EDITED: The assistant manager reached out shortly after I posted and was able to accommodate an appointment for me at 10:30am that day instead. I appreciated that Jissi and the team were so helpful given the frustration i felt that morning. I had a great experience during my visit, was kindly given a discounted rate, and walked out with some great aftercare products. Will definitely be visiting again.I’ve tried to make two appointments, both before holiday weekends, and this location tried to cancel both times. The first time, Renee was gracious enough to see both my sister and I two hours after our original appointments even though there were no alternatives presented to us on the original day at first.The second time I got a TEXT at 7:53am this morning for the 8am appointment I was already on my way to. It’s 8am. The Friday before a holiday. They offered me 50% to come back. I tried to at least go in to buy some stuff because I would have to take care of it at home now - no one was even there, lights were off, door was closed. Would not recommend booking here until there is more consistent staffing.

My first time getting a wax and I had Jenn who was very nice and made my nervousness go away. She was very quick and did a great job! It wasn’t painful how I thought it would be. I definitely recommend Jenn especially if it’s your first time.

I usually see Jessie for my Brazilian waxes and she’s great. I’m always happy with my waxes. The reason for the 2 stars is because I decided to be taken off the texting list and since they do not call to confirm my appointments they end up cancelling me. I work in a hospital and don’t have my phone on me 24/7 to respond to their messages. They will often send me numerous harassing text messages and therefore I asked to not be texted with reminders. Today, I just happened to be running about 5 minutes late and called to let them know, I waited on hold for over 2 minutes to be told I don’t have a reservation. It is extremely frustrating to me because I have an email confirmation from yesterday 10/15 stating I am scheduled for a Brazilian wax today. I am not okay with my reservations being cancelled without my knowledge. I always show up for them and don’t need to be cancelled especially without my knowledge. This is extremely unacceptable, and I’m not sure if I will be returning here.

Very clean and professional, Hannah is a new wax specialist to this location and she did an amazing job for my brazilian. Will definitely be rebooking with her, nice clean wax and barely felt a thing!

I had really wanted to like the center after all of the positive reviews as I have been looking for a solid professional place to bring my teen daughter for her first wax appointment. And the center was in fact very clean and the master professional. However our interaction with the administrator had left me not wanting to set my foot in the center again. I had gotten a call in the morning that our scheduled wax specialist was sick and we had to reschedule. There was an opening earlier in the day an I had rearranged my work schedule to accommodate. We had arrived at the location on time. However there was no available parking and heavy construction around the center. It was hard to orient for the first time where to park. By the time we had gotten to the parking lot and then ran back to center - we were 8 minutes late. I know it was exactly 8 minutes because as we were walking through the door the administrator was calling my cell. We had rushed to apologize profusely and explain the difficulty with parking. However without even listening to our apologies we were informed that our appointment was canceled because of the law we can’t be served if we are 9 minutes late. My daughter was completely taken aback by the tone and was ready to turn around and leave. She later told me that she felt like she was being told off by the administrator and felt completely intimidated. To question of where was the 9 minute law coming from - as I had never heard of It in any of the previous salons I have visited - I was told to go read the centers policies. I had as a matter of fact went back to all of the emails from the center afterwards. Nowhere does it mention this particular regulation moreover all of them have a friendly message of “if you are late - no worries we will sort it out with you”.In the further “sorting out” conversation the administrator had been even more aggressive as I was trying to explain the rescheduling to earlier time in the day and how it affected us getting to the center in advance. I was told I should be happy that I didn’t get a call for the sick wax specialist half an hour before an appointment and got it early in the morning. It was also implied that since my services were free ( I had no idea that first service is free and it would not have made a difference for me scheduling the appointment) I should not have anything to complain about. Even though we only received a 3rd of a scheduled service.It was the most unpleasant service visit I had in many years. There is always possibility that your customer maybe late. The possibility is even higher if your center is in the plaza surrounded by construction. It is not helpful to tell your customer that you have to deal with this construction every day getting into work and it’s not your problem that it affects their timeliness to the appointment. And generally it’s not a good customer retention strategy to bully them and vent your bad mood and aggravation on them.

I called ahead that I would be 5 minutes late and arrived to not be seen. I’m a health care worker and we are empathetic towards all the many reasons patients may arrive late to their appointments. I would hope too, especially in a time like this, that there would be understanding as to why I may show up 5 minutes late to an appointment. Since I was a new customer and not familiar with the location, I arrived not more than 30 seconds past the location’s grace period and was not accommodated to be seen. I found this to be very harsh and inhospitable, and ultimately felt uncomfortable enough where I just had to leave. I felt very disrespected and unwelcome after I did everything possible to give the front desk a heads up. I was very unhappy with the way this was handled and would not recommend giving your business here.

I went in for an eyebrow wax for my first time at this location. Everyone was nice and they took me on time, but my eyebrows are totally uneven. One eyebrow is so thin and it is missing an entire chunk out of the end of my eyebrow. There is barely anything there anymore. The other one looks normal so this must have been a mistake they didn’t care to mention to me. They did not show me my eyebrows before I left and since I’d been to EWC before in Newton, I assumed they’d be okay. This must have been why they didn’t show me. I can’t find this salon on the app to send a complaint. I would not recommend anyone to go here, my eyebrows look worse than before I went in.

Im so happy this location is finally open! The location is super convenient - especially now that Im working from home. I used to go to the EWC downtown by MGH, but my wax specialist of 1.5 years moved and I was so nervous that I was never going to find anyone who measured up... but my first experience with Jen was amazing. I hadnt been waxed in months due to COVID, so I knew that it wasnt going to be fun - but she made it as painless and comfortable as possible. Eduardo (I think?) at the front desk is also so friendly and personable - I love his energy. Cant wait for my next appointment in a few weeks! :)
