I called in the summer for an event to ask about boutonniere pricing for an event. Floral department said to order week before the event. The week before I called floral department manager and said now to order on Tuesday or Wednesday next week of event. I went in on Tuesday no one was working. I called Wednesday no one was working they said they had no one in floral all week! So the week of my event I had no boutineres and it was already too late to order everywhere else.
This grocery store is always a MESS! They’re always behind on stocking and they do it while people are shopping. One of the worst problems I have is that there will be lines and lines of guests who need to check out and they only have 2 lines with workers as cashiers. The rest is manual …. This is so very frustrating… especially if you are in a hurry, if you buy a lot of produce - and have to retrieve the codes - so many disgruntled shoppers. These lines of people extend through the liquor department and all the way off to the side on self check out. The other 2 cashier lines were running down the food isles.
Im new to the area and had a few options when it came to grocery stores. I chose metro because it didnt look so busy. I walk In and every worker looked unhappy to be there. No one says hello. I asked where certain items were & I was met with hostility several times. I was afraid to ask again, Ive had it with this place. So I decided to just get some chicken tenders and call it a night. And there was this tall African American man in the hot deli he didnt have a name tag on( I wish he did) he changed my whole view of the store. He was so nice he was the only one who smiled and was VERY handsome. He made small talk and told me itll be 10 minutes. I wish it took longer because i didnt need to shop anymore so I just stayed there and chatted with him until the 10mins were up. Reading the reviews, obviously Customer service is an issue here. Im writing this review to tell you you need more people like him there... Cuties 🤓
The only reason Im giving them a 2 and not a 1 is because the produce was fresh and the prices are good. Otherwise, the management is terrible. I had a couple of kids checking me out and they were goofing off. I realized I was missing a bag of produce when I got home. These kids were not trained to be respectful and attentive or to say hello and thank you. And the supervisors do not enforce any rules apparently. This place has gone down hill consistently for the last couple of years. Maybe if they paid their workers more than minimum wage they would have some incentive to do a good job. I will be going elsewhere from now on, even if I have to pay more.
Sad, to say a woman manager was extremely rude and not helpful at all. I needed 12 newspapers and wanted to know how many papers they had delivered each morning and she said I have no idea, and then proceeded to tell me that I have no idea if any of our other managers would know the answer and that was that.
I love shopping at metro it have a lots of my favorite food and they are kind and professional and I dont have to be in check out a long time thank GOD.
I went up to the service desk and no one was there. After approximately 10 minutes I asked Lori, the lady working in the self checkout area, if someone was working that could help. Lori said “she’s on break” and walked away. If she knew the person was on break, why not say something sooner? I waited 5 more minutes and asked Lori if the service desk was the only place to get cigarettes and her reply was”yep” and walked away again. Felt that was pretty rude.
Probably the worst grocery pick up service around town. Every time I have placed an order for pick up, 3/4 of my order is unavailable. Basic items like bread, bottled water, ground beef - not available, unbelievable and pure laziness of their employees. Additionally their shelves of gallons of water are always empty, never restocked. The last gallon of water I bought there had brown reside all over the outside.
I gave this location some time... shopping at different hours: hoping that some limited stock was temporary or that I could find a time when the store didnt feel suffocating and small. But its impossible to enjoy a trip here. When they are out of half of the things I need and I dont even enjoy my experience, I will go somewhere else, even if I have to pay a little more.
I admit I laughed when my friend sent me a message saying he was enjoying a $2 tap in A GROCERY STORE! I was CURIOUS...and I was not disappointed. Pics show a nice selection of taps and a whole cooler of goodness also $2/each. Mind, we ALSO perused the rest of the GROCERY STORE...and the shopping experience was nice and relaxed - cup holders on carts. THERES a STARBUCKS too! for those whod rather indulge in a relaxing coffee. The selection, notably the fresh foods and deli area are unmatched (compared to what we have in our small town). It was an EXPERIENCE. (details: 10 taps - REGULARLY rotating - a lot of local, but not all. so far, Ive been there twice and have not seen a duplicate!)
Was there today around 7:30pm. Went to check out at the register in the middle with 2 younger girls. I grabbed a stack of sale items which was located in the 1$ bin with the 75% off sign. (So originally thought they were 0.25 each) went to ring them up and they came up higher, so I simply say oh, I thought they were cheaper, I grabbed them out of the $1 box over by the sale items. The young lady at the register said they were ringing up at 0.75, and I said ok. And repeated it was fine I just thought they were originally $1 because the entire thing was in the 1$ box and then with the added 75% off It would have been 0.25. The young girl who was bagging shook her head and snapped with, Well, do you WANT them for a dollar OR WHAT!? Not understanding that I meant it was simply put in the wrong spot and I just thought it was 0.25 each. I had mentioned my thought out loud and thought I should just explain. I honestly didnt care what they cost, I just wanted to second check, since sometimes sale items anywhere doesnt ring up correct. Didnt care for her stank attitude nor wanted to explain that she simply didnt understand what I was saying. I simply said it was fine. I wasnt going to argue with a child.
The best section of groceries and contributing food industry brands in the entire inner city of Muleaukee. Friendly staff and has a secret brisket potato too by the deli. Im never surprised by the affordability and the healthy promotions. I love this metro market location who offers a lot of local food options to the general area!
Generally great staff, usually over priced product but with sales you can get to a reasonable price. Today was a total different experience. At 7:30 am there were only a few carts in the entry area, one of the guys behind the meat counter was by himself but had his mask down under his chin, not a single cashier line was staffed, and only one of the two self checkout areas (6 stations) was opened. Had 6-8 people in line waiting for a station because most people had full carts to check out I noticed that there were no carts in the entry area when I left. Again most staff deserve 5 stars. This rating is for the store and its management - and really want to give them only a half star but that is not an option.
I recently went to this Metro Market Location because it was close to my house, and to go to the park afterwards. I was horrid when I arrived, the plants outside smelled atrocious and there was not a SINGLE CART TO BE FOUND!!!! ( it was an older girl wearing all black pushing one cart at a time) As I walked inside the view was slightly better I could smell the delicious Starbucks coffee brewing and there was a pleasant floral worker with blonde braids and beads. The produce looked ok a little old but edible, I then proceeded to the meat and deli department to be cat called not once, not twice but 3 TIMES by the male workers. One was a younger tall man with fake gold teeth he asked me how old I was and could he have my number to which I responded in disbelief. The other one was a man who looked 25 and 40 at the same time beside him was a has been football star they both yelled to get my attention and wave creepily for me to come to their station. Even though I was highly uncomfortable I continued my shopping, as I was finished I walked to the front there was only 2 lines open and one self checkout station it was loud and chaotic. I went to the self checkout lane thinking it would be quicker, while I was waiting the self checkout worker was on the phone and eating while many of the station lights blinked awaiting for her help. she proceeded to tell the person she was in the phone with that the customers were annoying and didn’t know how to do anything. I immediately got out of the checkout line because I refuse to be treated in such a manner ( her name tag said something along the lines of Erica?) I then went to a cashier who helped me and was very kind and sweet her name was Azaria I loved her energy and enthusiasm to keep working through all that chaos.
I have patronized this store for years. I will no longer shop at the State St. Metro Mart.......employees standing around like theyre at a party rather than at a job, while many shelves throughout the store are not stocked. The appearance of the shelves and aisles look disorganized and messy, and again, understocked. This has been my experience the last few times I have gone there. This store must be under new management.....maybe management needs to do their job too.
I will not be coming back to tbis location. I went to the seafood department only for a male worker to ask for my number and repeatedly call me fine i told him to stop he just laughed and took my order i heard another employee call him Anthony or than that the checkout was insanely busy
Great for a change no waiting
If i can mark this a 0 i would produce was fresh but when i went to get seafood the darker young guy at the counter was so disrespectful to me he ask can i get your number i said no and that im married he said so what that gotta do with him he than repeatedly ask for my number so i walked away and finsh my shopping the check outlines was pretty long also
Do not do pick up this place is horrible they always claim they have issues with their pick up system I was told through text my order was ready and had to still wait for it going on 30 minutes now. Called twice and on the second call they said they were finishing up packing my stuff up, just to not see my stuff brought out to me 20 minutes later everyone else that was here has gotten their stuff but mine. Never again ! Horrible !
We almost stopped shopping there because many of the staff were not friendly at all and even made us not feel welcomed. From handling our groceries to not even a greeting. Produce is one of the main reasons we shop there and they are pretty well stocked with just about any food product you may need. I must say the last month has gotten better so well continue to shop there. Just hope it continues to get better as we all have enough on our plates with this pandemic.
This store is not how it used to be. Poor management only one register open and lines were horrendous There was only one young lady on the register and I felt bad for her I think her name was olivia. Other employees were just standing around talking. Will not be coming here again
This Metro Market is conveniently located near my house, and Ive gotten some great deli items (cheese, pate, sausage, seafood). During the pandemic, however, I only come here when absolutely necessary because of the atrocious lack of proper masking by the employees. Ive even seen customers completely maskless being helped! I feel unsafe coming here right now, honestly.
I have noticed the customer service gradually getting worse. I have been coming to get coffee here for years and I have always enjoyed the good service at this location. Recently, I visited and I wasnt even greeted as I stood waiting to order with no one else in line. The staff was new and very rude. No greeting, no thank you and to top it off they both looked like they had attitudes. Please teach your new staff common courtesy. Or possibly hire people that live in the neighborhood.
Again today, only one checker. And again the manager is nowhere to be seen. Hiding in his office instead of making sure his customers are taken care of. What happens when the checker needs a bathroom break or lunch? Do they just shut down the check out? This happens quite often at this store. Maybe they need a new manager who actually manages.
1 register open at 7pm on weekday night, waited in line for 20 mins to checkout. Absolutely ridiculous. This is the reason other grocery stores are opening up.
Love this grocery store. Convenient, clean, and the staff is always friendly. A few times a month, I stop at the bar and visit Melissa for a glass a wine and it never disappoints. Melissa is always informative and personable, and the options at the bar are delightful. Great place to stop- for a drink, conversation, and groceries!
The store itself isnt that bad, plenty of options, everything is organized. The big issue I have is the checkout line times. As you can see from the pictures only 1/2 of the lines were open. We saw employees walking around the store pushing empty carts for no apparent reason. This happens almost everytime we go there. I think well be going to another market from now on. 20 minutes to get through the checkout is way too long.
Just went to pick up my sons birthday cake and they lost my order. No apology, no discount, nothing. In fact the woman acted like I must have imagined my order. I had to scramble to find something remotely close in their frozen section and had them write happy birthday on it and it looked like a 5 year old did it. Great experience Pick N Save! Great bakery manager you have there (thats who helped me). 6 people in my family - over a thousand spent on cakes at your store and I couldnt even get an apology from your staff. Wow is all I can say. Hello Sentry!
I am glad the store is close to me and is very clean and employees are nice and helpful. It will be my go to grocery store.
Why is there 1 lane open? People waiting in line back to meat for goodness sake. Horrible customer service.
This may be one of the worst places to shop in the City. Shoppers are greeted by a litter-strewn parking lot, then by dirty, scarred and pitted floors at the entrance and throughout the store. Aisles usually messy, and sometimes freezers and cold cases feature cracked or broken glass doors. Long lines in check out lanes common due to lack of open registers, and sometimes untrained checkers. The only positive thing about this store is the two extraordinary pharmacists. They deserve kudos!
All the checkers called in but one. That poor woman had to check out everyone in the store and management did not help her. I dont know who manages that store, but they should be fired. So, when she had to use the restroom or eat lunch, did they shut the line down and let people wait? Why were so many employees standing around chatting, some with their masks under their chins, and this poor woman was working her butt off while the customers piled up in the line. Shameful. I will not shop where employess are treated so badly and the managers hide in the office.
Intacart shopper really struggled to fill my very basic order here- no Colgate toothpaste, Campbells cream of Mushroom soup or evaporated milk??? Really? He couldnt send any pics because the service was bad. Needless to say I will not be choosing Metro Market anymore.
Very big store they were out of some things more people shop there
Staff is always less than friendly lately, and the lines are out of control. Plan to spend 20-30 mins long on weekends waiting to check out. This place was our go-to forever, and now we need to find a better store.
People here are friendly at Metro Market. There’s a pizza area; they freshly cook your pizza if you’d like them too. Even more pizza if you wanna but them. There’s pizza samples. There’s a burger area, and they’ll have samples, too. They do cook your burger how you want it and right in front of you. There’s your local Starbucks inside the store, they happen to have samples.I think that Starbucks could do better in terms of having items in stock for the drinks. There’s a Fresh juice area, always having samples! I think those drinks are both interesting, healthy and amazing! Lastly, there’s a Bar. Good prices, friendly bartender, always has popcorn out to snack on. Must be over 21. 😁
The best customer service
They seem to have too much selection of some things and not enough of others. They dont have much ice cream but have tons of prepackaged luncheon meat in addition to a deli.
I like going to this Metro Market because it is close to my home and am very familiar with the lay out of the store and it has items I frequently buy that Metcalfes and Sendiks do not carry. However, the staff although ok seem overworked and tired and haggard compared to other grocery stores I go to. Need more lanes open too.
The store is nice, but whenever I go in there, no one is ever in the customer service booth for lottery!!!The checkout area is not very spacious. Theres only 2 or 3 lines open. But the cashiers are always very nice and pleasant. Most of them are pretty quick.
Love the store. Clean and still affordable and love all the upgrades. However, is there a limit to the items you can check out at the self check lane? Every time I go and its busy there are multiple shoppers with a cart full of items checking out in the self check out lane where most people go to because they only have a few items, maybe even a basket but a full cart is unreasonable. If there is not a.limit there should be and it needs to be enforced.
We used to shop here all the time but in the last 3 months or so it feels very uncomfortable and unwelcoming! The staff is very rude and cant even say hello or smile at you! They seem to be very poorly trained and could care less about the customers! I go to metcalf now because at least the staff there is friendly and not ghetto
Exelent
I stopped at Metro Market for a few last minute items, found everything I was looking for and a few that I wasnt. They have a great sale going on and a coffee bar when you first walk in. If Im not mistaken, they also serve beer. Hows that for a fun shopping experience.
We have shopped both in store and through ClickList. As life seems to get more hectic, we appreciate the option of shopping online and having people that really take the time and effort to pick out our items with great care. Everyone has been so kind, and I feel really go above and beyond.
Checkout lines are too long. There are no quick trips into this store unless its before 8am or after 9pm. If I was able to have a cashier check me out versus fumbling through the only slightly user-friendly self-checkout machines, Id be more apt to going here. Ive ruled this place out completely. Metcalfes is only partially more expensive but is much easier to quickly drop by, making the experience less stressful overall. Sales just arent worth it if I spend 10x longer here.
Most employees not wearing masks - or wearing them tucked under their chin.other neighborhood stores do a much better job of maintaining safety practices.
The only store in the city where laziness and apathy by employees is rewarded
This a very clean and recently updated market. Juice bar, cafe, and a place to have a beer. It has a very clean and expansive deli, featuring many cheeses, pizza parlor and soup bar. The store is well organized, with lots of parking. I feel safe at this location.
Good mix of everything you need and some of the fancier stuff. Nice store since they have remodeled. The bar is a nice touch and the beer is super cheap.
You can drink and shop! $2 pints and Melissa at the bar is super friendly and makes great conversation. If you need help in the grocery department ask for Jackie she is the best manager by far there! I go out of my way to do shopping here.
Never enough staff working at checkout, especially during busy days and times. never seen more than 3 registers open, usually only 2 (out of 8).update 9/12/195:20 pm on a Thursday, 2 registers open. I have 4 items, waiting 15 minutes in line. downgrading to 1 star, done with this place.
Ordered a unicorn cake for my grand daughters 4th birthday.... Ordered early in the week here it is Saturday the day scheduled for pick up and they dont have a order nor cake ready for pick up.....very unprofessional matter was not resolved.... Very unhappy customer
The cashier was to busy talking to the girl baging. There was 3 people in line ahead of me. No one had more than 10 items . 25 minutes in line. The customer service......
Good Selection was available in Cold and Hot Prepared Foods Area. Produce I bought was Fresh and Flavorful. Favorite SODA was on Sale! Very Nice Outing! [Whoa, it was Rather Cold Outside! Needed Heated Parking Lot!!! ☺☺☺ Kidding!!]
Love the new design, great products. Got to get use to where the food is now, but love this location. Can grab a coffee, beer, or some good barbecue and shop!!
Was looking for a nice dessert to bring to a picnic tonight. Went to Metro because Simmas was closed for vacation. Very disappointed with their prices and selection. But kudos to the employee in the bakery who told me outright that I dont want to buy that fruit tart as I was inspecting the date and thinking the fruit didnt look that fresh.
I would definitely consider coming here more often now. The store is very clean and they have great produce. I asked an employee where something was and they brought me to it instead of just telling me where it was which was unnecessary but still very nice.
Seems like all the deals at Pick n Save nowadays involve buying 5 of this or 10 of that. I dont need 5 bags of chips. I want one or maybe two. Plus, prices just arent that good. They had 90 percent ground beef for almost 7 bucks a pound the other day. Normal 80% beef was like 5 bucks a pound. For those prices, Ill go to my local butcher and get way better meat. Otherwise okay. Generally similar to other food stores in its category.
The better grocery store is across the street
This place is the bomb(dot)com. Excellent staff, great products in the store and all the sales products were in stock. This store really knows how to keep customers. Shoutout to upper management for doing a great job!
Love the store since they converted to Metro Market. Also the bar has $2 craft beer which is nice to have while shopping!
Love this place. Well stocked. Clean aisles. Excellent customer service.
So at first I was really excited about all the updates being made in the store until I went to pick up some deli food yesterday. While their selection has greatly improved the cold premade deli salads are now self serve and all one price. Please explain to me how you can justify charging people $6.99/lb for seafood salad and a basic potato salad that you can’t even promise me some kid didn’t stick their fingers directly into.... I can take the pet pound pricing on a lot of stuff but charging $6.99/lb for pasta and potato salads is outrageous and truly disappointing, looks like time I find my own recipes.
First time shopping here and I loved it. I loved the distribution of the aisles, they are spacious and well organized. They have nice selections and prices are decent.
Avocado was cheaper here than we had previously found in the area. Going to be making the same dishes with them. Shall see if they taste the same.
High end grocery store. Tremendous deli selections, good produce. Road construction on State street makes it hard to get in and out.
Great store, very good produce, meats, cheeses, etc. I was surprised to see so many shopping carts full of empty stock boxes cluttering some isles. That was unusual.
Really need to have someone look over the meat. I understand you are in the process of renovating, but brown meat is not healthy. Your coolers are not cold enough.
Excellent place to shop. Customer friendly. Typically has sale items in stock. Rain checks always available.
Much improved customer service in the checkout line since Kroger became involved. Hot food table has great variety, but sometimes appears dried out. Need to have someone stir food occasionally, and make sure food looks appetizing.
Since becoming metro market they seem to be discontinuing a lot of items that I was getting there. And the pricing is going up too. The bakery doesnt get the rolls out early enough anymore. I usually like to go early Sunday morning to do my weekly shopping to beat the rush but the rolls arent out yet.
Love the update of the store. Big variety of things to choose from. Make shopping more pleasurable.
On the whole it is a nice store. We were there yesterday morning 6 / 6. The plants and flowers were terribly wilted and dryYou can not sell dead plants. The manager did not show any caring about them . It is also lost money for the company. We were back later . NO WATER.
They have added 4000 items but gotten rid of 8000 others. I complain online and to customer service constantly, to no avail. Instead they find space for furniture and home decor. I just want my groceries!
This store knows how to keep their customers happy and coming back! Employees are ALWAYS pleasant and willing to help.
Great oh my God its amazing I will stop at that place on my way home from work again
Its really easy to navigate through and doesnt have a separate liquor area. Just a plus!
Familiar to me. Friendly workers, always helpful. Have improved produce department!
Wow my lady loved it . she said it looks like a update pick n save lol, allot beautiful colors nice bar in the inside nice place for lunch it looks like....
Somethings are pricey but excellent quality food. They have some great sales on groceries too
I want to say 4 out of the 5 times I’ve been there. It’s been a bad experience. I know they’re remodeling the building. But whenever I’ve asked the staff questions about their deli section. They’ve given me an attitude or ignored me. And half the time their not even stock w/the supplies you need to get your food.I understand how people can be especially in Wauwatosa, but theirs no need for being rude.
This place is amazing especially since they turned it into a Metro Market. They have everything and more you could want. Starbucks, gelato station, pizza, popcorn, and more
The check out line staff was completely useless. 4 workers standing around in a circle at the self check out stations with no clue and not willing to help customers.
Impossible to find help. A good friend of mine allegedly got food poisoning from their newly installed hot food deli. Her dog (had scraps) went to an animal hospital. Friend was treated with ambivalence since there was no evidence collected.
Update: this place is getting worse. Its great that they installed extra self checkouts, but now they have no lanes open, so if you have a large shopping trip, it takes time to checkout and you need to wait for the checkout lane person to help you because the PC will security lock when you remove your bags to make room for more of your items to bag.The meat area smells too, kinda turns the stomach. Also, when I was in the frozen food aisles, there was so much freezer burn, rows of food were frozen in place and couldnt be removed for purchase. The worst part was the chunk of dirt and hair that was frozen on the food!!! I wish I had taken a picture, I totally lost my appetite, it was so gross. For the most part, we have stopped going to this store, but every once in a while we forgot and come here...and are usually reminded why we stopped coming here.Older review: the Its not the worst store in Milwaukee, but I expect more from a store in Tosa. The improvements since the updates are a nice addition. Produce is meh, meat is good. My biggest pet peeve is employees standing around while I do their job, aka bagging my groceries. While there are always several employees hanging around the checkout area (tonight I counted 7), they only ever seem to have 2 lanes going and one bagger.... if that.
Fresh Fruit and vegetables selection and quality could use improvement.
Very modern new design with newly added hot food sections within the store
I hadnt been since the remodel but I have always had a pleasant experience at this location. Store is always clean and the employees are very helpful
Really awesome store and have a hot deli, star bucks, a full bar, and have really good sales.
After Metro Market takeover, its more of a hipster convenience store than a grocery store. Their food selection went from bad to worse, but their prepared foods are much better. I largely switched to Metcalfs and Cermak, depending on my needs.
I purchased a black Angus beef roast on sale and the usual produce to go with it and it is delicious. Their prices have gone down and I like what they have done to improve it to a metro market.
Very nice....Its like an upgraded Pick N Save 🤗
I like the prices here, however I dont like when they advertise that customers have to buy so many things in order to get the cheap price. I mean its not for everything there, but still doesnt seem fair.
Employees were very helpful in locating a product I was looking for, I couldnt locate where it was on my own.
Big store with a large selection of both fresh and prepared foods.
I enjoy going to this particular Pick n Save. Even though they are doing some renovating, this store is clean, the employees are friendly and helpful, and the food is fresh. This is my favorite local Pick n Save.
