I am almost left speechless by how absolutely stellar my vision appointment, my overall experience, and my positive interactions with this Visionworks location’s associates.Information about my vision as well as the different types of vision exam techniques was shared with me today… And to my enlightenment (but also dismay with other vision centers experiences) I was provided with information that no other doctor and or vision center that has ever communicated with me in the past. Dr. Hicks was not only super friendly and energetic… He was by far the best vision exam doctor I have ever encountered in my lifetime. This is the only location I plan to seek vision care needs through… As I am not only super satisfied but realize that any other vision center would be a complete waste of time and money. Came to tighten my glasses and the lady broke them. I didnt ask her to bend them or anything, just a simple tighten, then she grabs them and bends them until they snap. After she broke them she walked to her coworker and started whispering, then proceeded to walk around the store. She came back to the desk and told me they were broken and refused to take accountability after i just saw her snap them in front of me with her hands. I WONT PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT YOU BROKE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME
10/10 will recommend to everyone! From the minute my wife and I stepped in we had an amazing expierence! The associates were all super nice and very helpful. Dr. Hicks was great! Very personable and put me totally at ease for what would be my first eye appointment. Explained everything and it all made sense! Very funny and knowledgeable man! We will be back for sure!

After coming here for years, a family of 5 I will not be coming back in the future. Just this year I have spent over $1,200 at this store between 2 of my children and my husband and its only March. Last year was over $800. They notified me that my sons glasses were in last week and I drove there to have them fitted and pick them up. When I arrived there only 1 of the 2 pairs were ready. I drove 40 minutes one way under the impression both were ready or I would not have driven to pick them up. The woman at the store apologized and offered to ship the 2nd pair even though I explained several times that would do absolutely nothing because I would still have to drive all the way back again to have them fitted. They offered nothing else. After I left I called the corporate office and filed a complaint. I asked for $10 off my next purchase to make up for the extra trip that now has to be made at no fault of mine. Corporate let me know that a manager would be in touch with me. Today the manager, Connie called me to let me know that the other pair was in stock and she again offered to ship them. I again explained to her that shipping them would not be beneficial to fix the situation since I would still have to drive in there to have them fitted. I let her know that since nothing else was being offered to compensate for the expense of the additional unnecessary trip I will not be returning in the future with any family members. She said okay and I hung up. The lack of customer service in this situation is absolutely ridiculous. I do not believe $10 off my next purchase was too much to ask. Obviously, our business isnt valued here.

There were a lot of choices to pick from and the whole staff gave me wonderful customer service.The process was very quick. Dr. Hicks is awesome!! Best doctor I’ve ever had! Very bubbly, enthusiastic, and professional. It’s very obvious that he loves his job and making customers happy. He made it a very enjoyable experience for me. I will definitely go back!
Many other opticians offer free replacement lenses if your prescription changes within a year. This store only offers it for up to 6 months. If there is a chance your prescription will change due to eye problems, you may want to take this into consideration as it can be very expensive to to get new lenses out of pocket. We will take our business elsewhere.
The service was excellent the doctor makes sure you have the contacts for your eyes. The staff was very polite its worth the drive to go to vision works.
I have been a long time, loyal customer with Visionworks, but its because of Dr. Hicks I keep coming back! Each and every visit with Dr. Hicks is a completely new and memorable experience! I would give Dr. Hicks a Million stars if possible, and the three stars for the recent experience. However, as of late, I have been struggling to communicate with the staff at this store! I would like to speak with Dr. Hicks - but I am struggling to get messages to him via staff, and have run out of other means to get a message to him - to discuss the current situation, and just move forward. Please give me a call!
I have been a customer here for years. However, this last visit was especially nice. The atmosphere in the store is friendly and calm. Dr Hicks is pleasant and takes the time to answer your questions thoroughly.
I just visited the Visionworks on Moreland Blvd in Waukesha. Both my daughters had an eye exam today. I was not allowed in the room due to covid, but I could stand in the doorway. During one point of the exam for my 7-year-old, the doctor stated he needed to close the door because the exam required absolute darkness and I could not be in there with her, again, due to covid. I refused, stating that I would not allow that. The doctor got upset and said he could not fully assess her then, however, he was still friendly and advised glasses were recommended.When my 9-year-old daughter had her turn, it again came to the exam where darkness was required and I again stated that I was not comfortable having my daughter alone with another adult. At this point, the doctor got upset, and stopped the exam, stating hed give his best guess at her results. He swiftly walked out of the room, at which point he basically threw the paperwork at the receptionist, and stormed off into the back room.I am completely embarrassed that I was even put in this situation. I asked the lady at reception who owned the location and expressed my concerns about a minor being alone with the doctor, again, nothing personal, just common sense. She went to say that the doctor never needs the door closed, he always leaves it open a crack. well, not in this situation, I guess? He was insistent and then got upset that I would not allow that.I will not go back here and I highly recommend not taking any minors to Visionworks in Waukesha.
I had a great experience here yesterday when purchasing some new glasses. Kelly G. provided superior customer service. I have been coming to this place for over three years now. No one ever offered to tighten or clean my glasses. Kelly even went so far as to remove the lenses and get the dust in the crevices. Excellent staffer. I can see her in a management position soon. Keep it up, Kelly G.!
Excellent staff, selection and prices during their sale. They were busy when we first arrived but Charles came up and introduced himself and offered to help as soon as he was free. It was a great experience and we are just waiting on the glasses to come in... Matter of fact the deal we got made me call in and do two more pair to have as extra, and one tinted for sunglasses. :) We will definitely be back when we need glasses again. I love this location! Not all Visionworks are created equal! I believe my Optometrist was Dr. Hicks? He was fantastic. So happy and energetic and very obviously passionate about his career. I will never use another Optometrist as long as he is around! See you next year :)
Pretty great place. Dr. Hicks is a high energy gentleman and made a routine eye exam as close to fun as it could possibly be. Good selection of frames and all of the staff is extremely friendly
The Optometrist had the worlds BEST personality and his sense of humor is priceless. He is quick straight forward and his staff is just as friendly. I never wait long for my glasses they complete your prescription lens faster than a week. My first visit to Visionworks was on December 27, 2018 and they DEFINITELY got a new customer for a LONG time!! All the staff was knowledgeable and thoughtful especially when it came to dealing with a very rare eye condition that I have. They were helpful and honest in helping me pick out a new pair of glasses that looked good on me and the selection they have is just amazing!! I even found a pair of Candies glass that were on clearance that my insurance would’ve covered!! I got fitted for contacts as well and the doctor found me a cheaper pair than the ones I have been wearing and they are still a VERY good quality!! HIGHLY recommend Visionworks to anyone and everyone!!

The staff is always so nice and helpful. They accept different types of insurance and if you don’t have eye insurance, they have so many sales and they’ll work with you. I highly recommend it. After we moved, we still make the trip because at every visit they go beyond our expectations!

This is as professional an eyeglass center as you’ll find. Starting with Dr Hicks a consummate professional who makes the examination process interesting, enlightening and fun.After our exams Connie took over and patiently showed my wife and I the available frames. There are literally hundreds to choose from and she made it easy. After asking some pertinent questions and “eyeballing” our facial features, she picked out some good prospects and helped us decide which looked best.Connie then introduced us to Sheryl who provided all the prescription lenses information pricing and the order details. Connie and Dhetyl worked well together. We could not have been more pleased with the process!

Went in for an exam and while waiting to be called, heard Dr. Hicks yelling at a member of the staff through a closed door about a customer. I have a feeling this is why the staff always seems stressed.

I appreciate that Vision Works has worked with me to help with my daughters glasses. However, the metal frames weve had the paint just keeps wearing off. Im truly disappointed in the quality of the frames they have. I gave a 3 for good customer service. I wouldnt recommend this place as their frames are of poor quality.

It was my first exam with someone other than Dr. Klement and I was a little nervous. Ive heard a lot of good things about Dr. Hicks and during my appointment with him, all of my nerves diminished. I had my infant son with me, who at the time, was a month and a half old and he didnt have any problems and never got frustrated when I had to go and aid him when he started crying. When it came time to pick out my glasses, the staff was very friendly and helpful in picking out my glasses.
One lovely young lady helped me pick out frames..and get them done the same day, and gave me unbelievable service..i am so grateful.I recommend this location to everyone.Cant say enough good things about this particular Visionworks..Thank you so much.

I love this place. This is the 2nd time Ive attended and both times all of the staff has been very pleasant, helpful, friendly and welcoming. This last time I had 5 pairs of glasses for my children and I. The previous time it was just for my spouse.A young lady by the name of Veronica (this recent time) made me want to write this review. She was genuinely a great person to deal with. She was extremely helpful and very sweet. She and the doctor were very nice and child friendly. I wish I remembered the previous person that helped us, she was a supervisor at that time but I didnt see her there this time. I will continue to go back to this Visionworks location for mine and my familys vision needs. :-)

Listen to the other previous reviewer waited 2 hours for my eyes to just be checked,service sucked no priorities are being set in this place doctor was rude Ive never had a rude went to shake his hand and he was reluctant to reach,I also asked before I even waited 2 and a half weeks for an appointment if they took my insurance and they said yes come to find out after the exam that they didnt and had to out of pocket cash for the exam this place sucks!!! The staff was very unresponsive. The glasses came back with the wrong prescription in one lens. They didnt even bother to check the fit of the frames, and one woman was talking to me from across the store, could not even be bothered to come over to speak to me.

They dont even deserve to have a star. Optometrist is so INCONSIDERATE .He dosent care the next patient waiting. I was just on my lunch break from work. I didnt have any time to extend my appointment. Until I walked away from the store with NOTHING!! THEY RESCHEDULED ME BUT I HAVE TO WAIT 3-4 weeks before they can accommodate me. THEY DIDNT KNOW I WAS SO UPSET SINCE I DIDNT WANT TO CREATE A SCENE. I REPORTED IT TO THEIR HEADQUARTERS. THEN AFTER 4 HOURS, THEY CALLEN ME, THE HVE AVAILABLE SLOT IN THREE DAYS. BUT, THANKS, I WILL NOT WASTE MY TIME TO THEM.

I am always very satisfied everytime i visit this store, such a great environment with such nice caring personalities. Its always a pleasure coming here. When i walked in laura greeted me and welcomed me in, it was awesome. Everyone was so personable and nice it was another awesome visit sherryl was amaizing and let me try on any colors i wanted, renee was so sweet and always carried an amaizing smile everytime she came around. To start things off, I have gone here for about 10 years. And through the years, I have known the same optometrist. A kind, older aged man who is very good at his work, and honestly, deserves to work somewhere better. The staff on the other hand, is part of what makes this place absolutely wretched. Since the age of seven I have needed glasses, and as time went on, it became a dreadful experience.My exam was quick and enjoyable as always. In classes I began to have trouble reading, and having migraines often. My optometrist realized that I had excessive eye strain caused by having a lens insufficient for my current prescription. It was so bad I would pop blood vessels while studying. Of course though, I was worried about the price of these new lenses. He assured me that since he deems them necessary for my eye health, that they would be covered through my insurance.After my appointment I began carousing the store for a new par of glasses. Here, it may take hours. Mainly because the way this store operates, is by packing their store with frames that cost between $60-120. All of these frames, will be extremely low quality. And, are so poorly designed, that people wouldnt dare wear them unless it was for a backup pair. Then we get into the $125-250 mark. These are the designer frames. Not actually made by the designers they say they are. In fact, all of the glasses in the store are made by one company, Luxottica. Because all the glasses are made by one company, they have complete control over prices for frames.This gravely stresses me. Visionworks is the main dealer through most insurance companies for glasses. Visionworks knows this and takes advantage so that they never really lose money. For frames, you only get $70 towards them with insurance. Just enough for a spare pair. Forcing you to spend $50-150 more to get a frame that is decent enough to wear every day. For this, I have to save money ALL YEAR.Finally, I pick out a pair of frames. Out of the entire store selection, there is only one pair that compliments my face shape. And I had the do this process all by myself. No staff know how to pick a frame based on the persons features. This frame, cost $250. Thats $180 out of my pocket. But wait. Theyre having a %40 percent off sale on designer frames. But here is the catch that isnt on any of their sale signs. Sales cannot be used with insurance. Ever so conveniently, things seem to average out in price, with, our without insurance. It seems like my insurance that I pay every month for, is completely useless here.I take my frames to an associate, and they begin crunching numbers. My total? $450. For one pair of glasses. Thats impossible. With my insurance I get a free exam, $70 towards frames, and my insurance covers poly carbonate lenses. But, just not the new lenses I was recommended. I asked this lady why they were so expensive, she repressively said, The lenses. I protested that the optometrist says that they would be covered because its need based. She glances back near the optometrists office, then back at me. She doesnt say anything and begins fitting them to my face. Annoyed, I asked again. Then she got her manager.This man then comes and tires to disregard my questions and pressure me to settle with the price. It clearly said on their sheets to run them through my insurance. I got up and said I would like to have the optometrist come over. The manager refused, saying, Hes probably too busy for stuff like this.Frustrated, I asked about the price if I just got poly-carbonate lenses. They ignored me. I asked again, and the lady rolled her eyes and began crunching numbers. $350. Wrong. Again. $180. My insurance. COMPLETELY covers poly-carbonate. Instead, I walked out and never went there again. I later found Warby Parker in Milwaukee. They dont take insurance. But I was able to get nice frames, AND the lenses I needed, plus more. For $125. A great experience with staff that knows what theyre doing. If youre an adult or teen, ditch this dump and go there.

Went in on 7/15/16 to get lenses replaced under warranty. Spoke with Krystal the day prior over the phone. She was incredibly kind and helpful, however left out a key piece of information. When I got there everyone else was less than helpful. A lady who took my glasses said there would be gaps between my frames and lenses because the store didnt have the original frame and needed it to know exactly how the lenses should be cut. She was going to take out the original lenses, trace them, and cut new lenses based on that. How am I supposed to know that? I asked if the frames could be ordered in. I was ignored and given back my glasses, and then left. Waste of time.
