships response was hurtful. On 06/16/21 (Wednesday- not a Sunday), I walked in to the Watertown Volkswagen and was attended by a man called Andres and his manager, Michael. I just called to double check and I was told Andres doesnt work there anymore. Thank goodness. My experience was traumatic and their behavior extremely unprofessional (including their responde to my review).

At first this dealership was fantastic. Once I purchased the car everything went down hill. Communication was terrible. I had an issue with the car after and had to call vw corporate office to get it resolved. I was told the general manager was going to reach out in regards to my situation. After weeks I never heard anything. I decided to send an email to him and address my concerns. I still have not heard anything.
Was happy to continue my long-running series of VW leases with a new Golf, and Tampsi helped make it one of my best experiences yet. She was professional, authentic, and a pleasure to deal with. Communication was easy, questions quickly answered, and she and the rest of the team were able to help me meet my planned budget for monthly payments. Ill be back again in 3 years, even if its not to get another Golf :-)

After 6 years with another local dealership with two Jeep Cherokee Latitude leases I was hesitant to entertain a new dealership, but from the minute I walked in the door at Boston Volkswagon they have blown me away with the infinite number of positives they bring to the table. Ricardo handled the majority of my Jeep Tiguan SE purchase and he is phenomenal. His strong experience in the auto space was invaluable throughout.Donovan was another sales rep who was involved early on and is a rising star at VW. Bill in Finance also came in with his almost 3 decades of experience, adding his insight with weighing options, and was rock solid. Josh in sales was a resource as well popping in and he is a great guy too. Talk about a team clicking on all cylinders and driving an A+ customer experience across the board! Avoid this dealership if possible. My experience was awful. Here’s why…I bought a 2020 vehicle from Boston Volkswagen in April of 2021. From the beginning, the communication from Boston Volkswagen was terrible. However I wanted a specific model car that was only at their dealership at the time so I had to put up with it. Throughout the car buying processes I was told conflicting numbers from both my salesmen, Hamil and the manager Josh. I want to point out that Hamil, was very polite and I had no issues with him.Josh, the sales manager was one of the most unprofessional people I’ve met. After the deal was made, there was miscommunication over money that was suppose to be given to me to get me out of my lease mileage fees. I was originally told I would get them covered, then after the deal was made I was told they wouldn’t cover them. Josh claimed that he would have never of said that he would cover the mileage fees, when he did. Regardless of the mileage fee situation, Josh is just rude and often made condescending remarks.It’s been 3 months since I purchased the vehicle and I keep getting passed around. Josh tells me the check issue for the mileage fees is with the finance manager Bill, and Bill tells me the check issue is with Josh. I got ping ponged by both of them for a month.After Josh refused to issue the check for mileage fees, I asked for the managers phone number. Josh replied with “I am the manager”. No josh, you are not the manager. You are a “sales” manager. Clearly when I ask you for a manager I’m asking for the person who is in charge of you. But Josh likes to make condescending comments like that. After josh refused to give me his managers phone number, he told me that he would have the manager call me. The manager never called me.I was told by Josh that he could do 0% for 72 months. I get to the paperwork stage with Bill the finance manager and they told me that because I had a credit score of 740 (in that range) that I didn’t qualify for the 0%. I told them I could get a co-signer with an 820 credit score and they ended up giving me 0%, with out the co-signer. They clearly tried to squeeze 1% APR on me when they knew they could do 0%. The second I said Co-signer they changed their mind and went back to 0%. Very shady sales practices.When I bought my car I paid for the Simonize ceramic coating/warranty. I paid $500 for it and when I went to pick up the car they never even applied the ceramic coating. I had to ask them and they told me they never got to it.Lastly, I’m disappointed in the General Manager, John Welch. After I made several attempts to contact him I have never once received any communication from him. I emailed him, I called him, and left a voicemail on his work phone number. The issue with this dealer has made it to Volkswagen of America and they are going to assist me with these issues. It’s unacceptable for a GM to not reach out to a customer when there is an issue that needs to be resolved. I’m still baffled that the GM has never once got back to any of my attempts to contact him.I assume Josh or maybe the GM will respond to this negative review and get defensive like they do with the other negative reviews, but they really should take this as feedback and improve their business going forward. I work in sales and sell hundreds of products a week to dozens of people. I understand what a good and bad customer journey consists of, and Boston Volkswagen is just a bad customer journey. They are in it for the sale and that’s it. They play along like they care but they really don’t. Even the front desk people are unprofessional. They play on their phone while you talk to them, eat their lunch at the front desk…it’s just a very unprofessional place.**IN SUMMARY**Go down the road to colonial Volkswagen in Medford. It’s a brand new facility, lots of inventory, plenty of parking. Boston VW is old, run down, no where to park, and a lackluster sales team…Hamil is nice. Unless you need a specific car on Boston VWs lot, do your self a favor and go up the road to Colonial.

This is LONG overdue, but considering I had such a negative experience at another dealership recently, Im on a review spree. My family has been with VW for over 25 years. I purchased my first Jetta over 10 years ago and when I lived closer, I would frequent Boston VW for service. This review is specifically for Armando Saenz in the Service Department. Thank you for all the years of what I felt was genuine, honest service and kindness. Thanks for actually taking the time to build a relationship with me, always remembering me and my name, and never making me feel rushed or unvalued. Youre the one person whos never made me feel like a number. Every time I see you, I feel like Im seeing an old friend. Considering you havent been promoted as head of the entire department, Im assuming that VW Boston doesnt even realize what a gem they have - and if they do, I hope you are being greatly compensated for that.

I was looking for a new car since my previous car was getting tired. I looked around at many other dealerships and looked at their lease options non of them made any sense since all the fees that were listed were not included in the lease offer. Then I saw a lease offer for a GTI and all the numbers were in the right place and Tampsi helped make it one of the best deals and tried her best to get me a deal that we agreed on. Will and Josh also were people who helped with the headache free process. I am very excited about this car and after almost 7 months I can say that this car is worth every penny. I just picked my 2012 Tiguan up from a weekend of being serviced. I scheduled service online (which was really easy) and dropped off my Tiguan first thing in the morning on Friday. Ace was my primary service advisor and he got my Tiguan checked in and immediately got someone started diagnosing the problem. About an hour later I was told that I would need a new water pump and valve cover gasket which would take about twelve hours to repair. Its definitely an extensive job. Ace was very upfront about the pricing and gave me a fantastic price on service. When I told him I would need to figure out a car for the weekend due to appointments that could not be missed, he went to work to get me a loaner. 30 minutes later I was out the door with a Jetta SE and a promise to be called on Monday.Monday comes around and early afternoon Ace calls me to say the car is done! They replaced everything, road tested it to make sure everything was right, even had it washed inside and out for me so all I had to do was drop off my loaner, pay, and be on my way. I highly recommend Boston VW. I bought my Tiguan from them (shout out to Sales Consultant Mark and Sales Manager Josh for the great deal on my Tiguan) and will continue to service my car with them. They are up front, honest, and stick to their word. None of the normal dealership run-around.

I love VW, but havent been impressed with VW dealerships ever. This is the closest VW dealership to me, not where I bought my GLI. Brought here to be serviced when a mechanic said I needed a dealership and was happily surprised with the experience.I was originally told it would be several days before they would get to my car, the garage was full and with the pandemic that wasnt surprising. Within hours I had a full video walk thru of the necessary repair, steps after that and accurate estimate. The agent who helped me was very pleasant and even mounted my front plate, bumper was replaced a few months ago, which the place that replaced the bumper didnt do.I might have been swayed to use this dealership for any future needs!
Sales staff was extremely nice and helpful on my interest on a 2015 Golf TDI they had in inventory. Bill Jesse made it happen, great guy. My wife purchased the vehicle, only to find two months later that they weren’t able to register the vehicle for us because of Connecticut’s emission laws. Canceling the contract was easy, but trying to get out first months vehicle loan payment back that we made to Volkswagen credit has been a nightmare. Boston Volkswagen owes my wife a few hundred dollars and has been dodging our emails and calls for about 2-3 months now. Unfortunately this dealership isn’t right around the corner from us to swing by and speak with the general manager, John. Be careful with putting down payments on vehicles here, if for some reason the purchase doesn’t work out, I wouldn’t expect to get your money back, or at least not in a timely manner.
I was bringing my Jetta to VW in Watertown for service and always had a good experience. Mike in the service department is extremely helpful, kind and fair (which I feel can be difficult to find these days). With the assistance of Jadon, the process of trading in my Jetta for a Tiguan was seamless. He was very helpful with answering any questions I had and actually made the process of purchasing a car enjoyable. I highly recommend both Mike in service and Jadon in sales for any and all your needs!
5 stars to the body shop. They can do it all. Danny is the best. I had an insurance claim that Danny took care of from start to finish and car came out amazing. I am new to the area, so when I had to turn in my lease, I wasn’t familiar with Boston VW. As soon as I walked in and met with Tampsi, I knew I was in great hands ! She was absolutely amazing. I was noticeably stressed and she connected with me and made me feel so comfortable. She answered every one of my million questions and she was very knowledgeable about their products. Furthermore, she was thorough with paperwork and quick to get me into my new car. Definitely a breath of fresh air in a usually stressful time. In the future, I will be coming back to this dealership and to Tampsi! Great customer service.

Bought my first car here! Tampsi was easy going and a pleasure to work with. I never felt pressured into making a decision or uncertain about what I was buying. The transparency of the entire purchasing process was refreshing. I walked in pre-approved for an auto loan through my bank and Bill from financing was able to beat their rate with no strings attached. I was advertised add-ons and extended warranties etc, but if I made it clear I wasnt interested in a product they werent pushy which is something I always appreciate in any sales experience. Overall, I had a great time working with and getting to know these guys, and ended up with an awesome car!
Disappointed with my experience at their service department. Dropped my car off at 10am because my fuel door kept getting stuck. The service advisor I spoke with that morning confirmed that it likely needs a new actuator and that they would be replacing it. 4pm rolls around and after trying to call them twice and leaving voicemails they call to tell me that they dont have any actuators in stock and cannot do the repair.What bugs me is that I wasted an entire day waiting around but nobody though it was a good idea to check if this part was in stock when they suspected I needed one. I had an appointment (booked two weeks out) for 10am and they still didnt even touch my car until hours later. They probably could have even checked when I made the appointment and maybe even ordered the $30 part. Seems simple enough.I will not be returning to this dealership because its not worth getting bad service for the top dollar that dealerships charge for service. I felt like I was ignored and they failed to do the bare minimum required. Any local mechanic would have done better.
I recently had a great experience purchasing a new Tiguan R-Line (highly recommend btw). Tampsi helped me quickly navigate price and terms as well as my existing lease (which was critical since a huge snow storm was on its way and I needed to test drive the car, handle the paperwork and get it done before the roads got really bad). Her team was great, but she stood out! I highly recommend her and Boston VW if youre in the market for a car!

We went in on Saturday as our lease ends soon and we have a baby on the way and wanted to be sure we knew what car we wanted prior and to trade in our lease prior to having out new baby. They were able to trade in our old lease with no problem. They made the process so easy for us. The entire team was wonderful. We worked with Jadon Lynn start to finish. Let me just start by saying he did not make us feel like we were a pain, he made us feel like he would do anything to help us through the process. We are picking up our car tomorrow. He made the process seamless, always answered my questions as we went along, he was very easy to reach via his cell phone and text. We feel comfortable going with VW and knowing that we have someone to reach out too in the future. We did have a Q5 previously to this, and my husband and I both feel the customer services was far better at VW Watertown than Audi. They help you find a car in your budget, and work with your budget to get you something that is perfect. I was scared to turn in my Q5 however Jadon gave us such confidence that we would always have someone to go too! A car is a big purchase and its nice to have been able to work with Jadon throughout the process!
Neither sales nor managers ever respond to emails or call you back unless its about a purchase. Finance is barely responsive to email. It was noted I would have 2-year roadside assistance with my car but after purchasing found out my car was incompatible with VW Car-Net. Boston VW did not respond to any of my 4 emails over 4 weeks about it. This dealership also tried to sell my friend a car that was undergoing an insurance claim without telling him first. Go to the VW in Medford instead, they do business much better.--Follow up: initially I asked sales how to access the roadside assistance either in person or over the phone, and he said it accessible via the VW app. After a long back-and-forth with VW Car-Net they indicated my model was incompatible with their service. So that led to the emails that went cold for 4 weeks.Only after leaving this did sales call me to harass me about this review and tell me I should have KNOWN to call sales instead of email, since none of their emails accept incoming messages (???). However it was those very email addresses (@bostonvw.com) that I received correspondence from regarding test drives and financing. In 2021 this is just odd. How am I supposed to know the emails I received several messages from dont go anywhere? According to BostonVW I am to blame!

My wife and I bought an Atlas this week from Boston Volkswagen and I feel compelled to write this review; we experienced nothing short of world class service from start to finish. Mark Smith made the whole process flow seamlessly with professionalism and attentiveness. We also found Bill Jesse to be wonderful to work with; he was easy to talk to, extremely knowledgeable and relatable. Last, we were impressed when the GM John Welch took the time to go over the car with us and to make sure that we were happy with our experience. I would recommend both the Atlas and Boston VW to anyone.
I just bought my first Volkswagon from Boston VW. I traded in my 2008 Honda Civic and bought my first Jetta--a 2019 SE. When I first got the dealership, I wasnt sure that I was all in to buy, as I wanted to take a look at Honda again before I decided, but Donovan King, the salesman that I worked with, was really patient, helpful, and answered all of my questions. Donovan was a great salesman in that he was patient and understated, and did not pressure me. It was his understated nature that made me trust him and I actually fell in love with the car--which the dealership wanted to move given that it was a 2019, which had been sitting in the showroom due to Covid 19 since February (it had been delivered to the dealership in February, right before Covid hit and everything shut down). I got a great deal on the car, and I THINK I got an okay deal on my trade, although I always think maybe I could have gotten a bit more (I did negotiate and got $500 more than I was originally offered). Nonetheless, as a woman who went into the dealership by herself, I do feel that I was treated with respect, not fast-talked, and not spoken down to, by either Donovan or his manager during either the trade-in or car buying processes.On the day of delivery, Donovan walked me through the car and its features to get me familiar, and took his time doing so--this car has many more features than my last one, so I was/am getting used to everything. Donovan was patient once again, and he also sent me the receipt for my canceled plates so that I could send that to my insurance company. The receipt was sent to me within an hour of my leaving the dealership--a nice, fast turn-around time (my insurance agent suggested I do it myself, as it could take dealerships a while, but these folks did it so fast, as Donovan assured me that they would!).Today, the day after taking delivery, on my drive to the grocery store, it started raining, and I noticed that the windshield wipers werent working smoothly. I called Donovan. He answered the phone, and in a friendly manner said, Hi Robin, what can I do for you? I told him the issue and asked if I could come by tomorrow. Donovan answered, Of course! That should be an easy fix. Ill meet you in the service bay tomorrow at 9. Ill be waiting.Thank you to Donovan for making the car buying experience an easy one. I was also surprised to learn that Donovan is only in his first month at the dealership! I hope that Donovan keeps that understated and kind nature throughout his tenure there--even as he grows in experience! I was surprised by the positive experience that I had while purchasing my 2019 Jetta 1 month ago. The salesman Kevin was very personable and not at all pushy. The sales manager Josh was also very personable and not at all pushy. The finance manager Bill explained every single paper I had to sign and he answered every question I asked himwith a smile! Actually had a surprisingly good experience with the service here. My car was brought in due to a dead battery. They were able to replace the battery, complete a state inspection, and inspect recalls all within a day. They also brought me to work and picked me up from work once my car was ready for pick-up, which was a plus. I ended up spending less than I anticipate I wouldve spent at a random mechanic.

Unprofessional and liars. Agreed on car and deal (all features and numbers explicitly written). Got to dealership with 2 kids not only they didnt have the car (pushing something else) but then said they couldnt honor the deal made with Jadon. The called manager - gangster wannabe - no manners, no professionalism. Everything was just so wrong. I never heard of anything like that. Almost felt like punked.Maybe because I am woman or have an accent. That type of people anyways. Who knows?!My problem is solved - I got the car someplace else but their problem will remain b/c they dont know how to work.Maybe because I am woman or have an accent! Incredibly unprofessional. Heed all the 1 star reviews--customers like myself have taken the time to write them for a reason. Once you sign the paperwork at this dealership EVERYTHING changes. Dont trust anything they promise unless it is in writing and think twice about dealing with their Finance department. I was sold an extended warranty that decided to cancel a few weeks later for a full refund because I found a much better deal elsewhere. I was told Id get a full refund in 6-8 weeks. Now after 3 months I find myself still waiting for the $2300+ to be credited to my account!!!! This is unacceptable! The Finance manager wont even respond to my calls/emails. Avoid these people at all costs.***CASE IN HAND***SEE BELOW***Boston VW will respond to a negative review in a public forum, yet not respond to phone messages or private emails. This is not good customer service; this is simply attempting to salvage a negative review.

We normally do not write negative reviews, however, our experience with Boston Volkswagen and VW of America has been extremely disappointing. We bought a brand-new Volkswagen Jetta in January 2018. We bought the vehicle new as we thought it would be protected under warranty. When we asked our sales person, Miguel, specifically about the warranty, he told us that it would be valid in both in the US and Canada.We have since moved to Canada, and unfortunately within less than 2.5 years of the purchase, we noticed an oil leak in our car. We understand these things do happen and that is why we bought it new and under warranty. We brought our car into a local VW dealership, and they diagnosed our Jetta with a defective PCV valve and it needed to be replaced. We were told by the manager at the Calgary service center that Volkswagen must have misrepresented the warranty as it was not valid in Canada and had to shoulder the costs ourselves.The dealership in Canada recommended submitting the bill to VW of America, suggesting there would be a good chance they would honor the repair. Unfortunately, the reply we received from VW of America would be to drive the care to the US for repair. This is currently impossible given the border closure due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.We feel like we are stuck with a car for which Volkswagen will not honor their warranty. We are extremely disappointed by the customer misrepresentation from Boston Volkswagen, and the total lack of customer care provided by both VW of America and Canada.Our families have been a brand loyal with VW for multiple generations. We had intended to continue this pattern of loyalty throughout our lives. Unfortunately, VW’s complete lack of understanding around this issue and refusal to acknowledge that VW Boston made a mistake in indicating North American warranty coverage has forced us to reconsider our support.Although VW may have had a past brand that was known for quality and customer satisfaction, it appears as though this is no longer the case. Thus, we truly cannot recommend buying a VW anymore, and I would take your hard-earned money elsewhere for a better experience.
I want to thank Dan and his team at the Boston VW bodyshop for the top notch repairers they did on my 2016 Dodge Charger. They worked with my insurance company to fully repair all the hidden damage and the car is better than new now. A wonderful surprise was the car was cleaned inside and out when I picked it up
