Very high quality work performed on rear end bumper replacement and paint job. Took Gene a little while to find the Kia parts but he found them and made sure he figured out the correct color paint and didnt just paint the car to some close to the right color. Highly recommend Gene and Canton Collision.

At this time Gene already has my money and there is concerns that was brought to his attention after i picked up my truck. Bad body work that should have been noticed before paint. Then they also did under coating but got over spray on new paint. Running boards used to be solid, not now, they did not install all bolts and now they are loose and rattling. I had to give a1 star to be able to write review. Job took longer than promised to complete and he has not returned 7 calls to make this right, plus all other messages as work was getting done. Price is cheap but work and quality along with professionalism is out the door. You get what you pay for i guys.

I found Gene through Craigs List. I needed a new hood painted. Other shops wanted over twice Genes quote and were going to take a month to get to it. I needed it quickly but did not have the time to do the job myself. Gene turned it over in ONE DAY! His quality is top notch.Aside from the high quality work, done at a huge savings of money and time; I found Gene to be a friendly person to me and his employees.

BUYER BEWARE! There has never been a more DISHONEST body shop than GENE DEPRIEST at CANTON COLLISION. Takes your money and doesnt finish anything. WONT ANSWER THE PHONE! Waited over 2 years for what HE said would take 2 months and the car still wasnt done. He ruined our car. WHAT SHODDY WORK!!! Not only did he ruin the car but lost all the parts he took off it and said he never took them off! Had to take it from him unfinished and sue him to recover any of our loses. SMALL CLAIMS COURT knows him on a first name basis! And by the way, he has been working on that stupid Red GT for over 5 years. Still not done!!! IF THERE WAS NO STAR HE WOULD GET THAT. Wish we would have seen these reviews before!

Drop my truck off in 2014 CK 20 Chevy pick up he did bodywork basecoat clearcoat sprayed a bedliner in for me with in Two weeks The work was outstanding and still is today and the price blue everybody out of the water I would take anything back to him

Do not take your car here obviously the reviews speak for them selves, i asked gene why the reviews were so bad and that i wasnt sure if i wanted to take my car here and he goes dont worry its just a bunch of customers who didnt get there way!!!..........enough said somebody needs to pack the dam shop up and shut em down

I know exactly how you all feel. I dropped off my 1969 Chevelle to Canton Collision on September 29, 2013. Gene had came out to my house near the end of summer 2013 to take a look at (Quote work to be done)on my Chevelle, that was the first car I owned in 1985 when I was 17 yrs old. My plan was to have Gene do the body and paint, and I would do the Engine, mechanical, etc.. as a project with my son as he was 17 at the time. The only reason at this time to get the car done was so me and my son could take the car to the Woodward Cruise and Back to the Bricks in Flint for 2014, and my son wanted to take some Graduation Pics with it in the fall of 2014. Gene was well aware of my plans and schedule at the time, and that is why I took the car to him. Well, needless to say but he still has not finished my car. He has had so many excuses as to why, and I cant take it any more. I doesnt even phase him that my son had lost out on our original plans and he is 19 yrs old now. I ended up pulling my car the summer of 2016, and now has to be completely redone because of all of the mistakes that were made on it. Worst experience ever! I have lost a lot of money over these years because of this, along with the time I can not get back with my son for our original plans we had!

Canton Collision had my car for a total of close to six months for a job that was quoted to take a week. I had to extend my rental, borrow friends/family members cars to get through this nonsense. The first time it wasnt even painted correctly I asked for in certain areas. Gave him some parts that cannot be located to be painted or repaired. The second time it was correct but the work was shoddy at best. There was no masking on my car and components were not removed for paint and it was obvious. Even my windows have paint on them. Overspray on my intercooler, fog lamps, protective panels, headlights etc. Paint lines obvious and had to remove tape from my vehicle. The paint is peeling off of certain areas, solvent popping and orange peel is visible. Certain areas arent even covered. Dealt with BBB and Michigan Department of Consumer Affairs to no avail. My only option is small claims court and I plan to do so. Just save yourself the time and dont even bother taking your car to this man. All you will get is the runaround and excuses and an amateur paint job at best. Seriously NEVER UNDER ANY CONDITIONS BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS COMPANY!!!!!! If I could give zero stars I would.

Back in early April 2015, Gene quoted me $X,XXX to paint my 1971 Camaro and that it would take 3 months to do the job (slight rust repair, some new sheetmetal, strip and paint, nothing major). After three months I followed up with Gene and was told that its going to take a little bit longer than he had expected due to being short staffed. I continued to check in about every other week and was given the same excuse. It has now almost been a year and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Im not sure when my car will be finished. If you are considering Canton Collision for any sort of restoration work I suggest you look elsewhere.UPDATE: Its now been 14 months and Im getting the same responses. Ive contacted the Better Business Bureau, a lawyer and the Michigan Department of State. Ive begged and pleaded with Gene to finish my car. All to no avail. I think Im going to just pull my car and find someone else to do it. Please learn from my mistake - do not under any circumstances take your car to Canton Collision.
